Is it likely that I can find some of the products mentioned at places like Barnes and Noble? (I can't buy anything via Internet. sweatdrop )
I haven't really used any self-teaching tools myself. I do have a copy of Kana de Manga, but I haven't really used it yet. Since I'm not "forced" to learn the characters, I pushed it aside in lieu of what I ACTUALLY have to study.
@ Hermoinie : Ha, I noticed that you were in Germish. 3nodding

Is Rosetta Stone any good? I've been looking at it and it looks pretty good. I thought that a product with such ghetto grapics and that costs alot had to be good. Oh, and of course, really work. wink

Yes, it is very good. 3nodding I use it and have hardly gotten anything wrong. Anything I can't get from looking at the pictures and text I look up. Even my brother is doing well with it and he's not very good with languages.

Name: http://nihongoresources.com/Brief Description: Currently my home page, it has decent lessons, and though it doesn't have many, there's a full 308 page textbook full of information about the Japanese language in pdf format. It's not exactly a lesson textbook, but more of a reference for a lot of the Language; though I have been using it to teach myself anyway.

One more question about Rosetta Stone Japanese. How far will level one and level two take you? (beginner, intermediate, advanced)

I think level 1 can take you to intermediate and level 2 can take you to advanced. Of course you still need supplements to know why everything says what it says. Like the particles and verb endings.

I do not like the Rosetta Stone, it is not good, especially if it is all you are using.

the_haunted_boy I do not like the Rosetta Stone, it is not good, especially if it is all you are using. Psh! Then give it to me. Rosetta Stone didn't say "you will learn everything by using Rosetta Stone!" stare

When I first started out learning Japanese, I used (and still do) TheJapanesePage.com. It has a variety of grammar tips ranging from "Easy" to "Plum Hard". There is also a forum (I don't use it very much) that has both Japanese and English-speaking peoples. Also has a bunch of funny little cultural notes. For kanji (before I bought a book), I used KanjiSite.com for my JLPT-learning needs. It has all of the JLPT kanji up to level 2, as well as hiragana/katakana. Very good beginner/intermediate kanji website.

I've been taking notes on grammer for the last six months from www.elanguageschool.com but they're currently undergoing heavy maintanance. So I'm behind like two weeks in my study. gonk But the website is amazing~! Sugoi desu ne!! ^^ My J-grammar is horrible though but that's mostly because I have nobody to practice with anymore. My partner went home, to Japan, for the summer and won't be back till August. confused
So if anyone would like to practice and/or become friends with me you can find me at one of the following:

See I have a slightly different problem. I took two years of japanese at a community college. (while in high school) Now that I'm going off to a college that doesnt offer Japanese I'm not sure what program to pick up. Ex. would Rosetta Stone/Adventures in Japanese have enough material that I dont know to make the investment worth it? Or would it be best to pick up my learning from all sorts of little resources? (thanks for those that help, its much appreciated <3)

This is a site I'm looking at now. http://japancast.net/index.php/I can't buy any learning materials at the moment. So I'm just working with some vocabulary. They seem to be into helping with whatever you'd like to learn.

Then you can learn Japanese on the go.
