He grinned at her, "It's better than nothing" he said, then stepped closer.l The water has seeped into her wings, so he cautiously blew at then. A few more feathers flatten down. Fenrir laughed then, she did look quite comical. It'll take some time to dry then until they were sleek again. He sanked to his legs. Th ground were dry and warm heat rose up from beneath. Perfect for a night's rest. "Where have you come from," he asked, "that coat is rare among here..."

"I guess." She ruffled her wings again as he blew on them. A small pout coming to her lips as she looked over her wings. They looked so horrid being wet. Another few fluffs later and she watched him lay down.
The run they had did wear her out a bit. So she tucked her legs under her body and lowered herself into a comfortable position on the ground. Wrapping her tail around her hind quarters. "I'm not really sure where I come from, actually. Some place far away, but....I'm not sure if it had any kind of name to it."

it was rare of him to have sat down and talked to a mare like he did so now. But he was tired and comfortable and she seemed like good company. Fenrir laid his head down on the ground, his long tail idly flicking back and forth. "Why did you come here then? Was your roaming lands bad? Or...." he thought towards the soquilis that have filtered through.....those of the bite, the kalona, the skinwalkers, soquili with ill reputes. The stallion frowned slightly at that thought. "My father used to roam these lands......I've never gone too far as to discover beyond the boundaries...although I would like to. But family gets grumpy with the passing of days," he smiled wryly.

She gave a short laugh and shook her head. A small smile creased her lips as she looked at him. "No. Nothing of that sort. I just wondered what else was out there. Beyond the land I knew. And just started wandering one way and ended up here." The tip of her tail tapped against the warm ground that she lay upon. Warmth rising from the earth and warming her body. Her feathers had already started to dry and and look semi normal at least.
"If you're curious then you should go. Though I wouldn't suggest going alone. You may be a strong stallion but there are thing out there that are unavoidable. And you don't have wings so you just can't fly away from them. But even then...sometimes you can't get away." Zhenga frowned at the thought. Many times she had heard of vicious attacks on other Soquili, merely in passing though. So many treacherous things lurked in the shadows of the lands that one wouldn't know if it was the shadows playing tricks on your mind or there was something actually out there stalking you.

He pondered.....attracted by that suggestion. To go wandering past the boundaries called to his blood like wildfire. A yawn escaped him, his bared his teeth like a lion, lazily blinking and following the tips of the mare's tail. The heat was near putting him to sleep but he shook his head awake, "Mmmmmmmm, I would if I could....and why couldn't I....I should......to run beyond the boudaries, grazing to heart's content, soquili earth beneath my hooves, the sun on my back. and...perhaps.....a mare...by ...my ...side........." Fenrir murmurred sleepily, ears flicking but eyes closed. In his mind he was thinking no treachorous things could touch him...he would run like the wind beneath his feet, as well as any winged soquili could fly.

She smiled lightly as she watched him. He seemed to grow weary. Perhaps their race earlier was a bit too much for him? Zhenga herself did feel a bit tired, but not enough to just fall asleep right there. Though she'd feel a bit weird for falling asleep in FenFen's presence. Even though she knew a bit about him, she didn't feel that comfortable just yet.
"If it's what your heart desires then I don't see why anyone should stop you. And I'm sure your family would understand...." Her ears twitched a bit as she turned her head to look out towards the warm water. "And maybe you'd find that mare to be by your side in the process. Who knows?"

Fenrir yawned again, thumping his tail now. "Till the snow passes...it is too cold for any soquili to go beyond, with no knowledge of food or weather or strange creatures. When the sun rises and the snow melts....I shall go." One clear green eye peered at her, "Do you not wish to see your homeland again?"
He lifted his head, blowing away a pesky firefly doting on his ear. "I wonder where Ril went......he would like to explore. Or perhaps he will scowl and say its better to stay home. That raccoon is complicated at times," he muttered, forgetting that he himself could be like that too.

Zhenga was taken back a bit by his question. Since she had arrived she hadn't really thought about traveling back to where she had come from. It wasn't even a twinkle in her eye of an idea. "I'm not sure, really. It would be nice to see it again, but I have no real drive to go back as of yet for any reasons known to myself...."
Her tail gave a few flops against the ground again before it settled itself around her hind quarters. "Maybe if you tell him there might be some sort of exotic food to discover along the way he would go. He seems to be one who's big on food, at least from my stand point."

"Food eh," he chuckled......that would draw the raccoon's attention, "You've got it quite right....we met when he threw apple cores at my head, that darn thing. I chased him through trees and forests and lured him with boysenberry." A happy smile appeared as he thought. There were many times of trying to ignore the raccoon who so pointedly refused to leave his side. And soon enough they've become inseparable. A strand of mane fluttered over his eye and he blew if off. "Hey....your wings are starting to dry," he nosed at a feather, sneezing in the process.

She laughed and shook her head lightly. "Most raccoons are crazy about food. So it was just a bit of a shot in the dark guess, really." Her ears perked as she listened to the little story of how FenFen had met his wryly little raccoon friend. It sounded like it started off a little rocky but eventually blossomed into what they have now. "It sounds like you two are good friends. Even if you do have your differences and varied views on things."
As he drew attention to her wings, she raised an eyebrow as he nosed at the feathers. A small giggle passing through her lips as he sneezed. "Seems so. Now perhaps I won't look like a drowned rat."

"heh....at times I think he argues just to provoke me. Then I just chase him up a tree again." he grinned, "He isn't so bad...it's good company since I'm alone most of the time anyway.........." and if you listen closely, one could detect the hint of sadness in his words. Fenrir coughed, nosing the feathers more...they were soft and feathery and trails of droplets now flicked off the ends, "You don't like a drowned rat...maybe like a wet cat...." the stallion laughed, turning on his other side so he now laid next to her.

"Perhaps that's just his way of keeping you on your toes." Zhenga gave a small laugh and shook her head. Her ears twitched at the last part of statement. She could hear the hint of sadness to it. Fenrir must be a fairly lonely Soquili most of the time when his raccoon friend isn't around.
Her wing twitched as he nosed at her feathers again. "A wet cat?" Blinking her silver eyes, she puffed out her cheeks and tapped her slender tail against his side. "That's not a very nice thing to say."

He twitched as her tail whacked against his side and he tried to n** at it, "On the contrary...the wild cats are the next dominant upon soquili lands. The cat is a wild creature, a master of its own roam, a huntress and prowler. They don't take orders, and they are fast on their paws, quick in mind. I rather admire them....even if they did fall into a lake and come out a wet cat." Fenrir grinned, leaning against her.

She puffed out her cheeks a bit more before letting the air out of them. A small giggle and a shake her head head was all she gave him. "You made it sound like it was a bad thing before. And now here you go making it seem like it's the most wonderful thing to happen. Being called a wet cat to me seems like you're saying it's not as bad as being a wet rat but it's still a bad look." Zhenga tapped her tail against his side, lighter this time as she gave him a wry look. Her body leaned against his to support it slightly so he didn't push her over.

he laughed easily along with her. "I can't say i looked any better," he blew away a strand of mane again, persistently flowing over his vibrant green eyes. "And i think you look sorta nice when you smile....um....sorta..." he was halfway towards nudging her before his cheeks spread crimson blush, and he looked away, intently wriggling his ears. The mist must be fogging up his mind, he thought, wondering what on earth was prompting him to...to...well...what was he doing ? He was like acting like how his father was with mother.......oh dear...
