I'm using Traitors in the classic 'phone for help' move: seven troopers and one agitator with a teleporter beacon. Infiltrate 'm as close as you can get and make them look as harmless as possible. The enemy will have bigger things to worry about, like those bikes and hordes of muties and will (hopefully) ignore the more harmless Traitors.

Until you teleport a squad of Chosen Terminators with your second HQ choice and maxed out on powerfists...

By then they've served their purpose and you'll probably lose them, or they are ready to deal anti-light-tank death with those krak grenades... Only works once though, regular opponents figure Da Kunnin' Plan out the second time...

And besides, those new Traitor kits from Forge World are just the best, who wouldn't want to collect Traitors with those awesome gasmasks!?

Yeah they do look good. Some of the gasmasks could be used on normal guards too, if they arnt attached to the body...

the lost and the damned are fallen marines that still work for the imperium and i think the damned can come back from the dead 1 time after being killed in battle. the damned are a ghost army. PS i play the Crimson Fists a devastated chapter, down with the orks. scream

Maybe he's thinking of Legion of the Damned in which case he's still kinda wrong?

The lost and the damned are traitor guardsmen, mutants, and other such renagades. The legion of the damned are a chapter made of fallen space marines. They rise in times of need to aid the imperium. So yes hes thinking of the legion, not the lost.

That's an oft made mix up. Perhaps GW shouldn't choose such same-sounding names for quite different forces? Still, the Lost and the Damned are way cooler. Who needs more over the top marines saving the day when you can swamp your enemies in the mutated traitor scum of humanity! Everybody likes plague zombies, except perhaps when they are feeding on your troops...

Plague Zombies! Loads of fun... Realy fun when led by an Aspiring Champ. of Nurgle with a Plague Sword and Nurgles Rot.

That was waaay off.

The Legion of the Damned were 21st founding marines lost in a warp storm and thought wiped out as a whole.

They now appear here and there at random, usually in mid battle to assist imperial forces before vanishing back.

Their models are pretty damn old and were just skull and bones heavy marines with some fire here and there. Their rules allowed everything including vehicles to deepstrike into play. They were however restricted like other 21st founding chapters. Limited wargear, and back in 3rd ed their only psychic power for librarians was Fear of the dark under a different name.

And no, someone named Crimson Fist playing the Crimson Fists???? I never wouldve thought. PS Ironic signature.

Well anything I ever read made them sound like fallen marines. Then again, "fallen" could have ment lost..

Seeing as theyre legendary figures and have very ghostly attributes, it wouldnt suprise me if many marines unfamiliar with the history of certain foundings, and a few imperials outside of the adeptus astartes believed they were ghosts or phantoms. So Im sure theyre refered to as fallen, which would add to their reputation, and be quite the mind ******** for anyone on the opposite side of the battle.

I will admit, the models look realy cool though.

Not to bake up this this facinating thread rolleyes about people not being able to tell the differance between The LEGION of the Damned, and The LOST and the Damned, but how many of you out there are aware that Games Workshop has declaired the Lost and the Damned an unoficial army?

This quote can be found at the following web site:

"This list will be no longer valid as of the release of the 2007 Codex: Chaos Space Marines."

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/chaosspacemarines/gaming/lostdamned_list/default.htm

I've already emailed Games Workshop, but have yet to get an answer to my questions:

Does the new Chaos Codex have this stuff?
If not, why downgrade the army?
Is the new book incompatable in some way?
Are you people at Games Workshop compleatly insane for discuraging the masses from buying huge lists of models from your entire stock, both 40K AND Fantasy Battles?

.....

And maybe a few questions regarding the questionable breading habits of their parents....

xp

Any way, do any of you wonderfull gamers out there know the answers I seek?
