Quixana thought about it for a moment as he clambered up into a chair with his mother's help. Courage curled up in a furry circle just underneath and rested her heavy head on her paws. Milk would be nice, she thought at him. We should drink more milk.
"Milk, please," he said dutifully.
Proud as punch over his manners, Cressida slipped into her own chair and set her purse on the table, opening it up and beginning to dig. "I'll have hot chocolate if you don't mind, please," she said. "It's a bit cold out there." Finally, she made a soft noise of discovery under her breath and pulled out a little stuffed dog from the purse. "Quixana, darling, can Alouette play with your doggie?"
He hesitated for a moment and then stuck out his hand. "Gimme, please." When she handed it over, he looked at it solemnly, gave it a pat on the head, and then stretched over the table to give it to Alouette. "That's Orion," he said carefully, pronouncing the name with determination. "You can play with him."

About to leave for the line, Koosh caught a glimpse of Pitch on the table and gawked, horrified. Hurrying over she chided, "Off there, you! And pointed to the stroller. Though the thought of defying her crossed his mind, after lightly poking Koosh's nose he hunkered off of the table the way he came. Looking around in embarrassment Koosh sighed, goodness why couldn't he be as behaved as Courage? Nevertheless she turned around and headed toward the counter with her order.
"Ennnnn!" Smiled Ally as she delicately picked up the doggy figurine. Moving it around and adding in some truly very random baby sounds she gurgled and smiled at Xana thankfully.

Cressida laughed and ducked her head under the table. "Courage, keep an eye on that scamp, will you? I think he's just a baby yet, too."
Resting his elbows on the table, Quixana watched in approval as Alouette made the stuffed animal dance. He smiled. It wasn't such a bad idea to share sometimes.

Wanting to see how Xana played with the doggy too Ally held it out to him, "Ennnn?"
Two bags of cookies, a cup of decaf coffee, a cup of hot chocolate and two cups of milk (one for the infant and one for toddler, or so koosh thought) all sat somewhere in Koosh's arms. Slowly but surely she made her way to the table and, miraculously, set everything down without a crisis. Distributing everything to their respective person Koosh sat down.
"Eeeeee!" Squealed Ally at the sight of such delectable food.

Quixana likewise beamed in delight at the cookies but he first took the dog politely from Alouette and set it to one side. "No cookies for Orion," he explained to her. Then he held out his hands for his bag. He looked at the milk a bit askance, though. "Mommy? Courage wants some milk."
Shaking her head with a smile, Cressida leaned over to kiss his forehead and stood. "I'll go get a saucer. You behave for Koosh, okay?" Then, before poor Koosh could object, she disappeared to the counter.

"So can I take your word that these are the best cookies ever?" asked Koosh of Xana in a playful manner. Pulling Ally out of the stroller and into her lap- freedom!- Koosh hand Ally a cookie, pre-empting the girl's complaint for one.
Eyeing the cookie and turning it in her finger Alouette cautiously nibbled off a piece of the cookie. It was night and day, the first moment her look was tentative and nervous, the next her eyes grew wide, her smile stretched from ear to ear, and the rest of the cookie had been gobbled! "Eeeeee!" She exclaimed, reaching for another one. When Koosh handed her one she reached to give it to Xana, unaware that a bag of cookies for himself lay in front of him. She wanted him to partake in this really really really yummy food!
Koosh, on the other hand, was glad that her girl was quite the sharer. Perhaps this Xana boy was rubbing off on her kids. She looked at Pitch, or at least one of them.

Aha. Quixana solemnly took the offered cookie and ate it. He knew this game. Walter used to give him cookies all of the time. Then again, this cookie was much crisper than Walter's were. No less tasty, though. "Thank you, Aloo," he said after neatly finishing it off. Then he dug in his bag and handed one over to the little girl. "For you."

Clapping happily Ally took the cookie and munched it. It tasted much better than hers tasted (or so she thought, it would've been much to her surprise that they were identical bags)! And, when it was her turn to give again, squealed with delight. What a fun game!
Smiling, Koosh sipped her coffee, awaiting Cress's return. Pitch slipped out of the stroller, deciding to go visit the other daemon. Faces a couple feet apart he lay down opposite the daemon and made a clicking sound, which had an incredible likeness to projecter feeding negatives.

((*giggles* Sweetie, you're playing with Cressida and Xana. heart Though I'll take the compliment. Ice has more smarts than poor darling Cress.))
Courage lifted her head and rumbled a low purr in response to Pitch. Still a baby, she says. But you know your job, right? Alouette is very sweet.
Before she could offer anything else to the other daemon, a saucer of milk appeared before her and she looked up to grin, totally feline, at Cressida. The brunette smiled back. "For her ladyship," she laughed. "If Pitch wants some, too, you'll have to share, okay?" Straightening, Cressida again took her seat in time to witness another cookie exchange between the children. She raised an eyebrow. "What are they doing, Koosh? Or don't I want to know?"

((Ughh, I see the characters, I see the scene, and then I give them the wrong names! Like the worst part? I re-read that post a billion times until I finally found the problem. Sorry, again, I'll whip my fingers into shape, promise!))
It was the first time he had talked to anyone else and, expirimenting with the phenomenon said, "Y... yes." He wasn't one stuttering, just a baby learning something for the first time.
Koosh giggled, "They're sharing!" She bounced Ally on her knee in a display of affection. "And quite intent upon it, if I say so myself! I've tried to coerce her into drinking some milk, but," she glanced at an undisturbed cup of milk, "that was a failure in and of itself." She cracked a grin, hey! Her girl was sharing, wasn't that supposed to be one of the hardest mountains to climb? "I think your Xana here is rubbing off on my girl."

"He might very well be. He seems to get on with just about everyone." Cressida beamed proudly at her son as he handed over another cookie and then, hearing Koosh's comment about the milk, deliberately reached over to pick up his cup. It wobbled a bit dangerously and his mother quickly reached over to steady it and help him take a long swallow. "He has his little best friend Walter and there's Sonya and Lysium and Sable and, oh, his sister -adores- him."
Done with his drink, Quixana lowered it and nodded at Alouette. "Milk's good with cookies," he informed her. "Mommy says it makes you grow. Courage says so, too."

"Who couldn't get along with him?" Koosh said as she watched the kids continue to play the 'sharing game', or so she had dubbed it. "Are all of those kids Forgotten?" She asked, a curiousity growing in the back of her mind to as how many Forgotten there were. There sure were a lot of books in that library...
Noticing the game had taken an intermission Ally watched as Xana gulped down his milk. And, just like that, she pointed at her milk, "Oooooo!" She added as she pointed to the glass. Koosh was more than happy to oblige. After letting her slurp a couple of sips of milk, Koosh took the milk cup away from Alouette.
"Look at you, you've got a little milk moustache!" She wiped it away with a napkin and looked at Cressida appreciatively, "Thanks."

"For what?" Cressida looked honestly surprised. "I've done nothing at all." She smiled in Alouette and Quixana's direction. "I adore children and Alouette is adorable. I'm just glad they get along so well. You should visit us and meet Annie and my Leon."
Quixana watched Koosh wipe the little girl's mouth and then looked around. Spotting a napkin near his mother, he reached over to grab it. "Please," he murmured. "Thank you." Then he set about wiping his own mouth. Just in case he, too, has a moustache.

Koosh looked down at Alouette, "When I first got her I was a little overwhelmed, but I think she's really started to grow on me." Ally, sensing Koosh looking at her, craned her head up and grinned. Then she looked back down to Xana and squealed.
Clapping her hands she reached for another cookie. None fell at her grasp and she grunted, pointing at the bag. Koosh, coming to her aid, looked in the bag and patted her baby, "Sorry Ally, but it looks like your cookies are all gone!"

Quixana looked into his bag. Only one cookie left. He screwed up his face, hesitating for a moment. Then he looked back up at Alouette's distressed expression. He sighed and dug out the lonely, little cookie. "Aloo?" he asked as he handed it over. "You can have my last one."
"That's my good boy." Cressida beamed and leaned over to kiss his cheek.
Meanwhile, Courage stood and bumped her Forgotten's foot with her head. Proud of you. There are more cookies and milk at home, anyway.
