Rav rapped his knuckles on the door three times in quick succession. Without waiting for an invitation to enter, he pushed open the unlocked door and stepped into the large apartment. Dispensing with pleasantries, he called out, "Are you here, Sabik? I have...things to discuss with you." He looked around at the nearly empty apartment and smiled slightly. No clutter. Made for greater efficiency and less distraction. He'd always like that about the 'kid.'

Sabik heard the knocking but ignored it, figuring it was an annoying salesman or something, and went back to his baking. He was dressed in a tank, shorts, slippers, and an apron as he plucked the cookie tray from the oven. He breathed in deeply and gave a sigh, "Mmm, sweets.. How have you avoided me for so long?" When he heard his name, Biki nearly jumped out of his skin and some how managed to save the tray before it fell. He quickly set it on the counter and put his hand on his chest, walking out into the hallway. "Jeeze! Why did you---uhh.."
Sabik's eyes went wide momentarily as he looked Rav up and down, this is the guy who took my job? ... I suppose he's alright. He sighed and ran his hand (which some how lost the oven mit along the way) through his hair, "Hi. Living room is that way, take a seat." He then moved back into the kitchen and took off the apron, sticking the food back in the oven to stay warm before coming back out. "Sorry, I was cooking. You kind of came at a bad time..." Now I have to wait a while before I stuff myself silly.

Rav nodded in aknowledgement of the information. He strode over to a chair and sat down, folding his arms across his chest. "I'm sorry to have interrupted you. I can return at a later time, if you so wish. I am here merely to make certain there are no bad feelings over the Battle Master episode. I did not ask for your job, so much as I asked for the position of Battle Master, but I won't deny my ambitions. If you wish, I can prove my capabilities, if it would assuage any concerns you may have." His voice wasn't monotonous, but it didn't vary much either. It was a uniform cool, leeched of emotions, and his eyes nevered wavered from Sabik's face as he awaited a response.

Sabik gave a shrug and crossed his arms, looking away. "You're fine. It's not like I'll never get the job...I just have to find a way to get rid of this stupid body of mine." He scoffed and went over to the couch, flopping down and crossing his skinny legs. "They don't care that I've been working in the same position since long before you were born, all they care about is my lack of physical strength and stamina. So I suppose it's "my fault" according to the leaders, but whatever." He rambled on a bit more before leaning his head back with another sigh.
"But still, they didn't have to demote me, put you in my spot, and then promote you without giving me back my job." Biki fiddled with his hands, "You talk pretty smooth. Has anyone ever told you that?" So smooth that it's arrogant and I'm going to smack it off o' him! He gave a cool stare in Rav's direction, showing a little more emotion than he meant it to. "Now I'm just a lowly one-magic trainer, and of flora of all things. There aren't many men who wish to do that 'girlish' magic, it's boring. No feasting, no fun."

Rav's eyes tightened slightly. So there was still an underlying sense of resentment in the 'child.' You could cut this tension with a knife... "I understand your qualms, Sabik. And I agree you shouldn't have been bumped down. YOu would have continued to be a very fine assistant Battle Master. If you want, I can see about getting you reinstated." He smiled slightly at Sabik's words, then inclined his head. "No, I'm afraid most people simply find my demeanor overbearing, not smooth." So the 'kid' wasn't intimidated, either. Good.

Sabik shrugged again, "It doesn't matter whether you agree with it or not, you still got the job and I was found unsuitable for it. 'Sides..." He got up and crossed the room, moving in front of Rav and reaching out a hand. He tipped his chin up and stared directly into his eyes, "You wouldn't be able to handle me as your assistant, little boy. I have disorders up the wazoo and if you aren't older than me, I'm sorry but I can't treat you like an adult." Biki let out a small chuckle before moving his hand to ghost down Rav's neck, "Don't you dare ask me to be positioned below you, I'll take my position as it is given by the Elder Masters."
Sabik quickly removed his hand without a care in the world, and went back to sit in his chair. After a slight bit of silence, he clapped his hands together and stood up, "Care for some tea? I have a batch made up that should be ready by now... Although it's a little on the sweet side, if you don't mind." All around, Sabik wasn't that bad of a guy, but if anyone younger than him started telling him what he can and cannot do..well..then there's trouble. And I should probably put a leash on that little quirk of mine.

Rav kept his eyes locked with Sabik's during the strange emotional tirade, and the almost-disturbing touch on his neck. He never leeched any emotion to his expression, but nodded at Sabik's words and rose. "No thank you, I'll let you enjoy you tea and..." he sniffed gently, then smiled faintly..."cookies, if I'm not mistaken. I will see again soon, I'm sure." With that he ducked out the door and was gone.
