Dear Leia,
These children are.. unusual. I don't know what to expect anymore. Aysel grew quickly, but she did it gradually. You know with the same sort of milestones as humans are recorded to have. Korin on the other hand grows in odd little jumps and starts. In between it's gradual yes, but..
For example, the other day he nearly doubled in size in just a few minutes time. I mean it! And then started crawling right away. I thought that would be the end of it for a while, but no. Three days later he started walking.
Did you know it's rather tough to devise a spell that will let Aysel, Pala and I down the stairs but not Korin. Particularly since we actually share DNA. Which is weird beyond weird.
Did I not tell you? He's our great great something or other reborn. One of our grandfathers (back a bit of course) brother who was left on this other planet. Yeah. @@ It's uncomfortable.
I'll keep you updated, Love, Tara

Growth Quest
Korin has unintentionally used a power he didn't even know he had. He's illusioned himself to look like something or someone else. Who or what does he decide to look like if it's a specific something or what does he change about his appearance? And what is the affect that it has on Tara and Aysel.

The day was overcast and gloomy. Dark clouds pressed in against the home and sleep had cast it's spell over the entire family, except for one toddler. Awake, and thoroughly bored, Korin decided to explore. With his new walking feet, it wasn't hard for him to break out of the slightly too small crib and over to the door.
The toddler didn't even think about trying to be stealthy, just pushing door between his mommy's room and his open. The door swung open quietly, not even reaching the wall from Korin's unsteady push.
Wobbling a bit, the toddler caught himself before he could fall, and headed across the room. Carefully, Korin stopped and crawled around the square on the floor. He did not want to chance falling into the pen by accident, (though it wouldn't have been such a big deal without Tara to activate it). Once past the annoying square Korin carefully stood himself upright and teetered to the door. A solid push got him nowhere, and neither did the next one or the one after that. Flopping down on the floor with a thud of frustration the toddler stared at the door morosely. How was he going to get out?
The question was easily answered for him, as the door swung inwards. Scrambling to stay hidden from the sudden intruder, Korin didn't quite make it, but in the end it didn't matter. One of the house's random residents, and that being said in all honesty, came waltzing in. Sandstone, a cat that occasionally deigned to stay with the ****** crossed the room and hopped up on Tara's bed. Curling around twice the cat yawned and closed her eyes.
Taking the fortuitous exit, Korin tried to hurry. It seemed like the house was beginning to stir and he wouldn't get a chance to roam free like this once everyone woke up. Coming to the stairs, Korin moved down one step at a time.
Downstairs was completely silent, the room's shadowed and dark. Walking next to the walls the toddler hunted around until he found the one door he had never been let into. To his surprise pushing on the door made it swing into the room and sent him tumbling.
Once inside... oh the shineys. Stacks of books towered over the toddler with artifacts hidden among them like special eggs hidden during Easter. Most of them gleamed with what looked like polished metal and sparkling gems that held and inner fire. Some twisted and twined and bent in odd directions. Others seemed no more than a simple stick.
Blindly curious the boy stood up and wandered into the room, staring wide eyed. Cautiuosly he approached a stack of books and tried to use it as leverage to pull himself up to see on the desk. A loud thud echoed the books protest at being used as a ladder. Sniffling Korin stood back up, trying to check his elbow for a boo-boo. If he couldn't see it, it must not be there so the ever curious god of Illusions continued to poke around.
Finally on the other side of the desk he found a chair. This one didn't move around as he pulled himself up and proudly the boy surveyed his domain. There were even more strange artifacts on the desk. Just as he was about to reach over and play with one of them the room flooded with light.
Sure he was about to get caught Korin froze, fear tingling down his spine (or was it somthing else?). His mother's face snuck around the doorway and just as he feared, darkened into a storm cloud.
"Aysel ******," his mommy thundered. "I believe I told you that my workroom was off limits. I trusted you to listen but as you have seen fit not to, you will be grounded for the next two weeks. Now march upstairs and go to your room to think about this." The boy froze wideyed, not entirely sure why he wasn't exactly getting yelled at. Quickly realizing the advantage of his mom's momentary lapse of judgement he scooted off the chair and towards the door. Was it him or did the floor suddenly seem farther away. Regardless, he silently scurried out and upstairs, finally stopping in his room. The now child slid to the floor, guilt drenching him accompanied by a tingle. Thinking his feet had fallen asleep Korin tapped them against the floor while he thought. Maybe he should say something.. On the other hand, grounded didn't sound like a fun punishment either.
Next POST! 'cause it's club time and I need food before I go.Korin illussion self as Aysel, (who's been in there) and Tara lectures 'Aysel' and grounds 'her'. Korin goes upstairs and poofs back to self. Aysel comes down and tells mom she's going to mall. "no, you've been grounded," "What?" ect, ect, ect.

Dear Leia,
Hello! How have you been? I bet work is...frustrating right about now. I'm sorry I had to leave so early after the 'incident' but I couldn't have left Niki's daughter all alone with all those kids. It's just as well, when I came back they were about to turn themselves into statues. While I'm sure they would have been beautiful I'm not so sure D-corp would have been pleased about it.
I'm worried about Aysel, perhaps you in your infinite wisdom could help me out? After finding them in my workroom I had a talk with Aysel about how dangerous playing around with magical artifacts can be. I thought she understood. But just this morning I found her poking around in my desk. She's always been good about listening to me ever since that incident at the beach. I..over-reacted I think. I grounded her for a week, no trips to the mall or phone calls. What's even worse is she's lying to me. I caught her there red-handed and she denied it and even talked Apala into agreeing with her. I don't know what to do. I don't want to ground her, she's already declared she's not speaking to me and that I am the worst mother ever, and she hates D-corp for forcing me to take her in. I know Madame trained me to ignore insults but I don't know how much more I can survive of this. Please. Ask Mom what I should do...
Other than Aysel's sudden rebellion, Korin's grown a bit too. And now he seems to be getting shy, particularly with Aysel. Which is odd, I know they haven't been buddy buddy but it's be like you suddenly being scared of our dear bird-brained brother. Human children are so.. strange. I know we weren't... We were just michevious. I'll send you a new picture of them but right now I've got to see if I can get Aysel down to eat supper with us.
Love,
Tara

A Note From the Samadueanna After Korin had turned child a strange note from the ship had appeared on her workroom desk
Dear Tara, Um.........the ship's computer blinked and said that Korin turned child so we need you to come up and register him for classes on the ship. It seems that they turn into children after 3 weeks of being toddler and using one of their powers somehow. As Korin was god of illusion it would be logical that he'd turn into someone. So um.....who and or what did he turn into? biggrin Call us to arrange to get ported up or whatever. Rouge

As the family arrived back home, a small pearly pink blur darted under the couch. No one but Apala noticed it but, when the dragon tried to tell Aysel she just swatted him away.
With a heavy sigh Tara flopped onto the couch, not hearing the small squeak from under there. "Aysel, I need to talk to Korin alone. You and Apala please wait for me in your room," the woman announced glancing at Korin.
A deep frown creased the luna moth's face. "No. You said we'd have the run of the house while grounded. I'm not going," she emphasized with a stomp of her foot. Growling in disagreement, Apala tugged on Aysel's skirt. With a swat at him the luna moth growled back. "I said no."
Tara straightened up and pointed to the stairs. "Go to your room," the woman demanded. For a minute longer Aysel defied her mom, before caving and stomping upstairs, Apala following her.
Korin watched quietly tugging uneasily on his shirt and trying his hardest to blend into the woodwork of the front room. Swallowing hard he started towards the door.
Freezing at the look that was shot to him, Korin decided to stare at the ground instead. "Korin," came his mother's voice, "sit down next to me." Reluctantly the boy dragged himself over the couch, recognizing the tone in Tara's voice.
Dragging himself up onto the uncomfortable couch the boy swung his feet, watching the ground. "Korin. I'm very upset with you," came the stern voice. "You snuck into my workroom, which is off limits, but most importantly you lied." Wincing he dug his hands into the couch.
"Look at me Korin. You knew that Aysel was getting punished for this but you didn't say a word. I'm disappointed in you. You will be grounded and take over all of Aysel chores."
The boy's head shot up. "But Mommy!"
"You should have told the truth," came the quick rebuttal. "Go to your room and think about what you did." Reluctantly Korin headed upstairs, followed by his mom.
Though her son headed to his room, Tara moved to the much larger room that Aysel and Apala occupied. Apala was curled up around Aysel, murmuring to the sulking girl in draconic.
The woman took a deep breath, and walked in. "Aysel..." The woman cajoled, gesturing to the bed.
With a flip of the hair, the girl snapped back, "Go away." Curling up into Apala she spread her wings to hide her form.
Ignoring her daughter's demand the woman sat down on the bed, facing the the two of them. Swallowing her pride, Tara fidgeted a bit trying to overcome her pride. "Aysel... I'd like to apologize." The luna moth swiveled around, jaw dropping open. "Ms. Rouge.. she had a tape of Korin disguising himself as you through an illusion. I treated you unfairly. Korin will be taking over your chores while he's grounded."
Slowly the preteen stood up. "Seriously?" the girl asked. "You mean.. You believe me?" Eyes beginning to sparkle, Aysel contemplated all the things she would do once she was able to get out the house. "Like... Pala and I could go to the mall?" She squeeed when her mom nodded. "C'mon Apala!" The luna moth raced out of the room, dragon following her excitedly.
With a sigh Tara buried her face in her hands, defeat deep in her posture.

Dear Diary, I don't really like school. I got candy on the first day but I don't get to talk a lot and Dia hangs out with everyone else. I'm scared I'm going to do something to them, steal what they look like and mess everything up. I don't get half of what the teachers are talking about either. I wish I didn't have to go to school.
Maybe I can convince Mommy I'm sick? I wonder if Aysel has any ideas.

Dear Diary,
I'm ungrounded! Trying to get out of school didn't work by the way. But Aysel has to do her own chores now. She's not to happy about that. She spends all her time in her room sulking. It's boring. Apala's sad to 'cause she's sad and Mommy's worried and it's not very nice around here. Stupid Aysel. Maybe she'll cheer up if I make her a pretty dress!
I'm going to go find some fabric now.

The wind whipped the trees back and forth as the rain pounded the ground. The sound of the rain was so loud it nearly drowned out the knocking at the door. Looking up at the new noise, Korin dropped his book down on the kitchen table. "Coming!" the godling called.
Opening the door the boy smiled in some confusion at the surprisingly dry individual stranger. "Can I help you, sir?" Korin asked, kinda glancing around for an umbrella.
The stranger wiped a lock of snow white hair away from his face and smiled back at the pre-teen. "Yes, I'm looking for a Miss Tara ****** Mom! Just a minute, I'll go get her." Korin replied, closing the door for a moment and headed towards the stairs. Hanging onto the stair rail, the godling shouted up the stairs. "MOM, SOMEONE WANTS TO SEE YOU!" he called before skittering back to the door.
The pre-teen peeked through the window at the stranger studying him. The man had brown hair, pulled back in a ponytail with a streak of white in half his bangs. A sharp nose and some funny blue tunic and pants.
Finally his mother came downstairs with a heavy sigh and a shake of her head. "Go up and see if you can't get Aysel to come down, won't you?" Tara asked wearily. Korin nodded grimly before heading up the stairs.
Slowly Tara opened the door and studied the dry stranger standing there. "I'm Tara, may I help you?"
The man gave a bright smile. "I believe you might," he replied, pulling out a manilla envelope. Tara's heart plummeted, fearing the man was a salesman or worse, about to blackmail her into taking care of another child. "My name is Taliesin," Taliesin continued oblivious to the sudden dismay, "and I believe that you have sponsored me though the G.H.E. program here on Gaia," the man held the envelope out to Tara.
Slowly Tara took the envelope, flipping through the papers inside. Looking up she nodded at the young man and stood back from the door. "Come in.."
Leading Taliesin into the formal parlor, Tara gestured for towards one of the slightly more comfortable couches. Sitting opposite the young man, Tara watched him carefully. He simply smiled back, either completely comfortable or extremely adept at hiding it. Finally the mage nodded and opened the conversation.
"Taliesin, may I inquire as to your purpose?" the woman asked formally polite. The clock ticked loudly in the silence that followed as the young man struggled with his choice of words.
"Well.. There was ... an... accident..." the man finally choose. "The uh planet is...." His voice choked up and he gave himself a shake. Forcing a smile onto his face, "No longer available.. And.. well.." Blinking sharply to keep the tears back Taliesin continued. "Due to an accident..." Unable to hold back any longer the young man broke down.
The mage sat there, stiff and still as the man sobbed. Finally she got up and patted his shoulder awkwardly. She was used to children crying but grown men? It was supposed to be something private and personal and here this stranger had broken down in the living room.
Slowly the sobs turned into hiccups as Taliesin got himself under control. Quickly the mage returned to the other side of the room. "Sorry," came the soft mutter from the man as he drew out a handkerchief. He blew his nose noisily and wiped at his face before putting the cloth away. "I.. need a place to stay, just for a bit. I was hoping...?"
Tara hesitated, wanting to turn the strange man away. On the other hand, she was his sponser and had responsiblity for him. Even if she had simply done it to look 'human'. "Very well," she finally said reluctantly, "You may stay until you can find your own place." The man jumped up and hugged her impuslively, a brilliant smile washing away most of the evidence of his tears.
"Thank you so much.. I won't be much of a bother. If there's any chores I can do or anything. Really." Taliesin blathered on as Tara shook herself, taking a step away from the impulisive man.
"Yes well.. Let me show you to your room," the mage said shakily, gesturing to the hallway.
