The Night Itself

T'bell took the offered half with a mumbled thanks, but stepped lightly on K'rels' foot when he called him 'little green'. Nevermind the blush that rose on his cheeks, it was from the wine.

"I think it would be amusing to see you strut around and puff out your chest." He chewed thoughtfully. "But I'd about die from the flirting."

The pressure on his foot only won a laugh from the brownrider, who knew good and well that T'bell hadn't had nearly enough wine to cause such a blush so quickly. "Amusing as it may be, I wouldn't want to kill you. Siv would have my head." He paused briefly to drain the rest of his glass, then looped an arm with T'bell's, steering him back towards the food tables. "More wine."

A frown that was nearly a pout crossed his features and he wiggled his glass as K'rel led him away. "I'm not even half done this one! Are you aiming to get me drunk?" He snorted quietly, "Despite how much you would act like Siventh, I doubt you'd ever get me to act like Lili'."

"But my glass is empty," K'rel argued as they wormed their way through the crowd towards the wine table. Once there, he passed the glass over to be refilled, meanwhile returning his attention to the greenrider. "Oh really? Who said I wanted you acting like Lili? As often as you deny the possibility, the thought never crossed my mind." Accepting his now-full glass, he took a sip, winking at T'bell. "Like dragon, like rider."

"I acted like her when I was a kid!" He protested, then made a face, "Minus the flirting and flying bit. I firmly hold that my inner dragon is a brown." He'd meant the whole stoic and detached and collected feeling that he though many brownriders portrayed...

But Liliath's private response made him blush scarlet and he stammered "Nevermind!" Before K'rel could get anything out, then took a large gulp of his wine. His mind frantically searched for something distracting to blurt out but he came up at a loss. "Oh shards."

"And I acted like Siv when I was a kid," he countered, making a face of his own. "Minus the flirting and flying bit." And then T'bell exploded with a 'nevermind', and K'rel nearly dropped his glass for laughing as Siventh passed along the green dragon's words. Quickly restraining his laughter to fend off stares, he brought the glass to his lips, not to drink so much as prevent himself from laughing further. Finally calming somewhat, he lowered the glass just enough to mumble towards T'bell, eyes teasing. "Your dragon betrays you."

"Yeah, I have mentioned him haven't I?" He grinned slightly at Khalin's almost slip, crossing his arms. "G'dor, I have no reason to go on being your alarm clock forever. Stick your 'courtesy' in your ear and stop flopping around like an fish in the bottom of a boat. Surely your dragon could tell things were going on, ask HIM to wake you up. I swear you'd sleep through the end of the world. The rest of us managed to get up on time, you're the late one...so maybe you should chew on that for a bit?" He pointed out, shaking his head. "I think it makes you look unshaven. Maybe if it desides to be a proper beard...."

"Green is an evil colour." The now-red rider cursed into his wine, finished it, and handed over his cup for another. His bangs hid his face, but unfortunatly not entirely. "I'd make her oil herself if she didn't complain so loudly."

He took his refill absently and looked at his feet. "I am part of a vast draconic conspiracy." He gestured to the blue on his shoulder. Zephyr was acting as decoration, eyes covered by inner-eyelids and only half open at that. "I have one to moniter me at all times, both report back, and I am chaperoned everywhere by the whers. Add to this all an evil overlord. I am outnumbered, outsmarted -though it hurts to admit-, and it seems I now must add you two to the list of suspects." He poked K'rel in the chest. "I thought we agreed their plottings would be turned to you, not me?"

G'dor's jaw set at the boy's slip up and scoffed laughter. Both fists balled at his sides as he sized the boy up... younger than him at least. He and R'ael had the bittersweet fortune of having been impressed a few years after what was considered normal. Just about all the others in their class were younger than they were. With G'dor's defensive nature it was a wonder he hadn't become a bit of a bully already.

He looked down to the little bronze trying to make a presentation out of himself, "...You know I hear that a brown...on rare occassions...can best a brownze." He answered shortly, looking smoothly back up to the new boy. "Best keep on your heels."

The "P" word... even HINTING it set him off. He glanced accusingly over to R'ael. "Unshaven...sure. It can't grow into a proper beard without being a bit of..stubble first." He of coruse didn't mention it had been weeks of trying. "Everything starts out kind of small and akward."

Despite T'bell's best efforts to hide his blush, it did not go unnoticed. But K'rel did not comment on it, nor did he speak throughout T'bell's lament on how, apparently, every draconic creature in the vicinity was against him. Instead he amused himself with following T'bell's movements and sipping at his wine. However, with the poke he grinned, lowering his glass long enough to reply. "You are far too easy a target. Apparently they've deiced to win you over before targetting me. More's the better."

"That almost sounded like a threat, little brother." R'ael answered evenly, drawing his broad shoulders tight as he raised his chin. "I'd watch yourself if I were you. You should know by now if you loose your head, so will your dragon, and if you even -start- on that path, dragon rank be damn, I -will- put you down for a few hours until your head cools. Do you understand me?" He promised, jaw set. "Settle down. Go get a glass of punch. Make a few freinds, get to know the people your brown might fly someday."

"Win me over?" He scoffed, "More like do away with me. I'd happily join in their games against you, except they haven't started them yet." He made a face, "It's because I'm short. You've got some intimidation to you." He waved a hand at K'rels' manly figure, "That and they're really all just frightened off by that scowl you have." A small smirk replaced the pout that had been forming and he tilted his glass to K'rel, "That is, the scowl that is apparently there unless you've had what, three? Four? Glasses of wine."

He peered into his own cup, "It's not so bad, once you get used to it I suppose. My tongue's traditionally very loose, so I expect this would make me more eloquent. You, however," He poked him again, then leaned over to snatch some food from the table behind them, "You could do with some tongue loosening. I've yet to see you put your foot in your mouth. That shouldn't only be occuring in Harpers. I demand equal shares among all the crafts, dragonriders included."

Caleten had a rule, one that kept her out of trouble, that rule was not to get involved in other people's problems. However, she couldn't help but hear the brothers conversation. She was just close enough that if she strained to hear she could.

She gained a new insight into R'eal, not that she particularly cared. It was slightly amusing though. So when she wasn't eating, she was listening and looking towards anything else. Few things were as bad as being caught listening in to something you had no business listening to. One of the reasons she stopped after a while.

G'dor ground his teeth as he eyed R'ael sharply. The words bit but he was right. He knew he had a bit of a temper. G'dor shot another poisen look to the boy in R'ael's company before allowing his eyes to fall back to the ground, rebuked. "I'll cool my own head...brother." He grunted softly, tucking his hands stiffly down into his pockets as he trudged himself away from the two.

The feline on his shoulder gripped to the leather as he stalked back to the punchbowl, ignoring the others around it for the moment.

Kahlin keep quite as the two brothers argued slightly pale at his slip. He hadn't ment to say the word patch it had just slipped as well as the laugh. And now it seems the other boy was not forgiving of a small mistake and was taking as if the world was out to get him. Starting with him.

Two points for R'ael though as he listen to the argument quietly. Eyeing the man as he seemed to flare with anger and those fist made him bite his lower lip. What was up with the brown besting bronze? So they could the Wery had a brown leader awhile a go. Was he being threaten?

Sonia set up a hiss as the tension rose, flaring her wings as she wrapped herself more securitly around Kahlin neck in a protective fashion. He reached up rubbing her to calm her down and make himself small and unnoticable in the process.

The glare though made him unthinkingly and childishly stick out his tongue at the white boy. Ummm that did not go well at all.

"Is he always like that or did I do something..."He trailed off scuffing a shoe and looking at the floor. Fasicinating floor.
