What Will Become Of This Thing Called Love?

Darkness swirled around the large male as he ran, teeth flashing from the shadows, pulling at his body as he ran. Pain lashed through his sides with each bite, blood flying behind him like a kite. The blood was everywhere, the teeth were EVERYWHERE.
Whimpers came from a large form as it twitched on the snow covered ground, white powder being kicked everywhere. Akamichi was having one of the dreams again, one of the ones that he couldn't wake himself up from because he wasn't sure if it was real or not. Wasn't sure if he really was being killed by his old pack members. His father... his father was the leader, his father was always there.
As he ran into the swirling darkness, the large husky marked wolf came to a stop, staring up at the blazing green eyes of the large white wolf before him.
"Father..." Aka moaned in his sleep, the dream slowly seeming to become a reality.
Moments passed as he stared into the fiery green eyes and it only took the next few seconds for the teeth to close around Aka's throat, tearing into him and letting his life seep out across his bottom jaw.
Two toned eyes snapped open and a loud yelp came from the red and white wolf. His body thrashed in the snow and he found his feet, fur standing on end and tail curled over his back. His breaths came short and heavy, his ribs rising and falling slowly.
He wasn't dead... yet.

The maw of the soft, brown pelted female gaped open as a giant yawn escaped. Sleep was hard to acquire and adjust to as the nightmare and disoriented visions that manifested themselves when she laid motionless alongside her imagination had led to nights where she simply laid awake, staring into the skies and marveling at the countless stars and thinking of her journey. Jaylin was still so young and she had yet to become a true Seer like her uncle Reno had become a Shaman. How she envied him!
But she loved him dearly and could not have been happier learning that he had been gifted with the healers arts as there was no other wolf who was fit for such a rank. Blinking several times as her ears flickered, Jaylin swayed her curly tail behind her as she strolled through the open, snowy territory.
"What a night," she tiredly mumbled, paws almost dragging across the snow as she tried to awaken fully.
As her cerulean orbs mulled over the same scenery of withered trees, snow, more trees and more snow, Jaylin glanced to the right not anticipating to see anything different or out of the ordinary. Swiveling her head in the direction, her eyes suddenly went wide.
It was another wolf.
Hastening in her steps, Jaylin ran towards the male. "Hey! Are you okay?" She exclaimed, barely catching sight of him after he had yelped and thrashed about within the snow. "Are you hurt?"

Two toned eyes darted to the form of the smaller female as she ran over towards him. The older wolf didn't care that she was running towards him.. she looked as if she wasn't one of them, one of the wolves that were trying to kill him. HIs sharp eyes took her in and made sure that she wasn't a threat before he allowed himself to relax.
Fur rustled over his body as Akamichi did sit, his eyes half lidding again. His eyes were bloodshot and his chest was still fluttering, but for the most part Akamichi was fine.
"I'm fine, don't worry." Aka said, his voice as smooth as it would normally have been despite having been in such a state. "It was just a nightmare is all, sorry to worry you."
Both of his ears dropped sheepishly as he took in the little female once more. Did she have wing markings on her back? And the marking on her hip intreigued him. What did it mean?
"Ah... my name is Akamichi.. it's a pleasure to meet you..." He trailed off because he didn't know her name and because his thoughts were still getting the better of him.

Padding closer towars him, the young wolfess settled before him upon her haunches. Her soft, cerluean orbs much like her fathers were tranquil as they washed over him- gazing upon him with much curiosity. She couldn't help but let her mind wander, prodding lightly within the outskirts of Akamichi's mind. To her dismay, her emotions became doused with fear and the sensation of her heart beating faster and her body tired from the fatigue of running fortold that this male, like he said, did indeed have a nightmare.
Were there wolves out to kill him? Who were they?
"Jaylin," she replied with a warm smile, her voice ringing sweet with happiness. There was something about Aka that intriuged her; something that caught her interest. The male seemed very kind and those eyes, his two toned eys, captivated her. She had never met a wolf with such gorgeous eyes!
"Are you from around here, Aka?" She questioned, cutting his name short as it seemed a bit hard for her to remember but Aka seemed just right.

"Jaylin.... that's a pretty name." He smiled softly at her. There was something pestering the back of his mind, something he couldn't reach out and touch or even feel all that well. Yet all the same it was there.
Clearing his throat at the other's question, Aka looked away for a moment, "Not really. I don't exactly of have a place that I could be consider being 'around' you know?"
It was true, for some reason he'd never found a place to belong. Sure he was with Eris's little group... but that wasn't even really a group right now. It was him and two other wolves, not really a home. Not to mention since he was so sick recently he'd been away from them so they wouldn't be sick and with the added problem of the wolves coming after him from his old pack he couldn't risk his new friend's lives.
Turning his two toned eyes to look at her again, Akamichi took in her form, from her puff of what appeared to be hair, to her curly tail and the marking on her hip. There was something about this female that made him want to inch slightly closer to her. She couldn't hide the broad, warm smile that trailed across her maw at the spoken compliment. Before she could speak, Jaylin could sense him picking up upon her presence within his mind an pulled out and away from the outskirts of Aka's mind.
"Thanks," she softly spoke with a sweet ring in her voice. Her curled tail continued to sway behind her as her attraction towards him seemed to be slowly blossoming. Jay didn't even really know who the wolf before her was- well, except for his name and the contents of his mind, but already she seemed to be on the brink of falling for him. Her ears perked forwards as Aka spoke, the maw of the wolfess pursing slightly as she tilted her head to the side at a minor angle. "You don't have a home? Or is it just that you're on the run?"
She couldn't help but slide that known bit of info into the conversation. Jaylin really was curious as to why he was avoiding those wolves she saw within his recollections and thoughts. Maybe she could help him?

Though she was quite attractive and seemed to be fairly laid back, Akamichi's eyes still steeled when she spoke of his mind. It took quite a bit for him to trust anyone that could see into his mind, after all it wasn't as if his mind was just there to poke at.
"So that was what it was then.... that poking at the back of my mind." His voice deepend even more than it had already been and the smoothness made it sound all the more mellow.
His two toned eyes flicked and he stared deep into hers. The older wolf couldn't read minds or anything like that, he could just tell by looking in their eyes what sort of wolf he was talking to and if he could trust them. This female appeared to at least care on some level, a lot more than some did, in fact a lot more than ANY had in the past. That gave him a sort of level ground to at least attempt to be jovial and accepting despite how much he wanted to ask her why she could sense his thoughts.
"No... in running I lost my home, in dealing a near fatal blow to my father I exiled myself before he could exile me himself. It's a pity that he managed to survive the fight but these things happen I suppose." Aka looked away from her eyes, shame pooling over his features, if it weren't that she'd asked and that she could find out herself if she REALLY wanted then Aka would have left her in the dark.
"And then with them following me around on my father's orders to kill me... it just starts to wear one down after a while you know?" A sigh came from him that was so heavy it spread his sides out wide and rippled his muscles under his fur. "That's why I'm marked for death, because they follow my father's orders..."
Of course the red and white wolf left out the part about his father being the one that mercilessly slaughtered his mother, that he had killed his brother and that he had tried to kill him as well. Aka didn't believe that this female needed to know that at all. No one really did.

Akamichi was a sensitive one.
Jaylin practically bit her lower lip as her curly, feathered tail swayed behind her in slow, side sweeping motions. Her ears folded slightly against her skull as her serene, cerulean orbs drifted towards the ground. Hopefully this wouldn't be an incident where she would be repremanded and scolded for using her powers. Lately, Jaylin had realized that wolves did not so warmly embrace either Seers or Shamans as their works and arts of 'magic' were seen by some as dark and evil. The male before her was attractive and she could only hoped that he didn't fit in the categeory of one who wasn't too fond of wolves who had been granted the ability to read minds and see into the future.
"Yes," she softly spoke, a little embarassed as the adolescent leveled her vision with the males, "I am a Seer- well, I'm still training to become one. I didn't mean to prod your mind, really. It was instinct."
Her ears seemed to perk forwards as she listened with great intent; each spoken word and description sinking into her thoughts as the recollection of his memories that she had witnessed within the depths of his mind resurfaced within her own thoughts. So, his own father and his loyal followers were seeking to kill him? That certainly was not pleasent!
"Those wolves I saw in your memories, they are the ones that want to kill you aren't they?" Her brows furrowed slightly as a frown slid onto her maw. How could ones father turn against his own son? It seemed heartless and cruel; something that perhaps Jaylin could not completely fathome. Could hatred and distress, feelings of inadequcey really consume even a fathers heart for bloodlust? It seemed that even hearts of the fathers could turn against their own flesh and blood and even thinking about such circumstances made Jaylin's stomach knot and churn in a sickly, heavy manner.
The wolfess pursed her lips slightly as she glanced to the side, thoughts romping around her head as she tried to find a solution. There had to be a way she could help him! If only she could fortell-

"There is a way to rid of such a mark, even the mark of death," she began with a mysterious lure within her voice, "if you know how to stay one step ahead of death." Watching her closely as she fidgited, Akamichi found himself almost chuckling. Her appology was unneeded after all, he'd just told her all about his past, or at least the nicer part of it. If she felt like probing it was fine at this point, the red and white wolf didn't exactly have anything to hide from her after all.
"Instincts are instincts, prod away. I don't mind so long as you at least give me a little warning first is all." Aka shrugged his red shoulders a little and smiled kindly at her. The pretty little thing seemed to be deep in thought at the time, deep in thought and also seemed to be sad with something that looked like... confusion?
"Yes they are... always the same wolves as well. My father's loyal followers and one of my sisters." The large wolf shook his head with an evident inward sigh. His large chest rose and fell with each breath that he took and the muscles rippled under his shaggy fur.
Both of his ears shot forward at her newest statment though. Removing the mark of death from upon him by staying one step ahead? His white was his mark of death, his white that wasn't entirely red like his father had wanted, like his father had killed and fought to get and preserve. And then.... this.
"If there were a way I could honestly say I don't know it little one. But if you have a plan I'd at least be willing to hear it." Akamichi said, gazing down at the pretty female before him with his shocking eyes. She wanted to help him? That was a change... even more of a drastic change than her caring about him in the first place and THAT had beeen a bit much for him as well.
"So you want to help me do you? And why is that?" He didn't ask because he was suspicious, he asked out of simple curiosity. She wasn't the color of a single member in his pack, she couldn't be, she'd have been killed almost immediatly for her lack of red.

A flush of pink seized her cheeks as she sheepishly smiled while her tail wrapped around her body. "Oh, I'll give you warning," she added, scooting closer to him as she honestly couldn't help herself.
Seeing his reaction, Jaylin gave a smug smirk as her tail thumped behind her. Whether some would truly believe it or not, there always was a way to divert from death although, in most cases, it required one who could predict and forsee it's move before it could strike and sink it's fangs deep into ones neck and certainly taking ones very life. For being a Seer, Jaylin could at least help in trying to perserve his life and fending off his father and his lackeys with the help of her newfound abilities. It would be difficult but it was better than letting the male be sentenced to death.

"Little one?" She repeated with a soft chuckle. "I'm not a pup, Aka. Let's forget about calling me 'little one'. Jay suits me just fine," inching her muzzle forwards, she gave him a delicate and quick lick upon his muzzle. perhaps that would help seal his memory into not calling her 'little one'.
Jaylin nodded as she grinned. "Of course I want to help you, silly. If I didn't, I wouldn't have said anything." Her brows knitted slightly as she pursed her lips. Oh, she had a plan alright.
"It's simple, really. We can predict or try to predict their progress and how hot on our trail they are and we can throw them off. If I tag along with you, we can avoid them and spare your life while keeping your father and his lackeys stumped."

Biting her lower lip, the wolfess smiled tenderly. "Because I think you've stolen my heart from when I first saw you. And to see you die by your fathers hand is something that would tear me apart and I'd never forgive myself knowing I could have helped save a life."

Her eyes interlocked with the two toned eyes of the red and white hued male before her. Akamichi; there was certainly something about the male that felt as if she couldn't turn away from him, as if something was pressing her to stay near him. Though she was getting to know him better- the male made her feel safe, warm and protected. The belief that nothing else mattered and that all was well when she was near him had simply captured her heart and had let him take it.
"And I'll guard it with my life," she whispered softly, a warm, tender smile drawn upon her maw as she nuzzled against him. Even burying her muzzle within the midsts of his thick coat made her heart swell! Jaylin was helplessly falling in love and she couldn't have asked to fall for a better male.
Watching as Aka suddenly seemed to freeze in place for a few moments, Jaylin knitted her brows and tilted her head to the side at a slight angle. Was he okay? Or did she make a move too fast on him? Padding closer as her nose pressed tenderly against his, Jaylin giggled. "Are you okay, Aka?" Before she could even utter a word, the red and white hued wolf collapsed right in front of her. Her jaw practically dropped as her ears perked forwards, a slightly distressed expression hung upon her maw.
He wasn't dead that was for sure but-

Jaylin laughed softly as she sunk onto her stomach and nuzzled him. "Oh, Aka. Love is so sudden isn't it? It makes even the strongest of hearts and bodies quiver, doesn't it?"
Creeping beside him, Jaylin grinned as she curled up beside him. She couldn't be sure on when he'd awaken from his sudden faint but, not wanting to sit there and onlook the wolf in a stupor manner, Jaylin wanted to feel his warmth against his body and be beside him when he would awaken.
"And I'll guard it with my life," she whispered softly, a warm, tender smile drawn upon her maw as she nuzzled against him. Even burying her muzzle within the midsts of his thick coat made her heart swell! Jaylin was helplessly falling in love and she couldn't have asked to fall for a better male.
Watching as Aka suddenly seemed to freeze in place for a few moments, Jaylin knitted her brows and tilted her head to the side at a slight angle. Was he okay? Or did she make a move too fast on him? Heat at his back roused him from his fainted stupor, making him murr silently from the feeling. Normaly it was simply his thick coat that kept him warm, his fur was never this warm though. So why was he suddenly hot?
Lifting his head to glance over into the shocking eyes of the female beside him, Aka froze a little, there was Jaylin, there was the wolf that...
Had said she loved him.
The reaction was almost the same when he remembered her words, but this time he didn't faint, instead his heart swelled so hard and so wide in his chest that he almost felt like it would just explode from his chest. She loved him... someone loved him. Was it possible? Was it real?
"Jay...." He said slowly, his once silky voice suddenly thicker than was normal. "Are you... sure?"
His eyebrows pulled together slightly as he felt the heat coming from her body and her scent swarmed his nose. She smelled of pine and of heat, of love and of future. Was it possible for a hunted outcast to let his heart swell like this for another? Was it even wise?
No matter what, Aka didn't entirely know the answer, but he did know that he wanted to find out if what she said was true. Wanted to see if it was possible, wanted to take the chance.

Her ears flickered as Aka shifted, his body pressing against hers in a way that almost made her heart skip a beat. The soft, serene eyes of the wolfess drifted over to meet those of the red and white hued wolf, staring into his two toned eyes as the same comforting and natural feeling of belonging overcame here so strongly once again.
"I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it, Aka," she sweetly replied, her muzzle burying deep into his shoulder.
Jaylin breathed deep; intaking his scents and his auroma as her sensations and her emotions seeemed to overwhelm her and causing her to become washed in strong desires and impressions. But Jay wouldn't give in to such temptation too easily- she knew better and Cellen had advised her not to let such strong yearnings control and consume her. He of all wolves knew best of temptation and it's undoings; the punk wolf was weak as well and had fallen to their will before but he was reformed and it certainly would pain him to see his only daughter make the same mistake he did.

Maybe it was those seer powers, maybe it was the heart she had that seemed to be so large he could see it outside of her, figurativly speaking of course. Did she really love him?

Love was such a mysterious thing; it was something that could stir the darkest of hearts into awakening and could ease the pains of the past and open up ones true self for the world to look upon. Love was elusive but, once the individual found it, one could be certain that it was certainly it. Jaylin knew what love is- she wasn't oblivious and, for the most part, these feelings that were aroused within her were more than a sign.
Staring up into his two toned eyes, Jaylin smiled warmly as Aka tenderly licked her cheek and her ear. "Aka," she softly spoke as she nibbled upon his ear, "I don't need the powers of a Seer to tell whether or not I've found the male who I want to be with forever. I found you and, yes, I love you."
Aka was more than perfect; Aka was, in her eyes, someone who could understand her and someone that she would willingly spend the rest of her life with.
Nuzzling deep into his fur and intaking his luxurious scent that seemed to stir deepened emotions within her heart, Jaylin brushed against him and closed the distance between them. "Somehow we found each other, destiny brought us together to aid one another on our own paths. I will protect you, Aka, and I will love you forever."
