Synopsis:A party for Cervus leaves Saevire tongue...er...tail-tied!

SCREEEEEEAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!

Saevire let out a heinous shriek as she hit the floor. The red-furred Thule had just stood up to go help Sajhiri bring the cake and ice cream out of the kitchen and found herself yanked backwards a step from her chair. Her backside WHUMPED against the floor, and amid the sound of giggling from the two babies next to her, she spied the cause of her sudden inability to walk.

Her tail had been tied in a knot around one of the spokes on the back of her chair. She flashed a furious glance at the two children, but her ire focused on one in particular. Naeva was smiling at her in an unnaturally calm manner as Rebecca laughed and clapped. She began to shriek at the adopted child, who continued to look at her calmly.

Sedare moved to her side and began to gracefully and calmly untie the knots in her twin's tail. "Now now, sister, I'm sure she didn't do this on purpose to upset you. She likely saw your tail and just played with it because it was warm and soft."

Saevire glared at her sister. "She knew what she was doing. She's not normal I'm telling you! She's deliberately bad!"

Sedare chuckled. "Oh yes, I'm sure a tiny bad is completely aware that she's doing something to hurt you. Really now Sae. She eats, sleeps, and poops according to mother. That's her whole life at the moment. Stop behaving like she's a criminal mastermind out to get you."

The knots finally came loose under the silvery Thule's coaxing and Saevire rubbed at her sore bottom grumpily. "I suppose you're right, but something still isn't ok about her." She glared once more at Naeva before her sister took her arm and began urging her towards the kitchen.

"Come now, we need to help mother with the dessert."

Locale:The Gardens of the Silva Regia Tower
Synopsis:The girls are banished to the gardens for an afternoon. An argument ensues.

Sajhiri had asked the girls to play outside in the garden for a few hours, since Rebecca and Naeva were cranky. The babies had contracted Pink Eye, and their whining and whimpering had driven Saevire to distraction. Sedare had not wanted to leave them, because she'd hoped she could help calm them, but Sajhiri just needed some space to deal with the two infants, and so had banished both Aduthule outside.

And so the silvery Thule was found kneeling in one of the planting beds with a gardening rake in one hand and a trowel in the other. She carefully extracted weeds from the bed of perennials. She carefully cleared the tangles from beneath the lovely, lavender-hued aster, the indigo bellflowers, and strikingly blue delphinium. With perfect care and unrushed patience she clipped dead leaves from the geranium, uncrowded the purple flam Phlox, and re-watered the spiderwort. The blues and purples of this planting bed were some of her favorites, perhaps because several of the blooms matched her eyes.

Her sister was quite disinclined towards the sedate and slow pace of gardening. Saevire instead was hunting down rabbits along the pathways. There was a warren beneath the largest oak within the walls, and it wasn't odd to see a bunny darting about through the underbrush. It was somewhat unusual to see a foot high, red and black furred Thule tromping after one yowling pirate curses and trying to poke it with a wooden cutlass.

Sedare startled as a young coney bounded through the blue verbena she'd been trimming. She sat back quickly, but not quick enough. Saevire leapt into the planting bed blindly, and thudded into her twin, bowling both of them over into the Blue Streak Veronicas. Sedare landed on her back with a whulf, her sister atop her laughing maniacally.

With a quirked brow the silvery Thule murmured "Perhaps we should put a bell around you neck so I can hear you coming. You've most dreadfully trampled the flowers, sister."

Saevire rolled off her sibling with a snort. "Who cares about stupid flowers!? I almost had that rabbit at last! Since mom won't by me a parrot I was gonna let him sit on my shoulder and teach him to repeat what I say!"

Sedare brushed off her tunic then knelt to rearrange the midly crushed plant they had landed on. "Rabbit's cannot talk, Saevire, and very few birds can mimic speech. If you read more books, you might know that. "

"Bah, I'll make it learn! Books are full of nothing but garbage written by people who want to feel smart! Mayne no rabbits have ever wanted to speak around people, so people assume they can't!" The red Thule crossed her arms over her chest irately.

"Nonsense, sister, they do not have appropriate vocal chords to simulate our speech. It's a biological impossibility." Sedare returned to her weeding, just in time to get a clump of dirt in the face.

"Why do you always have to ruin my fun you stupid know-it-all!!!" Saevire shrieked and she ran back into the bushes.

Sedare sighed and brushed the clots of earth from her hair. "Sadly, that was even a contradiction of terms. Will she never learn?" She returned to her patient gardening.

Locale:The girl's bedroom in the Silva Regia Tower
Synopsis:Saevire decides to build a better mouse-er-fey trap and catches more than she can handle.

Saevire huddled under her bed with a venomous grin on her crimson face. The trap had taken her days to construct, but now it was ready for use. She peered out from under the dustruffle at the elaborate array of strings and items strewn about the room. Near the door, a tape recorder was playing a loop of Sajhiri calling for Cervus. Inside the door a tripwire of yarn wood pull a small block of wood out from in front of a ramp on which Sajhiri's bowling ball rested, freeing it to roll into and close the door. Beyond that a field of litebrite pegs over a greased area of the floor made for a slippery surface that would direct anyone stepping on them towards a white handkerchief with the corners and edges laced through with yarn, yarn which was attached to the bottom of the magnificent elevator of Sedare's new Barbie townhouse, the old one having been taken over by Averno, the feien fairy. The cord which one pulled to raise the elevator had a bag of heavy marbles attached to them, which were set on a plank of balsa wood to keep it from dragging the currently grounded elevator up off the floor. The plank had a piece of yarn glued to it as well, the opposite end of which was firmly clutched in Saevire's hands in her hiding place.

Her patience was about to wear out when she hear movement in the hallway. "Sajhiri?" Cervus' voice called into the dim room. "What do you need? I had some things to d-oooyieeee!" With a yelp the heavily cloaked and hooded fey fell over the tripwire, yanking the wooden block out of place and sending the bowling ball careening into the door, which slammed shut behind it's weight. A loud clattering indicated the fey had hit the lite brite minefield and his shrieks reflected his inability to gain traction on the greased floor.

With glittering eyes, Saevire watched his shadowy form land on the square of handkerchief cloth and she immediately jerked the yarn in her hands. The balsa wood plank shot out, sending the bag of marbles floorward and the elevator upward, drawing the ends of the handkerchief together, effectively netting the fey and sending him into the air.

"YES!" She cried out in satisfaction, and scrambled out past the dust bunnies to claim her victim. She had almost reached the net when there was a ripping sound and a dark shadow dropped from the elevated handkerchief onto the floor with a clattering sound, like hooves striking the tile.

The fey king's cloak had been cast away, revealing him to be greatly changed from what he once was. His horns were no longer dainty indications of his totem, but he now bore a heavy, broad rack of antlers, the point count of which would give any hunter heart failure. His ears were deer-like, and reddish fur ranged along his shoulders and chest, as well as his forearms. His legs were no longer humanoid, but digitigrade deer legs ending in hooves. His fingertips were even little hooves at the tips. Most noticeable, however, was the absence of his wings. Moreover, when he landed he sprung in an enormous leap to the top of the townhouse. "Saevire Jihaar! This is your FINAL warning. Leave me be, or there WILL be consequences. I am not a toy, I am not your prey, I am the Ascended King of the Sun Court and I will not be trifled with by a CHILD!"

Saevire blinked, the tone of command in his voice held something more than threat, there was magic behind it. She felt herself compelled to obey. "Y-Yes King Cervus..." she replied mechanically.

With indignant fury still blazing in his dark eyes, Cervus leapt back to the door, and stepped into a shadow, vanishing.

The Aduthule snapped out of her dazed state and shivered. Perhaps less...magical prey would be better to capture from now on.

"I told you to leave him be, didn't I?" a familiar voice came from the other bed. Sedare lay there, watching her sibling with a small smile.

"You were here all along?!" Saevire demanded.

"You aren't the only one capable of hiding, sister mine." Sedare chuckled. "Now go to bed and consider this a lesson learned. But clean up your mess first. Next time ask my permission before you use my stuff please."

The red Thule grumbled as she set about dismantling her grand trap.

Locale:The Adulthule offices at the museum
Synopsis:Saevire and Sedare post invitations to their slumber party.

Sajhiri slipped into the office of Aduthule research with a cardboard box in her arms and a pair of Aduthule children at her heels. She shifted the weight of the container to get a better look around it at the empty desks. "Well girls, looks like no one is here yet, but I think we could use the bulletin board for the invitations."

Sedare beamed up at her mother and her tail flicked back and forth with excitement. "I am sure they will be able to find them there, Momma." She skittered over to the corkboard and began carefully picking matching pushpins from a clear plastic box to hang the items up with.

Saevire poked at her sister's swishing tail with her wooden pirate sword and lifted her eyepatch so she could aim better. "I don't see why we need to have a sleepover. I don't want the babies touching all my stuff."

Sajhiri knelt by the bulletin board and set the cardboard box down. She opened the lid to reveal a pile of invitations with balloons on them. Neatly printed on the front of each folded card are the names of an Aduthule pair. Inside, each one reads:

Sedare happily began tacking each invitation to the board in a large heart formation. She put blue, pink, or purple pushpins in place for each on, her violet eyes focused on her work.

Saevire wrinkled her nose at the invites. "I still think they're gonna make a mess of our room. This isn't a good idea." She flipped her eyepatch back down and began to fence with the back of a chair. "Buckle that swash ye land lubber!"

Sajhiri smiled, handing each invitation in turn to the silvery Thule. "I'm sure they're all well behaved, and the Sphinx and the Feien and Telenna will be helping us with the party so your things will be fine Sae."

Saevire snorted at Sajhiri's attempts to placate her, but she stoped vocalizing her displeasure. She continued trying to whittle away the chairback with her wooden cutlass.

Sedare finished tacking the last invitation to the board and smiled up at Sajhiri serenely. "That is everyone, Momma. I hope they all can come!"

"I'm sure many will at least, 'dare. Come on, lets get out of here and go shop for decorations for the party!" She grinned. The trio headed back out of the museum.

Locale:The grounds of the Silva Regia tower
Synopsis:The girls have an outdoor camping slumber party!

The Silva Regia tower outside of Barton town has been decked out in paper lanterns and streamers for the occasion of the Aduthule sleepover. The garden paths are lit merrily with colored lights, a campfire glows in the back yard, ringed with stones and logs to perch on. Near the fire a long table holds fixins for roasting marshamallows, pie irons and bags of bread ready for the various pie fillings and pizza toppings to make campfire pies, hotdogs, and foil wrapped potatoes. Bowls of chips, pretzels, and other snack foods are set out as well. Large jugs of Lemonade and water are set beside stacks of plastic cups, plates, and utensils.

Scattered a ways from the fire are several large tents, each one able to fit 4-6 Aduthule, filled with airmattresses, pillows, and sleeping bags. Each one has a battery-powered Coleman lantern to use for light.

Sedare calmly arranged the items on the long table with a serene smile on her face. The silvery Thule was absorbed with tidying items and didn't even notice the expression of pure glee on her sibling's face. She carefully turned the pointed ends of the marshmallow roasing forks away from the edge of the table.

Saevire skipped about from tent to tent, tossing pillows in. She'd worked on Sajhiri long and hard to get her to move the slumber part out of the girls' room, where her precious treasures might be compromised, to a yard camping event. She couldn't care less if flowers got trampled or the yard burned down, but she'd be darned if one of those babies would touch her pirate hat!

Sajhiri finished doubling the ring of stones around the fire for safety purposes. "Girls! Your guests should be arriving soon." She smiled at the excitement of her daughters.

Ecavi was walking calmly towards the Silva Regia tower just outside Barton, as some streamers and laterns indicated this is where a party was going on. She carried a small overnight bag with her, and was leading the day and night aduthule along at a slow pace. The nearer the more she chattered nervously to them.

"Myze," she said glancing at the night thule, "You have to remember what I said- you have to be good.."

The night thule glanced up at her guardian, but remained expressionless. She'd been warned, what happened with that black and red thule who'd broken her hair pin had been an example of what not to do. Of course, she had no intention of being nice if he was there- it was his fault her hair was braided.

Myze turned her attention back to the building they were approaching. Despite her apathetic expression, she was a little frustrated- she didn't like being in groups, and that was obviously the plan for this thing. The only thing keeping her going was the possibility of seeing someone she knew, and didn't mind.

Ceri skipped along beside Ecavi, overjoyed to be going somewhere- especially after her guardian had explained what was going on. She'd get to meet a bunch of new people, and that all she really cared about. Giggling occassionally along the way, she was too excited to notice the slight emotion coming from her twin.

When they reached the tower, Ecavi nervously stepped up to the front door to knock.

Hearing the knock, Sajhiri bustled off to the door to open it. "Welcome! I'm glad you could make it. The girls are outback, so come on through and feel free to leave your things in one of the tents. We decided to make it a camping type sleepover!" She gestured Ecavi, Myze and Ceri towards the french doors leading to the grounds out back where the campfire could be seen cheerily crackling.

"Hello," Ecavi greeted Sajhiri, "Sounds like fun." She smiled and stepped in and to the side so the girls could come inside and head for the backyard as well.

Ceri gaped at the inside of the house- it was different from all the other houses she'd seen (as she was coming to realize about most houses.) She immediately wandered away from the expected direction towards something particularly shiny or special looking.

Luckily, having visited people before, Ecavi expected this and caught her before she could harm anything.

"No, Ceri," She murmured, picking up the day thule to take her outside.

Ceri struggled in her guardian's arms, but soon settles for looking- until she'd led outside and spots the campfires, and tents. She gasped, starting to struggle once more.

"Alright, alright," Ecavi laughed quietly, setting her down.

Myze watched as Ceri went straight for one of the fires without noticing either of the aduthule that were also out there. She stepped off to the side, and just looked on. There were only a couple people there, she could avoid them all if she wanted to.

Sedare made her way calmly over to get between Ceri and the fire. She smiled serenely at the day thule and her tail swished back and forth in a soothing rhythym. "Welcome to the party. Be careful of the fire...it''s hot. But we''ll toast marshmallows and hotdogs later when everyone gets here! Would you like some lemonade?"

Saevire scowled a moment at the Thule trying to run to the fire. "Bloody crazed little bugger" she murmured before sizing up the darker thule. She leapt over and perched on a log, her eyepatch and cutlass locked in her room at the moment by Sajhiri. "Yarr...who be ye mateys?"

Ceri stopped her attempt to go to the fire when Sedare stepped up. She looked up at the silver thule as she welcomed her and began explaining some things to her. Not as interested in the fire, or the lemonade she was being offered, as she was the thule infront of her she ignored the little speech and started waving up at her.

Myze watched Sedare a moment before Saevire leapt towards them. She stayed silent, looking the thule over from head to tail, wondering about how she spoke.

Ecavi gave a small laugh, "This is Myze, and the other one is Ceri." She hesitated a moment before she continued, smiling, "And I'm Ecavi- I'll just put their stuff in a tent and be on my way. Does it matter which tent?"

Sajhiri joined the group in time to hear Ecavi and she smiled. "I'm Sajhiri, and this is Sedare, " indicating the silver thule, "And Saevire" indicating the red and black one. "You can put their things in whatever tent they wish."

Sedare waved back at Ceri with a smile. She gestured to one of the logs in front of the fire. "Would you like to sit?"

Saevire began tossing woodchips into the fire, spitting on them first so they'd make a crackle sound when they hit the flames.

"It's nice to meet you all," Ecavi said cheerfully, then moved to look down at Myze, "Want to pick out a tent, Myze?"

Myze glanced at Saevire and Sajhiri before nodding to her guardian- finding a tent would be a good excuse to stay away from these people. Her violet eyes looked over the tents. Finally getting to her feet, she followed Ecavi over towards them, taking her time at each one.

Ceri looked from Sedare to the log, babbling cheerfully, "Mehr char." She walked over to one of the logs and sat down on it- smiling at Sedare. She sat for a moment before noticing Saevire and the crackling fire she was beside. With a giggle she got up from her seat and started towards the red thule.

Lena looked at the paper again which announced the detailed address of the Aduthule sleepover. This tower had to be right. "Here we are boys." The mother announced as she carried the green and the blue Thule towards the tents. She desperately hoped that Gaspar would behave this time...biting people in public wouldn't help him to find new friends.

"Hello ?" She called as she spotted some unfamiliar people.

Gaspar looked around and eyed the pack on Lena's back suspiciously. They had brought HIS things to sleep on and hopefully nobody would take it away. Was it a party ? Did you get presents at parties ?

Carlos instead just waved with his tail and his hands, wiggling in excitement. This would be so much fun !

The expression on Saevire's face at Ceri's approach seemed to screech "Drat, I've attracted it's attention!" but she held her ground. She peered down at the smaller Thule. "Ye be a shiny one, arrrr!"

Sedare chuckled a bit at her sister's antics before she settled delicately down on a log herself and retrieving a sketchbook and pencil from behind it.

Sajhiri smiled at Ecavi. "The girls have been looking forward to this for days now."

Ceri, smiling widely, waved cheerfully to Saevire. Her smile lessened at the thule's strange tone of voice. She'd never heard anyone speak like that before! Did many people talk like that?

"Yeh c-tak dibert ad aw yeh tanle un?!" She babbled, trying to question her.

"Oh, Ceri's been looking forward to this," Ecavi replied, glancing over at Ceri's attempt to make conversation and smiling.

Sajhiri facepalmed at Saevire's theatrics. "For months now she's been under the delusion she's a pirate. I locked up her pirate gear for the party. I was worried she'd poke people with her wooden cutlass or make smaller Thule walk the plank." She chuckled a bit.

"Yaaarrrr!" Saevire responded to Ceri, squinting one eye up tight and raking her claws through her tail. "Maybe ye'd like to be a member of my pirate crew!"

Sedare continued to giggle at her sister as she began sketching the two new Thule who'd arrived.

As Lena finally spotted the other Thule she smiled. "Is this the right place for the Thule sleepover...? I'm Lena and this are Gaspar and Carlos." She pointed at the two wiggling boys, who were quickly put onto the ground before they could fall down.

Gaspar looked at all the others and as he didn't see the Crow he sighed out of relief. But...who was the shiny one ? How was anybody able to become so shiny ?

Carlos instead just smiled and fluttered with his wings in anticipation. "Cawos." He announced.

Ecavi laughed, looking over at Saevire and Ceri, "Well, that explains the greeting Myze received." She shook her head at the aduthule when she heard a voice from nearby. She turned about to see Lena heading their way, smiling, "Looks like more people are arriving."

Ceri, not fully understanding the proposition but finding Saevire's expression and tone amusing, nodded her response. If it meant she could go around being like her then she was all for it!

She makes an attempt to squint one eye, but ends up closing both of them, "Yaaah!"

Myze has sat down beside one of the tents, having claimed it for herself and her sister, but having no intention of leading her guardian to it since she does not wish to get involved. She watched with narrow purple eyes as Ceri attempts to imitate Saevire.

Sajhiri turns to greet the new arrivals and she gestures them into the circle of firelight. "Welcome to the party! I don't think we've met, but I do think I know these two little guys. Hello Gaspar! Hi there Carlos! The girls will be happy to see you." She smiled broadly. "Feel free to pick one of the tents and drop your stuff in it. We're going to start roasting hotdogs soon."

There's nothing Saevire loves more than an audience, and Ceri's rapt attention had the anger thule ecstatic. She made another funny face at the smaller creature, adding in a sneer and hunching over dramatically. "Shiver me timbers!"

Hearing new voices, Sedare rose and moved over to greet the arrivals. "Hello you two. I haven't seen you in a long time." She smiled softly at the boys.

"You met them already..." Lena blinked and frowned slightly before finally understanding why. "Oh yes, of course. They had two other guardians before." She smiled gently and because she knew that Gaspar would favour to have all of the tents just picked the one nearby to put her stuff in.

Inbetween Gaspar slowly crawled towards the shiny sunlike Thule. Should he...touch it ?

The liberal one of the two squealed happily as he recognised Sedare and started to applaud with his tiny hands. A friend !

Ecavi smiled at Lena, then realizing how long Myze has spent picking out a tent looks towards them. Catching sight of Myze sitting by a tent quite far away, she laughed, "I'll just take the girls stuff over to the tent Myze chose now." She headed for the tent Myze was by.

Myze watched as Ecavi approached her, and to make sure she knew which tent she picked out she pointed at the one she was sitting beside. She watched Ecavi set the bag inside of it, then turned her attention back to Ceri, who was being enlisted by Saevire and approached by Gaspar.

Ceri opened her eyes and stared at Saevire, giggling at the expression and the strange saying. Though she didn't understand it, she tried to repeat her anyway, "Siber me tibbers!" Surprisingly, her full attention was on Saevire, so she didn't notice Gaspar crawling towards her.

Sajhiri nodded to Lena, "yes...we'd met them many months ago at the museum. Sedare and Saevire have been out of their relic for over a year now. This is a bit of a belated party for that."

Saevire nodded in approval at Ceri, then eyed the crawling Thule approaching. "Avast! There be a landlubber off your stern, shiny one!" She pointed at Gaspar, sending him a wink along the way.

Sedare beamed at Carlos as he seemed to recognize her. She offered him a hand. "Would you like to come sit by the fire? We're going to start roasting hotdogs soon!"

"Sounds wonderful. I still need to learn a lot about them. How many people do you expect to come ?" The mother watched the pairs with interest.

The green hand had already been extended to grab the shiny tail gently as Saevire's voice shocked the greedy Thule. He wanted the shiny !? Gaspar hissed at first but then recognised the winking. This just had to be a secret sign...it surely meant take it ! And so the hand was quickly wrapped around Ceri's nice tail. "Mine." The Thule explained and grinned.

Carlos glanced at his brother and smiled as he took the offered hand. He was still quite wobbly on his legs, but after all he was able to walk much better than his brother. "Wommmm..." He pointed at the fire and nodded.

Ceri beamed at Saevire, pleased she'd managed approval. She started when suddenly Saevire said.. well, something- and winked behind her. The day thule turned around just in time to see Gaspar claim her tail. She gasped, this was someone new! He even owned her tail!

She waved at him, then remembering she was supposed to be a pirate she added, "Siber me tibbers!"

Ecavi looked down at Myze instead of heading right back over to the others, "Aren't you going to join them, Myze?"

Myze shook her head without taking her eyes off of the others, noting that the green one had a hold on Ceri. Ceri seemed fine with it, so there was no reason for her to make herself noticable.

"Not going to have much fun like that," Ecavi said, shaking her head. She headed back over to Sajhiri and Lena now, figuring Myze would go up to the others on her own time.

"Oh," she said, realizing she hadn't introduced herself to the new person, "I'm Ecavi, by the way."

Saevire hopped back down off the log and sat on it comfortably. "This be Gaspar, Gaspar this is my new crew member...er...um..what's yer name?" she looked at Ceri expectantly.

Sedare helped Carlos get settled in then began to spear hotdogs on the long forks reserved for cooking. She murmured to the liberal thule as she worked, "I love campfires. They're always so warm and cheery."

"Oh I'm not sure on how many will be here. I'm hoping all of the Thule will attend but I know people have such busy schedules these days." Sajhiri smiled "Ecavi, this is Lena, Lena this is Ecavi."

Ceri watched as Saevire made herself more confortable. She looked at Gaspar, then back at Saevire. "Gapar?" She repeated quietly, then she smiled widely and pointed to herself, "Ceri!"

Ecavi smiled, "Nice to meet you, Lena." She paused and considered the conversation the two were having when she came back over.

"How many Aduthule are there?" She asked- she'd met quite a few, but she didn't really know how many there were. She'd never really thought to count the tacks when she'd found the invitation..

Sajhiri hmmmed. "15 pairs I think...from the museum registry, so 30 in all?" She watched proudly as Sedare began prepwork for the hot dog roast.

Saevire grinned. "My crew member Ceri! We''re pirates you know..." she told Gaspar matter-of-factly.

Ecavi thought about the pairs she'd already met, which turned out to be very few, "Oh, wow." She smiled.

Ceri giggled as Saevire explained that they were pirates, still not sure what they were but amused. Looking back and fourth between Gaspar and Saevire, she caught sight of Sedare preparing the hot dogs. With a quiet 'oooh,' she abandoned all thoughts about being a pirate and attempted to free herself from Gaspar and go over to see what the silvery thule was doing.

Sedare bagan lining up buns beside the condiments for the dogs and she hummed a merry tune as she worked.

Saevire grunted at the loss of her new pirate's attention, but spotting the food herself rubbed a grumbling belly.

Lena smiled. "Nice to meet you, Ecavi. I think this sleepover is a wonderful idea, because so I can get to know most of the other guardians and all the other Thule." Her dark green eyes trailed over to the playing kids. Everything seemed peaceful...for now.

Pirates ? Gaspar didn't know much about pirates, he just knew about Ducktales and knew that Carlos loved Indiana Jones. But wait...pirates had gold, right ? "Haf golt ?" He asked while looking at Ceri's tail expectantly. If they had, he'd love to be a crew member.

As he heard his name he nodded and smiled a bit. He wasn't one of those cheerful kids, so a small smile was worth a lot.

"Cawos lofs camfires." The blue Thule agreed and looked curiously at the older girl. She was very nice, much nicer than the other people at the headquarter last time. 'Soooo much fun...' He told his brother and moved his tail as always when he was content. "Taste...good ?" Carlos pronounced every single letter very carefully to sound right as he pointed at the hot dog.

Ecavi smiles at Lena, "It is a good idea." She glances back over at Ceri, who was still on her way to see Sedare and Carlos, "I'm sure Ceri will want to meet all the aduthule she can, this will make it easier on me, I think."

Ceri turns around and looks at Gaspar, trying to pull her tail free from his grasp, "Wan go see dem!" She points over to the lighter colored aduthule over by the campfire- they were doing something interesting, and she'd never met that blueish one before!

Myze watches as Ceri struggles to get herself free, tempted to go and help her- though she knows it's not that bad yet. She just sits by the tent and stares. This wasn't as bad as Ecavi had made it sound like it would be. Of course, they hadn't been here that long. She folds her arms as best she can..

Ara stepped shakily up to the door, rather awkwardly trying to carry Lucas, Raul, their overnight supplies and her own, at the same time. She looked ready to topple over. Not knowing if she had to go by the front or head directly to the back, she decided to play it safe and ring the bell--dropping a bag or two in the process.

"Now, you two," she began, "mind me. Lucas, darling, no hugging people unless they want to and Raul, no biting! Behave!"

She pulled out the invite, checking it over again. Yep, this was the place. She waited, still holding the boys.

Raul huffed and clung to his brother, Lucas pressing back against him with a happy trill. He didn't want to have to share Lucas with anyone else, all these horrible people--maybe he'd even have to put up with that mean, long-haired Thule again.

Lucas was more than pleased they'd be going to a social event: it meant he'd get to meet knew people, and maybe see Ceri, too! He didn't like as much that Ara didn't allow him hug people--people liked hugs! How could they not?!

Rin pulled long and hard on her ciggy as she glanced from her car up to the house, and then back to the car. Was this really a good idea?

Rael was plastered against the car window with her nose so squished that it resembled that of a pig. She was pleading, desperate to be let out of the car. But naturally, it wasn't Rael Rin was worried about, it was the other one, the one that was sharpening her claws, and ripping the head off of her sisters dol...

"HEY!!!!" shrieked Rael as she happened to turn around and see her precious doll in the clutches of a raptor. "Let her go Kaz. KAZ LET HER GO!!" Frantic, Rael lunged towards Kaz doing her best to save the precious plastic lovingly known as Lilith. Once she was saved, Rael looked her over. One arm was torn clean off, her dress was ripped, her hair was partially falling out/off....she was a mess. Thoroughly pleased with herself Kaz scooped her belongings together, checked herself in the mirror and gracefully exited the car, leaving a tearful Rael behind.

"The most terrible thing has happened, Rael's doll has a booboo. Better save it mommy dearest. Kaz said snidefully.

Thoroughly fed up Rin turned to Kaz, speaking in a low, commanding tone, "Wait here." Walking over to the car Rin opened up the car door. "Come on Rael. Let's go to the party, you know it'll make you feel better."

"I don't want to go anymore. Kaz ruined her, like she ruins everything. I didn't do anything, I just sat..."

"I know you didn't do anything Rael, but since when has Kaz needed a reason to do what she does? There really isn't anything we can do." she said, trying to calm Rael's nerves. "Look, leave Lilith with me and I'll take her to the hospital as soon as the two of you get settled. Okay? What do you say Rael? You know I heard there's going to be tons of junk food, not to mention almost every other thule on the planet?"

Rael's faced lifted from it's place on her knees, a little sparkle dancing across her eyes. "Every other thule?" she peeped.

"Just about." Rin smiled.

"Okay, I'll go. But you promise to take Lilith?"
"I swear on the sea itself."

Rael grinned and jumped out of the car. "Just leave your things."

"But...?"

"Don't worry, they'll get to the party." she said as she wiped away Rael's tears. As the two of them made their way past Kaz, who was getting more and more irritated by the second, Rin leaned over and stopped Kaz. "Be a dear and get Rael's things won't you." she asked, without really asking, before continuing on up to the house. Kaz was about to utter an "I don't think so" when Rin whipped around and shot her a menacing glance, one that Kaz was all too familiar with.

"I'm going to kill that stupid purple bird...one of these days..." she mumbled to herself as she headed back to the car, roughly collected Rael's things and trudged on up after her sister and guardian.

Once closer to the door, Rin could see that another owner had just arrived too and was waiting, aduthule in hand, for the host to answer the door. Rael tugged on Rin's pantleg. "Yes, I know. We've never met them before. Might as well introduce ourself now right?" she smiled. Rael grinned, nodded eagerly, then sped off to greet the new aduthule. She so hoped they were friendly, at least one anyway.

Clearning her throat Rin smiled. "Hello there. My name is Rin, and this here is Raelhemn, and that one all the way down there is Aikaz. I imagine you're all here for the party too? Can I give you a hand with anything?"

Sajhiri excused herself from her conversation with Lena and Ecavi and moved back through the tower to the front door. She opened it with a smile. "Welcome to the slumber party, please head through to the back. Have the Thule drop their things in a tent of their choice, we're about to start roasting hotdogs over the campfire!" The woman was cheerful as she escorted Arach, Rin, Lucas, Raul, Rael, and Kaz through the tower to the brightly dancing campfire out back.

Sedare finished spearing hotdogs and aligning buns and the silvery thule handed one of the forks with it's skewered meat product to Carlos, and another to the approaching Ceri. "Come now, lets sit on a log and I'll show you how to cook those in the fire." She grabbed one for herself and settled comfortably leaving room to either side of her for the pair of younger creatures.

Saevire grinned at Gaspar. "I think I smell food...come on!" She leapt off the log and sauntered with a piratey swagger over to the buffet, plucking two skewers off of it, one for herself, and one for Gaspar.

Lena smiled as new people arrived and waved her hand in a greeting manner. Her eyes examined the new Thule in a friendly but curious way. They looked so different alltogether !

Gaspar followed the wonderful shiny Thule towards the others on his legs carefully. He held the girl's tail like a treasure. Awesome pirate people.
But as Saevire offered him the skewer the little green one looked puzzled. Which was better ? Tail or food...?

Carlos nodded happily and sniffed at the newly produced meal. "Wonnefewl...!" He announced and beamed a smile at his new best friend. That's what he just decided, Sedare was awesome.
And as Ceri appeared the liberal one was even happier. "Wan' ?" He asked and offered the present to the new arrival.

Sajhiri retrieved some skewers for the new arrivals and proceeded to pass them out. "Just have the children sit around the fire and Sedare will help them roast their hot dogs. If they don't like meat, I also have veggie dogs available."

Sedare carefully held her long grill fork over the fire so the flames didn't quite touch the hotdog dangling from it, but came very close. "It's kind of like a game, see how close you can get the hot dog to the flames, without letting it get burned by them. When you see the skin bubble a little, or smoke wisp up off it, it's time to turn it to toast the next side."

Saevire perched on a rock and she stuck her hotdog right into the conflagration of flames, but yanked it out again at her sisters words. She blew out the flames dancing on the dog and frowned at the burnt spot. "Stupid campout. Stupid fire." she muttered.

Ecavi nods when Sajhiri excused herself. When the newcomers arrive in the backyard, she smiles- recognizing Arach, Lucas and Raul. Ignoring the fact Myze would probably be angry that Raul was there, she waves to them. Her gaze wanders to the others, having never met the angelic and demonic aduthule before.

Ceri babbles cheerfully, taking the fork from Sedare and staring at it for a moment. Her attention turns momentarily to Carlos- who is offering his to her. She smiles widely and takes it from him- in time to see Saevire and Sedare's 'good idea-bad idea' demonstration. Still smiling, she turns on the campfire and holds out her hotdog.

Myze now has her attention on the people just coming into the backyard, being handed skewer by that.. person who opened the door. Her narrowed eyes rest on Raul- she just knew he'd be here.

Sedare carefully turns her hotdog, showing the other Aduthule that the first side is nicely browned but not blackened. "As long as you are patient, you will have a perfectly cooked hotdog...just slightly crisp outside. Yummy!"

Never one to be patient like her sister, Saevire decides a little charring isn't all bad. She shoves the hotdog into the coals, glaring at her sibling for being too perfect. Her hot dog crackles and burns to a nice, toasty black. She yanks it back out and blows out the flames. "Or if you're, you know, HUNGRY, you can learn to like charcoal flavor." She struts to the buffet to put her hotdog into a bun with lots and lots of ketchup and mustard to cut the burnt flavor.

Gaspar watched everything and decided that he could get the shiny Thule's tail later again. At least she didn't mind that he possessed her now. So he grabbed the fork quickly and held the hot dog into the fire. What was the right way ? Thinking about it for a moment he decided that he would do it the pirate way and allowed his hot dog to burn.

Clapping his hands and smiling Carlos smiled at Ceri. How wonderful that she accepted his gift. Sadly he hadn't a fork left for the darker one called Myze and all the new arrivals. But of course Sedare would take care of this. "Yoo...petty." He said to Sedare and smiled again before turning to Ceri and Myze. "All petty." Sharing comments was just as good as sharing things.

Saevire grinned at her cohort in hotdog burning as she chomped into her dinner with gusto, then shrieked when she burned the roof of her mouth with it. She quickly poured herself a glass of lemonade and slugged it back.

Sedare looks touched by Carlos' words and she smiles softly. "Thank you...that is very kind of..." She blinks at Saevire's antics and says quietly, "As you can see, it's best to wait a little bit before eating it as it will be very hot."

Ceri holds her fork out to the fire, and though she had listened to Sedare's directions she seemed to forget or ignore them as half of the hotdog went into the flames. She watches intently as the hotdog cooks, "Oooh.."

With a crackle, the hotdog catches fire. Not noticing it right away, Ceri keeps it partially in the fire before pulling it out to see if it's done- only to find that it's ablaze. She gasps and drops her fork- the silver one said it wasn't supposed to catch on fire! And now it was on the ground.

"It on fieh," she murmurs softly, looking at Sedare and pointing to the burnt hotdog.

Pippin lept, skipped, and jumped when the opportunity came his way to lose the twins for a night. One less kid meant a better chance of a good night's sleep, to be cynical enough. Carrying them separate from one another, but close enough to remain within the halos' reach, he emerges onto the scene very optimistic and cheery.

"Hello, hello!" he chimes, greeting all in one happy, musical sound. "I've brought two more visitors to join the fun."

Crow snorts, squirming rudely away from the others, shrinking into his jacket. Nothing like this can ever result in good things, he has deduced, clawing his way against his father's shirt in hopes to escape the noisy, busy people. He refused to bring anything along, thus arriving with merely the coat on his back.

On the other hand, Mythos was relieved to come, almost too excited in fact. With more people around, he could easily slip under the radar of the halos and possibly have some fun. He sighs softly at the concept, nuzzling his tiny backpack before swinging it gingerly over his wings. They flutter and extend appropriately to avoid any sort of crushing.

Pippin puts Mythos down first before removing Chronicles from his sleeve, dropping his next to his brother. The strain of the halos, even at that height, is evident, Mythos having to lean up on his toes with a wince before his brother finally let go. No doubt, the halos played a factor in his decision.

Stupid, annoying halos. That's one thing they can both agree on.

Gaspar instead enjoyed eating his burnt hotdog slowly. After all it was his and even if it didn't taste as good as some other things, he would eat it. Possessions couldn't be given away. Quickly he grabbed another fork and looked out for a new sausage. He needed more even if he wasn't interested in eating them. "Pie rats ?" His eyes turned to the red girl asking for some new stories.

But just in this moment Mythos and Crow arrived....and suddenly all the happiness vanished from his face. The monster who wanted to steal friends was back !

Picking up another fork Carlos held the hotdog into the fire just like Sedare did before. He concentrated a lot and shifted it once in while. Just as it looked right he held out the fork to Ceri and smiled his brightest smile. "Fo yoo." Perhaps she would be happy now ?

Ceri looks from Sedare, though still pointing at the hotdog, and looks at Carlos- who's holding out a well cooked hotdog to her. She immediately brightens, this thule was really nice! And, not questioning his offer or really thinking that it's his so he should keep it, she takes the fork, "Tanku!"

With a giggle, she turns to show it to Sedare and then goes off to where Saevire went when she'd finished cooking her hotdog. She holds up the fork to show Saevire she has a hotdog now, not sure what to do next.

Myze moves her glare from Raul to the strange new arrivals- they had circles floating above their heads and it looked like they couldn't really move away from them. It was interesting, but it didn't mean she wanted to go up the them. She continues looking around, Ceri's doing alright, so she resumes sitting out of the way silently- looking back towards Raul.

Latpas hefted the twins higher onto her shoulders as they gazed up at the tower. She glanced at the invitation apprehensively. "Looks like this is the place." Balancing the boys awkwardly, she leaned forward and knocked softly on the door.

Mathus scowled and flicked his tail back and forth angrily. He didn't want to be here. It was all her fault that he had to come. But... he had to admit, the tower looked a lot like one you would find a in a horror film. All scary movies had towers, right? And if there were people he could give nightmares... Maybe the night wouldn't turn out so badly after all.

Reve cooed and drooled absently on Latpas's shoulder. He'd been looking forward to this ever since they'd recieved their invitation. Lots of new people to meet and friends to make!

As Kay and her two new charges walked up the path to the door of the looming tower, their bag of sleeping things slung over her shoulder, she kept looking from the tower to the address on the sheet and back again. Yes, no doubt about it, the address was right, this had to be the place. But a tower? Must be someone pretty well off, or just a lucky inheritence.

Nuria bubbled with excitement like an active volcano as she trailed alongside Kay, her warm little hand gripped tightly in one of the woman's. She skipped and danced along, eyes darting around at everything but not really taking in much. She was going to a party! Parties were fun! And Danny had come too so it would be even better.
'This is so good, hey Danny?!' She thought privatly to her sister.

'Yeah....' Came back Danica's drawl reply. A party.... why would people want parties? They always seemed to be filled with running around and noise and pretty much childish things. Good thing she had given Kay the story book to bring along. She might be able to find a quiet enough spot and get Kay to read to her. Or maybe even that older thule she met at the museum who had read to her before. This was supposed to be her and her sister's party after all so she should be there.

Wandering up closer her concerns about the location were dismissed at the sight of another woman and two small beings very similar in shape to Danica and Nuria. Aduthule! Well, this must be it.

"Hey ya." She greeted the group of other party-goers standing at the door. "Guess I'm at the right spot. And not the latest person here either." She gave her a grin. "I'm Kay." She introduced herself, unable to hold out a hand or wave due to the fire and ice thules holding onto each one. "And this is Nuria and Danica."

Nuria bounced up and down, tugging on Kay's hand when she saw the other pair of thule. Grinning ear to ear it was obvious she was happy to meet the strange new Adu.

Danica however just stood quietly behind Kay's leg, watching them carefully.

Latpas shifted one of her backpack straps and wiped the drool off of her shoulder self-conciously as she greeted the newcomers. "Hi there!" She said cheerily. "I'm Latpas, and this is Reve," (Reve bubbled something unintelligible in acknowledgement) "And Mathus," She pointed over to where Mathus was lurking (supposedly), waiting to ambush unwary partygoers. Supposedly. You never really could tell with him. "It's nice to finally get to meet another guardian and their Aduthule!" She smiled down at the two Thule; the little light blue one looked like she could use a good conversation icebreaker (not literally, really!).

She leaned forward and peered at the door, wondering why in the world she forgot to bring her glasses. It was slightly ajar, and she could hear the sounds of laughter and crackling fires through the small space. "I don't think anyone's coming. Should we just head on in? Or go around back?"

Reve swung his legs back and forth happily, overjoyed to meet two others of his own species! "Isn't it great, Math? We're going to see lots of other Thule just like us!" He chirped mentally to his brother. He squirmed out of Latpas's arms and hopped over to inspect the newcomers.

"Oh, yeah, Reve, just fantastic. I can barely hold in all my excitement," came the scathingly sardonic reply. Mathus crept forward dramatically to reside a few feet behind their overnight belongings stationed at Latpas's feet. In truth he was interested to meet the newcomers, if only to learn the perfect nightmares to give them...

Ara looked around the yard, slightly worried: being in a large group of strangers made her very uncomfortable. When she spotted the familiar head of brown hair, however, she grinned.
"Oh, look boys! It's Myze and Ceri!" Relieved to have Ecavi to lean on, she wormed her way through tents and partygoers towards the bonfire.

"Ceii!" Lucas babbled, gesticulating madly and squirming for release. As Ara stepped over to Ecavi and the girls, and set him down beside his friend, he emitted a cheerful cry and snuggled up to her. "Ceii!" He repeated, jubilant.

Raul was...not so pleased. He, too, had been left on the ground, and was instinctively moving close to his brother. He could feel Myze's eyes on him, and his hackles raised. His tail beat the ground in his agitation; why did that stupid Thule have to be here?

Ara watched her boys vigilantly--she knew they could feel the heat of that fire, but she couldn't predict if they might accidentally move right into it. She broke away for a moment to smile at Ecavi. "Hi there! How've you been?"

"Latpas, Reve and Mathus." Kay nodded to each in turn, trying her best to remember the names and faces together. How many other carers were there? And how many other Thule? If they were all twins then that'd be even more names to remember!

"Hmm? Oh yeah, yeah it is. A comfort too, to know someone's in the same boat with ya." Kay nods.

'Hello! Hello!' Nuria cried in her head, waving her unheld hand at the other pair of thule and practically bouning up and down. The white one seemed very friendly and just as excied as she was.
'I don't think they can hear you Nuria... only I can, so keep it down!' Danny suggested, being alot still than her sister. She watched the other two. The pale one looked like he'd be just as active and noisy as Nuria. And the dark one.... well he just look villanous. What a start to the night....

"But yeah, I don't know if anyone's heard us... I can hear them though, out the back? Let's go around that way." And that decided she starts to lead the way around the tower, looking for the entrance to the back where the sounds of people and thule alike could be heard.

Reve flapped his tiny wings happily and cooed, "Niceda meetchoo!" at the fiery Thule. The blue one, Danica, the woman had called her, seemed a little antisocial, so he would let her warm up to him a bit first.

He flapped his wings a bit harder, impatient. If only he could fly! Ah well, soon enough. The Thule's tail was lying on the ground in front of him, blazing and brilliant. Intrigued, he poked his hand into it, and-- drew it back immediately! She was burning! Reve's eyes watered, and he put his fingers in his mouth to cool them off. He smiled bravely, not showing his discomfort.

"Good idea," Latpas said warmly, scooping up their overnight supplies, and Mathus, so he wouldn't sneak off.

Mathus scowled at being picked up, and gnashed his teeth furiously in his guardian's ear. He plotted over the two Thule... The red one, as Reve had proven, was very hot; on fire, it seemed. Something with lots of water would make an excellent nightmare. Or maybe something else... And the little blue one? Danica? He didn't know much about her. There would be plenty of other Thule to find nightmares for, so maybe this pair would get lucky..

Kay led the band around until she found the gate to get into the back. She had to let go of Nuria's hand to reach over and undo it though so she didn't realise or see Reve's unfortunate investigation of Nuria's tail.

Nuria opened her mouth and babbled something back to Reve when he spoke to her. It wasn't understandable in the least, but it sounded happy. She waited as Kay worked the gate, the newcomers holding her interest well enough and her hands giving little claps of excitment. But she didn't realise just how hot her excitement was making her body, in particular her wild firy-red hair and tail.

'Oh no!!' She looked shocked when Reve touched her and pulled back in alarm. She seemed almost as shocked as he did and she imediatly began to babble and gibber in a concerned tone. 'Danny Danny!! I hurt him!'

'Nuria! You're excited and hot!' Danica chided back to her sister. Giving a wriggle out of Kay's hand now that they were apparently where they were supposed to be, she headed over to the little dream thule who was putting on a brave act. Maybe he wasn't so bad. But silly Nuria! She always had to bale her out.

Reaching out to the white-ish thule with her slightly translucent hand, she firmly, yet carefully pulled his burnt fingers from his mouth. With a low murmer she repeated a word that Kay had said to them alot. "Ssop..." (( really she meant 'stop' )) and held his hand in her own cool one. It wasn't freezing or very icy, but certainly cool and soothing.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Lena and this are Carlos and Gaspar." The mother announced as the others arrived and tried to make a good first impression on everyone.

Carlos stared at all the new people in awe and blinked before greeting everyone of with a very broad smile. His wings started to flutter again. 'More people to share our wonderful food with.' Crossed his mind and he started to look at the new people. More girls, but boys too. Nice people it seemed.
"Cawos." The liberal one announced again and as he noticed that Ceri was hugged he wondered if it was nice to be hugged. Looked like it...

Quickly he opened his arms and moved closer to Nuria who seemed to be very happy and was just about to embrace her as he noticed that the other one had been hurt by doing so. Well...perhaps hug weren't right then...but he could offer a space beside him. "Wancho sit ?" He offered still not used to words at all. He also looked at the other newcomers in the same friendly way.

Gaspar wasn't too happy with more people coming and hid his new pirate possessions, called forks, behind his back. Some seemed as chatty and wild as Carlos, which wasn't too bad, but he prefered to look at Raul and Mathus. More of his kind probably..but probably as dangerous as Crow. But at least it didn't look like they wanted things...and what about the girls with stars ? Perhaps she was the best not wanting anything at all...His eyes looked at her in a questionable way just as he waited for her to say 'I don't want things.'

Latpas smiled warmly. Another guardian to meet! How exciting! "Nice to meet you too. I'm Latpas, and this is Reve," She pointed to each one in turn, "and Mathus."

Reve's mouth formed a tiny 'o' of awe as Danica held his small burnt hand in her own cool one, and.. healed it, it seemed. When she released it, it was still sporting some reddish burn marks, but the heat and pain were signifigantly numbed. He flashed Danica an appreciative smiled and murmured, "'Sanks." (He meant 'thanks,' but couldn't get his 'th' out yet)

Mathus smirked. More people. More Thule. More innocent bystanders just waiting to be tormented. He wriggled out of Latpas's arms and stole off to the bonfire, where they were roasting sausages. For a few moments he basked in the heat and glaring light before inspecting the others. Reve had, once again, managed to make a new friend by innocently injuring himself, like he always did, that purply-blue one over there seemed intent on making friends -he'd have to stay away from him,- but the green one... looked positively sneaky.

Reve plopped onto the ground, ignoring the places to sit, and just in general preferring the feel of the grass below him, and loosed a stream of unintelligible chatter.

Ecavi beams at Arach, following her over the campfires "It's nice to see you came!" She smiles down at Ceri, who'd abandoned the hotdog and had come over to see Lucas. SHe glances over at the others, but knows she can get to them later. She turns back and focuses on Ara, Lucas and Raul, "How are you all doing?"

"Lua!" Ceri squeals and clings to Lucas, it was nice to see someone you know- even if you love meeting new people. She starts off into a long, run on babble about everything she's done- finishing her explanation with a 'siber me tibbers!' as she tried to explain pirates but found herself unaware of what they were.

She grabs Lucas' hand and heads back to the table where her abandoned hotdog is and takes the fork- not realizing that her hotdog is already cooked she drags him back to the fire, "An a took da ho'dog!" She places the fork in his hand.

Myze watches by the tents, glaring at Raul and running her clawed fingers over her hair- still blaming him for the broken hair pin and mad about it. Ceri's distracted enough trying to show Lucas all she's learned already to notice that Myze isn't just slightly angry like she'd been before.

Unfortunately, there are too many people around- so Myze turns her glare from Raul to the newcomers, looking only slightly less irritated. There are way too many people here.

"Hi Lena." Kay nodded then motioned to herself and the two thule hanging around near her legs. "Kay, Nuria and Danica." She pointed out each. Looking around she noticed a fair few people, most wandering about and talking with others, a few sitting around the campfire. This was pretty neat. She gave a grin and turned back to Lena.

"Sooo.... is everyone here an expert in Aduthule? I gotta admit I've only had the twins a short while. Do they all come in pairs? The guy at the museum wasn't particularly informative. Sounded like a sort of new discovery." She looked around again. Alot of the 'parents' seemed very friendly and rather motherly... might be handy for babysitting or organising playdates when she had work...

Nuria meanwhile had quietened since her sister had come to save her. Well, save little Reve rather. 'Sorry sorry!!' She spoke aloud in Danica's mind as she tried to put it into words. It only came out as "orry orry!!" though. She had gotten herself really worked up before the party, which had caused her to become particularly hot to small delicate hands. Now her mood had deminished a bit so had her temperature, leaving her skin only as warm as if she were running a fever (which was perfectly normal for her).

Seeing someone else approach out of the corner of her eye, she looked around to see the pale blue-purple thule coming her way. She brightened at having someone else come to meet her and only drooped her tail a little when he paused just before hugging her. Still, sitting might be nice and she nodded, understanding by his motions what he meant with his words. Pointing at the logs around the campfire, she indicated just where she would like to sit.

Danica seemed pretty intent on her 'job' and only glanced up as Reve looked on in wonder. That should fix him. Danica wasn't too hot... he should feel how hot she gets when she's angry! Good thing it didn't happen often. She let his hand go when she felt it had been held long enough and gave a nod at his smile and word of thanks, her expression still rather blank.

Looking over to where Nuria was headed she gave a quick word of warning to her. 'Don't get too hot Nuria. I don't want to spend my night cooling off everyone's hands.' Then seeing as she didn't really want to go socialise with everyone over there, she plonked herself down next to Reve and listened silently as he gibbered on unintelligibly.

Lena was relieved as she heard that she wasn't the only new person around. "I don't have them for a long time too." She told Kay and smiled. "Seems like it though. I heard they come from some kind of...medals or relicts or so. But don't ask me what it's all about. Carlos and Gaspar tend to be very very different though." Looking at the pair she sighed.

Gaspar looked around once again as he suddenly noticed Mathus, who seemed to look at him. What did he want ? One of his possessions ? "Watchoo wan' ?" He asked the nightmare Thule and hugged his forks.

"Yoo look like tis..." Carlos pointed towards the fire and then smiled back at Nuria. "Petty...and wam..." He grinned and nodded to himself. The blue Thule had noticed that she had been sad about not beeing hugged and so he just took the risk hugging her slightly. She felt very warm...but not too hot gladly.

Seeing that Ceri was content, Ecavi decides to go see about these other newcomers. On her way by the tents, she scoops up Myze, "Come on, you shouldn't sit and glare. And remember what I said about fighting." She warns the night thule, and both glance towards Raul.

"Now come on," She steps towards Lena, Latpas and Kay intime to hear Lena's comment about relics.

Myze doesn't bother struggling, and instead turns her gaze on all of the aduthule. She'd already seen the blue and green ones- the bluish one had given Ceri a hotdog, and the green one had been clinging to her tail. The fire, ice, white and black one were new though- and it seemed the fire one really was hot. Her eyes narrowed, she just looks at all of them thoughtfully- more keen on looking than being introduced.

"You're all new to this, as well?" Ecavi asks, jumping into the conversation with a shy tone, "They do come from relics- look like little fox creatures curled around each other.."

Myze glances up at Ecavi, then around them. These people didn't know much about them, but then, what could she really tell them anyway. She crosses her arms and wiggles slightly, getting comfortable.

"Oh," Ecavi laughs awkwardly, "I'm Ecavi, and this is Myze."

"It's 'k," Reve mumbled hastily, not wanting to upset Nuria too much from his accident, and still awed by Danica's cool hands.

Mathus narrowed his eyes shrewdly. Did he want the forks? They didn't look very interesting to him. "Nuffin'," he muttered darkly. "Jus' tawlk?" ((What is this? Mathus not being horribly mean to someone? XD))

"New to it all as well, here," Latpas said absently, waving her hand.

Kay gave a smile when she heard Lena admit she hadn't been looking after her pair for long either. It always made you fell better about not knowing and being new if someone else was too.

"Relics huh? That would probably explain why they were at a museum of all places." She agreed and gave a grin and a nod when Ecavi and Myze joined them. "Well, they were up and about when I first met them."

Nuria nodded when Carlos likened her to the fire. It was true, her hair and tail fur was very frizzy, wild and being firey red and orange. Coupled with her warm temperate it wasn't hard to see the relation to the element. She stared at it a little, watching the flickering embers, when she felt him give her a hesitant hug. She grinned and returned it with enthusiasm, fortunately she was just nicely warm and no longer burning. But she let go before long, just in case, not to mention her growling stomach also made her look at herself sheepishly, then back at him, and then around for any signs of dinner, a questioning look on her face.

Listening with half an ear to Reve's chatter, Danny took a moment to look around at everyone else. The place seemed pretty packed. The other twin of Reve, Mathus she remembered his name, had gone off with some green thule and Kay was talking to someone with a dark blue, glittery thule. Hmmm...

There is a lapse before Crow snaps out of his displeasure for his father dumping him in this situation. With a look around, he scornfully notes the possibilities, avoiding one involving a certain green Thule. Instead, he crawls toward Myze, subconsciously running his tiny tongue over his sharp teeth, tail flickering insanely.

Flopping down at her feet, he ensures he has her attention by popping up directly in front of her face. Eyes keen and staring, he leaves a pause, as if waiting for a shriek or similiar reaction to his sudden arrival.

Mythos hugs his bag, forced to keep within range of his brother. He does his best to keep hidden behind his bag, looking more like a dragged dog on a leash than anything else. As his brother stops, he immediately turns his back on the trouble maker so as not to be confused with whatever mess Crow happens to stir up. Instead, he rubs his eyes plainly, keeping to himself as best he can. It seems his brother owns claim of all the confidence of the pair has.

Myze, getting bored with the conversation of these people and wishing to flee the crowd, struggles once more until Ecavi finally submits and she can stalk off again. Quite suddenly, once she settles herself, she finds someone directly infront of her- Crow.

She jumps, not expecting anyone to approach her let alone seemingly pop out of no where. Staying silent, her eyes narrow- indicating her displeasure. She inches back slightly. Myze does not like being surprised.

Ecavi smiles at Kay- atleast she'd tried to get Myze to interact a little bit- and nods. "Myze and Ceri were pretty much the same they are now when I adopted them, as well," she explains, "But I did see two others come from a relic.." She points towards Lucas and Raul, and glances over towards Ceri. That must mean her girls weren't the only ones that'd been abandoned or lost- it was sad enough knowing one pair had gone without a guardian for awhile, but atleast two more..?

Lucas nodded at every pause in Ceri's speech, even though he didn't understand most of it himself. The pirates part sounded interesting, though...he wondered if he'd get to be a pirate. "Siver mi tibbers!" He repeated wobbily, smiling.

Clutching the hot-dog fork that has been slapped into his hand, Lucas is unsure what to do. "Hot'og?" he queried, shaking the large utensil a bit. He only saw light in front of him, and couldn't make the association between this instrument an that heat.

Seeing that Ecavi left to help a few newcomers, Ara took the opportunity to bend down and help the little white Thule. "Like this," she told Lucas, fixing the rod. She saw the hot dog was cooked, so she only let him put it into the fire for a moment. "Put the hot dog," she took his fingertips and briefly pat them over the hot sausage: there wasn't any other way for him to learn, "over the fire so you can eat it." She brought his hand close to the flame, let him feel the warmth. "Now it's good." She gave him back the fork, positioning it so that he could easily begin to nibble at the cooked meat. "And don't forget to share!" she reminded him.

The Love Thule was already a step ahead of her, though, leaning the fork towards Ceri in an attempt to share the sausage with her. "Want?" He asked, smiling.

Raul, taking advantage of Ara's distraction, wandered off, searching for someone interesting to play with. He ended up doing not much saved for bumping into a few things, mostly table legs and wooden log-benches, and earning himself a fair share of scrapes. More and more irritated, he stopped, ducking under a table with a sour grumble. He disliked being stuck in unfamiliar terrain, it always made him feel useless and vulnerable.

"Strange that there are so many new people to this..." Lena commented and looked at the children with a faint smile. "So why is every pair so...different ?"

Nothing ? Sounded like a nice start. Perhaps he wasn't as bad as Gaspar had thought. And a conversation always meant a way to get things or to get to know new better things. The green Thule decided to give in and nodded at the nightmare one. "Me Gaspa....yoo like sem ?" Quickly he pointed at all the people who surrounded his brother. If Mathus loved crowds they could forget about friendship and talk.

Carlos picked up more hotdogs which lay around and put them on forks. "Ty it, Nurya." He cheered the fire girl on and gave her one of the forks, very happy to share again and not aware that he hadn't eaten anything by himself yet. The blue-purple Thule also handed some forks to the others around. "Yoo all sweep here 'night ?"

Kay looked over when Ecavi pointed to yet another pair of Aduthule. There were so many! On the one hand it was good to know she wasn't alone in this strange new situation. But on the other hand it would take a while to get to remember everyone's names and place them to faces. "Yeah, you can say that again Lena." She murmered before thinking on what Ecavi said.

The woman with the midnight-blue thule seemed to have at least some hands-on experience. Or at least was a witness to this bizare occurance all the 'live' Thule seemed to have gone through.
"So you saw a couple of other 'relics' come alive? What did that look like? I thought you said they looked like curled up foxes in that stage. I guess they still do a bit. I mean, the tails and long ears..." She tilted her head in a puzzled sort of way.

"And yeah, they all seem to come in pairs. Very different pairs too." She nodded along with Lena. "I know Danny and Nuria are quite obviously different in their appearance. Fire and Ice, how much more different can you get? But what about your boys Lena? And who's Myze's sister?" Kay didn't recall the other twin being pointed out or introduced.

Nuria grinned and swished her tail as she was handed a fork with a sausage on the end. Mmm... it did look nice. And this thule was very nice to her too! She waved the fork a bit before seeing what the others were doing. Ah! In the fire! What fun!! Happily she stuck her's in too, twirling it around probably a bit too fast but enjoying the sizzling sound it made.

When Carlos asked everyone there about sleeping here she gazed about at the tents. Yes, Kay had brought her sleeping things.... but she would be warm enough anyway, and as long as Danny was with her, that was ok. It was strange to be sleeping outside though. She gave Carlos a nod and babbled response. "Uh huh."

Meanwhile Danica still sat with Reve, who seemed completely unaware she didn't understand a thing he was saying. Sure Nuria sounded like that when she talked out loud, but Danica could always hear her speach in her head. She couldn't with this other thule.

As she sat and observed everyone and everything, she watched as the dark blue thule near Kay and the other adults got down from being held. Only to be snuck up on by a rather sneaky looking thule and his embarressed-looking brother. She watched the drama unfold but only quirked the corner of her mouth.

Sajhiri began to butter slices of bread for campfire pies. She placed a slice in each side of each cast iron mold and then spooned in various pie fillings, apple, cherry, blueberry, and pumpkin. The irons were then closed and she shoved them into the coals of the fire. "Dessert is being prepared, and marshmallows are over here if you'd like to roast some. There are graham crackers and chocolate bars to make S'Mores. Sedare will help you put them together when you've finished roasting!"

Sedare finished eating her own hot dog and she moved to the buffet to begin spearing marshmallows for the younger Thule at the party. She seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself.

Saevire grinned mischeviously and murmured to the nearest Thule "Tonight we can tell ghost stories around the campfire before bed." She followed with an eerie "whoooo-OOO-ooo" sound.

Ceri giggles madly and claps when Lucas repeats her, she'd gotten through to him! Maybe he'd like to be pirate too- then they could be pirates together! She falls silent and watches as Ara guides Lucas through roasting the pre-cooked hotdog, grinning widely. She waves to the woman cheerfully, even though she's occupied.

Still smiling when an end of the hotdog is offered to her, she nods and takes a small bite off the end- making him keep hold of the fork, "Mm!"

Ecavi looks over all the aduthule, then at Danica and Nuria when Kay comments that they are fire and ice.

"Well, when I went to pick up Myze and Ceri, Ara arrived for her relic. The relics look more animal than humanoid- or hers did, and the picture of my girls' did. Anyway, it turned bright colors and shone really bright. Couldn't really see how it happened, but when the light dimmed there were two little boys there.."

She trails off, "Oh. Ceri is over by the fire-" she points, "And judging by the colors, and Myze's 'spots' I'd say they're day and night."

Ceri gets up from her spot on the log with Lucas and looks around- she had to find the red thule to see if he could be a pirate too! Murmuring to Lucas that she'd be back, she spots the thule and heads for her- forgetting why she'd come at all at the mention of ghost stories.

"Ost stories?" She asks, tilting her head.

Crow cocks his head to the side as if he's confused about something. Why the long face? He flashes her a reassuring grin, as reassuring a set of fanged teeth can be in such close proximity. His silver bangs sway over one of his eyes constantly, though one can guess it's better than seeing two.

"Crow," he announces with the r sounding more like a w. He slides fingers out of the wide sleeves of his jacket, pointing to himself. He gestures behind himself, not having to look to know his brother is there. A benefit, if not the only one, of the halos. "Mine."

Mythos looks out longingly at the crows of people, particularly the ones with the food. He lowers himself closer to the ground, using his bag to rest his head against. It will be his turn next to do what he wants, whether his brother agrees or not. Of course, there is the problem with strength and courage he has to overcome first..

Reaching into his bag, he pulls out a mirky brown stone. His father wrapped it up in a leathery cloth for the travel. Some light from the fire catches the smokey quartz, and he briefly has something to admire by him lonesome.

Lena listened carefully and shrugged. "Sadly Gaspar and Carlos don't seem to be so obvious...I just know that my little green one loves to gather things and Carlos...loves to share. So perhaps..greed and liberality ?" Although it sounded a bit strange it suddenly made sense to her.

"We too." Carlos announced and pointed at Gaspar who was sitting further away. This sleepover was very nice. He had to ask the Lena if they could do this at their home in future too. Perhaps she would say yes, they had a big house too. Silently Carlos watched Sedare amazed by her patient way to spear the marshmellows. "Wassat ?" He asked and blinked. Perhaps Nuria knew...turning towards her he smiled.

Kay called out a thanks as their party host told them desert was on the way. And the mention of marshmellows and chocolates didn't sound too bad after all.

"Ara? Another parent? Oh right. I didn't get any pictures of Danny and Nuria. I'll have to go back and check with the staff I think. It'd be neat to have a collection." Kay replied to Ecavi while a smile. Photography was her bread and butter.
"That would have been something to see alright. Wish I had been there to take some pictures of it too."

She looked over at Ceri when she was pointed out. Sunshine yellow... and midnight blue. Why of course! And now she was looking for it, she did notice the 'spots on Myze wear in fact star-shaped. "Oh yeah, I think you're right. And sharing and taking, you say Lena? Well that would be a good explaination."

Nuria nearly dropped her sausage into the fire when a thule nearby by made such a spooky sound. She whipped her head around to look, realising the speaker as the pirate thule from the museum. Of course that brought back memories of the monsters and things down under the water.... and the huge shark which still lurked under her bath now!

But she remembered she had been made a pirate after that adventure and now was the chance to be one again. With a wave of her toasting fork she called out a loud "Yahh!!" And grinned, reaching to pick off her sausage and bite into it. Pirates still got hungry after all.

Unfortunatly she didn't know what a ghost story was and could only shrug her shoulders at Carlos and look puzzled. But if it was anything like the adventures
Saevire liked, it might be scary...

A pair of pale ears pricked up at the sound of someone saying 'story'. Danica glanced away from where the redish thule with the coat was grinning wickedly, while his brother did his best to ignore him, to the source of the word. Oh! She recognised that older thule. She remembered her from a trip to museum, very long ago. She was the one who went off with Nuria. From what she could remember though, she didn't think the thule was interested in stories, or at least books. But they had said 'ghost stories'.... Danica didn't know what a ghost story was exactly, but it was a story and she was keen to find out more.

Giving Reve a poke, she nodded silently over to where the rest were. Perhaps if he was listening to a story he might stay quiet.

Oh. And I guess Latpas is just listening appreciatively. Or she went out to her car to get a sleeping bag that she forgot. Or she's nodded off standing up like she occasionally does. Or something. You all can make it up as you wish, XD. But if you want to... ask me a question about my Thule or anything, I can pretend that I've been part of the conversation all along. ]

Mathus narrowed his eyes and slid his gaze over to the crowd around the Liberality Thule. He shook his head a fraction of an inch and scooted a little further away from them. "I'm Mafus... an' I don' like them so much, nope. Too.. good. An' nice an' stuff." He nooded smartly to punctuate his opinion.

Story? Hm? Had someone said story? He liked stories, he had found, from hearing Latpas tell so many, although badly. He rubbed his shoulder absently from the icy poke and glanced around excitedly. When were they starting? Who was telling the story?

"I too." Gaspar nodded yes and grinned at Mathus. He looked cool anyway and he seemed to be alright, so why not talk to someone sensible. "Wan' be fwiends ?" The green Thule asked still holding the forks like a treasure. If Mathus agreed, he would have something all the others didn't have. Was worth a lot, he bet.

Myze grits her teeth, her mouth opening enough to show that she too has fangs. Sinister as this new black and red thule looks, he didn't seem to be much of a threat- simply introducing himself. She glances past Crow to what must be his twin- who didn't look very happy.

Staying silent, she looks back at Crow nodding a greeting and inching back a little more.

Ceri gasps when some others begin to realize that stories would be happening. Still forgetting she'd intended to tell Saevire Lucas could be a pirate too, she heads back over to the campfire and Ara.

"Luas! Story!" She says in a cheery, sing-song voice- grabbing his hand and trying to take him towards Saevire despite the fact that stories wouldn't be right away and probably would be around the campfire and not the table.

"Greed and Liberality? That would make sense," Ecavi nods, then looks at Kay, "Yeah- I'm sure they'd have pictures in a file, that's where that little man got Myze and Ceri's pictures from."

Lucas blinked a bit as he felt Ceri's tug on his hand. "Sto-ee?" He repeated feebly, making his guardian giggle. He put the overlarge fork with the half-eaten sausage down--Ara grabbed it before it could touch the grass, thankfully saving the good meat--and got up to follow Ceri to wherever she deigned pull him. Once up, however, he made a mental scan, locating Raul not too far. Giving his beloved twin a mental hug (much to said twin''s displeasure), he grinned in no particular direction and squeezed the Day thule''s hand, as if saying he was ready to go.

Ara watched the two Thule go off, and, for once, was not too worried about Lucas'' welfare (he was, after all, surrounded by other Thule and guardians). Looking around, she frowned sadly when she noticed Raul huddled under a table, looking helpless and angry. Biting her lip, she strode over, picking him up despite his brief screech of protest.
"Hey there, buddy! You should be out making friends!"

Raul grumbled as Ara brushed her fingers through his hair soothingly; Lucas was off having fun--without him, as usual--and without Lucas, how was he going to manage? Lucas was good at this meeting people stuff, not him! Slightly upset, he grit his teeth and crossed his arms. Decidedly, he had no intention of going out and meeting people. At least, not out of his own initiative.

Taking the hint, Ara looked around for sociable-looking Thule she could leave Raul with: children, especially small ones, had a knack for become best friends very quickly. Of course, with Raul, that same idea could backfire on her, but it was worth a shot...that, or she''d keep him with her all evening, which, while unpleasant-sounding, might just become an option.

Mathus furrowed his brow slightly. The concept of friends was a bit too... good for him, a bit too much like something his brother would like, really, but a good friend could always become a good minion or an accomplice, right? "Shoore," he said with a smirk, "Be friends." He smiled smugly to himself. Accomplice number one: possibly found.

Ceri gives a cheery smile to Lucas and Ara, squeezing the former's little hand in return and made her way back over to Saevire, babbling about ghost stories, the hotdog they'd been eating and pirates once more. Once again forgetting why she came up to the red thule this time, she pulls at Saevire's tail.

"Luas pirate too!" She says, holding up his hand in hers. Lucas was going to be a pirate too, of course- and they'd talk funny, and tell ghost stories. Ceri gasps when she remembers the stories, "An' stories!" She beams, pleased with herself for having brought up two nearly separate things.

Gaspar nodded and grinned. Now he had a possesion not even Carlos had. Wonderful...but what did friends do ? Hopefully they didn't share anything. He just shrugged as he looked at the others and snorted. Esspecially Crow...So he pointed at the halo one and hissed. His friend should know that the greedy one wasn't interested in this one at all.

"Pie rats ?" Carlos blinked and looked around. "Wassat ?" Not really used to watching pirates story, he slightly remembered Gaspar's favourite series 'Duck Tales'...weren't the bad ones sometimes pie rats ? "No good ?" He shook his head and looked at Nuria. "Yoo know Yana Jones ?" That was HIS favourite movie..Indiana Jones.

"In a file huh? Well I'll have to go back and ask." Kay made a note to do so. She didn't want to leave out any bits of information that might help her cope with her two new and unusual charges.

Scratching her head, Kay glanced about. "I'm probably being a complete dunce... but who's Sajhiri, Saevire and Sedare? I've settled myself in and I haven't even gone to say hi to the hosts."

Stuffing the rest of the sausage into her mouth, Nuria gulped it down in order to answer Carlos. She wasn't quite sure what a pirate was but she remembered some of the things Saevire did... and Saevire was a pirate. "Yahh!" She said again. "Piraate, yahh! Good!" She waved her fork like a sword and grinned. Oh and they had to battle sea monsters like squids and sharks. But imitating them just left her wiggling her fingers and making biting motions with her teeth. "Fight monstahs and umm... get teeff." She pointed at her own teeth to comfirm what she said. Pirate got teeth right? She wouldn't forget her little mishap when trying to get the shark's tooth at the museum.

Laughing at her own little actions, she stopped being a pirate enough to listen to Carlos's question. "Yana Yones?" She blinked and shook her head. No... she'd never heard of that one.

Noticing the dream thule look around at her poking. She pointed over to where a few of the thule seemed to be gathering, her sister included. "Ory... Storry." She stated, getting good at the word as she often would go up to Kay with a book and demand it be read.

Nevertheless, she wanted to hear any stories that might be getting told. With or without Reve following, she picked herself up and wandered over, her tail and wings giving a swish or flap whenever she felt a little off-balance.

Crow watches with a grin as Myze backs off, thinking it to be a game. He rocks himself back and forth, battered wings trembling. "Who you?" he asks loudly, rocking still as he addresses her. It doesn't seem to bother him whatsoever how frightening he comes off as. The interaction itself is most amusing, and that's all he really wants - to be amused.

Listening closely, Mythos can hear the others talk faintly of pirates and something about monsters.. he hugs his stone before wrapping it up and tucking it away. He lies carefully down on his stomach, arms crossed under his chin to listen from a distance. He wants to know about these pirates and the stories connected to them. His tail flickers from side to side, content to forget about his brother if only for that moment. He is never really gone, at least not further than the halos will let him.

Mathus glanced over at Crow, truly interested. He looked to be a good sight more malevolent than Gaspar, and dead sneaky in that trenchcoat of his. He'd have to look into getting something like that, only black, of course. Tan just wouldn't be sneaky enough. Unfortunately, it appeared that he was 'attached' to his twin by the means of interconnected halos. Halos?! That was completely and totally not demonic or evil or anything like that at all. Sheesh. He'd have to tell this guy what was up.

"So..." He gestured vaguely in the direction of the Corruption Thule and his brother, saying: "You don' like 'im much? I haven't met 'im yet. I haven't met either of 'em yet, really. Wot's 'is bruvver like?"

Reve hopped up wobbily and ambled happily after her, enjoying listening to the mixed babblings of all the Aduthule, and the general scene of the place. Pudgy lips pursed slightly, he wondered what kind of story would be told...

"Well, that's Saevire, that's Sedare, and that's Sajhiri," Ecavi points out each to Kay, she'd been introduced atleast. She smiles, "They all seem a bit occupied, don't they? I'm sure they don't mind you haven't said hi yet.."

Myze turns her head away from Crow, indicating she was not going to answer his question. She looks back and narrows her eyes at him, why was he so interested in talking to her?

She glances up at the halos, finally, and sees that they are connected. That was curious- and a halo wasn't exactly fitting for someone as creepy as this one looked. But it explained why the reluctant twin stayed with him.

Sedare began helping Thule assemble smores at the buffet after their marshmallows were toasted. She smushed the squishy items between layers of graham cracker and chocolate bar and passed them back to their owners. "Be careful, the marshmallow will be hot for a few minutes.." She cautioned.

Sajhiri dragged the irons out of the fire and opened them, setting the pies on a platter for everyone to enjoy. She sprinkled a dusting of powdered sugar on the crusts.

Saevire leapt up from the rock she perched on and over to a log. "Methinks, me hearties, it's time for a tale about this very place! A seeeecret story!" She squatted down on the log and gave everyone around her a meaningful look. "Many years ago this land was where the Gambino Island pirates buried all their booty. The place was a great hideout, right here in this clearing -- until the Barton Towners came and built this tower. The pirate Captain, El Nino, was enraged at the scurvy dogs for setting up house on his secret spot, and sent a raiding party to chase them away.

The leader of the raiding party had seen the tower's new resident, and knew him to be an old man with little spirit, so instead of making him walk the plank, they decided to scare him out. The Pirate crept up to the house and gently _rapped_ on the wall." Saevire knocked on the log she sat on in time with the rapping. She grinned at the other thule around her.

Ceri drags Lucas back over to the fire with her, sitting on the ground to listen to Saevire's story. It certainly gave her a better idea about what pirates were. She glances towards the tower when Saevire tells about it's origins, awed- it explained why this red thule claimed to be a pirate atleast..

She jumps when Saevire raps on the log, startled out of her gaze at the tower- she holds tighter onto Lucas' hand, staring at Saevire intently. Apparently stories were good for holding her attention.

"Noo good..." Gaspar growled and nodded as Mathus pointed at Crow. "He made...ouch." Quickly the greed Thule unfolded one of his wings and showed a slight, not very tragic, wound. After all it hadn't been so bad for Gaspar anyway because he HAD something Carlos didn't have. At least not yet...

"Bruvver say no sing." Gaspar explained. "Yoo wanna meet ?" Shaking his head he hissed at Crow again.

"Yana Joney do aventours. He saves things an gives 'em to peeple." Carlos smiled broadly as he tried to explain everything with his fingers. "Pie rats good, me pie rat too !" He explained and listened curiously to the story.

Sedare settled down with a blueberry filled pie and nibbled on it, raptly listening to her sister's story. She sat near some of the smaller Aduthule, just in case they got scared.

Saevire continued her story, after stuffing a marshmallow in her mouth and swallowing it down. "This attracted the attention of the tower owner, but finding nothing there, he went back to his work. Again the Pirate rapped on the wall." She again knocked on the log to illustrate, "This cat and mouse game went on for most of the night. The old man was becoming afraid of this mystery noise, so he reached for the axe he kept over the mantle. The next time the Pirate rapped, the man was prepared and chopped the Pirate's head off with a single blow! El Nino, on seeing how easily the old man cut down his best lieutenant, banned all people from setting footon the tower grounds. To insure this, he used an old curse he learned from a witch doctor on an island, and called on the spirit of the be- headed pirate to guard the land. It is said that on dark summer nights just like this one, the pirate can still be heard prowling around the grounds." She looked at the other Thule with an ominous gleam in her eyes.

Mythos peers over his shoulder at his brother, trying to do it inconspicuolousy. His wing falls in the way and abstructs his vision, so he gives up on this idea. Leaning forward onto his crossed arms again, he seems to have missed the conversation Gaspar and Mathus were just having about him and his brother by the time he concentrates his listening on the group again. Tail flickering in the air, he watches with a yearning desire to join. When would it be his turn?

Watching Myze closely as she narrows her eyes, Crow's mood twists into something happier. That's one of his favourite things to do, and she does it so well! Grinning wildly, his wings shake to reveal his excitement. A misguided idea arises, and he quickly assumes that the only reason Myze isn't talking is that she can't.

"Who you'ss?" he asks, gesturing with one hand while the other three keep his balance. Not once has he fully depended on two legs. He peers out, eyes squinting, at the others, trying to find Myze's match. He forgets that if they're anything like him and his brother, determining this Thule's match wouldn't be as easy as he assumes.

Myze follows Crow's gaze out to the other aduthule, deciding she could interact with him without being overly social- atleast, not like Ceri. She uncrosses her arms and taps him on the shoulder to get his attention, and points out to Ceri by the campfire.

If the one behind him was 'his,' she assumes that he'd asked who her's was- and that was the bright yellow thule listening to the red ones story.

Ceri squeals softly as Saevire's story gets scarier, and finishes- she glances around the yard anxiously, some rustling leaves near the tents seeming an awful lot like a headless ghost coming to get her. With a frown, she goes to Sedare- the biggest thule not telling the scary story- and clings to her. She looked calm, and her eyes weren't odd-shiny like the red one's eyes. All the while pulling Lucas with her.

Myze, distracted now by Ceri's fear, turns her attention on the little group listening to the story. .

While listening to the story Carlos eyes grew wider and wider, but he didn't make a single noise. This was so...scary. He watched Ceri clinging to the older one and for a moment he considered doing so too. But he was a boy, wasn't he ? And anyway, Indiana Jones would have never done so. "We figh pie rate weeout head...piece then." Grinning broadly about the wonderful idea he looked at the girls. What would they think about it ?

Mathus shrugged, still stealing quick glances at the pair. The tan-coated Thule's brother looked like he wasn't enjoying his proximity to his twin, and was sitting as far away from his as their connected halos would allow. Pausing, he turned to Gaspar and shrugged again. "I seeee..." He smiled sympathetically, if falsely, at gaspar and his wound.

"Nuffin' at all? S'not right." He shook his head gravely as if it were a great scandal. "Mebbe leter... I'll watch 'im fer a while."

He peered over to where a crowd was gathering around Saevire, and flicked his tail toward them nonchalantly. "Wot's all thems doin' over there? We go see?"

Instinctively, Reve clung to Danica's arm, not at all sure he liked this story much. Dark nights, beheaded pirates.. he didn't even know what a pirate was yet! He glanced nervously behind him, tightening his loose grip on the Ice Thule's chilly arm.

Gaspar just nodded very satisfied. Some of the other Thule looked scared and perhaps there was something interesting going on. As he catched the words of pirates his eyes started to sparkle. "Pirat loafs gold." The green Thule grinned. "Me a pirate !"

Crow turns abruptly as Myze's attention strays, narrowing his eyes a little at the distraction. He doesn't quite have the patience for stories, or chooses not to. Instead, he sits down completely, silently admiring the dots of Myze's pattern, cocking his head almost 90 degrees in feeble attempts to connect the dots. Going cross eyed at one point, he only catches bits and pieces of the story.

On the other hand, his brother is now holding on to every word. His eyes widen appropriately, and he's thankful he's lying down; for sure he'd be trembling, otherwise. His tail is wrapped and tucked under his foot, and his wings press down against his back as if to hide themselves. Mythos blinks once, waiting with frightened eagerness for the next part of the story to unfold.

Mathus nodded smartly, hopping up onto four feet. "We make some trouble, yes?" If Gaspar was going to be a successful accomplice, he would have to prove that he was competent at the art of moving unseen and unheard. "Fowlow me!" He hissed dramamtically, slinking off casually, if not very quickly, into the empty space beside the enraptured listeners.

Gaspar had usually experienced that his mother wasn't fond of trouble, but if his new friend said so he would have fun. And after all pirates did so...and when everyone runs away they could get all the forks and the food...
The green Thule grinned and followed Mathus in a crowling movement into the crowd slowly. "What too doo ?" He whispered trying to block the mental contact to Carlos, who seemed to occupied with his new friends anyway. Jealousy arose in the green one, but he didn't say a word.

Although Nuria wasn't sure about this Yana Joney she nodded at Carlos' agreement to being a pirate. Maybe Yana was a pirate too? They had adventures and got things. Well with Carlos it was another one to join them. Why, with so many other pirates and with big Saevire too, they could fight off ten sharks! Maybe she could ask Saevire to come and get rid of the one in the bath first...

But her thoughts are sidetracked as the story starts and she wriggles and clutches her toasting fork as the tale turns spooky. She didn't like the sound of the rapping either and gave a start, her tail lashing and her body heating up just a bit. Her ears drooped back as the tale turned to ghosts. They sounded worse than sharks! Even without their heads! Not to mention the people cutting off their heads. She dropped her fork and clasped her throat.

"B-but.. we pirites too? I don wanna git head cut off!" She cried in alarm.

Danica bypassed the food table as she wandered over, silently helping herself to one of the sweet camp pies. It was rather good, she considered as she chewed a mouthful thoughtfully. But there were other things to attend to and she wasted no time heading over to sit near the circle of thule. She stayed a little further back from the fire, it was rather hot for her tastes, but within sight of Nuria. The girl didn't usually like stories but it seemed she'd found someone to pester and at least that left Danica free of her over-excitable reactions. But Danica had picked up her own trailing thule it seemed for no sooner had she sat down with her treat, Reve was right behind her.

Fortunatly he was quiet enough during the story and Danica watched and listened as Nuria jumped at the rapping and cowered at the mention of a headless ghost. How could anything be headless anyway? Danny thought to herself. It wouldn't be able to see where it was going let alone scare anyone. Still, she gave the old man credit for dealing with the pirates and not running away.

She was rather enjoying the tale when a sudden grasp at her arm made her instinctively pull away. Turning to look she found Reve attached to her limb and paused. Was he scared? Of just a little story?
"Nnly story." She stated calmly and gave a little tug to free her arm. But it didn't look like he was going to let go any time soon. "No real." At least that's what she figured. All stories were just made up. That's why they were stories.

Since some of the words in the story flew right over Lucas (as he had no experience, tactile or otherwise, to associate with them), he could feel Ceri's fright and that made him worry. When the Day Thule shuffled on the log a bit to cuddle up to Sedare, he did the same on the other side--not that he had much of a choice--effectively squeezing Ceri between himself and the older Thule. "Ceii?" he demanded, nuzzling her golden shoulder. "No scared. Jus' story."

Raul was quite content, and even seemed to be dozing off in his caretaker's arms, when a spike of emotion from Lucas started him awake. Worry? Fear?! He grit his teeth and made a low growl, writhing out of Ara's grasp and breaking into a run, on all fours because it was less wobbly, towards his brother. As he made his way towards the Love thule, however, he could not take every obstacle into account, and so Mythos' presence went completely unnoticed--until he bumped into the gray-teal Morality Thule. Instinctively he stopped dead in his tracks and rolled to the side and out of the way, coming back up crouched like a wild animal, brows meeting between his eyes, teeth bared in aggression. In his mind, Lucas had calmed somewhat, but his brother's negative emotions were making his adrenaline run high.

Ara watched her Hate Thule pick another fight, only this time she had to scowl because it was with a thin little Thule who obviously wasn't going to fight back if Raul went in for a swipe. "Raul," she called to him, watching the red and black Thule's tail twitch excitedly, "stop that! Stop it right now!"
Getting up with a sigh, she tried to avoid attracting too much attention to the little slip-up of her vigilance, hoping not to make a scene.

Ceri, still clinging to Sedare, turns her head to look at Lucas. Not seeing the reason behind his explanation right away she whines and points towards the rustling trees. Her ears twitch slightly as she hears murmurs of the same explanation that Lucas had- it was just a story.

"N-no ghost?" she asks Lucas anxiously.

Myze gets to her feet, ready to go comfort Ceri, unaware that Crow was playing connect the dots on her back or that Raul was heading there way. When she hears the bump of the hate thule running into the morality thule, she turns around to see what was going on.

It was Raul. She grits her teeth- Ceri's fear was going away, and without that urgency to go see her she was free to stay where she was. She narrows her eyes at him- he obviously likes picking fights with people. He eyes move from Raul to Ara, who was evidentally going to try to stop him.

Mathus halted, hoping Gaspar wouldn't bump into him, as he was following closely behind. For once he couldn't really think of anything to do, but quickly located the source of the story as the red Thule with the eyepatch. He eyed Saevire maliciously, then turned to Gaspar and pointed her out. "She ees tellin' the stowy, awright? And since eveeboddie lissen to her, we sneak up behind an' scare ev'ryone." He narrowed his eyes fiercely. He'd give them all a fright, right at the climax of the story, when they were all the most frightened.

"No real?" he repeated, shivering. "Yoo shoore?" Reve released Danica's arm nervously and glanced around again, rubbing his hands together to warm them, as well as take his mind off the story. Headless ghosts and pirates and--! It was all so scary! What if the headless pirate was here now?

"Shure Imm shure." Danica said with a firm nod. Stories came out of books or were made up out of your head. She had listened to a fair few stories in her short lifetime already, no no things like trolls and ghosts and princesses riding the winds couldn't be true. It'd be on the news otherwise...

"Jush to liswen to." She emphased, glad now he'd let her arm go yet he still kept looking round and acting nervous. She didn't offer any other form of comfort though. He'd soon figure out she was right when no ghosts would appear.

Saevire grinned at her little pirate brood. "Of course, those of us who ARE pirates are safe from the ghost! It's the rest of ye land lubbers who have te watch out fer yer heads!" She let out a cackle and hopped down off the log.

Sedare stood and began putting away the food items to pass out the campfire pies. She loaded them into a basket and moved around the fire, pointing out the various flavors as she offered them.

"Alwight, we scare." Gaspar nodded and followed Mathus as silent as possible. Hopefully nobody had noticed the two crawling up behind Saevire. "Joo say go and we attack." The Thule mentioned quietly as he was close to grab the red girl's leg to make everyone think he was a pirate. He would get attention then and it was after all better then gaining nothing.

"A-all right. If you say so!" His lip trembled as he said this, with some difficulty. Nothing appeared to frighten him momentarily, so his fears were assuaged for the present. Maybe she was right...

Mathus paused and tapped his lips pensively, listening in on the story. Something about a headless pirate? Maybe... "Gaspar?" He whispered urgently. "Yoo think yoo could find somefink, like a coat? We act like a headless pie-rate?" He hoped Gaspar would understand the reference to the story.

The rest of the evening and the overnight sleeping goes peacefully, as Sedare keeps her twin in check and away from terrifying the other twins overnight. In the morning parents pick up their kiddos and life goes on.

Synopsis:Sedare reflects on Halloween

Sedare quietly read a book, sprawled out on her bed. The sleepover they'd had a while back had been a great deal of fun, even if Saevire had tried to scare all the other Thule with her ghost stories. The number of pirates she'd seen Trick or Treating on Halloween seemed to have given her sister's love of the seafaring rogues some legitimacy. She, herself, had dressed up as a snowy owl, complete with cardboard beak hand crafted by Sajhiri. The multitude of feathered creatures her mother cared for had provided the gobs and gobs of molted feathers for her to make a dress out of for her owl body. She wore yellow tights and rain galoshes which she'd painted talons on. The costume was a hit with the neighborhood kids.

Saevire had, unpredictably, been a bat rather than a pirate. Sajhiri had made her a headband with big bat ears and a mask with a little bat nose and fangs. She wore a fake fur jacket for her body. For a while Sedare was confused about the costume choice, then she noticed her sister had watched Batman Begins about 50 times the weeks before the holiday. Well, at least she wasn't running around pretending to be Batman.

Speaking of the devil, Saevire thundered into the room, back in her usual pirate garb and brandishing her wooden cutlass. "Avast ye landlubber!" she shouted at her sister, "Tis time fer grub, and I hear tell t'aint grog and biscuits tonight!"

Sedare chuckled softly at Saevire's antics and closed her book, marking her place carefully before setting it aside. "Dinner already? My how time flies when you're having fun." she demured.

"Fun!?" Saevire snarked, "You were reading, that's anything BUT fun. C'mon, Mom's waiting." She gestured with a flick of her tail and headed back out of the room.

Life was never boring with Sae around, Sedare reflected as she calmly tied her hair back in a tail to neaten it up for the meal. With a last check in the mirror to be sure she was table-ready, the Thule departed.

Locale:The Aduthule Research Office
Synopsis:Saevire and Sedare meet up with Myze and Ceri. Swashbuckling and Storytime ensue.

The door to the offices of Aduthule Research in the museum creaked open to admit Sedare and Saevire, and Sajhiri's head. The latter merely poked in to murmur "You two stay here and behave while I run Rebecca to the clinic for her checkup. No moneky business Sae. I mean it. Sedare's in charge."

"MOM! WHY ARE YOU PUTTING HER IN CHARGE! THAT'S SO NOT FAIR!" the red and black thule shrieked. She was dressed as a pirate, with a long black coat with gold trim, and fancy buckles all the way down the front.

"Because last time I left YOU alone in here you talked a baby into climbing onto a giant shark and got Youko hurt. Sedare's in charge. It's not up for discussion." Sajhiri looked to the silvery Thule who'd been quiet to that point.

Sedare smiled softly. "I'll be mindful mother."

Sajhiri looked tired, exasperated, and a touch doubtful of the situation, but she nodded and headed back out of the office.

By chance, Ecavi happens to be in the museum with Myze and Ceri- something that seems to happen quite frequently but the girls always enjoy, especially if they run into some other aduthule here. Ecavi is walking around reading some things posted on the boards, the same ones they'd found the invitations to the slumber party on.

Ceri, who's been trying to coax Myze into a game of hide and seek like the one they'd played at the museum before, notices the arrival of the other aduthule almost instantly. She turns from her sister and heads in the direction of the voices, staying out of sight until the voices stop.

"Pirate!" she squeals when she spots Saevire, delighted to see her dressed as a pirate.

Myze, who'd been refusing to join in any games, follows after her twin with only slight interest- going more to make sure Ceri doesn't get into any trouble. She eyes the other aduthule, recalling them from the sleepover..

With Sajhiri gone, Saevire wheeled on the two smaller thule present. "Yarrrr!" She bellowed. "Shiver me timbers, do ye be friends or foes, little scallywags!?" She brandished her wooden cutlass with a flourish, then leaned on it.

Sedare murmued "Don't scare the little ones, Sae. Be nice." She smiled at Myze and Ceri warmly. "Hello there! I haven't seen the two of you since the sleepover. How are you?"

Ceri giggles loudly at Saevire's questioning, much less intimidated than she was during the night. She marches over to them, babbling, "Shiber me tibbers! Scleeags!" She attempts to repeat this newer phrase, failing marvelously, then hugs the smiling silver thule.

"Good!" she answers the question and then releases Sedare, "You pirate too?"

Myze takes a couple steps foreward, though she doesn't get as close as Ceri and stays quiet..

Saevire looks momentarily tickled pink at Ceri's response, before she leans in towards Myze. "Ye be a quiet one. Can ye say, 'Yaaaaaarrrrr!'?"

Sedare hugged Ceri back with a little chuckly. "Hardly. I'm not much for sailing the high seas or making others walk the plank. I think I'd rather be something less dangerous and more studious. A librarian perhaps?"

Myze looks momentarily insulted by the Saevire's question, but quite surprisingly after a moments stare with intense violet eyes she speaks up, "Yarrrr." Her r's roll more than the rest of the word, and her voice remains low but audible.

"Saaaailing!" Ceri tilts her head, "Plaank? What plank? Librahrian?" She blinks several times to emphasize her confusion, not entirely sure what a plank or a librarian were- but almost sure that whatever a librarian was, Sedare would be a good once.

"Be good 'brarian," she smiles at Sedare, not even noticing the first time Myze has spoken to another thule (no matter what it is she said.)

"That's it, matey! You've a pirate's spirit in their afterall!" Saevire enthused. "Do ye want te be one of my sailors! We'll plunder and pillage throughout the seven seas!" She whipped her cutlass about to punctuate her words dramatically.

Sedare eyed her twin for a moment before returning her calm gaze to Ceri. "A librarian cares for and organizes the books in a library, which is a place where books are kept and loaned out to the public. It's a very important job, because books contain so very much knowledge."

Myze stares at Saevire thoughtfully, she'd been a pirate for Ceri- would it be in her best interest to do the same with Saevire? It could be less painful than disagreeing. Besides, she'd probably make a better pirate than the others.

"Ok," Myze nods warily.

"You good librarian, then," Ceri grins toothily, "Books have picturs!" She nods matter-of-factly, she'd looked at lots of books with Myze though not as interested in the words as she was in the pictures.

"Librarian inportant," she murmurs thoughtfully, "Then you inportant!"

Sedare beamed happily at Ceri. "Why thank you, Ceri! I'm flattered. And some books do have pictures, yes, but some don't. They are some that are hard to read, but I'm trying to read them too."

Saevire grinned ferally and she hopped up on a couch. "We'll then, permission to come aboard, matey! Hop right up onto this hear vessel and we'll go prowl the dead sea and bring back some loot!

Ceri smiles and takes a hold of Sedares hand, swinging it back and fourth happily.

"Books hard to read," she agrees, though not thinking along the same lines as Sedare, "Myze try to teach me." She nods, still swinging Sedares arm absently she looks over to her sister happily.

Myze glances over to Ceri and Sedare before scrambling up onto the couch after Saevire. Though the speech was strange she can appreciate that it takes some intelligence to string it together to make sense, and still only a child playing once in awhile can be appealing.

"Ok," she murmurs, her voice getting lower. Out of practice at such situations she can only follow after Saevire.

Saevire growls out. "Avast, what is that on the horizon!?" She points towards the far arm of the couch and waits for Myze to look before she tosses a couple pillows on the floor with her free hand. "I see a haze over the sun, that can only mean, tis sharky weather!" She turns, and gazes over the near arm of the couch. "And there they be! Two porkers off the starboard bow! Right nasty fish, the great white! We'll be needing harpoons matey!"

Sedare frowned slightly as pillows were tossed on the floor, but decided that was bearable, as they had to only be picked up later. She looked back to Ceri. "Would you like me to read you a story?" she asked.

Myze looks to the far end of the couch when Sae points off in that direction, startled when some pillows go flying to the floor. She just stares when the thule explains what they are and what they need, only seeing pillows there.

Suddenly realizing what she's meant to 'see' and what she's supposed to be trying to find she goes towards a table by the end of the couch, grabbing some crayons that have been left there with coloring books like in most waiting rooms.

Crayons could resemble something pointy, if you used your imagination. She'd had enough practice humoring Ceri to realize that. She brings a clawfull of crayons back to Saevire, "Here."

Ceri's green eyes follow Sedare's to the pillows, taking a couple steps toward the pillows when she's offered a story. She turns sharply, slipping to the floor and releasing Sedare's hand on the way.

"Story!" She smiles and claps.

Sedare smiles and she draws a book from one of the shelves in the office. It's a book of children's stories and she settles on the floor and opens it. "This one is called, 'The Princess and the Pea'." She begins to read it for Ceri.

Quote:
ONCE upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess; but she would have to be a real princess. He traveled all over the world to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted. There were princesses enough, but it was difficult to find out whether they were real ones. There was always something about them that was not as it should be. So he came home again and was sad, for he would have liked very much to have a real princess.

One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the city gate, and the old king went to open it. It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate. But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look. The water ran down from her hair and clothes; it ran down into the toes of her shoes and out again at the heels. And yet she said that she was a real princess.

Saevire accepts the crayons and she grabs a pair of knitting needles from a nearby basket. She stabs the pointy ends into the bottoms of the crayons, and hands one makeshift harpoon to Myze. "There ye be, matey! Now get that shark good!"

Ceri follows after Sedare, then attempts to climb over her arms when she settles on the floor. When that fails, she crawls underneath her arm and settles onto the thule's lap to follow along.

"Pincess an the pea," she repeats quietly, listening intently to the first part of the story- it didn't sound much like a real princess to her, either! She gasps and waits for Sedare to go on..

Myze smiles faintly when the crayons are accepted and made into harpoons with knitting needles, pleased to have picked the correct item for the job. She says nothing and eyes the pillows momentarily, taking several steps on the couch to try to get at a good angle.

If she's going to do this, she's going to do it right.

Once satisfied, she lifts a clawed arm and clumsily launches the crayon-needle harpoon toward the pillows. It doesn't go in a straight path, but twirls off to the side..

The stabbing motion of the 'harpoon' is enough to draw Sedare's attention. She is on her feet and removing the pillows from harm's way in an instant. "Sae! Crayon doesn't come off silk! You can't draw on the pillows. Mother would be angry."

Saevire comes crashing down from the emotional high of almost getting another thule to do something bad and she scowls at her sister. "You ruin all my fun." she snots.

At that moment, Sajhiri's head pokes back into the room. "The appointment was cancelled girls, come on, lets get going!"

Sedare nods to her mother, returns the pillows to their proper place, and hugs Ceri. "I'll finish the story for you another time, ok?" she offers.

Saevire grins a last time at Myze before stalking out of the office with her sister not far behind.

Ceri starts when Sedare gets up to scold the other aduthule, just realizing that Myze was actually intereacting with someone else. Somewhere between amazed and confused, she watches as Sedare moves the pillows and Saevire scowls.

Myze sighs and plops to a seated position on the couch- this is what she gets for attempting to be social. She shakes her head and glances between Saevire, Sedare and Ceri..

The day thule is more startled by the sudden appearance of Sajhiri than the night thule, and stares until Sedare comes and gives her a hug- they had to leave! She frowns and returns the hug, nodding, "Kay, story later."

"Byebye," she waves as Sedare leaves.

Myze watches as the two leave apathetically until Saevire turns and grins at her. So the attempt wasn't a complete failure? She lifts a claw in a farewell gesture..

Locale:The Gardens of the Silva Regia Tower
Synopsis:Saevire and Sedare merge to prevent Saevire from becoming murderous.

Saevire had been planning this moment for over a year. Her continued lack of success in capturing and finishing off that pesky fey king, Cervus, had rankled her past the edge of her own ability to cause anger, and was making her angry herself. She could not comprehend how some bug-like tiny man with wings could outsmart and out-fight her again and again. The indiginities her failures heaped upon her had become too much to bear. She was a pirate! She had legions of little Aduthule clambering to be on her crew! This time would be the last time, and she would get him.

She lay in wait in the garden, behind a rose bush, near the pond she knew he came to every night to consult with Arae, the feien fairy. She had sent Arae off on a wild goose chase of a fake errand, telling her Sajhiri needed her to collect a number of things in Barton Town for her. Then she had gotten a knife from the butcher block in the kitchen. It had almost the same weighting as her pirate cutlass, a chef's knife. Her eyes gleamed with murderous intent at the sound of someone approaching.

Cervus' ascension had left him with the lower legs of a stag, and the fleetness of foot to match, but it had cost him his wings. The nightly trek to the pond was arduous for one so small, but he considered it a pilgrimage to his gaian advisor, whose motherly nature helped him cope with the changes he'd undergone. There was no reason for him to suspect danger there in the dark. Except for the fact that Sedare had followed her sister's plans and surmised what she planned to do. She'd warned him and he went back to Tir Nan Og for the night.

As the soft sounds of padding through the damp grass drew closer yet, Saevire pounced, with her knife poised to strike the little fey. She found, instead, her sibling, staring right at her, with a deadly calm in her visage, and an expression stern, yet placid. A pale silver hand snapped up and gripped Saevire's wrist, keeping the knife aloft, so she could press in face to face with her sister, lavender staring into blood red, boring into her as if they were knives themselves.

Saevire struggled as she began to feel her anger sapping out of her, and panic rose in her. This was different than the usual tail stroking calm her sister normally invoked. She felt the anger, and then even the panic, begin to drain out of her, pouring into Sedare. She screamed and braced her feet, trying to power the knife downward into her twin, desperate to escape this stealing of her very self.

Sedare was immovable. She held her ground, and her sister's eyes, unflinchingly, unmoved to panic or anger. A small bit of sorrow haunted the edges of her consciousness as she felt Saevire's essence flow into her. "Enough, sister. Your mischief has turned into true desire to harm others. You were going to kill Cervus tonight. Such behavior cannot be permitted to continue." She flexed her wrist and the knife dropped from Saevire's weakening grip.

In a last effort to save herself, the red Thule screamed and lept on her sibling, knocking both to the ground, with Sedare pinned beneath. But the silver Thule did not seem even agitated at the action, she simply lifted both hands to her twin's face, forcing her eyes to continue to be met. Calm surged through her, and rushed into Saevire, who began to weep as she slammed her fists against her sibling's shoulders, trying to break away. "I hate you! I hate you! Stop it this instant!" she shrieked.

But her blows were like feathers against her sister, and Sedare scarcely registered them as she continued to hold Saevire in her gaze. The once pirate queen of the imaginary high seas slowly began to stop flailing, and her body began to grow limp atop her sibling. Her expression slackened, and at last her eyes closed.

A tear slipped from Sedare's eyes before they closed as well, and she wrapped her arms around Saevire, clutching her to her. "Forgive me, sister, but you've left me no choice..." she whispered into a crimson ear. She pressed her lips to the top of the red creature's head, then her eyes opened again. "We are as one, two sides of a single being, and together, we are greater than apart."

She felt it then, the strange tingling, and the dislocation, as if she were melting...no...melding. Saevire's form began to soften, then become lighter, intangible, as if mist, mist that was sinking into her own flesh. She screamed as her own form began to change, to grow and distend, and alter. She could feel something...no not something, Saevire, creeping through her veins, crawling beneath her skull, wrapping around her soul, and then blackness. She fainted.

Was it minutes? Hours? Days before she awoke? She could only tell it was still night, for the moon was making her arm look terribly pale as her eyes slitted open.

'You are that pale, you moron, this is all your fault' she thought. No. She didn't think...that wasn't her, but it was her at the same time. It felt like..Saevire? But she was gone, wasn't she? What had happened? She staggered to her feet and swooned. The ground seemed further away than normal. And...she WAS that pale, her fur had turned several shades lighter and...and what was the patch of red down the front of her form where her sister had been lying? Blood? No, fur, red fur in a swath like that on a robin's breast. And black across her hips and upper thighs...just like her sister had. Panic didn't well so much as curiosity, panic wasn't something the Patient thule was often a victim of. She staggered over to the pond and peered at her reflection.

She had grown indeed, into an adult, and though her face remained hers, and her wings and hair, and much of her resembled the Sedare she knew herself as, Saevire's influence was apparent. Not only in her looks, but in the glimmer of anger needling at the back of her mind, anger at having had to do this at all. She could almost imagine her sister's transparent visage floating behind her in the pond's reflection, glowering at her for the merging.

Saedare...I'm Saedare now. No longer truly Sedare, and certainly not just Saevire. She sighed softly. "This will be difficult to explain to Sajhiri..." she whispered to herself. And though it may have just been her imagination, she could swear she heard her sister's voice in the back of her mind snark, "THAT'S an understatement!".

Synopsis:Saedare explains to Sajhiri what has happened

Sajhiri sat across the table from the pale, beautiful creature that was the result of the merging of her two daughters. She looked a little confused, and a little sad, but overall her expression was compassionate as she listened to Saedare explain what had happened. She wiped at a tear on the adult Thule's cheek with a tissue as she held one of her hands.

"It's ok, baby, everything will be all right. You did what you had to do, she was going to hurt someone." Sajhiri tried to console the weeping adult being, now almost 4 feet in height, lithe of limb and radiating confliction. The seraph could sense the pair of souls dwelling at the surface of Saedare's consciousness. Though Sedare's persona was brighter, she could still sense Saevire's...weak, but present. "She's still with you, little love."

Saedare nodded and sniffled. "I didn't know what would happen, I just knew it had to be done, it was like a compulsion," the young woman explained. In her head Saevire snarked, "Sure you didn't. I'm sure you had no idea it would happen. It's not like you wanted to get rid of me, right?" Saedare winced at the sarcasm in the tone of the disembodied voice.

Sajhiri rubbed her chin, unaware of the vocalizations of the other soul. "Maybe it's part of your species, to merge like this when you come of age? It just so happened that you were trying to stop your twin physically when the time to merge came upon you. We'll go visit the Museum after the holidays and see what happens."

Saedare nodded slowly, calming herself. The tears ceased to flow and she moved to the sink, climbing on a stepstool, to splash cool water on her face. "I know I did the right thing, mother. But I still feel sorry and loss for the result of it. I'm sure it will ease in time," she murmured. "For you, maybe..." Saevire grumbled.

Date:12.25.05
Locale:The Silva Regia Tower
Synopsis:Christmas!

Sajhiri slumped into an overstuffed armchair. She'd spent most of the night setting out Christmas presents under the tree, filling christmas stockings, and making preparations for Christmas dinner. She was exhausted, but as she looked across from her at the wall of the family room, where dozens of photographs hung in gilded frames, she smiled and knew it was worth all the work to see her family happy when morning came.

She reached for the glass of milk and one of the cookies Rebecca left out for Santa. She'd help the big guy along with leaving a good impression on her toddler. She chomped heartily while watching the lovely glow of the blinking colored lights on the Christmas tree. Tomorrow night they'd have their ceremony with the nativity scene, after the crazed commercial side of the holiday subsided a little, and she'd remind her menagerie that she was there to care for them because The Fellow whose birthday was being celebrated assigned her to Gaia. The Seraph chuckled and raised the glass of milk in a toast to her Boss.

She must have fallen asleep in the chair, because she jolted awake to the sounds of a stampede. Or that's what it sounded like at least as the wild herd of her charges came rampaging down the stairs in the still dark hours of the predawn. A sleepy looking Sphinx cradled Rebecca in her arms as she apologized to Sajhiri. "She decided it was morning enough for Christmas, and she woke up everyone else," she explained.

Rebecca looked absolutely giddy as she reached out for her mother to take her in hand. Sajhiri scooped up the little redhead and kissed her nose. With a groan she caught a glimpse of the clock reading 6:00AM. "You couldn't wait til the sun was up at least, punkin?" she murmured.

Behind the sphinx, Saedare stood patiently, a smile bright on hre face at the sight of the presents strewn about, and several dozen stockings bursting to over flowing. Her wings flexed once before folding neatly behind her. "Good morning mother! And Merry Christmas!

Sajhiri beckoned the Aduthule over and hugged her warmly. "Merry Christmas to you too my dears." She still used the plural with her, still able to see Saevire's soul alongside Sedare's within the merged being.

"Where's my stuff?" Averno asked as she flew from stocking to stocking. The darkness Feien was dragging her co-bond, Arae, by the hand. Arae was yawning and looking half asleep still. "Did no one pay attention to the fact it's Sunday?" Arae grouse good naturedly. "We shouldn't be awake for at least two more hours on a Sunday."

Sajhiri grinned and gestured to the stockings for the two Feien. Arae woke up somewhat as she saw the one with her name embroidered on it. "Oh lovely!" she exclaimed. Averno climbed into her stocking and the sounds of shredding paper could be heard from within it.

Cervus smiled from his perch on the chandelier. "Happy Yule Sister Sajhiri!" he called from above. His cloak still concealed his changed form, the a hoof peeked out from the bottom hem now and again. Sajhiri smiled warmly at her ancestral fey. "And to you, little father." she murmured.

Rebecca pulled on her mother's hair and Sajhiri chuckled. The Sphinx began passing out stockings to the rest of the Menagerie, from Talaye, to Lija, to Gargoyles. The rending of Christmas wrap and a flurry of flying bows began to commence. Candy and dolls, toys and CDs, books and journals and DVDs piled up around the various inhabitants of the tower as the gifts were torn through. Oohs and aaaahs filled the air, and Sajhiri sipped a cup of coffee as Rebecca annhialated the packaging as each present was handed to her. Rubber duckies, dolls, and other toys abounded. She smacked a rattle against Sajhiri's knee, causing an involuntary reflex kick.

Saedare was engrossed in a new journal and an entire set of encyclopedias, as well as many other books and some lovely porcelain dolls. She smiled softly at the suede buckled pirate coat and felt a surge of joy within as her absorbed sibling squeeed with disembodied delight.

Averno studied the books she was given curiously. They were on fencing and swordfighting. A few DVDs about swordplay were there too, as well as a whole new set of furniture for the doll house she was inhabiting. Arae seemed delighted at the lime green inks, furnishings, and small portrait frames Sajhiri had given her. A promise of a portrait to be done of her and Aleric made her giggle and blush.

Cervus was blushing too, at the "World's Greatest Dad" tshirt and other gifts from his cursebreaker. Beneath the hood he smiled giddily at the thought of his impending fatherhood.

Finally, every bit of Christmas wrap was in trash bags, and toys and gifts all revealed. Baby Rebecca snuggled against her mother and drifted back to sleep. All of the menagerie looked ready for a late morning nap. Sajhiri smiled as she looked around her at her family. "Merry Christmas everyone..." she murmured with a warmth in her heart.

Synopsis:Saedare applies for a job in the museum's records department as a librarian.

Saedare balanced her spectacles carefully on her nose, and smoothed her scarf to get out any wrinkles. She'd been sitting in the waiting room of the museum's adminstrative wing for 20 minutes, waiting for her scheduled interview. As an adult, she felt it was time to start earning her keep in Sajhiri's home, and despite her foster mother's assurance that such a thing was unnecessary, she had applied to intern at several places.

In truth, she really wanted a job to distract her from the voice of her absorbed twin. Saevire wasn't taking the merge well. She was quite angry, and had taken to making every effort to blurt out something inappropriate whenever Sedare was trying to concentrate. It was hard to think of herself as one being, as Saedare, when there was another consciousness at the edges of her psyche. Perhaps, in time, the two voices would align and there would be true harmony. She could wait...if there was one thing she was good at, it was waiting.

A woman in a starched suit came out and called her name. "Saedare Jihaar?" She looked around the relatively empty waiting room for someone of seeming middle easter descent, but found only a 4 foot tall pale-skinnned, winged creature standing to respond to her address. Well, this was Gaia afterall, she'd seen far stranger things working in this place. She beckoned to the Aduthule. "Mr. White will see you now."

Saedare gathered her papers and her bag and followed the secretary down a long hallway, not unlike the ones her sister and she had pasted up slumber party notices in months ago. It felt strange to be walking it as one person instead of two. The journey came to an end at a door with a frosted glass window in it, and the words "Benjamin White - Museum Archives Director" painted on it in black. The secretary opened the door and gestured her inside.

The room Saedare slipped into was dark and comfortably appointed, smelling of wood polish and leather from the furnishings. A balding man with a pipe clamped between his lips sat at a huge desk scouring her resume. She cleared her throat and he looked up. "Ah, Miss Jihaar, please do come in and have a seat. Your resume is most intriguing. It says you were born, of sorts, right here in the museum, in the offices of Aduthule Research?"

The pale creature nodded with a smile. "Yes sir. My twin and I emerged from a relic procured from that department well over a year ago." She folded her hands in her lap, sitting up straight like Sajhiri had reminded her a thousand times to do.

Mr. White nodded. "I see, and you are taking online courses towards a library science degree?"

Again, Saedare nodded. "Yes sir, I've been fascinated by books and information since I learned to read, and my dream is to be a librarian and work with the cataloguing of information. I can't think of a better place to do so than this fine museum."

Mr. White seemed to swell a bit in the head at the compliment to his institution. "Yes, indeed we are quite proud of the information and artifacts we have procured here, and we are in definite need of another assistant to help with the cataloguing process. This position would require that you assist Dr. Dillamond in documenting all incoming books, papers, and artifacts, helping to classify them, and placing them in appropriate storage. Is this something you believe you can do?"

Saedare brightened noticeably at the description of the tasks. "Oh yes sir, that sounds like a perfect match for my skills." She willed her tail not to twitch with excitement.

Mr. White smiled and rose, offering a hand to the much smaller Thule. "Then welcome aboard Miss Jihaar, you can start work on Monday, reporting to the New Aquisitions Cataloguing Department. Dr. Dillamond's office is located there."

Saedare happily shook the director's hand, her tail swooshing back and forth grandly. "Thank you sir, I look forward to Monday!" She skittered out with a gleeful smile on her face, ignoring the nagging voice in the back of her mind shouting, "You have GOT to be KIDDING me! Books all day? Dusty old crap? Cataloguing? This really IS hell!"

Synopsis:Valentine's Day with the Menagerie!

Sajhiri settled down in the center of the couch, with a large bowl of popcorn in her lap. Scattered throughout the living room were paper Valentines that she had given to each member of the Menagerie, and all sorts of candies and chocolates that her "children" had received as gifts. To her right, the Sphinx sat picking discerningly through her box of truffles. The felinid purred contentedly as she popped one in her mouth. "I'm learning to enjoy these human holidays..." she murmured.

Sajhiri chuckled and one foot idly rocked the carrier on the floor in front of her, where Dodge was dozing peacefully, his favorite Kong chew toy clasped in his little hands. The baby ram's day had been a long one. Sajhiri had taken him and Rebecca to the zoo, and the sight of all the big animals had awed him. She'd made a careful effort not to go to the area where the sheep and rams were, so as not to frighten him with the prospect of being caged. It didn't help matters when Rebecca decided she ought to climb into the Lion exhibit. If it wasn't for Dodge's panicked bleating, she might have gotten away with it. Luckily Sajhiri nabbed her halfway over the railing.

Rebecca had squealed in delight at every exhibit, but her favorite part had been feeding the ducks at the duck pond. Even now she was chewing merrily on the bill of her new stuffed duckie which she'd gotten in the zoo gift shop. Which she'd thrown a temper tantrum over until Sajhiri bought it. She was on the floor beside dodge on a blanket, her face smeared with melted chocolate. The precocious redhead loved all holidays with equal zest, so long as she was getting presents.

Curled on Sajhiri's other side on the couch was Saedare. The adult Aduthule still made her do a doubletake everytime Sajhiri saw her. It was so hard to grasp that her twin adopted daughters were now one being, and all grown up. Sae's job at the museum kept her busy and happy. She was truly enjoying cataloguing and occasionally assisting with some research there. The young woman sifted through a pile of DVDs on the coffee table. "Roman Holiday first, then Breakfast at Tiffany's, mom?" she queried.

Sajhiri grinned "That would be lovely!" Every Valentine's Day Sajhiri had an Audrey Hepburn romance movie marathon with the family. She could hear Averno mutter something unpleasant sounding to Arae, where the two Feien fairies were perched on the couch arm. Arae laughed lightly and settled down to watch the first movie.

On the floor beside the couch a trio of Talaye were curled up. They'd gotten biscuits rather than chocolate. Sajhiri knew they weren't precisely dogs, but she didn't want to take the risk, being chocolate is poisonous to canines. Arcus, Caelestis, and the miniature Tantillus were all stuffed and happily dozing.

Jhiri felt the distinct absence of Cervus, the Fey King, but with his Queen so close to giving birth, his absence was understood. Maleficent was perched atop an armchair looking disgustedly at the opening credits. Romance just wasnt the Cait's thing.

Freeze and Gaze were curled up at the foot of the chair, their tails wrapped around one another for warmth, the vulpine slippers quiet and content. Rosco, the Anubii, sat in the chair proper, with Bolie, the Kinoko on his shoulder, and Smooch, the Idle Thought, in his lap. This was their first Valentine's with the Menagerie.

Sajhiri looked around her and smiled. This was her family...from her biological daughter, to the newest adoptees, she loved each and every one of them. It was a holiday about love, and she felt it strongly today.

Synopsis:Saedare's Second Birthday!

Saedare came home from a long, but pleasant, day of cataloguing at the Museum. Her coworkers had brought in cupcakes for her birthday, and she was given a gift certificate by her boss. It had already been a great day, but once she got home, it proved to be even better.

Ten was waiting for her at the door, his eyes bright and eager. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAEDARE!" he yodeled almost musically, zipping to and fro in the front hall of the tower. "I got you a present! I hope you like it!"

She chuckled as she hung her coat up on a hook and let the little Feien fairy lead her by her sparkly scarf towards the dining hall. "How sweet of you Ten! You remembered!" she remarked.

Ten grinned as he passed through the arch into the expansive room beyond, and there were gathered Sajhiri, Telenna, the Sphinx, Rebecca, Averno, Arae, Dodge, and Cervus, all beaming. In unison they shouted "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" and tossed confetti at the stunnded Aduthule. The table was loaded with food and gifts, as well as a large birthday cake.

"Oh thank you! Thank you all, what a great day!" Sedare exclaimed, sniffing back tears of happiness at the sight of her family gathered there for her.

Ten led her to the seat of honor as Averno lit the candles on the cake, and Arae led them all in a rousing chorus of the birthday song. She blew out her candles and wished ardently and secretly for the one thing she still didn't have...a boyfriend.

Ten pushed a heavy-looking rectangular package over to her, wrapped in bright paper with ribbons and bows. "This is from me! I've consulted with all of your family on what things you like, and I hope this is a perfect gift!" the thoughtful creature intoned almost solemnly.

Saedare unwrapped the package with care, and she caught her breath as she revealed a huge old leatherbound book. In gold lettering on the cover it revealed itself to be "An Illustrated Anthropological and Historical account of Piracy on the High Seas". It was everything she loved, both sides of her, history and science and art for the part of her that was still Sedare, and pirates for the tiny piece of Saevire that dwelt within her subconscious.

She bent to kiss the little fairy on the top of his head. "It is most certainly a perfect and perfectly thought out gift my dear boy! Thank you so much!" More gifts followed, Paints and brushes from Arae, a video game from Averno, roses from Rebecca and Dodge, a pretty new party dress from Telenna, a sketchbook from the Sphinx, and from Sajhiri, a gorgeous emerald and diamond pendant with matching earrings and ring, her birthstone!

Her eyes brimmed with tears as she hugged each family member over cake and punch. "I have the best family in the world. I couldn't ask for anything more," she exclaimed. Well...nothing more from them anyway. Just inside, from the universe in general, she asked for someone to share her heart.
