He looked over at the lioness with a questioning look on his face. He had no idea what she was asking about, and he had to think through everything that had just happened before finding it. She was curious like that, speaking in the middle of a thought. It was one of those special little features she had, a little edge to her personality like an edge to a leaf.Th klips, he used. That was it. "I'm not sure, really. They just see so happy. I wonder what their secret is?" He silently wondered if they ever heard the music, but let the thought slip away as he realized that they made the music. Their slow, methodic walk as they grazed stamped out the odd beat that had created the day.
Just as quick as his mind had been on the herbivores, it was back on the tune. It was funny how it always had a way of matching the day's circumstances. Such odd, futuristic music had been the beat of today, and there he was with an odd lioness thinking of odd things. His life had always been like that, a story book told by the beats and rhythms nature made. He had to wonder if that's the way life would always be, and if pride music was any different. That would be a deciding factor in where he wished to live, he decided. The music.
Being a lazy lion, just like every other of his kind, the male gave a wide yawn and looked over at Muujiza. He was craving a good nap in the shade, but didn't want to be rude about it. "Would you mind if I snooze a bit?" He looked at her dreamily, wondering where she would go off to if he were to leave the waking world.

Muujiza nodded her acceptance. Yes, perhaps they were happy. They looked carefree enough, like the leaves that swayed against the branches of a tree, but the klips, too, were bound by some inner force to the earth just as any other creature was, and like the leaves to the branches. And as always with the thought of leaves, she thought back to the last ones she had seen, and her gaze lifted up at the leaves that rustled gently above her head, blocking the sun.
She would very much have liked to live in a world where there were trees and leaves aplenty, and she could only imagine the thrill of walking through a cluster of leafy trees in the morning with the sunlight filtering through at any odd place, and to see the dust rise in the early morning sunlight through the concentrated beams of light that could be seen through the canopy of leaves.
Her thoughts returned at Juke's words. Like most other sounds that reached her ears when she thought of leaves, they were like music, odd music, to be sure, but music nonetheless, and she blinked once before she processed his words. She nodded, "Not at all. I don't suppose you need company?" She added, for she was sleepy enough for a nap, but she hadn't been one to take them for some time and she could always wander on to her next tree, and then perhaps the next, if he would rather nap alone.

Lying down in the shade, he gave another mighty yawn and blinked tiredly. "I don't really, but you're welcome to stay. Sleep if you'd like, or climb the tree, or leave it pleases you." He smiled and nodded, placing his head on crossed paws, but keeping his eyes on Muujiza. "If I were you, I'd climb up the tree. It's really pretty up there, in the leaves. It's like a whole 'nother world..." His voice trailed off as he licked his lips. He wanted to stay awake to make sure Muujiza was comfortable around his tree, but just couldn't fight the oncomming wave of fatigue. It had hit so suddenly, yet so on schedule. Everyday the male took a nice little nap around this time, and today was no day to stop. His eyes drooped, and only seconds later, he was asleep, dreaming of things green and cheery.

Muujiza looked up at the tree at his suggestion. Yes, perhaps she would climb the tree, but also perhaps only for a little while. It was obviously Juke's tree, and no matter how much she liked it, it would still be his tree and she would always be uncomfortable with being in it.
She hugged the trunk with her forepaws and scrambled into its branches, settling into the leaves and closing her eyes. She would be awake soon enough. She stared out at the klips through her cover in the trees, her eyes beginning to close. It took only a moment for her to fall asleep, and in that moment, she dove into a dreamy world of music and birds.
