Animal_Tamer XuvyHorrowitz Thanks for all the info. I guess I just got confused cause our school gets out MUCH earlier than other schools and forgot other peoples were finishing up. ...are you on the east coast? (assuming your in the states at all) I'm On the west, and I just got out of school. It seems to have a sweeping trend from east to west in the order that schools get out. biggrin Midwest, we got out June 1st

Ah, yes, that is about right. I'm in California, and I just got out this past Friday, while others are getting out today.

This is the first conversation I've had with someone on this guild that hasn't taken two days to complete.

Hahaha, well, I'm glad I could be of service. Though, it is probably not appropriate to keep such trivial conversation in a business thread...so if you like, you can join the interesting conversation that involves staples and monocles that I'm currently having with a couple other members in the Comic thread! xp

I read back and someone said we were flaunting Cycon's name.... For the record, without support, Cycon is just another person. Sure, he's a great Flash animator, but without viewers he's nothing but an average animator, and he's even probably said that. The Alliance of Cycon was all about fighting a power... the power of greed in Gaia. We've got to a point in the Alliance where: a) people are wanting to join to smooge with Cycon, or b) people are joining because they feel that the storyline is jagged and too random, and should be based on the population of Gaia, not some crummy NPC storytelling, or c) people are joining to join, then sit on their butts and wait for something to happen and lose interest in the Alliance. (And Cycon isn't the only leader here, the other leaders just have to make themselves stick out a bit... get their names to spread too... That way it just IS the Alliance of Cycon) The greed now rests in our hands, and has to be dealt with. Like a cleansing.
Things have happened, fellow guildmates, that are beyond our control. The new Forum Code itself has been an addition to the sores in our sides. The option "Neither" was lost in the foray of the front page poll due to such new code. Also, the Casino is open.... another sidetrack away from forums and towards random acts of pleas to return the Personals (hey, if we had personals, we wouldnt have the problems that we have in Multiplayer games with those bad titled rooms). My prediction of the storyline continuation on Father's Day? I got it half right half wrong... no more chopper in Durem from the new forum code.
You see, we're in a weird bind. I am too, I'm practically out of work here (glad I have other endevours). New guild members would be cool, but not many are taking part in anything. As a Splinter Cell, I'm trying my best to keep up with people, but real life gets in the way... which is why Cycon isn't here.
We can do the secret guild page route, but it's still kinda useless. We have to wait for this storyline to pick up before we make any moves. Sometimes, defense is your best offense. But that's just me talking...
We are the people, we will overcome. Oh, how we need to decipher those words now more than ever.

Well instead of waiting on our butts for the admins to continue the NPC storylines and such, why not take the storyline into our own hands? afterall, The 'Alliance' has become one of the larger public 'organizations' within Gaia. We do have political power (in a matter of speaking) I'm sure we can do something to effect the plot of the story.

As much as I'd like to think that we can effect the story line, I highly doubt we can, at least not at the moment.
However what Ponza has said has sparked this idea in my brain, an idea I've voiced before but have never really acted upon it...
The guild is here to change gaia; to change it's path away from greed and back to good old fashioned Role Playing like it was mainly used for in the first place. Well, the site has already provided a plotline for an RP. The guild has also included an RPing component into it, that of a war, correct? Well, perhaps one of the reasons why we have had problems with this system is that there is no one RPing the other side of the war, the enemy. The guild is "going down the tubes," so to speak, not because our underlying cause has been lost, but rather the way in which to fight for that underlying cause has.
If we were to cooperate with already existing groups, such as the Gambino and Von Helson Armys (just to name a few), to create a full on War RP, then perhaps we could gain more activity here. We've had problems in the past with members of the guild "attacking" members of those groups because they thought we had done just that, and the members of those groups were thouroughly confused about what was going on. In most cases, these other groups support our underlying cause here in this guild: to rid gaia of all the crazy greed.
If we were to all band together, we could make a very successful War RP, and we would get the message out to a lot of people at the same time. In the RP, new members would be able to choose which side they stand on: Gambino, Von Helson, or Neither. None of these groups would stand for anything more then whom those individual members wish to support as the storyline of gaia progresses.
Wow, this would take a very long time to completely write out, but I think that gives the general idea of what I'm thinking and going with here. We need to seperate out cause from our "side" in the storyline. By promoting such a large RP, we would be contributing to our cause, and we would be gathering a lot of people who we can "educate" about the cause.
Perhaps, rather then worrying about what we are going to do with our "side," we should start cooperating with the other groups, and get a much larger organization running. Perhaps we need a total of four guilds: The Cause (for all members of the RP, here we would educate about the cause, sort of like what we've been doing here in this guild), Gambino (For Gambino supporters within the RP), Von Helson (For Von Helson supporters within the RP), and Neither (For those who support Neither).
I think we definitely have the numbers to make something like this work. Please give me your feedback on the idea. It looks like a very big job, almost overwhelming, but perhaps it is our next step in getting our job done. If there is interest in this idea, then I'll type out whatever other tidbits I can think of to make it work. If anyone has their own ideas, they are welcome too, of course.

That isn't a bad idea, Tamer. But for now, lets just put that idea to the side until Cycon comes back. We can't start it without him... Once he does get back, it is definately worth descussing with him. That also may be the only way we can get noticed...
As for the ideas that Kaoru said, I at one point suggested the 1st idea, but it was ignored... sweatdrop However, the 2nd idea seems to be better than the 1st. We could advertise this guild all we want and then later invite them into the serious guild if they show their dedecation. I doubt someone would get angry about not being invited to join the guild, because almost any person that took the time to know about it is someone we WILL invite. The only time someone could get angry is if they are new in the guild and want to be invited into the hidden one... But they don't even have to know that it exists. Simply sent the invite to the ones we want telling them to keep it secret and not descuss it.
Also, what might lower the amount of simple DCK fans in the guild, is to put up a link to the DCK fan guild on the front page saying something like: If you are here to get to know the DCK members, than you have come to the wrong place. Please go [insert dck fan guild link here]

Yeah, I definitally agree with Kommie on waiting for Cycon until we implament any of these ideas. And I'm glad we're on the same page everyone.
Well, since we've decided to wait before we implament plans, we should discuss what we can do in the mean time. I think we are pretty much in agreement that at least one other guild is going to be needed: whether it will be the hidden guild or one of the four guilds will be decided later. Either way, we are going to need gold to buy the guild. Of course, there is no rush, so we don't need to encourage any greedy polling or anything of that nature. From my understanding, the gold that is currently donated to the guild sort of gets lost into the abyss and no one can access it. I think what we need to do is set up a mule or something and direct our members to contribute there rather then to the guild. In doing so, we'll be able to access that gold for when the guild actually needs it, such as for effecting plans like these. If we want to do this, we are going to need a sticky or something announcing it, since we can't put it up on the home page because only Cycon can access that.
If we follow through with this plan, then when Cycon does come back, we will have the means to take immediate action! biggrin
