Kat's outcry brought the juvenile to a screeching halt, looking back behind him to see the lioness he waas -supposed- to be showing around... instead, he was being a little kid and getting excited over stupid stuff...
again.
"Sorry!" he chimed back in apology, blushing. It wasn't that he expected her to come RUNNING after him... he'd just forgotten that he was almost lose-able in the tall grass that tried so hard to eat him. In fact, he was barely taller then it.
Again, he couldn't wait to grow up and be big. :< Then nothing would try to be bigger than him ever again! (Except rocks. But Ai knew better than to mess with those, afterall. )
Sitting down in the grass, Ai waited for Kat, doing his best to NOT be a jitterbug. Afterall.. today had been more exciting than he'd expected!

As Kat got nearer she smiled and watched him just sit there and look cute. She felt an urge to reach out towards him and ruffle the fur atop his head, soon it would start growing into a mane. She wondered if he would remember her when he grew, if she came back here to stay.
"No worries Ai, I just didn't want to lose you and be all alone here...would be rather odd to see someone walking around alone don't you think?" She thought others would think of her being suspicious, and she DID NOT want that to happen. She wanted to be on good terms with those here, not bad terms.
"Soon you'll be tall enough that I wouldn't be able to lose you though, I can already see you mane on your head Ai," she said with a smile and a playful nudge against his small shoulder. It was a soft nudge though, she didn't want to push him over.
Yes, she could already see the big strong male lion in him already.
She kept wondering (though she didn't know why) if when he got big and handsome, that if he would still remember her when other females would throw themselves at him. She hoped he wouldn't.

Ai considered what Kat said for a moment. Well, he couldn't see why anybody would think so. People wandered as they wished about here, alone or otherwise (though it was hard to be so, since you ran into someone every so freaking other step. ).
Keeling a bit to one side when he shoulder was nudged, Ai caught himself with a quick movement (though he'd been of no threat of falling over, really...), then beamed with pride. "Yeah... It's been kinda growing for a long time. When I was little, I didn't really have to guess what it'd look like..." he beamed. Indeed, Ai was -very- proud of how quickly his mane-to-be had started to grow.
It'd be the most beautimous thing EVER.
Now that Kat was caught up, he rose up to his feet again, starting to go lead the way to their water-y destination, oblivious to the thoughts on the adult's mind.
Afterall, it wasn't on HIS mind that anybody would think so much about the future... especially that of himself. It all seemed so far away, afterall.

Kat started walking beside him as they continued on again. Indeed his mane would be different from most she had seen. Striped mane? Unheard of since before now. She never thought others could have striped mane, then again, she had a striped tuft of fur on her head. So why would it be different with others? She didn't know, perhaps it was just something she believed in her head for a little while.
"Are you the only one in your family that will have a mane like yours? I mean, well, between you and your siblings that is..." Perhaps he was the only one. That would be nice for him, to have something others didn't.
In the not too far distance, she could see a shining blue...thing. Water obviously, but it was HUGE compared to what she was usually accustomed too. No wonder so many thrived here, there was so much space and food and water. No surprise as to why life thrived.

Ai thought about it for a minute. Well.. "I think so. Daddy doesn't have a striped mane, and I don't think Jing will either. I think he's getting daddy's mane.... and then my sister's won't have manes at all..." there was a bit of a beam of pride for a minute. Then a pause. "But I do think my mane will look like one of my nephew's.. he's got a striped mane." he explained. He had this thoughtful expression on his face before he continued; "And so does my half-brother..." he stated.
Strange. Now that he thought about it, there were a -couple- of striped manes out in the pride lands.
Not that he cared that much. Afterall, he had the cool gold-and-white banding on his arm. And -nothing- beat that.
Though Kat had spotted the water-hole first, it didn't seem all that 'huge' compared to what Ai was used to. Afterall.. he'd grown up in it. Bounding ahead when it was in HIS sight, he paused when he was a few feet ahead, peering over the grass. Strange.
"Hmm... Looks like we're the only ones here..." he noted.

Kat peered around. It did seem like no one else was there. Did something happen where everyone was supposed to be? Oh no, what if she did something wrong? She padded closer to Ai and stood by his side, surely nothing bad would happen to her if Ai was here. He would tell others she didn't do anything wrong.
Least, she hoped he would if the time called for it.
But then the water caught her interest, quickly she padded to the edge, peered inside. She saw some fish scatter away from the edge, and she craned her neck over to lap up some water. It tasted...different, in a good way though. Perhaps this water was more pure then other water she had to drink out in the rogeulands.
After she was done, she joined Ai again, and looked around. She thought more lions would be here. Hmmm.

There was a great amount of consideration taken in step with the lack of life in the area from Ai. He was -so- used to practically tripping over company when he went anywhere.. it felt so...... strange... to be somewhere he was expecting to practically fall over familiarity, but there wasn't any.
He peered about for a while, before frowning a bit, thinking.
"...... How strange.." he mused, before he tossed the thought out of his head without so much as giving it another glance. Then, looking up at Kat, he inquired; "So.. are you ready to go, or...?"
Ick.. shortness..

Kat smiled and nodded, "Yes, I'm ready," she couldn't wait to see more of the Pridelands. Perhaps they might see someone Ai knew, so she could get to know someone else here. But if not, that was alright, being shown around by Ai was great. Plus, she wasn't sure if her nervousness would come back with other lions approaching them. But, who knew really?
She wondered what other great things they could go see.
Perhaps, a nice place to sit and watch the sun set or rise? "Where do you like to go Ai? To play and stuff?"

Up and moving again, Ai gave half a second of thought to the question asked. "Well.. I just kinda go wherever. As long as it's not TOO far away from home and not too close to the areas of the lands that are dangerous, I think that's all I really specify in where I play." he stated, nodding a bit while he trotted along, having fun in playing 'follow the leader'.
Thinking again, the juvenile pondered on -where- exactly he wandered off to most often to play.. well.. "The place closest to home I'd -like- to play is the tip of Pride Rock... but I've been warned that there have been lions that fell off it that were much bigger than me, so I shouldn't."
There was a bit of a glint in his eyes, before he grinned. "But I do anyways." he admitted, laughing a bit. Oh, he was SUCH a troublemaker, ne? But he took pride in being that way.

Kat listened and went along with him, smiling at him. Listening to where he played, and where, the tip of Pride Rock! It was such a high place! He...had had played on it anyway? "So brave..." she said softly with a nod. She would be afraid to get too close to the edge, she would be afraid of falling off so badly. She shuddered at the idea of falling.
"You do like to do what you wish Ai, I admire that, but do be careful," she didn't want him hurt, it was a friend request. She didn't want to have him get hurt and she find out that perhaps she could've stopped him if she said something she hadn't.
Ugh, she was confusing herself.

Ai beamed at the compliment. Of -course- he was brave! If he wasn't brave, nothing was. (Alright, so that was his ego talking, but he couldn't help it!)
The juvenile frowned a bit at the older lion's warning, ears drooping a bit. Mom had always told him to listen to his elders.. but listening to friends was better, thus it was taken into account more willingly then if any of the other elders about the lands had asked him to do it. Because if they -had-, he would probably ignored it.
"Oh don't worry, I am careful. I don't stray -too- close to the edge, promise." he assured, grinning happily.
He was -such- a little kid!

Kat smiled as he said he promised he wouldn't get too close to the edge. Would be horrible if he slipped. She shook her head, she didn't want to think about that, she must not think about that. But she was glad he took it into consideration, she knew she was rebellious around her sister.
She wondered where they were heading now. She really didn't want this tour to end. Everything here looked so pretty, she loved it. But she was nervous if she would actually be accepted here, wary of what others might think. But then again, Ai was here, he was a good friend. If he was here, things would be good.

Ai had to wonder where the 'tour' would go next as well, pondering on -just- where he was going to go show her next. It was... kinda strange. Normally it felt like he had all SORTS of things to show people. but... he was guessing that as -cool- as all the bugs and patches of mud, and rocks, and patches of water, and animal holes were....? They weren't gonna be -that- fascinating to Kat.
Hmm...
"Well........ where should we go next...?" he pondered aloud, giving Kat opportunity to pip in any suggestions -she- may have had... Since -Ai- certainly didn't.. and he wasn't about to walk towards anything, since it would be -his- luck to want to go somewhere else COMPLETELY in another direction once he'd decided it.

Kat looked around. She had seen so much, it was so lovely. Decisions decisions. She knew what she wanted, she wondered if this place could offer it. But she was apprehensive of throwing herself into a place just because it looked nice. She didn't want to come here and be alone. She wanted to not be alone, that was the thing.
Her eyes peered towards the sun's placement in the sky, her ears folded back. It was getting late, she would have to find her underbrush spot again, and it was hard to when it was dark. She wondered if she would be cold tonight.
"Perhaps we should head back...to where, I saw you first?" her tone of voice showed how depressed she was over the situation. She had finally made such a nice caring friend, and then she had to go back to that of which she hated.
She hoped and prayed Ai would not be mad at her.

Ai looked up at Kat when she made her suggestion, frowning a bit. ".... Alright... I guess.." he agreed, a bit of reluctance in his voice, before he turned, starting to head off towards where the pair had first met up...
Was she leaving him now? The thought made the boy frown a bit. They'd just met.. he didn't want her to leave yet! But.. it sounded to him like she didn't want to go anywhere either...
Maybe she -had- to go...?
As he trudged along, the dark juvenile held his head low, whining a bit. He was gonna get LONELY again when she left.....
Which was strange for him to think...
he was sad a GIRL was leaving.... but she was.. so different.
