"Eat you?" Daray laughed. "What sort of nonsense is that, Chase?"
Laughing on the outside, Daray was frozen on the inside. He knew that Aita was his friend and that she had cannibalistic tendencies... had those same tendencies started rubbing off on him?
Shaking the thought out of his head, he let his laughter die down into chuckles as they approacted the forest's entrance. What a dark and scary place it was... even the light seemed too scared to enter it's depths.
Then the thought struck him. "How will we be able to find our way back outside if we get lost inside the forest?"

Chaser couldn't help but blush from the humilation of that she shuffeled her hooves as she gave a slight giggle"Well you were so black!I have alwyas been around boring old natural colored horses!They were always so nice until I met Rahu but thats another story for another time"Her cyrstal blue eyes lurked inside of the forest
Chaser looked back at him how would they get back?!Ha she knew that already"I'll keep track of the land even thhough it's dark things stand out like a sore thumb trust me I should know"she looked at her hooves as she gave a small laugh again
Chaser stood next to him as she waited for him to be ready she was shaking a bit but she shook her head thinking to herself'Don't be a baby!ou'll lookl like an idiot infront of your freind!'chaser flipped her purplish mane checking for her flower it was still there she gave a smile"Shall we take are leave into the forest?"

"Yes..." he replied slowly, scanning the area, "I believe we shall."
Walking slowly forward, ensuring that Chaser was close to him at his side, Daray made his way into the entrance of the forest. The first thing he noticed was how dark it was in the forest. The sun's bright rays seemed to be missing within the trees, as shadows lurked around every corner and everything.
What was the worst detail, he came to notice, was the fact there was no other sound than the sound of their hooves crunching the leaves and twigs on the earth's floor. There were no chirping of birds, singing of crickets, nothing. Just utter silence.
And that's what scared him most of all.

Chasers eyes scanned the forest no sound....no laghing of indians no sounds of other soquili playing or talking but what drew her attention more was that no birds were here not even the darkest of birds like the crow.She shffled a bit closer to Daray giving a shiver of sadness.
The darkness reminded her of one of her old friends when she was with her famil.He always sulked and hated when others were around except her.She felt sadness wash over her.She closed her eyes as she walked.She saw him her eyes shot open.
Chaser looked around when she saw something very pretty it was shiny even without any light she waled over to it giving Daray a swish of her tail to tell him her eyes looked at the rock"It's so....pretty"The sadness left her as she looked at it"dar...come here"

He noticed that Chaser was now shivering... was it because of the cold.. or was it something else? He nudged her playfully and grinned, hoping to lighten up the mood in such a dark setting.
All of a sudden, the mare trotted forward, studying something. When she called over to him, he trotted up beside her quickly, eyeing her find.
"What is it?" he asked.

Chaser eyes widened as it gleamed she watched it she looked up as a small bit of light was shed on this...rock she guessed she gave a smile"I think it's a crystal"her eyes were soft as it looked like her eyes
The crystal blue flooded her with happiness as she watched it change colors from the wind her heat gave a little thump as she watched it"it's so...beautiful"He eyes looked into his as she gave a small giggle
She swished her tail as she looked at him her eyes were soft"I don't think the person couldn't come back I think they didn't want to come back"She turned her head towards the crystal with a smile"I mean with things like that around...I wouldn't want to leave either"

He had never seen such a beautiful stone before... what was a crystal? Did it mean that the rock had a special power since it wasn't just called a rock? Or maybe it was called a "crystal" because it was a particularly pretty rock.
Stumped, Daray studied the blue shimmering light reflecting from the crystal, and smiled. Whatever it was, it sure was pretty.
Looking up, he nodded his head to Chaser's words. "I wonder if there are lots more of these around this forest? They're so beautiful... do they do something special?"

Chaser gave a laugh as she could see him struggle to understand what the crystal was. She turned to him as she smiled "A crystal is a rock a very rare one at that...in the light it gives a glow like you see know"
Chaser gave a giggle as she felt like such a nerd knowing all this as she watched the crystal as it amazed her she didn't think that there would be more of them.
Chaser gave a small sigh of happines as she walked towards the entrence as she looked at him "If I am correct they'll wont be" she gave a slight yawn as she watched him her eyes got heavy she was suddenly tired and hungry

He noticed her sudden mood change and trotted over to her side.
"Are you feeling alright, Chase?" He asked softly, concern in his dark orange eyes. He had forgotten completely about the shiney rock and hoped his friend wasn't feeling physically ill. The woods seemed to be a mysterious place... he wouldn't push his superstitions aside and not believe there could be some dark magic lurking behind the trees.

Chaser smiled as she poked his flank as she shuffled her feet"No..I am just tired..."She gave another yawn as she thought about Tally's baskets..she got to watch over them! She was so excited to but she gave a little gasp in happiness her eyes watched him"Oh sorry..I remeberd I get to watch a friends baskets" another yawn rose from her mouth as she gave alittle sigh

"Baskets?" Daray took a step back in confusion. "You mean... as in foal's baskets?"
He himself was too wild and immature to father, and he knew it deep down in his heart. He had no interest to father children... at least, he thought he didn't. He was never really around foals enough to think about them... he wondered what his friends thought of foals. Would the dark and evil Aita want foals of her own? Would the fun-loving jovial Chaser want foals to run around with?
He shook his head and cleared his mind. No, no parenting thoughts now... time to concentrate on the present, not the future.
"So, what.. are you going to be an aunt now or something?"

Chaser gave a slight laugh as she shook her head"No I am not I am just going to baby sit sometimes"She smiled as she shuddered.She had just well....let Micah so he could be with Rocky Lynn she shook her head with a sigh.It seemed she would never have baskets of her very own...never to be a mother like she wanted to she shrugged to herself.
She gave another yawn as she watched him ponder as well she cocked her head a bit"Whats with all the thinking Dar?You seemed confused"The only reason Chaser said this is because she was trying to hide her own confusion...about love...she shook her mane again
Millions of nasty thouights ran into Chaser's head but she put on her very best fake smile to Daray hopefully this time it would foul him.Another shudder came to her mind as she tried to keep them out but one she couldn't stop thinking about...was she never to be loved?

Daray sighed. It was quite obvious that Chaser was upset over something, though she tried to hide it from her.
"You know," he started, cocking one eyebrow up as he tilted his head at her, "hiding things from your friend is never a good thing, Chase. So what's going on?"

Chaser gave a smile as she gave a laugh"Nothing! There is nothing wronge!"Alright sshe knew he caught on he wasn't stupid she shook her head and smiled a bit"I left Micah but hey thats not a problem right? He was cheating so I left" She shruged she was over it...very over it in fact.
Chaser watched the sky for a bit as she ponderd about Tally and her kids she was so excited to play with them when they hatched she couldn't help but run and find them! She never really played with a foal well except for Viscoso of corse she let a little laugh break out...she was so excited!

She didn't seem to be mourning the betrayal of a sweetheart, Daray noted to himself as he watched her shrug her shoulders. Perhaps she's had time to think about the situation. He trotted up to her and gave her another "horse hug" and smiled down gently at her.
"I'm sorry to hear about you and Micah, Chase sweetie." he said quietly, watching her watch the sky in thought. He wondered what she was thinking about. About Micah? About her future? About the new babies that seemed to be crawling out of their baskets for the past week?
"Sugar cube for your thoughts." he chuckled, and gave her a little nudge with his muzzle against her cheek.
