Lost and Found 1 Finding a labyrinth.
Thorn had crawled away from the chaos of the arguing adults long enough to commune with the shop once again. She felt closer to the shop than any of the more organic lifeforms running around her home. As tiny sparks ignited within her crystalline shards, she felt a sudden pull toward another section of the shop. There was something hidden within one of the rooms- something the shop wanted her to find. Crawling as fast as she could manage, Thorn set out to find... well, whatever it was that was lost.

Lost and Found 2 Finding a labyrinth.
Thorn wasn't sure exactly how long she had been crawling around, but her tiny arms and legs ached from the effort. Many times, the corridors seemed to shift drastically- but if it was to help or irritate, she did not know. Finally, she came upon a large door that was cracked open just enough to let a shaft of light into the dark room. This was it! A raspy coo of happiness slipped past her lips, and she crawled into the dark space as quickly as her stubby limbs would carry her.

Lost and Found 3 Finding a labyrinth.
A thin shaft of light stretched across the dark room, falling faintly on the corner of what appeared to be a wooden box. Thorn crawled over to the strange box, and saw a multitude of grooves were carved deep within the top of the rectangular box. A thick veil of dust had settled on the wooden maze, but six small metal balls could still be seen trapped within the grooves. Thorn clumsily nudged the box, shaking puffs of dust from its surface. The dust flew into the air, catching bits of light and giving the appearance of dancing fireflies. She squealed and slapped her hand happily against the box again, sending the metal balls whizzing around the maze like drunken silver bees.
The sparks within her crystalline shards grew brighter with each movement of the box, until the whole room was filled with dancing lights and crackling sound.

Inspection To and fro.
Thorn toddled through Casa, inspecting every last detail as though looking for code violations. Sparks were ever-present deep within her crystalline shards, and occassionally shot out in tiny bolts of energy when passing a computer console. The wooden maze box was drug along everywhere she went, and seemed nearly permanently attached to the young girl. Six silver balls within the maze whizzed to and fro with each step, haphazardly traversing each groove of the labyrinth. She continued her walk through the building, as though searching for another treasure to match the box.

They Go In But sometimes don't come out.
There was one section that felt different from the rest of MEF and Casa- the temple. The building materials were exclusive to that area, and the design much more complex. Thorn spent many hours studying the outer rooms and corridors of the temple, avoiding the strange entities that moved within the temple- the shop said they were dangerous. She had seen one of the staff members chase Jabberwock's trail a few hours earlier, but only the monster had come out. Thorn briefly wondered what happened to the staff member, but was quickly distracted by the discovery of a new set of stone carvings.

Pattern Bad trend.
More people had entered the temple the day before and failed to come out. It was becoming a disturbing trend. Thorn was careful to study the temple at a distance, and was quick to get to the safety of Casa when one of the labyrinth's monsters began moving about. She didn't know what the monsters were called, or even what they looked like- just that they inhabited the temple and could manuever its twists and turns with seemingly effortless ease. Her curiousity was tempered by her common sense- so far.

Questions. Patience.
The minotaur still stalked the temple construction area, but had been quiet lately. Thorn preferred that section to be quiet, because sound seemed to always lead to people coming up missing. The shop had continued its many lessons, and each one seemed more difficult than the last. She wondered where the lessons were leading, but knew it was not her place to ask such things... or at least not yet.

Got a call from my mom around 4am this morning- my dad had a heart attack. He's at the hospital, and his vitals are improving- so hopefully this means the worst of it is over. He's just gone in to have a heart cath test.
I'm heading to Houston soon to be with my dad, should be there in roughly 8-9 hours. I won't be back for a bit, so if you don't hear from me- that's why. Wish me luck on my trip, and see you all in a few weeks, if all goes as well as can be expected. heart Fandangle journal check is being moved to April 1, for what is probably a pretty obvious reason.
All of my breedable journals are on hiatus until I get back.
