"Met him here, he arrived shortly after I did, we were friends at first, and we just kept growing closer, and eventually I moved in with him and we share a duplex... He's special, he's protected me as much as he can given the circumstances... my first love... and I think the same visa versa" She smiles, her tongue flickering as her head turns slightly and peers at hte foliage

[/He stared out to the lake, imagining how that day must have been. The lake was indeed beautiful- and cold. He was suddenly reminded as he shivered in a passing breeze.

"Brrrrrr.... okay... jumping into the lake wasn't the smartest thing I've done.. now I'm cold." he laughed mockingly at himself and wrung his tie out into his lap.

His attention followed hers to the foliage, wondering if there was something or someone they should be wary of. "Hm?"

"Meeting people here on this island is not hte first thing I would have imagined to happen, especially not ones I care for in that way... I never paid attention to love before here... " Her eyes focused, "have you had any odd... cravings or anything yet?"

"I haven't craved anything out of the ordinary. I haven't had a good night's sleep in over a week." he continued to watch both her and the foliage. What was she getting at? "I've had these really bad headaches since I've been here.. I think it's just because of my lack of sleep and stress.. but that doesn't really seem odd."

"Sometimes I blame all symptoms on the serums... you never know after all... Keep your thoughts on any cravings though... they can be a hint..." she moved towards the foliage her attention split, she'd long given up fighting the instintcs the komodo gave her

"Guess you don't know what you'll be then?" she asked this, her question a touch quieter then her previous words

Fascinated by her behavior, Jordan watched with interest, Was she.. stalking! She'd obviously heard something squirming in the foliage and her predatory instincts would have her investigate. That was a rather lucid moment in the haze of sleeplessness.

His brow quirked as he realised this was liek many National Geographic programs he'd seen in the past, but he played it off as if in response to her question. "I have no clue what animal Doctor Moreau has chosen for me. Long story short: I was given the standard two innoculations, told they were to protect me from jungle diseases, and then sent to my duplex. Of course... now I know what they were really meant to do for me.."

Had she been paying full attention she would have mentioned she had no clue how many shots she had got when she first arrived thanks to being drugged, but at that moment she'd reached the edge of the foliage, and after a moment of pure silence a sharp clawed forepaw (hand) reached forward and a moment later pulled back pulling a squirming rabbit with it, one who's back and side were deeply pierced with Joli's sharp claws, and almost as if perfect timing her stomach rumbled

It was only natural to obey her predatory instincts, but even so, the sight of her claws sunk into the hide of a squeeling, shrieking rabbit had been more bothersome than it should have been. This was the wild and the 'laws of the wild' were the rule now. Jordan didn't say anything, though. Hopefully she would have been too distracted by her prey to notice.

The animal instincts were strong, that's for sure. Would he become a predator, one who preferred live, warm, still-breathing prey as opposed to the cooked, processed food offered in the cafeteria? He didn't want to keep looking, but as if a train wreck had happened infront of him he ouldn't look away. Like it or not, he had to adjust to this as being normal now. Joliette certainly wouldn't be the only predator he'd come across, not with so many residents.

He was fascinated in almost a morbid way- but stunned.

She sunk her calws deep in it's side until it stopped making noise... and moving... about then she remembered she wasn't alone and peers back at him and gives a week, meek look "Sorry... " she usually didn't hunt in front of others... this seemed to be an exception tot he rule somehow...

"I... no, please don't be sorry." he shook his head. "Don't go hungry on my account." He didn't want her to feel regret for doing what came naturally and it had been rude to stare like that. He was sure it was unappreciated ot have company when hunger struck. "Does.. it taste like chicken?" he put on a smile as he tried to make a joke to reduce the tension.

"Chicken?" she stared at him a moment then got his joke and chuckled lightly "Nope, it tastes like rabbit" she pauses and looks back at the rabbit feeling a tad bit self conscious and definetaly a touch embarrased "I hate that this kind of thing is all I can eat now... Do you eat meat and such?" she asked over her shoulder and then took a large tearing bit from the rabbit's plump side

He smiled at her, thinking he pulled that awkward moment out of the fire. "Not a whole lot, but a quality piece of meat is good every now and then. I can imagine a strictly-carnivorous diet is difficult to get used to." Especially when she was vegan.. Oddly enough, her biting into the dead rabbit didn't phase him as much. It was dead, afterall. And it was like feeding time back at the zoo. It was just another slab of meat now, at least he tried to convince himself that. Overlooking the fact that it still had fur and wasn't prepared made it a bit harder, but then again, he'd never had a problem eating a hamburger. That was just a cow that had been slaughtered, processed and prepared in a plastic package. The rabbit was the same way for the komodo.. just without the middle man.

Her attention stayed focussed in eatting a short time and then once she was done she pushed away the remainders, the innards... away from her and intot he bushes beefore moving back to the water and splashing a little int eh water "Sorry, instincts" she says a moment later sounding a lil sheepish.

He reassured her that it was fine. "I'm going to have to get used to it, sooner or later." he tugged the brow of his wet cap down. "Especially if it's going to happen to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you.. uhm.. what I meant is.." he was stammering his words in a feeble attempt to keep the peace and not look disgusted. His stomach felt as if it had bottomed out, watching the innards discarded into the foliage. "It's okay." he resolved to say with a soft nod.

He watched her splash in the water.. she was once human.. He felt another twinge of pain strike him.. those headaches.. "Argh..." he thought he'd said quietly, but quite the opposite. He cupped his hands together and rubbed his face tiredly, letting out frustrated breaths.

"argh? whats wrong?" she looks up at him and looks curiously at him, she wasn't sure what was bothering him, and now that she was cleaned up she gave him her attention once more
