"For dinner..? Is that Barrin-nii? He said to call him when an angel came here... is that you..?" He asked, looking to where he last saw Barrin, though he had moved.

“Yes I suppose the wolf did say his name was Barrin. I see he is far to important to wait on me himself.” The angel pulled something from his basket and flew up to beside the man in the tree. “Would you like a chocolate tart for your trouble?”

Jakob looked at the Tart, a little confused. "Barrin isn't like that.. he needed to get something just before you arrived. I didn't know you was having dinner... or I wouldn't have come along. It seems rather rude of me." He shook his head at the tart, the meer look of it making him feel a bit sickly.

“Don’t worry, neither did Barrin it was just an extension of a little joke from yesterday.” The angel returned to the ground sweet still in hand “You are more then welcome to join us if you like.” Pulling several covered dishes, a bottle of wine, and some bread and cheese from the basket. Jack looked up again. “Do you need any help getting down while we wait or your friend to return?” Busying himself with arranging the items on the blanket he said much softer “You must be Jakob, he spoke of you, you know.”

"Help would be most apreciated... My hooves don't fair well in climbing tree's. Barrin put me up here because it was more sheltered and warmer up here." He explained softly. "if it's not too much bother... I'd like that." He smiled faintly.

Jack flew up and put his arms around the other boy. Gently sliding him off of the branch the angel extended his wings fully. He wouldn’t be able to truly fly with the extra weight, but he could glide them both down gently. Setting the small boy on the blanket Jack puller the commercial quick start fire log out of the basket along with a box of matches. Starting a fire he studied the boys face in the flickering light.

Jakob gave a slight squeek as he was lifted up, but when he was settled back on the ground he huddled up in his blanket. He smiled softly at the fire, unaware of the other's watching.
"It's warm." he stated, giving a gentle murr.

Shaking his head Jack said quickly. “Well, fire tends to be dear.” Allowing a smile to cross his face for an instant he asked. “Do you know when Barrin will be back?”

Jakob shook his head, looking to Jack. "No, but I expect it'll be soon, even just to check on me." He assured him, smiling back at him.
Sure enough, the wolf appeared from the trees, and chuckled at the sight. "Sorry, am I interrupting your picnic?" He asked softly, moving to sit by the artificial fire. It was warm never the less."

“Isn’t that obvious?” Jack said smirking up at the wolf. “I’ve been trying to tempt sweet Jakob here with a tart, but alas it seems my hospitality just isn’t good enough.” pulling the last item from the basket, a paper bag, he tossed it at Barrin. “I have several sausages for our main course. I was hoping you could prepare them for us.” The angel grinned “Perhaps you could smoke them?”

Barrin grinned darkly, nodding, before setting to the task of smoking them to be eaten.
Jakob smiled, watching him. "Barrin is really good at cooking things in the wild... He'd always be able to cook things up when we were on the streets. We'd save up the money we begged for to buy some cheap food to cook every night." He nodded, somehow being quite proud of that.

Jack grinned back at the wolf before turning back to the unicorn. “So I take it Barrin has always taken very good care of you.” Looking directly at the wolf he asked the next question very directly. “Are the two of you just friends?”

"No. We're brothers." He said simply, looking back up at the angel. "Not blood relatives, but that's who we are."
Jakob giggled and nods. "Yup, Barrin's my sorta big brother. He keeps me out've trouble and looks after me well." He said with a proud nod.

Turning to the Jakob the angel smirked. "Does it take a lot of work to keep you out of trouble?"

"Only when I faint..." He said, going a little quiet and looking away."
Barrin left the sausages to smoke, before going over to the Unicorn. "Ay, don't worry about it kiddo, you were just sick that's all, you can't help it." He reassured him, whiping away the small tears that appeared at Jakob's eyes.
