Journal Entry
"Grape Jelly Incident."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

It was lunch time! Yummy yummy lunch! "Mm.. Mmm... M-mm!" I hummed a bit as I swung my feet on the chair. Lunch was good today. Peanut butter and Jelly. It was so good! The peanut butter was all over my fingers when I smooched my hand into it. I wanted my sandwich flat so I could fit it in my mouth!

Giggling a bit to myself I held my sandwich in one hand as I raised the other, using my tongue to lick away at the grape jelly that was sliding down my arm. Mommy put too much on it this time! Because from the sandwich a large glop fell!

"Uh-oh..." I said, gasping as I looked at the purple glop on my shirt, it rolling down to land on my pants. EW! "Moooooommmmy!" I whined, frowning down at the mess of my clothing.

She came quickly, and I just blinked up at her innocently. It wasn't my fault the jelly fell! Stupid jelly! I threw the sandwich down onto the plate and it splattered, this time jelly getting into my face. The jelly was on me! I couldn't stop my tears, Mommy was going to be mad at me because she always said not to get my food on me.

I listened as she sighed and muttered things to herself, wiping off the jelly. My shirt and pants were ruined she said, then scooped me up to take me to a bath. NO! I didn't want a bath. Crossing my arms over my chest I looked up at her and whined. "No bath!" But she wasn't listening. I did of course have peanut butter all over my hands and now jelly on my face!

The bath water was drawn and I was stripped then placed into the warm water. Ok.. This wasn't so bad! I giggled lightly as my bath toys were added and began to make bubbles with the whale. I didn't even realize when Mommy left the room to try and save my clothing, these bath toys were too much fun!

"Kuuuuuuurssh!" I shouted as I made the whale dive out of the water, hitting the other side of the tub and bursting with bubbles. I giggled, crawling over to get to the whale to repeat this. It was so much fun!

Mommy came back soon enough, looking a bit tired. I could tell because she had that sleepy look in her eyes. "Ok Belinda.. Time to wash up and get out." She placed something down on the toilet seat but before I could see she was blocking my view and kneeling at my side. She took my hands and washed them first, then let my place once more while she washed my hair gently. I like it when Mommy washes my hair!

I was rinsed off and then lifted out and wrapped up in a towel. I giggled happily when I felt Mommy's fingers tickling my sides through the towel, smiling big when she stopped and kissed my cheek. I love Mommy! Once my body was dry she rubbed the towel all over my hair to get the water off.

"Well Belinda... I have your clothing in the wash. Let's hope the stain comes out. For now you can have some of Tasa's clothing." A pair of my undies was put on first before I saw a flash of red. Blinking at the fabric I smiled at Mommy when my head came out the right hole, helping by poking my hands out their holes. Looking down I was wearing a red t-shirt that had the bottom cut off to fit me better. There was a large black paw print on the front and a few more up the right sleeve. I giggled, I liked this new shirt. A pair of pull string black shorts were added next, Mommy pulling it tight enough so they wouldn't fall off my bottom.

"Alright.. Let's brush out your hair then you can go play." Mommy told me as she got out my special brush, it was a 'pick' as she called it, and ran it gently through my hair for me. I didn't like those prickerly brushes. They hurt my head!

Soon enough my bottom was given a little playful tap and I was told to get out of here. I wasted no time in running off to my room to play with my toys!

IM RP with Evarobby
Sept 11th & 12th - Still To Be Continued

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

Ballentine
The day was quite warm, the sun beating down almost mercilessly as the children ran around the park. Ballentine had brought her children to the park to play, a special outing. Edward, Bricriu and Hugo were running around playing tag, Waya having wandered off and Belinda quite happy in the sandbox. Tasanee and Jason had stayed home, and Ballentine was content to just sit under a tree and read her book. Time to time she glanced up to check on everyone - and making sure they were fine went back to her reading. Besides her was a picnic basket that held snacks and drinks for the kids should they come to need it.

But to the important part, Belinda. The child was contently smacking the sand with her plastic shovel into the plastic pale. Though each time she tipped it to try and create that sand castle the sand wouldn't hold the shape of the shovel. Frustrated by the 4th try she growled a bit jamming the shovel into the annoying sand. "Stay!" She shouted at the pale turning it once more only to grow more frustrated as the 5th time failed as well. Why wouldn't it stay?!

Freize
Phew. The weremutt tilted his head back, staring up towards the sky for a moment or so, his thoughts disrupted by Eva's tugging at his hair. He half-smiled and then continued onwards. His other children had gone on a little trip with Ajani, leaving Evarobby who hadn't wanted to leave his side. Since everyone else got a little treat of sorts, he promised his joey-boy that they would go to the park. And here they were, at the park. The tiny Eden, a bit small for his age, was settled up on his Da's shoulders, little hands nestled in the navy hair. This'd be fun! Eva had lotsa fun last time he was here.

The male stopped, lifting the child from his shoulders to set him gently on his feet. Evarobby excitedly looked about, and then made his way towards whatever was closest. Which happened to by the sandbox. Ears perked, his expression grew curious and he peered over at the girl already occupying it... Whozzat? She had ears and a tail too! The boy beamed and want to settle on the edge of the sandbox, waving silently but enthusiastically at her. He didn't make noise. He never did.

Freize let out a sigh and glanced about. What to do now?

Ballentine
Seeing something moving out of the corner of her eyes, Belinda glanced up and focused upon the boy. He seemed... Annoying. Just by the looks of him! Pursing her lips into a little frown, that pale was tightly clutched into her little hands. "Wha?" It was a simple question as she tipped her head to the side. If this boy wanted the sand box he was in store for a grave misfortune... and a shovel in his face.

Freize
The little guy's ears folded back and he backed off immediately as soon as he picked up anger... He didn't like upseting people. He turned away quickly and just stared at the grass for now, trying to keep out of angry-girls way until she was okay and wanted to play. He liked to play... But she didn't seem to wanna right now... Maybe later... He squirmed slightly, frowning.

Ballentine
Relieved that the boy was leaving Belinda tried once more to get the sand to work right. Packing it in nice and good, this time with her hands, she'd turn it quickly upside down. "One.. Two..." She stared, and on three she pulled the pale up only to watch as the sand spilled into the pile.

"NAH!" She shouted in frustration, throwing the pale which would conveniently land at the boy's feet. From the sandbox, Belinda pouted. Great! Just great... Not only did she have bad sand now she just lost her pale.

Getting onto her hand and knees she crouched real low, her nose practically inhaling the sand on the edge of the sand box as she watched what the boy would do. Would he touch her pale or simply walk away? Though she knew if she left the box the chubby kid on the swing would come and claim in... that chubby kid had been eyeing the box since she got in. Oh the drama of a child's playground!

Freize
Of course he couldn't just sit there and wait. Bah. That was far too boring. So he turned his attention to the sky for a bit, watching as birds flew by and landed in the trees... Ooh, trees! He would have to check those out later! He loved trees. Eva blinked, ears swivveling towards the thunk of something at his feet. Whazzat? A pale? Didn't that girl...

He stooped to cautiously pick it up, turning his body now towards the other Eden, extending it out infront of him and trudging a bit closer. He offered it out to her, head tilting itself to one side. Why had her pale gone flying? He was certain pales didn't fly... Maybe she was magic or something, this girl. She could make pales fly. He wished he could do that, but he could only climb real good. Oh well. He gave a crooked smile whilst playing gentleman, remaining silent.

Ballentine
Belinda's fingernails dug deep into the wood of the sandbox. Well.. What fingernails she had as she chewed them on occasion. The boy touched it.. He was touching her pale! A low growl would emit from her throat as the boy approached and once in arms reach her arm shot out. Almost instantly the pale was once more in her grasp. "Thanks 'mate.." She whispered... Ballentine had at least taught her some manners!

Looking up at Eva, she would point down at the sand and quite simple demand. "Make da sand work. It no work! See..." Quickly the pale was filled once more, the grains spilling a bit over the top. It was another attempt that she knew wasn't going to work, but it was going to make her point. And just as she assumed when she tipped the pale the sand spilled around instead of keeping the pale shape. "Want sand castel." ( yes it's spelled wrong on purpose XD )

Freize
The little guy just smiled, although a bit hesitantly... She still seemed upset, but she thanked him... His tail picked up a sway behind him as he fixed his eyes on the sand that apparantly wasn't working, wrinkling his nose and wracking his toddler-brain in an attempt to think up a solution. He popped two fingers in his mouth, gnawing at them uncertainly... Tick tick tick... Aha!

When he and Freize had come with the other two, they had played in the sandbox and Da had gotten water to get the sand wet! Now he just had to get it across to the girl. He glanced about quickly, and then began the process of pointing at her pale and then a nearby water fountain. They needed water!

Ballentine
A point was her answer. The boy... Pointed. Her eyes followed the direction of the point but what was the answer!? What the hell was she supposed to look at?! Growing a bit irritated by the boy she reached out and roughly tugged him into the sand. Before he knew it he'd be laid on his back and pinned down. Belinda was small, but man did she pack some strength into her.

Sitting on the boys stomach she'd look down at him, "Make da sand work." Ok... That wasn't making the sand work... Nor would the boy be able to with her sitting on him... But how would she know that? She's just a little girl!

Freize
The little guy lay there dazed for a moment, and then seemed to figure out what kind've girl she was... Ohh, okay. So she was kinda the angry sort, and a little rough like Cougar. His ears drooped and he frowned up at her, attempting to worm his way free. He would just have to show her what he meant. In order to get free, he curled his knees up slightly and spread his feet before pushing up with all of his strength. The kid packed a punch in his legs, and bucked rather forcefully upwards in an attempt to rid himself of the girl. It was the first thing that came to mind. Maybe it'd even work.

Ballentine
Belinda felt the boy wiggling under him, though she had more brothers than sisters and was quite used to wrestling... Though sometimes the boys did win. Sometimes. However what Eva did had completely surprised her and her small body flew backwards with such momentum that she couldn't stop herself. Not that she would have the coordination to anyway.

There would be a small thud as her body hit the ground. It wasn't like she flew feet away, only a few inches but even that was proving a problem. The two having been so close to the edge of the sand box to start with resulted in Belinda smacking her head against the wooden box. She lay still for a moment before groaning.

"Ow..." She whimpered as she sat up, a sand covered hand reaching up to rub at the small bump upon her head. Green eyes welled with tears as she turned her head to look Eva. That... That boy... Face scrunching a bit, she took in a deep breath then let out a wail of a scream. Tough it wasn't a scream of pain, it was almost like a battle cry!

Before the boy had time to react the girl was tackling him into the ground, "Dat hurt! Say sowwy!" She screamed, gripping Eva's shirt and shaking him furiously. "Say it!"

Freize
Phew... The boy felt temporary relief as the weight on his belly was gone, but it was gone after a few seconds. He lifted himself to prop up on his elbows, ears perking, eyes growing wide. He hadn't meant to hurt anyone, he had just..! He flinched slightly and sat up hurriedly, biting into his lower lip... Oops...

The feeling of dread grew. Here came impending doom. She was upset. Very very upset. He let out a displeased hiss of breath before finding himself pushed back into the ground, and he was laying there whilst being violently shaken. He just stared up at her with wide eyes, surprisingly not releasing any sort of noise. No whine, no apology, no distressed noises. Just silence. His expression went from shock to a more apologetic on after a moment or so, teeth setting into his lower lip... He was sorry...

He wished he could say it, too. Eva lifted a hand, and after much effort he finally managed to get it to land on her shoulder lightly. He was sorry... Sorry... But he couldn't say it... He just didn't want anyone upset, or anyone hurt... Accident... He didn't mean to... He looked up towards her in a sad sort of way. He really didn't mean it. He was so caught up with that he didn't even seem to notice he was being flopped around like a ragdoll. Oh well.

Ballentine
Belinda found shaking the boy useless... He wasn't even saying he was sorry! He just kept staring at her like she was insane! Though thankfully for Eva she was losing power in those shakes, growing tired from the exertion. Finally she let him go, still sitting atop him while she panted a bit. It was a pointless fight and usually by now her brothers had apologized. Why didn't the boy!?

Reaching a hand up she lightly rubbed at the bump on her head and frowned. "Meanie.." That's what the boy was. He was the meanie!

Freize
The runt's eyes widdened slightly, and then he frowned and his ears pinned back to his head. Eva didn't like this. He drew in a deep breath, and then moved to pat over where the bump was on her head gently, in an apologetic way. He was sorry... He hoped he got his point across- she didn't get them too good, but he decided thats just because he had only learned how to get stuff across to his family and his Da, and that his ways of showing stuff must only be for big-peoples to understand. Karoko hadn't understood him either...

Hopefully Belinda would get it, though.

Ballentine
"Oooow." She whined, brushing the boy's hand way. "No touchin'....!" Poking at Eva's chest rather harshly she crossed her arms over his chest. "You a big meanie..." Still seated on the boy, though now having slipped down into his lap rather than his stomach, Belinda crossed her arms to pout. Seriously... Why did the boy have to touch her ouchie?! It would just make it throb more.

"Why you no say sowwy yet?" She asked bluntly, staring hard at him. Everyone else says their sorry to get her to stop hassling them. Though in a way this boy had waited out the storm...

Freize
Eva sighed lightly, frowning to himself. Sometimes his ideas didn't work so good, but he always seemed to be getting 'em... Until now. He had no idea how to show that he couldn't speak. Normally Freize was around to tell someone, and Karoko had figured it out all by herself... He concentrated for a moment, trying to speak.. Nope. Nothing. He pressed his lips together in a thin line, trying to think something out. He didn't like this at all.. These were the times he wished he could figure out how to move your tongue and stuff and make words and sound come out. Oh well. It was still some foreign thing for now.

It wasn't the roughness he seemed to mind- bah, that was okay. He could hold out through any of that sort of thing- it always came down to the emotional stuff. He hated people being angry or sad or scared because of him.. And he hated being unable to make things better. He tilted his head to one side slightly.

Ballentine
"Huh.." Belinda let out a huff, cheeks puffing slightly before all the air was released. "Fine.. I'll pway the quiet too. But make da sand work." Finally freeing the boy from her weight, even if not all that heavy, she crawled off him and over to her shovel and pale. "It no work. Fix it."

Belinda looked at Eva once more, and then there it was. A heart stopper should anyone in her family hear the word. "Pwease?"

Freize
The little guy seemed relieved that she wasn't too upset anymore, smiling a bit and straightened himself up, a little bit of sand that had collected in his shirt coming loose and sliding down. He watched the girl a moment, and then nodded and then made his way over on his knees. He took ahold of her pale now, pushing himself to a stand before trodding towards the nearest water fountain at a quick pace. He figured that both taking her thing and taking time to fix the sand might upset her, so he had to hurry...

Wow, this thing was big... He placed the pale on his head, lucky that only a little bit of sand was let inside, and then placed both hands on the side of the water fountain, followed by his feet, and then he was shimmying upwards. He kept himself propped up by clasping the sides of the fountain with his feet, which was hard because he didn't take those flippy-floppy things off.. He pulled off the pale and after some banging on the strange water-depositing machine he filled it with water. He let go, falling back to the ground on his rump, pale in his lap. Some water sloshed over onto his clothes and legs, but he didn't seem to notice. He just stood and began his hurried toddle back to the sand box.

Ballentine
Belinda's mouth had opened, wanting to protest about her pale being taken but found the boy running away too fast. How rude! He just up and took her thing. She had started to go after him, getting up and taking a few steps from the sand box, but caught that gaze of the cubby kid and almost instantly jumped back inside. She'd have to wait... Even if that wasn't one of her promising talents.

Crouching low once more, she laid her chin against the wood to watch the boy from the distance. What was he doing? Having never gone to the beach before, or even played in the sand before, she had no idea that water would in fact hold the sand together. She had only seen sandcastles being made on the TV or heard her siblings talking about it once. And she always wanted to make a sandcastle of her very own! At least here in the park sandbox no big bully would come by and step on it right? Or where was that mischief Briciru... Belinda would have to keep an eye out for her mean big brother.

Freize
Eva made his way back with some trouble, water sloshing out over the sides and his walk more a waddle. He had never carried one of these before... They were kind've heavy. Freize had always brought the water. That must mean his Da was real strong if he could carry a full pale so easy.. After much effort he got backto the square of sand and attempted to slip in with the pale near Belinda, trying to dump out the contents of it out onto the sand.

Then what would they need to do..? The little squirt racked his brain for what it was that they always did to make sand castles... Then fill the pale and... Do that tippy thing, and..

Ballentine
Belinda moved away from the spilling water, not wanting to let any of it get onto her. It wasn't like she'd melt if the water touched her, she just didn't want to get wet.

Leaning forward she looked down at the wet sand curiously. Well what did that do? Was the boy just crazy and wanted to make all the sand wet? Curiously those green eyes turned up to look at Eva with a 'what the hell was that for' expression written across her face.

Freize
The boy looked towards her with a look of his own- more of a "trust me" sort of expression, though, a smile coming to him now. He began scooping with his hands and dumping the wet sand into the pale, deciding to leave the shovel be... He had probably already upset her by grabbing her pale already. He had to be good.

The little guy was trying to work quickly, so as to show her why he had made the sand all wet. He wasn't really sure why the sand needed to be wet, but he was sure someone had told him so. Therefore, it was law.

Ballentine
She watched, one eyebrow slightly raised above the other. Ok.. So. What she had to do was get water and pour it on the sand. Then pack it in real good? Water was what she needed all along?! Well wasn't that just peachy and a waste of her time. Well.. The boy still had to tip the pale and prove that water was the miracle in the situation. She slightly hoped it didn't work just to laugh at him. But then again she did want to make that castle. Oh the pros and cons.

Freize
Eva patted in the sand real well, biting lightly into his lower lip.. Now.. The tippy thing. He tipped it all the way over, and then let it sit for a moment before slowly trying to pull it up. The sand stuck together, and kept up. The little guy smiled some. It wasn't as good as something his Da would do, because he was so much younger, shorter, and weaker than the weremutt, thus pulling the pale off neatly was much more of a hard task.

He looked curiously at the girl now for her response, ears coming to a full perk, a hint of a hopeful smile on his lips. Had he done the right thing, or would she not like it?

Ballentine
It... Was... AMAZING! Belinda's face lit up almost like a Christmas tree as she stared at the sand. It stuck together! Laughing out happily she leaned over to start and pick away at the sand. "We gots ta make da winders now! Come on mate.. You do too." It was almost a completely different girl at Eva's side now that she was happy and the sand was working right.

Giggling once more she continued to carefully pick away at the sand and carve out windows and the door to the sandcastle. "We gotsa make sure no one smooches it."

Freize
The joey brightened at her reaction, tail beginning to sway behind him in the sand. He beamed slightly, nodding and going to carefully- well, as carefully as a toddler can- try and help her make the windows. He liked making castles- it'd be fun. Maybe they could go find some stuff to decorate it with afterwards, too.. It'd be the best castle ever.

He gave a tilt to his head, one ear perked and the other lowered as he pondered, wondering why anyone would wanna smush it... Well, he never really experienced that fear, seeing as with Freize around no one ever really destroyed anything of his. Except maybe Cougar, but that was just because he was wild.. Were people like that at the park? He may not have really understood all the way, but he nodded. He would help keep their castle safe.

Ballentine
"La la la!" Belinda sang a bit as she worked, even began to hum as she let her tongue hang out just slightly from her lips. It was some hard work! Having to concentrate to get the windows done nice without the whole side of the castle crumbling.

After a bit she leaned out of the sandbox, grabbing a twig to stick into the top. She had no flag so that was just going to have to do. It was of course a pretty shabby castle and no royal family would ever live in it. But it was paradise in her eyes!

Smiling happily at Eva she let out a little giggle. "All done?"

Freize
The little male swayed back and forth idly, feet slipping out of his sandals before he shifted to sit cross-legged. He squinted a bit everytime he worked at a winder, but a little tiny bit of the castle always crumbled along with what he wanted gone... Oh well, not enough to really notice. He smiled to himself merrily before settling back to look over their work... Not bad! He liked it, really. Well, his imagination also changed it into something much greater than it really was, but nevermind that. It was a grand castle.

He turned to Belinda now, and then nodded cheerily. He couldn't really think of much else to add to it... So, it was done! Ta-dah! He beamed.

Ballentine
So.. It was done. This had been her whole point of the day was to make this castle and now... Now what? She frowned a bit as she looked from Eva down at the castle. She couldn't cram a doll in there, the sand would just crumble. Looking up she cast a glance around the park.

"We go pway sometin' else?" She asked, already start to pack up by first batting the last of the sand out of the pale then added the shovel inside.

Freize
The squirt admired their work for a few moments longer before looking towards the girl once again, blinking once or twice. Play somethin' else? Well, okay. He smiled a bit and was once again nodding, wondering what they might play next... Oh, maybe he could get to try and climb up one of the big trees. That'd be real great.

Eva was all ready to depart the sandbox, but it seemed a lot less eager to depart from him. Clinging to his clothes and hair were bunches of sand, and spilled across his front was a splotch of water. He had definately seen better days, although he didn't seem to care about his appearance, or how he was wet and gritty. He just pushed himself up into a stand and prepared to get going.

Ballentine
Not like Belinda cared much for his situation either. Had they been older perhaps some snide comment would have been made. Quickly standing with the pale in hand Belinda started out of the sand box, stepping carefully over the edge so she wouldn't trip. "I jes gotsa put dis by Mommy!" She announced, smiling at Eva before she ran off towards a silver haired woman sitting under a tree.

A few minutes later and after getting her face wiped off as a bit of sand was stuck to it Belinda would run over to Eva. This was her new friend after all and she was going to have some more fun with him! Grabbing his wrist she started to tug him off towards the swings that were now vacant. "We go here!" It wasn't a question... It was a demand.

Freize
The male watched as she went off, moving to grab the flippy-floppy shoes and put them by the sandbox so he could get them later. He took this moment that he was alone to look around for Freize, spotting him reclined in the grass on a hill. He relaxed a bit, happy to find he hadn't been left behind- he normally didn't worry about that, but for some reason today he had- and then the girl was back and he was being tugged off.

Eva just smiled now, trodding along after her. He didn't seem to mind getting dragged around, and was happy to find they were going towards the swings. He loved the swings. He nodded enthusiastically- this'd be fun!

Ballentine
They got to the swings just in time! A few other kids having started over but stopped when Belinda happily claimed one swing with her butt, already starting to push off with her feet. "I like da swing!" She said to Eva as she looked over at the boy.

Now out of the sandbox that chubby kid had in fact gone over and take in... destroying their castle! But thankfully Belinda's attention had turned from the sand to the boy besides her.

Freize
Tralala. Eva climbed up onto a swing himself, taking a moment to wonder if he could climb up to the top of the swingset... That'd be fun... But just swinging was fun too. He loved the swings. The could bring you up so high, and then you got to jump out. And Da didn't yell at him when he went high and then jumped off the swings, so its all good.

He nodded in agreement with her, grinning. As mentioned, he looved the swings. He kicked off forcefully, going a good distance back. He had some power in those legs.

Ballentine
So the two would swing for awhile, Belinda never really getting as high as Eva but boy did she try! She kicked and pushed, pouting as she watched the boy go higher than her. She wanted to go that high too!

After awhile she began to tired, finally stopping her attempts to get higher and let herself swing back and fourth and slow down. "Nnn.." She let out a small yawn, letting go of the swing chain with one hand to cover her mouth. Today had been quite eventful and was finally starting to show.

Freize
Eva had a pretty good energy reserve- he still had quite a bit left. Maybe it was from being pent up all day before he and Da came to the park. That hadn't been fun. He'd been all cramped up and stuff.. But as he turned his attention from his swinging to the girl, he noticed she was beginning to tire... He slowed at first, but then decided just to end his swing-ride then and on the next swing he jumped on out from it, landing on his feet- stumbling a bit, but landing on his feet. He made his way back to sit in the swing, stretching his legs out.

Today was fun. Lotsa fun.

Ballentine
"Aha!" Belinda laughed as she watched Eva jump from the swing. She wouldn't dare try that! Oh no she'd end up hurting herself for sure. "You a good jumper huh?!" She asked, still slowly swinging back and fourth, though now she had let her feet drag to slower her down even more.

"You all done swinin'?"

Freize
Eva brightened and nodded cheerily- he loved jumping. Climbing, mostly, but jumping was good too. It was all just fun. Sometimes Da said it was bad, but... Bah, Da wasn't right alla the time. He began an idle back-and-forth motion on the swing, letting himself settle down.

He looked over to her curiously, ears perked, and then shrugged a bit. Swinging was fun, but she seemed kinda tired..

Freize
Eva took hold of the hand that had gone for his, slipping out from the swing and glancing about thoughtfully... Where to play... His eyes fixed on where the monkey bars and slide were, his ears coming to a full perk, an excited smile crossing his face. He pointed and then began his walk towards the playplace.

The slide was okay and stuff, but he loved climbing to the top of the monkeybars. It was his favorite, with the exception of the jungle gyms- which were actually meant for climbing. He hadn't seen any of those, so this'd do.

Ballentine
Belinda giggled happily as she followed the boy, humming a bit to herself. "I wike da swide!" She announced, letting go of Eva's hand once there to climb up the small ladder that lead to the top of the slide. "You swide to?"

Freize
The squirt watched her for a second, blinking as she asked him something, a tilt given to his head... And then he nodded and smiled, moving to climb up along behind her. He wanted to slid- he liked climbing best, but sliding was good. He could slide for now. It was all fun. And thats what mattered.

Ballentine
Happily she sat down no the top of the slide, getting into position to slide down. Looking over her shoulder she smiled brightly up at Eva. She'd let herself push forward, squealing out a "WHEE!" As she went on down the slide, arms out stretched as if she were flying. "FUN!" She laughed as her feet touched the bottom, running off towards the ladder to repeat the fun!

Freize
Eva stood at the top of the slide, looking out at the rest of the playground. Wasn't really high, but good enough. He took in a deep breath and then slipped down into a sit, after doing so giving a forceful push, grinning as he went flying down the slide. He did a little spring-hop as he reached the bottom of the slide, landing on his feet and running full speed in order to get back up. This was great!

Ballentine
Belinda was giggling happily by the time Eva got to the ladder. The small girl was already on her way up the steps, careful not to fall. It was almost like a race, though she couldn't lose as there was no way for Eva to get around her.

Plopping down once more on her bottom she let out another squeal as she once again slid down the plastic slide. Though this time as she hit the bottom there was not happy giggle but a small wince as she fell. Sniffing a bit she crawled a few inches away from the slide to flop onto her butt and look at the scrapes on her knees.

Freize
Evarobby liked climbing up the ladder, too- climbing was great fun. He was good at it, too, most probably because his tail helped balance him out a great deal. He stopped at the top, watching the girl as she went down and then froze... Something wasn't right. He made his way down the slide quickly, hopping once again to his feet before moving to crouch beside his new friend with a frown and a tilt to his head... Uh-oh... He bit into his lower lip and let his fingers come to rest lightly on his chin, ears folding back.

This was bad. (*kicks his computer* x____o)

Ballentine
Belinda had started to cry, tears running down her nose pink cheeks. The sand was in the small scrapes and was starting to hurt. "Ow...." She whined, starting to rub at her boo-boos. "Mommy!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, tears now streaming down her cheeks.

Ballentine was used to all her children screaming for her, one always getting an ouchie at some point. Putting her book down she stood and quickly scanned for where the injured girl was then went to rescue.

Group RP from the main HQ
Sept 11th

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

Dulcea
Teagan jogged down the sidewalk, jumping into a cartwheel as he got closer to the building. Usually, he was upset when he came to the project house, but today, he was floating. Coach had really given him a chance, all he had to do was.. Well, he'd figure that out later, but in the meantime, he would just be happy with the spot, and his new favorite possession, a black warm up jacket with a gymnastics symbol on it, Coach said he could earn little medals to put on it if he ever qualified to compete.

Noyama
Inside the HQ, Karoko sighed heavily staring at the floor...down at the floor.

Ever since Noharu had left, things hadn't been going so well within her household. Lockee was a bad parent, hence why Karoko refered to her as 'the bad one'. She didn't care much about anything but herself, the Eden had noticed.

It didn't surprise her, even at such a young age, when she was given a ripped-up pair of purple pants and an old, white t-shirt to wear for the day. Afterwards, she was promptly shoved out the door, brought here, and left.

Bad Lockee.

All things considered, the bat girl was contently hanging up-side-down from the couch handle. It was so quiet in here, though...

Dulcea
(( The jacket: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/Dulciespets/jacket1.png ))

Teagan slipped around the back of the building, intent on not making quite so much of an enterance as he had in the past. One, he didn't think anyone would still give him slack for "not knowing any better" anymore, and two, Momma had something she could take away now, and there wasn't anything he would do that would be worth losing his team privileges. With a tiny bit of insight, he remebered to open the back window instead of just crashing through it, setting down on the kitchen floor with a little tap. "Hello? Anybody here?" He called, halfhoping no one was. Sure, he would have loved to tell someone all about his new hobby, but he also would have liked just practicing his floor work alone. Alone, that was a new thing for him.

Noyama
For a moment, Karoko pondered over saying nothing. Before she was just quiet, now she just plain didn't feel like talking. Maybe it would be nice to see one of her friends, though. Teagan was one of the few she considered a friend. Most everyone else was just scary.

"I'm herrre," she offered finally, her voice less meek an nervous than it had been during their first meeting. If only to please Noharu, who she wished was present, she'd finally begun speaking in full sentences and answering questions instead of just nodding or shaking her head.

Chalda
Chalda had spied the boy she was looking for just as he went around the corner. She recognize him from his brief appearance at the beach. She tried to call out to him but clearly he didn't hear her as he disappeared from view. Bending over she lifted the cardboard box off the ground. The contents shifted and temporarily set her off balance. Struggling she stood up straight as the little puff came wizzing out from behind her hair. "I'm sorry Mai, I didn't mean to wake you." She nuzzled the puff with her face since her hands were full. "Hurry we need to get this to that boy before goes inside. She stuggled around the coner under the weight of her package just to see his tail disappear in the window. "Shoot" she muttered under her breath. "Teagan!" She called out hopeing he would hear.

Dulcea
Teagan's ears perked up as he searched for the source of the sound. Strange, it had sounded like someone saying his name? Ah well, he'd figure that out later, for now, he had to find the one that had answered him. Karoko, he thought it was, but she didn't talk much, did she? Well, maybe she'd calmed down a bit, it would have been hard to stay that highstrung for long. "Kar-kar?" He offered, asking more where she was than if it were her. Flicking his tail curiously, he started to search the main room, completely oblivious to her fairly easy to spot loaction (He was looking for her in her dress), even looking under the beat up beanbag Ul had dragged in there what seemed like so long ago. Maybe she was on the ceiling? She was a bat after all, and bats like hanging from things. Course, he liked hanging from things too, and he would have noticed a place up there before. Well, other than the light, but he didn't think she would be too inclined to perch on something that moved so much.

Noyama
Blue eyes widened in alarm when the other voice rang out. It was that lady from the beach, wasn't it? She was scary. Sure, Karoko was more sad than anything due to the lack of Noharu around recently, but that didn't stop her from being a coward.

Flipping over, barely managing to land on her feet, she lifted up the flap of the couch and hurried under it, remaining silent. Maybe Teagan would just think she left or something. It wasn't that she didn't want to see him, but what if more people came?

Chalda
Chalda got to the window just in time to see his tail disappear into the next room. She looked at the window that had been left open. No one had invited her in so it wasn't really right to just climb into someone else house but she needed to deliver this package pretty soon. It was getting heavy! A bit shy on intrudding on their privacy she called out quietly "Hello? Teagan?" before she got a response the box shifted again and she had to bend down to steady herself.

Dulcea
Hmm.. Strange, she wasn't there. Oh well, if she wanted to be found he would have found her by now, sometimes Kaori was like that at home, trying to get people's attention then just poofing off to nowhere when she changed her mind. His ears twitched, there was that other noise again. Wait, that was his name! Maybe momma was after him! Quickly, he scampered back to where he had come in, looking a bit startled when he came face to face with no one instead of his mother. "Hi there?" He asked, climbing up to look out the window. Oh! There was a person down there! Alright, so maybe he should invite her in. With that little manners spark, he scuttled out the window and motioned for her to follow him around to the front door, it would be easier than trying to wedge the box through with her.

Chalda
Chalda looked up as she steadied herself "Teagan!" she exclaimed, proud that she had finally located her target person. "I have something for you and Dulcea." as she spoke he motioned her to go around the house. Hoisting the box she made it too the door where he waited. She held out the box. "For you!" She said triamphantly. At that moment something black lept from the box and streaked into the house. Chalda squeeked and dropped the box in suprise.

Dulcea
He blinked, dropping onto all fours when the box hit the ground. This thing was fun already! Looking up with a wide smile he spoke, "For me? Thank'oo ma'am! Now I gotta catch it! You can sit down somewhurs if you wanna." With that, and a little flick of his tail, he got back up and tore after it, though the way he was leaning down he might as well have stayed crawling. Ok, so it wasn't the best of manners to leave her there by herself while he was after this thing, but he could get in trouble if it broke something, usually when things got broked it was his fault.

Chalda
Chalda was totally suprised by Teagan's reaction. "You're welcome!" she managed to mumble out before he had left the room. "Don't hurt it!" She called after him. "It's a pet! Not food!" She cautiously came in and closed the door behind her. Looking around she picked a small chair and sat down just on the edge of it. He had invited her in but she still felt a bit akward alone in a house she had never been in before.

Dulcea
After a few minutes, and a few loud crashes, Teagan returned to the main room, holding it up in front of it. Truthfully, the critter didn't seem too happy about getting caught, but instead of retaliating just donned a disinterested expression and skittered under one of the tables to sleep when he put it down. He settled on one of the other chairs beside her, wiping the bit of blood off his cheek from where it had scratched him. "Don't have to worry bout me eating it, I'm a vegetablearian. My name's Teagan Elliott Russo, but I guess you already knew that. What's your name?"

Chalda
Chalda stood as he bought the special cat back into the room. "Well I'm glad you wouldn't eat it. My name is Chalda." She poked the lump that had settled behind her head and it flew out. "And this is Mai. She's a Wethkin. I'm sorry the kitty hurt you. And I hope your mommy likes it. Do you want to give it a name?"

Dulcea
He tapped his cheek, "It's fine. And it's nice to meet you Miss Chalda, and Mai." With a wary glance to the cat, he thought of one of Ul's cousins, with a similar funny attitude, "Skye. I like the name Skye." He kicked his feet back and forth, pretending they still didn't touch the ground when he sat. Which, they did, but in the long run tricks would be more fun if people thought he was smallish. "Want something to eat?" Ok, he couldn't cook that well, but there were a few things, and he was hungry all ready.

Chalda
"Sure!" Chalda hopped up. "I can cook lots of good stuff if you have all the 'gedients." Plus she had had to get up pretty early to get the kitty here and had skipped breakfast because of it.

Dulcea
Tea hopped off the chair, remembering he hadn't said anything about what to call him, "You can call me Tea if you want." With that, he scampered off toward the kitchen, set on finding some kind of fruit, maybe Momma had left some sugar cane there last time she'd come?

Chalda
"Ok Tea" she said as he left the room. She kneeled down and petted Skye before following him. "You can call me..." She started but wasn't sure how to finish. "Well I guess most people just call me Chalda. That's kind of boring isn't it?"

Dulcea
With a little effort, Tea pulled a chair up against the counter, climbing up onto the top of it to reach the top cupboards. He teetered a bit, set off balance by having to lean forward to see into them, "Well Chalda, we gots some apples and cinnamon. Do you like apples? Hello?" He asked, looking curiously for the woman that seemed to have disappeared. Oh well, more for him.

Chalda
Chalda walked into the room to see Tea muching on an apple. "Sorry! I went to the bathroom and the lock got stuck! That apple looks yummy. Do you have anymore? Maybe I could make an apple pie!" She nearly drooled at the thought. "But it won't be ready until dinner time."

Dulcea
Tea shook his head, "There's a bunch over there." He pointed to the table, "I'm not s'pposed to have pie afore dinner so.. How about spiced apples? They're not that hard to make, and if you use the right stuff they can be kinda healthy, Cinnamon taught me that." He waved his current one in the air, "Or fresh with some sugar is good. There might even be some mango somewhere around here. Ever had mango chuttey? (Chutney)"

Chalda
"Ooo apples and mangos huh?" Chalda began to root through the fridge and reappeared with grapes, oranges, kiwis and a mellon. "Fruit salad anyone?" She said with a big grin on her face. "Add some bananas to this and I would have myself a fruit hat!"

Ballentine
Ballentine decided that it was in fact finally time to get Belinda out and meeting other Edens. The girl had to know more than her siblings and Eva. So today on this fine afternoon Ballentine carried the young girl to the HQ. Now... Ballie couldn't leave the girl just anywhere. That was irresponsible. Quickly her grey eyes scanned the HQ for signs of life and someone to watch Belinda for awhile as she's meet more people and be more open without her mother floating around.

Finding a young boy nibbling on an apple and what seemed a responsible female she carried the girl over there. Ballentine smiled brightly as she approached the two, "Hello!" Ok, casual approach. "Would you two mind watching Belinda for a few minutes while I use the restroom?" Placing the small child down she smiled, ok now to make the run for it.

Belinda just cast curious green eyes up at Ballentine, blinking once or twice cutely. She then turned her attention over to Tea and Chalda, lifting her hand to wave just a bit.

Chalda
"Hi!" Chalda replied brightly. "Sure we can watch her." She responded to the adult. Then she turned to Belinda. "My name is Chalda and this is Tea. I'm making some fruit salad. Would you like to help?" She extended a bundle or grapes and a bowl to the girl sitting on the floor and watch the adult back out of the room.

Dulcea
Tea slipped down onto the floor near Belinda, giving her a little curious sniff. Hmm, this one had ears and a tail too, just not the same kind. "Hi there!" Quickly, he remembered his introduction, "My name's Teagan Elliott Russo," Thinking of his newest hobby, Coach said it 'defined' him, "Ima' gymnast. Who're you?" He was a bit wary of this one, she seemed nice, but then again, he was wary of anything unfamiliar. Turning his attention back to the older woman, he suggested a new addition to their recipe, "What about grasshoppers?"

Ballentine
Belinda accepted the bowl and grapes, looking down at it curiously. What was she supposed to do with this? Curiously she plucked off one grape and sniffed at it, only to squeak and drop it as she herself was sniffed at. "Stop." She muttered, raising her hand and batting at Tea's shoulder. Who did this boy think he was just sniffing at her. She wasn't stinky.

Attention going back to the grapes she put the boy on ignore. The bunch of grapes was removed from the bowl and placed besides her between Tea and herself. Next the bowl was placed atop her head and she smiled proudly with a little giggle. Wasn't she cuuuute.

"We pway?" She asked looking up at Chalda though the bowl obscured most of her view.

Chalda
Chalda giggled as she watched the girl. "So you aren't hungry huh? What do you think Tea? You've been here often. What sort of fun stuff is there to do?" She scooped the grapes off the floor and popped a few in her mouth before putting the fruit back in the fridge.

Dulcea
Tea gave a momentary chorttle, an odd noise he'd picked up from Brooke. He brushed his shoulder off, looking curiously at her. "Wha was that for?" Sure, he was a bit smarter than he had been as a toddler, but he still wasn't the brightest bulb in the box. Tugging his collar up, he sat up straight, trying to make himself seem bigger as he scooted a little bit away. With a little attention snap, he looked up at Chalda, "Well, there's some games somewhere in the cupboards I think, board games and stuff." Lately he seemed to exhibit a few more instinctual traits than he probably should, one of the most prominent, primate displaying.

Ballentine
Little fingers drummed atop the bowl on her head as she pretty much ignored the conversation. It was too complicated for her to understand really! Her little toes also wiggled a bit as she did her best to amuse herself... However this wasn't going to last long. She wanted to play!

Finally taking the bowl off she placed it down between her legs to swat at it with her hands. A frown soon formed on her lips. It didn't make that cool sound like the pots and pants at home! She smacked at the bowl a few more times, then with a little snort used one foot to kick it away. Stupid bowl! "It bloke! No workin' like 'pose to!"

Chalda
Chalda kneeled down and held the little girls hand. "I saw a park on the way here. Why don't we go play on the swings?" She knew that little ones needed to be entertained or the destructive tendencies set in quickly.

Dulcea
Teagan puffed his cheeks out, scrambling out that same back window toward his favorite spot in the trees. Ok, he was being a bit touchy, but this little one had touched his jacket, hadn't asked or anything, and now she was ignoring him, like Madeline had. He dug around in one of the holes, fetching out a bag of cut up sugar cane. With a smug little smile, he darted back inside, settled in the corner, and started chewing on one, now ignoring her. See how she likes it.

Ballentine
Belinda didn't seem to mind at all actually! The girls attention focused on the woman who mentioned her favorite place! The park! "Swing!" She chirped happily, drawing herself up to her feet and reaching her arms up to Chalda. "Pwark! We Pway." She nodded excitedly.

"Boy n' me make sandcaster da odder day." Belinda said as she thought back to the time she spent with Eva at the park. The two having met up there.

Mouse Pachinkorelli
It wasn't easy to walk all the way up to the Eden Project house.

And Sylvest's kraaken-grip on Mouse's left arm didn't make it any easier. He had one hand grasping her fingers, and three of his less human arms wrapped around her wrist. Needless to say, the surrogate mother had lost all feeling in that limb several minutes ago- but hey, anything to make the octopus lad feel better about his surroundings.

The lemur-kid with the irate demeanor lurching over a bag of sugar cane didn't help much, though.

"Hey... Teagan! Are you alright?" Mouse called, hoping to calm him down so Sylvest would stop shaking like the leaf he once was.

Chalda
Chalda looked at the girls upstreatched arms and tried to decide if she would be able to pick up the girl. She was still young after all. Maybe the age of Tea but had matured quickly in her childhood due to her negligent parents. "Ok park it is!" She grasped the little girls hand instead and walked towards the door. "Are you coming Tea? Or you going to stay here with Skye. I want to be here when you introduce him to Dulcea ok?"

Dulcea
Teagan shook his head, to both of them, "Momma's in the city today, with Naomi and Cinnamon. They were fightin bout somethin. I'munna stay here." He turned his attention to the more familiar one, Momma had called her Mouse before, and held out a piece of sugar cane to her and the silly looking boy, "Hi Miss Mouse. I'm ok. Want some?" By now Skye had come out from under the table, now walking around beside Tea cautiously, sniffing at the bag of food every so often.

Ballentine
The little girl didn't seem to mind at all that her hands had been taken instead of her body being picked up. Either way they were going to the park! "Wet's go pway!" She once again cheered, only now taking note of the others in the room.

The boy with the long tail was eating something. She wondered what it was slightly and sniffed at the air as if that would give her the answer. Not only that, but another boy was there and he had funny looking tails. She cocked her head to the side, pointing at the trio and looking up at Chalda. "Who?"

Mouse Pachinkorelli
Sylvest looked at the piece of sugar cane suspiciously as if it might have poison hidden in it, then looked up at Mouse.

"Go ahead and try some," Mouse said. She wasn't sure if he would like it or not, though...

The octopus lad took a piece and placed it in his mouth.

He chewed once, then twice.

...

"Mmmmm....!!" This tasted icky! He had to get rid of it now! And as involuntary reactions went, glands in the back of his mouth opened up and started leaking ink to filter out the taste. Sylvest then spit out the piece of sugar cane; it was covered in indigo-black goo.

Mouse hadn't seen a reaction like that before now, so it must have tasted pretty bad. Note to self: Don't give Sylvest sweet foods.

Chalda
Chalda greeted Mouse and Sylvest when they came in. She had brought a toy to Sylvest when she had visited the beach. She was just about to ask him if he enjoyed it when the piece of sugar cane he had just popped into his mouth seemed to have a bad reaction. He started drooling ink all over the floor and the piece of cane hit the floor with it. Slowly she kneeled beside Belinda and said softly in her ear "That is Mouse and Sylvest. But it looks like Sylvest is sick right now. Why don't we go into the living room so we can be out of the way?" She stood and shooed the girl towards the door. On her way out she took a moment to rub Sylvest shoulder in comfort.

Dulcea
Tea looked from the inky piece to the younger boy curiously, scratching his head while he thought of something to do. Well, it would be bad to waste it, this kind of sugar cane was kind of hard to find. So, instead of putting it in the trash when he picked it up, he wiped it on the leg of his pants, then, deciding it was still too inky to eat, he walked over and turned the water on to rinse it off, "Guess not many people like it, bitter and sweet at the same time. He gonna be ok?"

Ballentine
As they started to walk past the inky boy, Belinda ripped her hand from the other girl's grasp. She went right up to the boy, staring up at his face. Why did he leak that dark colored stuff? Reaching up boldly she pressed her fingers into some of the ink then pulled her hand back to sniff at it. What was it?

Mouse Pachinkorelli
Sylvest was about to ask his mama for a glass of water when something touched his cheek. It was a girl about his size, wiping off some of the ink and looking at it.

His face- and arms- turned bright red.

"I think Sylvest is okay with bitter foods, but the sweet seemed to have gotten to him- are you alright, Sylvest?" Mouse asked.

Chalda
Chalda smiled at Sylvests reaction. Most kids wouldn't take so kindly to being poked. Allowing Belinda to explore Chalda's eyes swept over the room. A clock caught her attention and it was WHAT time?? In a slight panic she moved towards Mouse. "The gaurdian of this little one left her in my care but I need to go. Can you look after her?" Without waiting for a response she nearly bolted out of the room and out the front door and was gone just like that.

Dulcea
Tea munched on the newly cleaned sugar cane, watching the tot change color with a cocked head. Weird, he'd never seen a kid that could do that. Thinking suddenly of something they could do, he piped up, "I'll be back soon, gonna go get somethin." With that he climbed out the window, dragging the bag behind him.

Ballentine
Belinda barely noticed that not only Chalda but now Tea had left, each going in opposite directions. But either way they were both gone now, which left her with the leaking boy and... She turned those green eyes u p to Mouse, blinking a bit. "He broked?" She asked as she pointed her ink stained fingers at Sylvest.

Mouse Pachinkorelli
So now Mouse was stuck babysitting this toddler for who-knows-how-long.

"I... don't think he's broken. Just not used to complete strangers touching him..." she replied. But he seemed to be getting over it quickly, returning to his natural colors. He was even bold enough to touch the girl's cheek as if returning a greeting.

"I-I Sy'vest. Whu'reyou?" he asked.

Ballentine
Belinda turned her attention to the touch to her cheek. "Sy'ves?" She asked, trying to get the name out right. "Me Bewinda.. Wets go pway!" Reaching up she would take Sylvest's hand in hers and give the boy a little tug. "Come pway! Big girl say park by here." She kept lightly tugging on the boy's hand while she spoke trying to encourage to follow.

Mouse Pachinkorelli
Mouse pondered this for a moment. Would going to the park be okay? "I don't know if that's a good idea... your mother might get worried if she finds out that you aren't here. I know I would... how about we play out here?" She took out some paper and markers that she carried around just in case Sylvest got tired and needed to do something more relaxed. "We can draw!"

Sylvest beamed. "Drawi'! Bwin wan' draw?" He took a couple of markers and offered one to the other Eden.

Ballentine
Belinda face scrunched into a pout. She wanted to go play at the park, drawing wasn't any fun! Narrowing her eyes at Mouse she plopped down onto her little bottom and crossed her arms over her chest in hopes that if she pouted long enough they'd all go to the park. Those narrowed eyes didn't leave Mouse either, not even as she snatched the marker from Syl's hand with a muttered ,"Thank you." At least she hand some manners.

She waited a long moment. Ok a little longer... Damn it the pouting wasn't working. Frustrated now she snatch a piece of paper and started to scribble on it.

Mouse Pachinkorelli
That long pout... was the pout of death. It made Mouse feel uncomfortable, and it sure scared Sylvest a bit. But Mouse felt that security was more important than fun at this point. She was relieved that the girl had decided to take a marker and scribble at the paper (if a bit violently).

Sylvest wondered what was wrong with Belinda. Drawing was fun! He took an orange marke, and, his octopus arms turning as orange as the ink, scribbled ambiguous shapes on the paper.

Ballentine
Belinda had caught the color change out of the corner of her eye and gasped. "Ooooh!" With the marker she pointed at Sylvest's now orange arm. "HOW?!" She was completely taken not only by surprise but amazement. She wanted to turn colors too! She could only make her face really red if she pouted long enough.

Mouse Pachinkorelli
The octopus lad jumped a little upon his new friend's exclamation of surprise. And, he was also confused... "How what?" he asked, not aware that his arms had changed color again. Sylvest seemed to have no control over that ability yet, and usually changed with colors he liked and with his mood.

Ballentine
"New culor!" Belinda exclaimed as she pointed her marker at the orange tentacle. "No like da odders." She said as she looked at each and everyone one, poking at the orange one. "You twrn gween!" She demanded a bit. If the boy could turn orange why couldn't he turn green?

Mouse Pachinkorelli
"Turn... cow'r?" Sylvest pondered. He looked at the arm that Belinda was looking at and noted that it was indeed very orange. "You wan'... gween?" Well, how hard could it be? He usually just thought about a color he liked and it just happened? So he thought about the color green and was rewarded with a kind of mottled moss color speckling the orange.

Mouse took a mental note on this. It might be helpful in some way.

Ballentine
Belinda laughed pleasantly. He turned green. Ok more like polka dotted but close enough. "Bwue! Do Bwue now!" She demanded, poking at the tentacle curiously. She wanted one of these to play with at home!

Mouse Pachinkorelli
"Boo?" That was something Sylvest could do- blue was one of his favorite colors! With a bit of a showoffy flourish, all of his arms became an inky, midnight blue. He grinned and twirled them around a bit.

Mouse tapped her foot in slight impatience. Where was this kid's mother? Was she taking a very long trip to the bathroom, or something?

Dulcea
(( Be warned, Naomi has NO good personality traits, she was a failed experiment, one of the originals for Spice Shack ))
Naomi

Instead of crawling in the window this time, Tea walked through the door, being dragged along by his tail by a tall woman with an obvious scowl. He was clutching some kind of book, wriggling against her grasp, "Lemme go! NAE NAE. LEMME GO!"

"SHUT. UP. Just shut the hell up!" Naomi yelled, giving his tail a hard yank. "You stomp into the store, thunder up the damn stairs, and wake me up. You'd better have something worth my time!" Upon noticing the other 'stink monkeys' (She really doesn't like kids) she shoved him forward and grunted, "Show em if you're going to."

Ballentine
Belinda laughed happily as she watched the tentacles change colors. Oh yes she really does like this boy and his colorful changing body! "Wed next!" She demanded. Red was her favorite color and she wanted to see the boy turn the pretty shade again.

Though that attention to the coloring changing boy would drop almost instantly as she heard other come inside, craning her head to focus on Tea and the new woman. Who was she? Why was she yelling and pushing around the other boy. She snorted a bit, crouching down low as if the floor would camouflage her... Tough it wasn't working.

Feeling the need to make Ballie less irresponsible the woman would appear in the doorway, just watching from a distance. Really she had her reasons why she wasn't smothering Belinda with attention. The girl had a strong personality and didn't need the mother for introductions or to play. Ballentine did look at Mouse and smile softly, giving a little nod to Belinda in a way of saying 'that one's mine.'

Mouse Pachinkorelli
Teagan and the scary lady crashing into the room so suddenly made the color drain from Sylvest's arms. That was really scary... and he was so tired... and thirsty... sleep seemed like a good idea...

Mouse caught the octopus lad before his head could bump against the floor. Hoisting him up so it wouldn't be too uncomfortable to carry him, she said, "I'm sorry, Belinda... Sylvest gets tired easily when he's out of water for too long. We'll have to go home, but it was very nice meeting you. Good to see you again, Teagan... goodbye, everyone!" She walked out the door and towards her home, tentacled child in tow.

Freize
Well, he had initially meant to send Eva over on his own, but... Here Freize was, carrying him on in, shooting a wary glance about the new area. The joey-boy was up on his shoulders, hands fisted in his hair- as usual. The weremutt looked towards the angry woman in an uncertain manner, shifting a bit and letting his brows come to an arch.. Hm... He wasn't given much time to think, though. Eva spotted two Edens he knew.

The squirt was now standing on the older male's shoulders, before he went to jump off, landing in a crouch. He glanced about at all of them, tail swaying merrily behind him, one small hand lifted in a wave. He didn't need Freize anymore. He had moved on to other people. His Da let out a soft sigh, "Watch yourself, Eva. Behave, okay?" Evarobby nodded, although he wasn't really listening. His attention was elsewhere now. He watched some boy getting carried off, ears perking slightly- was that boy okay..? And in the back of his mind he registered that not only was Tea here, but some lady who had him by the tail. Hm..

Dulcea
Tea noticed Eva instantly, breaking himself away from Naomi in a sharp sprint. "Eva!" He screeched, holding up the city tour book with obvious enthusiasm, "Lookie! PARTY SHINIES!" Ul had given him the choice to throw a party if he wanted. It was going to be for her birthday sure, but it was more for letting him meet the rest of the Edens.

Naomi rubbed her temple with a hand, "Do you ever ******** shut up?" Alright, it had been a bad idea to come along without something a hell of a lot stronger than raspberry vodka. She turned her attention to the other boy's gaurdian, "What's your story?"

Belinda frowned as Sylvest was pulled away. She wasn't done playing with him yet! But before she had any time to respond she'd find the boy being carried away by Mouse. Frowning she could do nothing but stand there and frown, watching them go. That was so uncool! Pouting a bit she cast her glance away and would notice Eva being carried in. She grinned, "Heh-hn.."

Almost instantly she was hidden behind the couch, ducking under and wiggling her little body to the front to peer out the flap. Nothing but the tip of her tail could be seen from the back end of the couch. She was stalking, almost as if her instincts were telling her to do such things.

She waited... Wanting the right opportunity. Green eyes focused on Tea as he went over to Eva and frowned. When would she get the chance now?! Well.. Tea was a distraction of sorts. Backing out from under the couch she dusted off the front of her shirt.

Quickly in the blink of an eye her little body stood, slid around the couch and made an all out run at Eva. "Nya!" She screamed, tackling the boy to the ground and laughing happily. "Pway again!"

Freize
Eva brightened as Tea came towards him, bouncing a bit where he stood, attention turning towards the book. He looked towards it curiously, giving a tilt to his head and moving closer towards the older boy in order to get a better look. Wow, party shinies! He lifted his head to beam up at his older friend, his expression soon warping to a look of shock. He was suddenly on his back, ears perked, eyes wide. He looked up towards the girl who happened to get him down, and then smiled a bit, relieved. He knew her! And she wanted to play! The little guy seemed to forget that he had just been jumped and pushed to the ground, excited to see his past playmates. This could be fun!

Freize rubbed at one temple lightly, letting his eyes drift to a close. "He couldn't come on his own." Not that it was surprising- Eva never went anywhere unless Freize was there. He had some strange dependant thing.. And if they went together, the weremutt HAD to carry him. HAD to.

Then that's it. D:

"Lights Out."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

"I'm home."

Mommy! Belinda instantly thought as she heard her mother's voice call from somewhere outside the kitchen. Bouncing quite happily as she saw the woman walk into the kitchen.

Ballentine couldn't help but giggle as she looked at the faces around the table. Belinda and Bricriu had sauce all around there mouths, Edward and Hugo having it on their hands. "Messy eaters I have! Little piggies." She teased, passing Ed and Hugo giving them a ruffle of their hair.

"Well kiddos, I got my experiment from the lab today. Please don't touch it, specially with you're messy fingers." She laughed lightly. "Plus stay away for another reason." She said getting my voice stern. "The bottle is dangerous," she said, wanting to get some fear into them so they'd stay away. "The bottle could suck your soul away and I'd never get to see you're cute little faces anymore!" Kissing the top of Belinda's head as she passed her, she rounded the table corner to stand at the head.

"I'll let you all see the vial, but don't you touch it or the bottle." Ballie warned once more, turning to reach into her side bag and produce said vial. As she held it out she couldn't help but smile as the table was filled with Ooh's. Yes, this was something to Ooh over.

"Jason.. Will you hit the lights please?" Ballentine asked with a casual smile cast at him. Once the lights went out, the vial itself began to give off a glow, twinkling much like a star! Faintly the colors inside shifted like a fiber optic display, fading from one to the next. Again the children were all in awe, as was Ballentine.

"Now.. I will leave it where we all can see. But no one but I am allowed to touch it." It was better to have the entire family involved. Though where was she going to find the soul she desired? Perhaps one of the others down at the lab could help and give her some advice. It was worth a shot asking, right?

"Ghost Walk."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

Sometimes it's hard to get the family to do something together. Usually someone doesn't want to go! A major kink in the "family time" plan. But I never force them to go. They wouldn't enjoy it if I did. I always mention they'll miss out on a good time. For this round I suggested a ghost walk, and wouldn't you know it all of my kids seemed thrilled to go! But when the day came ... Now that was another story.

Jay had unfortunately caught the cold Waya was just getting over, the teen refusing to leave the comforts of the sofa. Edward had been frightened with ghost stories thanks to Bricriu, and if Edward didn't go then neither did Hugo. The two like pea's in a pod. Since this was the middle of October, the weather was starting to get colder. Thanks to that Tasanee decided it was too damn cold to walk around a town hearing ghost stories, bailing on us as well. Thankfully, since he was staying home anyway, Jason volunteered to baby sit. Even if the price was set for $10 an hour!

This left me with Belinda, Bricriu, Waya and Sayid. Not too bad! With just those four it would be simple to keep an eye on them. I made them all put on warm clothing, Sayid and Waya looking the most uncomfortable but Belinda seemed to love her hand and mittens!

The ride to our destination was an hour long, lucky for Jay! The town was absolutely amazing. It was like we walked back into time where it was OK to leave decorations outside and not get them stolen. Each store down the main street had a scare crow out front. Most likely for some sort of contest for the community.

After I parked I refused to let my kids out of the car. Why? Well I grabbed a few glow sticks from my glove compartment and cracked them into life. They were all the same color so no child could complain they didn't get the color they wanted. Smart thinking on my part there! Once each of them were all set, we moved as a group to the meeting place. I of course had to go sign us in and pay for the tour, and had the pleasuring of finding out it would be another 20 minutes before we left! Oh great, how to occupy my kids. I glanced across the street and smirked. "Bingo..."

I took them for hot chocolate! And of course a potty call. By the time we finished in there, our tour guide was calling everyone to circle around him. He began with a very long winded speech about it wasn't his fault if you were hurt on this adventure. Of course he didn't want to be liable for anything that goes wrong.

As a group we were ushered off, I couldn't help but think we all looked like a herd of cattle as we crossed across the street stopping traffic. But our first stop of the evening wasn't all that far. It was a real estate agency. We all were told to get a good look at the front of the beginning as our tour guide went on to explain.

Take a look at this building, what do you see? It's very symmetrical isn't it? That's because it dates back to when Greek architecture was a major influence to our nation. On the first floor you see the door in the center of the building, a matching window on either side of the door. If you look up, you see a large door like window - at one time that was a door, and once again a matching window like the first floor on either side.

Now you might wonder, why.. Why was there a door on the second story? There's no steps. That's because this building was in fact a casket factory! What a perfect start for a building right? Over the years it's been many things, most recently you see is the real estate agency. But because the purpose of the building changed doesn't mean the stories have stopped. Just recently, over this summer, a woman at the agency told me of an experience she had!

She was working late one evening, alone in the building. She said to herself, "I have to use the ladies room. I wonder if I should lock up." Deciding that she was in fact alone, and saw no reason to lock up her office she left it wide open. It wasn't until she was leaving the ladies room that she heard someone at her desk, groping and grabbing at the papers on her desk.

She ran down the hall, turning and skidding to a stop at her door only to stop stunned, shocked and surprised! No one was in the room! However a foul odor had filled it. Needless to say she high tailed it out of there and doesn't work alone anymore!"

There was a few laughs among the crowd, even a few questions asked about the building before moving on. Our second stop was an old church, the first of three we'd stop at tonight. We learned about it's secret passage ways between the neighboring houses and how one man found the bones of a child in there. He also pointed out the architecture being Greek, as were all the buildings we were going to see.

As we went on we learned about other churches, gallows, burial grounds and cemeteries. One cemetery being the most interesting as a lot of escaped slaves were buried there under John Do titles. This was to keep bounty hunters from knowing who was buried there. Of course they would get more money for bringing home a live slave, but they still got something if they could prove the slave dead. We also heard tales of Indians, the Devils Hole one such story about a whirl pool in the river and the massacre that happened there. We even stopped at a few mansions to learn about the mysteries and ghost stories behind them. All in all it was quite the adventure!

At our last stop, warm apple cider was given to us. Bricriu was in line ahead of me, snagging two cups for himself before the man could stop him. I grabbed one for myself and turned when I heard a sound of distress. Sayid was behind me and he had his arms full of chest nuts. Both me and the man serving us laughed at the site. I grabbed a cup for him as well and as I held it up to my boy's lips the man asked me to wait but a moment as he ran inside. He returned with a bag and helped my son empty his arms, Sayid giving a grateful smirk before taking his cup of cider and running off to join Bricriu.

Waya grabbed my attention with a clear of his throat and I smiled. "Waya... How cute." I teased. On his shoulders was Belinda who was in fact out cold. I plucked the girl from him, allowing him to shift out the knots in his shoulders and receive his cider. After it was a short trip back to the car!

When we all piled in I turned around to smile at my children. "I hope you all had fun. Bricriu I'm proud of you. You behaved and only scared that woman three times. Though she did deserve it." I said as I reached over to ruffle his hair.

Bricriu giggled. "Yeah, she screamedid so loud too! Like a scaredy cat."

I nodded then turned my attention to my other son in the back. "You too Sayid, you behaved good. even If you're as strange as ever collecting those chestnuts. I don't know when you picked those up, but you know what is awesome? You roast those over a fire and eat them! We'll do that tomorrow ok? Not all of them." I couldn't help but laugh at his face of protest.

Belinda was still fast asleep in her car seat, and I turned to smile at Waya. "Thank you for carrying Belinda. Yu all can sleep on the way home." I said as I turned around to start the car. It wouldn't be long before they all were asleep with exhaustion. When I got home I had to carry them all in one by one! But I was just glad to enjoy a night out with them.

"Pumpkin Carving."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

"It's Hammerien!" Belinda screamed as she ran around the kitchen table, giggling cutely. She was in a lady bug outfit, her wings flapping a bit as she moved and her antenna bobbing.

Bricriu snorted as he looked at his sister, the boy dressed as .. Well.. Himself. "It's Hollowsween." He corrected his sister, only to be swatted lightly in the head by his older brother Jason.

"Don't tease her, and it's Halloween you brats." Jason said, putting the last of the pumpkins on the table. The family lived too far out to go trick or treating anywhere so Ballentine came up with an alternative. Allow the children to carve pumpkins while she hid little bags of treats through out the house and yard.

Six of the kids had hopped up to the table: Bricriu, Sayid, Belinda, Tasanee, Ed and Hugo. Waya and Jason where there as well but more for supervision.

Each child was given a pumpkin and a special knife to carve with. It was a knife that was supposed to be child safe, it sucked but did the job well enough! Jason explained to the kids how to carve the pumpkin with the following steps:

One, to carve a shape around the top, a circle the easiest. But for the kids it turned out to be more of a oval than anything!
Two, gut it out! This was a blast for them as they pulled the pumpkin pulp from inside, saving the seeds in a bowl to be eaten later.
Three, to draw a face on the front with a washable marker. The children seemed to enjoy this the most!
And lastly four, to carve the face out!

When the children were done Jason ordered them to go wash their hands in the bathroom. He took that time to clean up any marker left from the pumpkins and move them to the steps to go upstairs. A candle was placed in each one and then lit.

Ballentine came in just as he finished and laughed a bit. "Oh my! They all look so wonderful! Well all the candy is hidden, I want a photo of all the kids in costume before they go out." She said as she reached for the camera she brought out earlier that day. "Where are they?"

Jason smiled a bit. "Cleaning up.. They should be coming out in a minute. "

And truth be told, all six came out from random bathrooms in the house to relocate there in the hall. With mother's orders they all sat upon the steps. Each one was in some sort of costume. Belinda in her lady buy, Tasanee a butter fly, Bricriu put on a pair of glasses with a nose and moustache, Sayid one of Ballentine's skirts and lastly Ed and Hugo dressed as pirates.

With the picture taken Ballentine smiled at her children. "Alright! Go find your candy! It's three bags per person and each bag can be seen in some way. So go on and have fun!"

The kids took off in a frenzy and Ballentine laughed. Well she did something to make their Halloween special even if they couldn't really go out and trick or treat.

"Hair Cut Day."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

It was hair cut day for my family. Now, what is hair cut day? Well it's not the day I cram everyone into the car and drive them down to a barber or stylist to pay and arm and a leg for them to lose an inch of hair. No. I prefer to do it all myself. It's much cheaper that way!

Jason however always refuses to let me touch his hair. That's fine. I slip him a few bucks and he'd go get it done himself at a professional. I don't blame him there! Tasanee thankfully volunteered to go first, her hair was so long! We wet it down and after a few minutes I took off a few inches, the girl content with that.

Hugo had come in next, the boy a bit fussy over the situation. I had to take the quick way out and just chop the hair in front of his eyes so he could see again! Edward was the same way. Two peas in a pod, those two.

Bricriu, oh there was a head ache! He thought it was going to hurt and so bit, scratched, screamed and hit just to try and get away. After I used a bit of my own hair to show him that it doesn't hurt he calmed down. That and the fact I allowed him to play with a pair of safety scissors and paper. A distraction to get the work done! I think that was my mistake...

Belinda came next, the girl babbling on about her new dolly Tasanee had given her. She was over excited to get out of the chair and go play again, so I gave her a quick misting with a water bottle, brush through and a trim. She really did look cute with that hair style though I left the curls a bit longer.

Lastly was Waya, the boy looking a bit unsure with me wielding the scissors. I had to reassure him a few times that I knew what I was doing ( well enough to do minor work ) and I wouldn't screw anything up. Reluctantly he had sat down.

"Aieyaaa!" A scream. I immediately knew it was Belinda and put down my scissors. "Bricriu!" Another scream from the small girl as she chased the boy down the hall. "You broke her! You broked her!"

A blue streak whizzed past me as Bricriu sought out a hidden spot under the kitchen table. I was able to nab Belinda up into my arms before she had a chance to pass me. "What on earth is going on?!" I asked.

Tear stained cheeks turned up towards me, Belinda sniffling. A doll with chopped up hair was shown to me, "He broke her! I said no 'n he broked her!" The doll was then beat against my shoulder as if that would fix it. It didn't, it just made my shoulder a tad bit sore.

"Belinda, honey... Calm down. We can fix it later ok? Mommy promises she'll fix it." Setting the girl down I barely managed to snag her back. Her rage was present in her eyes and she wanted to take it out on Bricriu. The boy wasn't any better, teasing and taunting her from under the table. I had half a mind to let her go, but what kind of parent would I be?

"Now Belinda." I put her down upon her feet, held one arm firmly in m hand and turned her chin to face me. "If you don't stop I'm going to put you on the steps for five minutes. You didn't like it last time remember? Give me the doll and I'll fix her later."

"NO!" Belinda screamed, struggling to tug away. "I wanna break him!"

"Belinda no." I said and gave her bottom a small swat. "Do you want to go sit on the steps?"

"No... I... " She burst into more tears, going limp in my arms.

"Don't you go anywhere." I stated to Bricriu as I lifted Belinda up into my arms to carry her out of the room. I gently pet Belinda's back to calm her, humming while walking. The girl went from sobbing to sniffles by the time we reached her room. I put her down for a nap.

I was only gone a few seconds. A minute tops. But that was all the time Bricriu needed to destroy Waya's hair. When I returned to the kitchen I found Waya sitting atop Bricriu on the floor. Both boys looked up at me.

"Mommy get him off! Heaaaavvvyyy!" Bricriu whined as he kicked his feet about, hands flailing a bit. Though Waya wasn't letting the poor boy up at all. "Waya off!" He whimpered.

Waya scowled. "Look at what he did!" Lifting one hand he displayed a orange brown curl in his hand. Words didn't have to be said as I figured out what went on. Bricriu had clipped off one of Waya's hair curls. Well one good thing came out of the situation... I hated those damn curls.

"Waya get off your brother." I said as I approached the two, helping Waya off Bricriu to take the small boy into my arms. "Now hand over the scissors." I said as I placed my hand out for them. "Bricriu now." Hesitantly a small hand placed a pair of scissors into my hand, and I gave a now. "Good.. Now go to you room." I released him and gave his bottom a swat. "No dessert for you tonight."

I watched as the small child pouted all the way out of the room, hearing his little stops upon the steps. I shook my head and glanced at Waya, flashing an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry kiddo... But it looks like the only way to fix it is to either make it even or cut them all off."

Waya reached up to his hair, stroking his lovely curls a bit. "I guess... Cut them off." The words were said with a little remorse. He had those curls since birth, one of the last things he shared with Cubi left. Sighing he moved to sit in the chair and close his eyes.

I frowned as I approached him, feeling like a firing squad on a criminal. "It'll do it quick." I whispered lightly as I put Bricriu's scissors down and grabbed the correct ones . It was a few simple snips and the curls dropped to the ground. I ran my fingers through Waya's hair, snipping a bit of the ends to give him a shaggy look.

Five minutes later I ruffled his hair. "All done kiddo...."

Waya glanced up at me with a placid face and hopped out of the chair, a 'thanks' muttered as he started out of the room. I took a moment to watch him and smile. He was growing, a lot taller than when he first arrived. A more mature hair cut was definitely becoming of him.

Time for a clean up! I laughed to myself as I glanced down to see what mess I had. Though to my surprise, "Sayid! What are you doing?! You can't collect the hair!" I shouted as I saw a long bony finger grabbing and chunks of hair. Ugh! This house is just so crazy sometimes!

"Static Shock."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

"What should we do today Debbie?"

"I don't know! Maybe a tea party!"

"Yes! A tea party! Just the three of us!"

Belinda giggled softly after creating the voices for her dolls. She was happily seated in the middle of the hallway with her three favorite dolls. In each of her hands was one, the third at her side. She had no idea that in her moments of play time fun she was actually putting on a show for another small child of the household.

The newest arrival to the house, Taima, was upstairs. Golden eye watched intently from the hole in the ceiling the stairs made. It could be dangerous if she wasn't clinging to the ledge since her life depended on it. But from where she lay on the floor, dipped her head down, she could easily spy on Belinda. Though anyone walking by couldn't miss the long black tresses hanging down.

"We should invite Mrs. Frog!" One doll spoke as Belinda continued to play. The speaker was noticed by the rabid shaking the small girl made of the doll.

"No!" The opposite hand shook, "I heard Mrs. Frog has warts! We can't invite her!" The doll continued, "If we invite her we'll catch the warts!"

Quickly one doll was dropped, the other lifted into her hand. "That's right! Let's not invite Mrs. Frog!" The third doll was shaken now.

While the girl had continued to play, Taima moved. She slowly crept down the stairs, making her footsteps all but silent with a gentle lift from her wings. She couldn't fly yet, nor had she really given it much thought, but little hops easily became a flutter.

Quietly and slowly she strolled along to hover behind the small child, Belinda taking no notice. In fact the small girl continued on with her babble about the tea party her dolls were planning. Childish... Taima thought to herself.

"If we don't invite Mrs. Frog we can't invite Mrs. Orange either! Those two are - HEY!" The rapid shaking of the doll was halted as Taima ripped it from the little other's hand. "give that back!" She shouted, spinning around to face Taima.

Rolling her eyes a bit, Taima dropped the doll to the floor as if it were trash. "You're so childish..." She said with disinterest.

"They on like you! So no touch!"

"Their dolls..."

"They my friends!"

"Toys."

"GRAH!" Belinda shrieked as she lunged forward, her tiny fangs bared. "Meanie!" She shouted then made to bite the other. No luck.

Taima just waited until for her opportune moment when the girl was close enough. Reaching out she touched Belinda's shoulder. A shove was given as well as a static shock... A very large shock for Belinda's small size! She ended on her bottom in tears.

Taima just snorted while taking her leave from the scene. But at least she knew one good thing from this situation. Carpet static boots her powers! The whole time she had crept up on Belinda she was dragging her feet upon the carpet and had gained a bit of power.

Who'd be the next victim of this new game? That is if she didn't tire from it too soon.

Quest Time

A small letter from the Project is inside your mailbox today !

To Ballentine

Dear Ballentine,
Noticing that Belinda is staying with you for quite a while now and adjusted very well, we thought that it's probably time for her to grow. It often help an Eden child to complete a little task. We imagine that it might have to do with the stress and the effort they put in it.

Actually Belinda seems to have quite a temper. I suggest that you should probably teach her some handcraft like stitching or knitting. It doesn't have to be something special, I know there are lots of packages and kid starter sets. She should be able to show you a self-made piece in the end though, no matter what it is. Of course you may support her, but she should do it mostly on her own.

Have fun,

~Lena

Quest Entry 1 of 5
"3 Strikes."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

As a parent you learn to watch your children, find out how they think and act. Behavioral problems were almost always caught immediately, and Belinda had one. That was for sure! Her temper never seemed to calm, not even with the standard time out for bad behavior or special treats to promote the good behavior. Actually I think that completely back fired on me. I almost pleaded with Belinda to stop her temper tantrum in a store, having to bite my tongue to keep from giving into her demands.

After that day I set into motion the 3 strikes rule. The first strike was the usual 5 minutes time out sitting upon the bottom step on the stairwell. The second strike was a 10 minute time out in the corner of the room. For these two punishments, Belinda was still able to keep herself occupied with her imagination. Making up an 'I hate mean Mommy' song isn't the most flattering thing in the world, but Belinda is creative in her own ways.

Though one day came where I had to use the strike 3. That morning Belinda hadn't agreed to the majority vote of cold cereal for breakfast. She wanted pancakes. She was s**t out of luck. Not liking this situation, Belinda dumped her bowl of cereal onto the floor. That was strike one, and after her 5 minute time out she was placed back into her kitchen chair and forced to eat a bowl of cereal one cinnamon crunch square at a time. Thankfully the bowl wasn't full to capacity otherwise we'd have been there all night.

Strike two came at dinner when she got into a bit of a tizzy with her brother Bricriu. Arguments always started between someone at the table, and before I had a chance to intervene Belinda had a wad of spaghetti twirled on her fork and then flung it at her brother. This in turn started a food fight to make a long story short. Both Bricriu and Belinda were forced into a time out, and then made to help the rest of the kids clean up my poor abused kitchen.

That night, Belinda didn't stop it there. Strike three came shortly after the kitchen was cleaned, it was bath time. All the children had gotten so messy I told each one to take a shower or bath before bed. Having multiple bathrooms in the house caused no traffic jams, but the small children sometimes needed help, like Belinda. But she didn't want her bath and made the point quite clear once I undressed her and put her in the tub.

Bubbly water was not only splashed into my eyes to temporarily blind me and burn, but before I could recover from that pain I got a new one all together. I had left my hand on Belinda's shoulder, griping her lightly to make sure she couldn't make a run for it. That must have been my mistake, because soon sharp little teeth were sunk into my arm.

Before I knew what was going on, I had already done the almost unthinkable. I tugged her out of that tub, placed her over my knee and her bottom got three stern swats. Her screams stung my heart, but the deed was done.

Balling her up into a towel, I carried her to her room. She fussed the whole way too, wanting out of my arms and nothing more to do with me. Not a problem, my arm was still bleeding and I had to tend to it. I made sure to get her dry, in a clean pair of pajamas and then tucked her into bed.

My last words to her were not good night, sleep tight. Oh no, I muttered the reason for a strike 3. "Belinda, tomorrow you're grounded." The door shut behind me, Belinda's wailing screams coming from the other side.

Quest Entry 2 of 5
"The Punishment."

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

Grounding for my kid didn't mean I place them under house arrest. They would still enjoy themselves in some way or other when I had my back turned. No, that wasn't a punishment now was it? The punishment I had in mind was being forced to run my errands with me. That's exactly what I made Belinda do.

The first errand of the day was a trip to the bank. The ride in the car was probably the worst for my part. I had made sure there were no toys present for her to play with, and of course I didn't allow her to put on her Barbie cds in the radio. The silence was deafening, and Belinda had eventually fallen asleep. I let it slide, at least until we got to our destination.

Belinda was always crabby when first woken up, so having to walk into a crowded bank and stand for twenty minutes made a very cranky toddler. Every minute the small child tugged my hand while saying, "Mommy pleeeease. I wanna go home!" I had to deny it each time, asking her to be quiet. Already the people around us were beginning to stare and narrow their eyes. Like they never had to deal with toddler before! Tch, it was hard! And Belinda didn't make it any easier. By the time it was our turn tears were down her face and I had to almost literally drag her across the floor to the counter. The woman at the bank was a kind later, offering Belinda candy. Of course that shut her up, but I refused to allow Belinda to accept it, and it started a new wail of tears.

Thankfully the car ride to our next stop, the post office, was really just a turn around the block. Unfortunately for me, Belinda's crying hadn't stopped by then. Already the day was going horrible for me, but I just had to grin and bare it. Belinda wasn't enjoying it either. It would have only been a 5 minute wait inside the post office, but Belinda's temper tantrum on the floor cause a few people to cut in line. I didn't mind, it gave me a moment to calm the girl down and finally send the letters I needed to mail. While we were leaving I over heard someone mutter about how I need to learn to keep my kid under control when in public. That person could bite me.

Now suffering a major head ache I carried my fussy child once more to the car to make the last stop at the Supper Market. This care ride had the child pouting none stop, but at least she wasn't screaming her head off. A bit of a relief for me. Though I was dreading this trip into the Market. I never went shopping with my children for various reasons: temper tantrums, grabby hands and wandering feet. Three things that made a shopping experience hell.

Thankfully though, Belinda sat in the cart seat quietly. She didn't reach at shelves for anything to throw it on the floor or sometimes junk food into the cart. Instead she took to crossing her arms over her chest and glaring at me. It was the meanest look she could manage, and it still looked almost adorable on her face. Occasionally though, I felt a sharp pain to my knee as she swung her foot out to kick me.

Seeing as I was finishing with my shopping after an hour of roaming around the mega store, I decided that Belinda had in fact behaved. Well she didn't scream or cry this time, it was tolerable behavior. Casually I turned down one isle that my kids always went nuts in, the toy isle. I gently lifted Belinda out of the seat and put her onto the floor. "Alright. You were quiet the whole time so you can pike out one toy. But something constructive. Not a doll."

Belinda fixed me with a long, angry stare before she turned and walked away. She must have went up and down the isle at least ten times before she finally relaxed enough to actually look at her choices. It was a good girl gift and she should get what she wanted right? She looked at a few coloring books, then drifted over to the dolls. Oh yes, those dolls were quite tempting as there were plenty of pretty ones. Pausing just in front of them once more, her small hand reached out for the doll she had her eye on for a few days now.

"No Belinda." Ballentine's voice came from a few feet away. "I told you something constructive. You need to find some way to release the stress and anger that bottles up inside that cute little body of yours. Why not one of those cross stitch things? They have cute designs."

Belinda's eyes drifted over to her mother, a scowl forming as she let the doll drop back down onto the shelf. Fine... Something else then. She moved to the cross stitch her mother spoke of and eyed it curiously. The patters were actually quite cute. Though nothing there was catching her eye. She continued to browse the section of crafts kits until she found a box with promise. A knitting set.

Small hands reached for it and pulled it closer for a better observation. Why yes this was just the thing to do it. It was better than nothing, and even better than those hard looking cross stitch things. Deciding that's what she wanted, the child offered the box to Ballentine for approval. The mother nodded and thus the box was added to the shopping cart. Belinda wouldn't show it but she was a bit excited to begin.
