The pig rolled her eyes, "Yeah, shot at you after you shot. That's how it goes. We don't shoot until fired upon. And if you to imply we were dirty cops, you'll be sorry."

"Are you trying to tell me..." Bobby glared at Billy from the corner of her eye, "that women cannot be cops? Let me tell you something, buster! I grew up in the broncs, where living past the age of fifteen is an accomplishment the crime is so bad. I became a cop to try to protect my children. I didn't care if I lost my life protecting them and others like them... that's what it's like to be a parent!" Nevermind that this... life... was worse than death... knowing that her children were still out there and she couldn't be with them anymore. She was powerless; and that was a feeling that Bobby Reynolds never could easily accept. And... yeah... that was only part of the reason she followed him so feverently that night.

"I'm sayin'...!" Billy weazed, trying to raise his voice as high as he could, but it only sounded strained and hoarse, "Wha'... did y'tink... was gonna' happen... t'ye? If y'followed me..?? Y'jump off... tha' dock... y'tinkin'... he gonna shoot me?... I gonna' drown? Makes sence.... y'knew ye'd be sacrificin' yerself possibly... aye? When... y'go out doin' yer... copper ting'... coffee o' no, an' yer faced wit' armed crazies... li' me... e'ery day, wha' d'y'expect? Maybe yer.... children tink... yer invincible... They probably... made it seem li'... I bloody shot you too... an'... shot meself o' sometin'... wouldn'... put it past 'em..." He took forever to say anything, but he was trying, pausing now and again to gasp for air.

Bobby had to take a deep breath. She knew all that.... every day she was reminded, especially when a police officer died while on duty... which was pretty often granted the criminals were also armed. "I knew I took a chance when I chased after you. But you killed my partner. We had watched each other's back for over five years. He was not just my partner, but also my best friend. I wasn't going to just... let you get away." She didn't believe he'd understand that either.

As for the rest... what could she say? She couldn't speak for her children, and what could she possibly say to justify what she did... he was just a criminal and murderer anyways... and it was unfortunate that it took him turning into an octopus to retain some of the humanity he was born with.

Granted, it hadn't been so much the octopus making him well behaved as the absence of narcotics in his system, and the terror of the collar still around his neck, "I aint... who I was then. I wish I were...t'tell y'th'truth. Were a lo'... easier t'keep goin'... day by day... when yer... bloody tweaked ...an' t'ink yer superman. Jes' lemme' .....alone, already!" His eyes dropped down to the stumpy tentacle half regenerated from the change and his expression hardened. He suddenly wipped a tentacle around to land in front of her, "Go ahead..... If it'll make y'feel better... take off me arm...... E'eryone else... bloody... seems t'get a kick... out o' cuttin' bits off me!" He hoped she would be touched by his offer and politely decline.

It was tempting, oh so tempting.... Bobby looked at the tentacle. She wasn't exactly planning on taking the arm just... off.... She'd eaten octopus before, once, a long time ago. It wasn't that bad. As her bright eyes watched the tentacle, her stomach growled loudly, just to put the point across. She HAD fallen on her food and had nothing to eat now.

His eyes widened, "Y'aint bloody... serious, are ye...? Jesus, Christ,.... woman!"

Bobby snorted and put a hoof on her stomach as best she could with having so many.... breasts. "I wouldn't even try it, I'd probably be zapped anyway.... and besides, I don't know where that's been!"

She took a deep breath, "You know, it's not like I ever personally seeked you out." Bobby rolled her eyes again, and took another breath. He was right, she knew that... but gosh, she did not want to admit that to him. She'd like to take it out on him, but what would that get her? A nice zapped unconsciousness and probably an unwanted swim in the lake. That didn't mean she had to be totally nice to him all the time. But, seriously, she was all angered out... now the pig in her simply wanted to just.... be lazy, do nothing.

"T'ink o' me... as a man.... reconditioned," He reasoned, trying to make her feel better at least. "Justice.... was served. More o'... less." He didn't see it that way, but if it stopped the woman from attacking him or shitting on his property whenever he saw her, that was a plus.

A speck of the anger came back, "How was justice served by turning me into a pig? If you had any idea, you would know that two breasts were enough... and now, I have eight! Not to mention tusks, rolls of fat, hooves, a pig nose, and a hunger that is never satisified..... I wouldn't term that justice."

Actually, she did know... God had to be punishing her for what she did to Trevor....

"I mean... punished ME... y'daft pig!" He weazed at her angrilly, but it wasn't quite the same without his boistrous shout.

"It's all about YOU, isn't it!?" Bobby growled. "The Island doesn't revolved around you, ya buttered hors d'oeuvre!"

"I... din'... say tha'...!" He groaned, "Y"know wha'... yer impossible! Ferget... all this!" He huffed breathily, turning to crawl away. Maybe she'd forget the backpack.

Bobby snorted in a very piggish fashion. He was doing it again... running away. Typical.

Since he was about to leave, Bobby figured she'd try to stand up and maybe leave again. Since she was much calmer, the pig was on her crooked feet on the first try. Her stomach growled again, and she realized how hungry she really was. Bobby had forgotten about the backpack, until she sighted it as she turned to go. Hey, maybe there was some food in there!

Bobby reached and grabbed the bag, trying to move the zipper back by putting a cloven hoof part in the hole and pushing it away.

"Ah.... hey.... hey...!" He weazed once he spotted what she was doing, "Get... tha's MINE... stop...!" He hurled himself forward over the rocks on trembling,a ching limbs.

Bobby froze, looking at the octopus. Much of her humanity -anger, and all- was replaced by the pig's frantic obsession with food. Her stomach growled again and she croaked out, "Is there food in it?"
