kmaritza Hey, I just wanted to remind everyone who has suggestions for Books of the month to post them in Levar Burton's journal. I'm hoping we can get some good selections and get a bunch of us reading and discussing those books in November. I know from the discussion in the rants thread that we have a bunch of readers around here. biggrin Could you post a link, K? I have a couple of suggestions, I'm not on here very often at the moment, but I'm always reading and I love to chat to people about good books.

Thanks for the suggestion, Mara! I decided to use it. I hope we'll have some readers this month.

No worries, I hope a couple of people pick it up! I don't actually know anyone else who has read it so I'm dying to discuss ( xd whoops bad pun).

I'm hoping to get my hands on the book. I really want to read it. I checked the local library's online catalog and the book was lost so I'm probably gonna have to buy it if I want to read it. If I can scrounge up the money, I will do that. New babies tend to eat up all the money though. sweatdrop

I need some suggestions for making the BoM Club more successful. So far nobody has been reading the selections. If I could get some suggestions for what would help people to participate then the BoM Club could be reformatted and we could start again in January. For December we'll just keep the same BoM as November since nobody has had a chance to pick up the book yet.

Hmmm maybe we can do a review system? Take it in turns to review the last book we read or something? Then we can at least have some room for discussion on different kinds of books etc....

Hhhhmmmm... I dunno. I was hoping the book club would see more action as well. I know one problem I have is that I don't currently have any extra funds to go buy a book. sad
But perhaps there is some way we can drum up some participation. Maybe we could start off by doing some more common books, that may would draw people in at least, then move on to more book genres from there?

Ditto on that Loki, we have no money for me to just go buy books every month, and the library system here in town is less then encouraging for finding anything. >_o Yet another dislike for me to add to my list of reasons why I'd never want to live here.
