Quirking an eyebrow Destiny looked at Ali. "You look like you are about to figure out a way to solve world hunger." She said laughing. "Seriously, what are you thinking about?"

Ali shook out of thought when she heard Destiny's words. "Oh, it's just you said you saw me here at night." Ali hesitated before asking, "Do you know," she stopped herself and rephrased it, "It's just, have you heard about the odd happenings at night here. Unatural happenings." Ok, she probably thinks I'm some loon escaped from a asylm. Ali felt stupid. She should have just let it alone.

"Oh yeah! Those strange happenings are exactly what I am here about. I am fasinated with the occult and the otherside." Destiny knew she was lying through her teeth but that was what her father had trained her to do. He never came out and told her to lie, oh no. She would get a swift swat on the tail for that when she was younger. He hid it under the pretense of acting. The words of her father rang through her mind. Destiny, just imagine yourself a famous actress in a film that will have no end until we rid the world of these vile, ungodly creatures.

Ali looked confused trying to make sure she heard Destiny correctly. "You're just pulling my leg, aren't you?" she asked knowing that she had made a mistake. What were the chances that this girl knew about the true existence of vampires and werewolves. Ali felt as if she should leave, lay low for a few weeks and then maybe show her face at the park again.

Lifting her sleeve up to her elbow showing a line of small circular scars going up her arm. "I am not pulling your leg I'm afraid. I knew you were looking for the same thing as I am when I saw you the first night in this park."Pulling her sleeve back down she sighed. "These marks, my life, my training, my very exsistance are all tied together in who I am. At least according to my father." Smiling she looked deep into Ali's eyes and said. "Allow me to intorduce myself properly. My name is Destiny Faith Savage, of the known Savage Slayers."

Ali inspected the scars closely. This woman was serious. Savage? Where have I heard that name before? She thought back. Yes, she remembered the name mentioned in a bar once. A man was talking to another about a family of slayers. Of course this was in a very run down bar where information hung in the air stagnantly. “Savage Slayers, huh? Well there’s nothing unique about my family expect that they're all dead.” Ali let these words slide from her lips thick like syrup.
Changing her attitude completely she asked, “Per chance have you destroyed a vampire with no right pinkie finger?” She hopped the answer would be no. Her brother had lost his right pinkie finger when they were very little and playing things they shouldn’t. The two were visiting their father at a the shoe factory only a year before the car accident that killed her parents. The two siblings had wondered off to play with the machinery. That was the day Stephen, Ali’s brother lost his right pinkie finger.

"No, I haven't at least but I can't garantee that one of my brothers or cousins have not gotten him." Shifting to a more comfotable position she scanned the park. Another new comer had sat at a bench with his nose in a book. She wished she could just sit and read for awhile. "Do you know where he is? Or where he might be?"

Ali heard Destiny’s words, but only pondered them for a moment. She was relieved to hear her answer, but what if someone else got to him first? Ali would just have to accept it. She noticed Destiny’s eyes drift for a moment; she looked over see a new comer. She ignored the figure and answered Destiny’s question, “Well, no. I don’t know where he could be. The truth is I haven’t seen him in years. He may already have been slain and I don’t think he would have left the city.” Ali took in a deep breath, “You see, he’s my brother.” Ali was ashamed to admit such a thing. Her only remaining family member wasn’t even human anymore, he was a vampire.

Destiny saw the regret and pain in Ali's eyes. "Do not feel ashamed, he is your brother. Plus if he follows standard vampire law then there really is no reason to kill him." Smileing she started in on what she hoped would be a short history of her life as a slayer. "You see I believe that I was born into the wrong family. I never really got into the trompping around graveyards or hammering stakes into things. But my father had an old voodoo woman tell him that the day a female was born into the family the slaying days would change forever. I am the first and only female to be born into the entire line of Savages." "Going along with that our name was changed about one hundred some years ago. Apparently my great great grandfather found the name VanHelsing too commonly known around the creatures we hunted." Before continueing on Destiny smiled and asked Ali if she had any questions as of yet.

Ali listened trying to keep her mind from wandering from what she heard. Ali was amazed. She had never heard of such lineage. A family sworn to defend against vampires and werewolves. She had no idea that the issue had lived on so long. When Destiny asked her if she had any questions she shook her head no, wanting to hear more.

"Alrighty, and don't be afraid to shut me up if I start to bore you. I don't talk to alot of people." Sighing Destiny continued on with her story. "The marks that I showed you earlier were not inflicted on me in anyway. I was born with them. They run up the side of my right leg up to the side of my rib cage, and my left arm up to my shoulder. Of course these are only more fuel that my father can use in his theory that I am ohhhhh so important in the line of slayers." "God I swear I was switched in the hospital." She mummbled. "It was not all that pleasant growing up in my family not to say that it was all bad but still, when you are studying what type of stake to use on a different size vampire instead of playing with barbie or having tea parties things can get a little tense. So needless to say I am trained in all different types of weaponery, martial arts, and those kinds of things to keep my butt very much alive instead of only half." Destiny took in a deep breath and sighed. "Well is there anything else that you would like to know now or do you just want to learn as we move on? Oh, that reminds me. Where are you staying?"

Ali listened intently. She giggled at Destiny's sidenote, and continued to focus her full attention on what she was hearing. Ali cocked her head slightly to the side. She rarily told anyone where she was staying, but this girl had told her so much. Ali felt at debt to her. "I'm staying at a condemned apartment building a few blocks down. It's scheduled to be demolished in a few months." Ali answered Destiny's question with little thought to her current home's future deystruction; Ali had come accustomed to switching home regularly.

"Damn you are living there. Well I am staying in the inn over there. It is not much but at least it is warm, dry, and not falling down around my ears. It has two beds. You are more than welcome to come and stay there with me until I leave."

Ali’s eyes widened and a bit of excitement rushed through her body. She hadn’t slept anywhere warm in a while. The mention of a bed also made her quite happy. “Are you sure it’s ok?” she asked not wanting to impose.
