Omg I didnt know that the "Spirit Bears" from the movie Brother Bear was the same as the one in real life!!! O___O That is soo cooL to know!! XD lol

Oh my, theyre wonderful Animals!! <33 theyre soo adorable and awesome!! Sad to know what stupid humans are doing these days, I wish they are protected somehow from getting harmed and extinct..

these days amazing creatures in teh WIldlife are getting extinct soo quickly and that's breaking my heart crying

{random thought}Recently the polar bears and other animals from Antartica couldnt survive because of teh melting of ice (due to global warming i think)

Spirit Bears are cool!! =D

If enough people speak up to the government, and let them know we care, we can make a difference. I have signed petitions, written letters, and this summer my sisters and I are going to sell artwork and fund raise for the spirit bear. My first page has a lot of information about what’s going on, if you want to educate yourself. I have also provided links of petition sites. In 2008 the Spirit Bear movie is coming out, so buy one! Proceeds go to these bears!

I saw your post on the Pets and Animals guild, but Chupi was being very typical for Chupi (I don't agree with most of the crap he says). It's because of people like Chupi that so many animals are going extinct.... they simply give up hope.

Speaking up really does help!

I signed the pre-made letter. Mostly only because I don't have enough time to write one of my own ^_^.

I just want you to know.. I didn't sign it for the spirit bear. I signed it for the entire rain forest. People are idiots and someday Earth is going to turn around and bite us in the a**. We as humans need to stop taking from Earth and start sharing with her. If you've noticed Earth has started taking from us much more often than usual (tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc).

I don't mind arguing with people like that, it allows people to see both sides. It does how ever make me sad to think, that people actually feel that way about these situations. I am very happy you signed it!! I knew, when I made the thread that some people may not care, but the entire point of it is for people like you who do care! And to get the ones that do care to take action. Thank you again, this forest means a whole lot to me!

The more people you can educate on the matter the better!! I have made different threads on the topic, and continue to make projects at school to educate others. My main source of information is www.spiritbearyouth.org so if you ever need a site for info, I recommend that one! I joined the spirit bear youth coalition this year and they send you the latest news through e-mail etc. Also if you go to http://www.gaiaonline.com/gaia/redirect.php?r=http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/forestethics/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=6636 you can sign a similar pre-written letter in regards to B.C mountain caribou.

As for Mother Nature, I agree she may be in a cleansing process as my friends call it. I hope everyday that humans would just try to save their earth without question. But unfortunately it's going to take a big "scare" to get their attention. It will take the death of millions before people will do anything to help.

My mom already signed the petition. She's a member of Greenpeace (USA link) (international link).

Greenpeace is a group of people who are activists in protecting Earth, it's animals, and it's beautiful forests. If you want to make a difference in this one forest for this one species I ask you to join Greenpeace and make a difference every day all over the world. They will e-mail you petitions, such as this one, and all you need to do is sign a pre-made letter to make a huge difference. One signature, 5 million letters, we CAN make a difference.

I want to thank Shiloh. By making this thread you helped remind me what I want to do. I want to make a difference. I am just one person, but so is Jane Goodall. One person can do a lot. That's my dream. Even if I only get one or two people to listen, I made a difference.

I think it's going to take something as drastic as, the very "Hollywood" movie, "A Day After Tomorrow", for people to actually consider changing their habits. I mean recent scares still affect some people, but I think it will take drastic measures for most people to believe in Global Warming. But it's very real and there is much science to prove it, but people still continue to turn their backs. And it’s not necessarily that they don’t believe in global warming, it’s just that they don’t flat out care.

Im just here to say that I truly belive what those people are doing is so horrible and inhuman. Those pleople are not thinking about anything else besides themselves which is really selfish in their part. I am only 16 so I might not be able to do much but I also believe in saving the Spirit Bears. So I signed the pre-made letter. I hope it helps.

I made this thread in hopes to get more people aware of the situation and for them to decide what to do with the information. I am very pleased you signed the pre-written letter!! I agree although we are only 16 and may not understand or know everything (no one does xp ) our passions and feelings exist and this should matter to our government. Well anyways they care about numbers/popularity, so the more people that are writting letters the better chance we have of helping these bears!

There isn’t anything necessarily wrong with trying to build an economy. But logging must be done respectfully and responsibly. I mean without a planet/environment our economy wouldn’t exist.

Money vs Planet…. Isn’t it obvious?
