Raelin giggled and gently set her hand on his hand. Whenever she confused someone or got to far in her game, she always found a way of fixing it. That was her only condition to playing games; fix what has been broken.
"Aww, poor baby. I was only kidding about Rylin, he's a harmless little butterfly.. with big teeth."
Raelin tilted her head and already knew where the bite marks could be found, on the wrist. That's where Rylin usually bit. For biting on the neck could have the risk of binding the mortal to you. Raelin was a witch with a vampire for a brother, so they both knew a lot. Picking up his wrist she looked at the small healed-over wounds.
"You were attacked and hit your head, giving yourself memory loss. You'll get it back in a few days... I was so worried, and Rylin took you home for me so I wouldn't be too worried about my number one boy!"
Raelin held in a sigh as she looked at the bite marks that were almost unnoticable. She lifted his wrist to examine it closer and slowly brought her lips to it, placing a tender kiss where the wound used to be. She held his hand gently and smiled up at him, leaning her head against his shoulder.

Luciel twitched when she put her hand on his, but didn't try to take his hand away. He supposed, if they had known each other before, that she did this sort of thing often. Right? He smiled at the 'big teeth' comment. Come to think of it, a couple of teeth had looked a bit bigger than the others, hadn't they?
"I see...is that what happened?" But Rylin said it was his fault, so what did that mean? He didn't think Rylin would've attacked him. Did Rylin do something to make someone mad and then they attacked him? Huh... Luciel was distracted from trying to piece the story together when Raelin leaned against him. He couldn't help it, he blushed slightly. So...what was he supposed to do now?

Raelin still held his hand until she turned it over. Of course, to the untrained eye (Luciel xD) the bite-marks were unnoticable, but to Raelin they were plain as day. She stared down at them and her eyes softened. Raelin often felt sorry for those that fell victim Rylin, but she felt more-so this time because now it was a male, and she wasn't sure things would work the same with a male as it did a female. That was one thing they had never learned yet. Staring down at his wrist, where she could see the marks, she tenderly ran her fingers across it.
"It is all his fault, you know.. Well, I mean, of course you don't know.. but you will.."
Raelin's voice was soft and tender now, her attitude had quickly changed. She stood and walked to the back room, picking the lock on the bathroom door. She walked in and closed and locked the door, facing the mirror. She rubbed steam from the mirror and glared coldy with her emerald eyes.
"Rylin, you've gone to far now... You were only supposed to have a few selected girls, not boys. We don't know if he'll ever be the same again. I can't go on comforting him, giving him false memories that me and him were once an item, and you can't go on pretending that you and him were and always have been good pals. You know that, don't you?"
Before her brother could reply, already knowing what he was going to say, she walked out of the bathroom door and slammed it shut. She walked down the hall, past the room Luciel sat in, and out the back door. She was now standing outside in a lovely garden, the dim moonlight shining down on her and reflecting in the water.
I hope one day... I'll be able to meet him under better circumstances... I wish he was himself now, that way I could finally meet someone that isn't my dumb family...
Raelin thought to herself and sighed, wrapping one arm around a wooden beam and leaning her head against it, staring out over the garden.
"I'm cursed to be alone, I know that, for I could never risk bringing someone I learn to love into harms way with Rylin as my family..."

All his fault? Whose, Rylin's or someone else's? She was right, he didn't understand. He would have asked her more questions, but she left before he could say anything. His ears drooped again, he wasn't sure why, but he had this gut feeling something was wrong, that she was really upset somehow. His fault? Hm...
He flopped onto his back and stared at the cieling, trying to make sense of things.

Rylin sighed as he wrapped a towel around his waist and fixed his hair the best he could since Raelin obviously wasn't going to be helping him at this paticular moment. Reaching out he grabbed his clothes and walked out of the bathroom and into the laundry room, putting his clothes in the washer. Then he turned and walked back into the room Luciel was in, scratching his head and holding the towel loosely around his waist.
"So I see you've met Raelin again... Pretty moody, isn't she?"
Rylin rummaged around the room before finding more clothes and walking into the closet, closing the door, and returning perfectly dressed, the only trouble was his hair since he couldn't fix it by looking in a mirror.
"She's probably outside sulking and feeling sorry for herself. Spoiled brat, that's what she is."
Raelin unwrapped her arm from the wooden beam, but continued to lean up against it. She sighed heavily once more before slipping off her shoes and walking into the house. Footsteps could be heard walking upstairs, they were dainty, so it had to be her. She entered her room and put on her sleeping clothes. Tonight she chose a white shirt with a golden band that went just below her chest, then the rest of the shirt flowed down (think about modern day shirts). She pulled on a pair of pale blue sweat pants that fit her perfectly around the waist and tooshie but were baggy around her legs and hung just above her feet.
Raelin walked back down the stares and walked out the backdoor, closing it lightly. Looking around she stepped off of the porch onto the soft ground and over to the pond, sitting down and pulling her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs and resting her chin on her knees.
She knew that Luciel was a dog, like Jepherie, and would be able to hold onto their scents but things would still be weird. She would perfectly remember everything and he would remember nothing but her scent.. Things were just horrible. She'd meet someone and make a friend only to have them ripped away when they returned to their old lives and she and Rylin were erased and replaced.

When Rylin walked in, Luciel was lost in thought, but he snapped out of it when Rylin spoke. "Eh? Yeah, I did. She is kinda moody...I wonder what's wrong?" He looked over at Rylin and smiled. "Your hair's kinda messed up. Can't use a comb?" Raelin could be a spolied brat, or she could be genuinely upset. He couldn't remember much about her yet, but he was willing to believe it was the latter.

"Who knows whats got her all moody."
Rylin blinked and frowned a bit at the comment Luciel made.
"Ha ha, very funny."
He chuckled slightly and picked up a comb, running it through his hair then using it to guide the way to putting his hair-tie in for his loose ponytail.
"I suppose she'll be out there all night. I'm going to hit the sack."
Rylin flopped down face-first on the bed Luciel was on and reached up to gently tangle his fingers in Luciel's head, pat his head, then rolled over and curled into a little ball. If there was one un-vampire thing about Rylin it was the way he slept.

All night? And she didn't get cold? Luciel's eyebrows went up. Geez...one thing was for sure, he knew nothing about the inner workings of young girls' minds. All night?
At the mention of sleep, Luciel gave a small yawn. He'd only woken up a while ago, but sleep...sleep sounded nice. Who knows, maybe he'd wake up and remember something. It was unlikely, but hey. Luciel smiled slightly at the way Rylin slept and closed his eyes. "Good night." Then he drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Once more continuing from the thread! Raelin and co. meet at the orphanage and after some talking, Raelin sends Rylin and Jepherie away to talk to Luciel in private. Uh-oh! She's gonna tattle on Rylin! ----------------------
Luciel's ears twitched, surprised. "...It wasn't an accident? What happened then?" His eyes were full of curiousity. If it wasn't an accident, what had happened to him to make him forget?

"After I tell you you're going to want to leave... and I don't want you to, but I just see it happen all the time so I know that you'll leave too.."
Raelin stared down at their hands and took in a shakey breath, reaching her free hand up to put over her eyes for a moment. Raelin always told Rylin's victims the truth, and they always left, even after she was attatched to them, so she often cried... Though this time she was trying to hold it back, but the tears were plain to hear in her quivering voice.
"Luciel... Rylin was the one who attacked you.. My brother, he's... he's a vampire... And he fed from you, and once he closes the wound his victim loses memory for a few days... Now that you actually know, you're memory will fade back piece by piece and you won't remember me or Rylin or Jepherie anymore.. but I'll remember you. I'll always remember... just like the rest, just I'll remember you the most and I don't know why."
Raelin looked up at him and locked her fingers with his, placing her free hand gently on his cheek. Her touch was soft and warm, but tears were welling in her emerald eyes. She leaned up slowly and placed a tender kiss on his cheek, allowing tears to drop to her cheeks before she pulled away and pulled her hand from his cheek. Reluctantly, she released his hand and backed away.
"Goodbye, Luciel..."
Raelin looked up at him, then turned and slowly began to walk away, lifting her head only once to look for her brother and Jepherie, and looking back to him only once before she turned back to walk away.

"Why would I want to leave?" Luciel's expression immediately went from curiosity to concern, whatever the truth was, it was upsetting her, and he wasn't quite sure he wanted to know. Before he could say so, Raelin spoke and revealed the truth.
Well...odd and intimidating as truth was, that sure explained things. Trying to mentally stick the word 'vampire' to Rylin felt odd, though. What was even more odd was that he it didn't bother him too much. They were actually pretty nice to him. Sure, they didn't tell the whole truth, but what would he have expected otherwise? He probably wouldn't have said "Good morning, I'm a vampire who just sucked your blood and gave you temporary amnesia! =D"
It put quite a bit of a damper on his new friendships, though. As much as he didn't like the idea, he was going to forget them. But what could he do? It wasn't as though he didn't want his memories back. She was crying though, so he had to do something. Hm...
And then it hit him. Of course! He could do that! It was a bit silly, but why not?
"Hey! Wait up!" Luciel hurried to catch up with Raelin, reaching into his pocket. If he was right, then there'd be something in there...

Raelin stopped as instructed but didn't turn around to face him. One of her hands reached up to rub her eyes, but she still didn't turn around. Closing her eyes she tried to regain her composure and finally suceeded just enough to turn around and look up at him.
"... Luciel.. I am sorry..."
Raelin sighed softly and look down at the ground. Exactly what more could she say? Nothing. There was nothing more that she could say or do, she told him the truth, and he would forget them no matter how much he willed himself not to.

Luciel pulled his hand out of his pocket and, just as he'd thought, there was his old good luck charm dangling from it. He never quite believed it worked, but he'd always kept it close because it had been a gift from his mother. It was a small round pendant with a crescent moon carved on one side and a sun on the other.
"Here. I want you to keep this." He gave a small, sad smile. "I'll probably forget you have it, but still, you know? I can't exactly remember what it was for, but I've got a feeling it was important. You can give it back next time we meet, okay?" He grinned this time. "It's probably a stupid thought, but I'm pretty sure we'll meet again."

Raelin stared at the luck charm with her emerald eyes before reaching out, her hand gently brushing his, and taking it. She lifted it closer to see it better, then nodded once to him. She had gently placed a hand on his face when he smiled sadly, but when he grinned, she removed his hand and looked back to the luck charm. Finally she would be able to keep a friend, or at least this time there was hope.
"Then goodbye until we meet again, Luciel.."
Raelin looked up at him for a drawn out, silent moment before she turned and began to walk away again, holding the luck charm in her hands while staring down at it. Soon she was back home and watching Rylin shake his head at her while Jepherie sat silently and stared at her. Rylin took a step towards her but she only glared at him, causing her older brother to back away. Turning she walked up the stairs and slammed her bedroom door.
Walking over to her window-seat she plopped down and drapped a cover over her, after switching back into her night clothes. She sat there, her head against the cool window, her watery emerald eyes staring down at the luck charm. She wondered what Luciel was doing now, probably already forgotten by now. Raelin lifted her head when there was a knock on her door.
"Go away."
Jepherie entered her room and looked at her with his brilliant green eyes, closing the door behind him before reaching a hand up to sweep brown hair from his face. Slowly crossing the room to the window seat, he sat down on the opposite side of her, one knee upright and the other leg hanging over the edge of the window-seat. Jepherie looked out the window and then looked to Raelin.
"It must be a pretty hard life-style for you, Raelin... Especially since Rylin is your only family member so you've got nobody to lean on and to understand you.."
Raelin had already clipped the charm onto a silver chain and wore it around her wrist. She looked over to Jepherie and shook her head, pushing the cover off of her and crawling over to him on her hands and knees so she wouldn't fall off the window-seat. She turned around and sat down infront of him, leaning back against him, resting her head on his chest and turning it to the right to look out the window.
"I've got you, Jepherie, and no matter what you say you'll always be my brother... and you'll always be my favorite brother because you won't try to eat my friends..."
Jepherie looked down at Raelin and then back out the window. He put his right arm over her shoulder and looked down at her when she wrapped her arms around his right arm, leaning her head against it. Suprisingly, Jepherie didn't blush, and this was only because he knew that Raelin was his family; his little sister. So he put his left arm around her in a hug and lifted his left leg, stretching it out across the room left on the window-seat and stroked Raelin's hair until she fell asleep, still clinging to his arm.
Standing and lifting her carefully into his arms then carrying her to her bed and placing her beneath the covers, he leaned down and kissed her forehead gently.
"Don't you worry, little sister, he'll be back..."
