Nada blinked as she was lifted up and looked like a confused puppy, watching Peter curiously before looking over to Wally and grinning like a nut. "Peter...I'll be seeing YOU tonight. My house this time. And bring some toys." she cackled and ran a finger down his chest all seductively. Making a scene she winked and pursed her lips.
"Soooo Wally!" she quickly turned around and bounced over to him, linking her arm in his. "I've known you the longest right? So I can help you do stuff! I'm really good at planning things I'll have you know. Like remember my 16th birthday party? It was MY idea to go to Chuck.E.Cheeses and laugh at the guy wearing the costume...and THEN go to the pool. See how perfect it was? I could be just the girl for your planning needs." She smiled, giving Wally no choice in the matter.
"Alrighty then...so I guess we'll be meeting up later! I've got to think of what I want to wear! And I'll need to get my hair done and all...but that's okay, I have plenty of time...I don't spend twelve hours packing, give me two seconds and I'm OUTTA THERE!" With her free hand she made a zooming motion and then looked up to Wally once more.
"So...you drive...cause like...you know how I drive..."
((Hahaha...poor Wally...stuck with Nada... :] Since I figures Lala would make Ava go with peter...*nods all knowingly* I wonder why...
Just kidding butt heads! OMG I HAD MINT COFFEE! SUUUHWEEET!))

((Oh... my sweet Jesse James... how lovely and thoughtful of you! Buuuut... Ala's character is gunna chill with Kiki's character! BUT IT WAS SUCH A LOVELY THOUGHT IT MADE ME CRY! T.T LIKE THAT! Hahaha, that's ok though! Peter will TOTALLY CHILL WITH ANNA! ROCKIN'! GO AKA GO! And dood... I have a fever too (a doom cold), Kiki. Man, I musta like... given it to you... cos like... you're so hawt. It seemed the appropriate thing to do at the time! My bad. I woulda never done it if I'da known you were seeing some babe.))
Peter laughed at Nada, and winked in return. "I'll bring the grease if you bring the fun." He responded with an entirely straight face, though then made a 'pft' sound and smacked a hand to his forehead. "Oh wow. I totally disturbed myself right there." He shuddered. "Anyway. Since everyone is pairing off, I totally got dibs on Anna. I wanna buy her a tamberine." The blonde said with a joking grin in her direction. "And since she is always in popular demand, I thought I'd yoink her from all of you ahead of time."
He shook his head a bit. "We'll buy some food and crap," He paused, "Won't we, Anna? Good? Great. Awesome. I gotta motor though. Better tell my dad I'm getting the hell out of here so he doesn't have to worry about kicking me out eventually too. See ya later tonight... And you." He pointed at Anna. "Tomorrow. I'll pick you up." He walked off in his own direction, waving everyone off. "And thanks for lunch, Rach! I love you when you're rich!"
((there! HOW AWESOME WAS THAT POST?! Totally not! It was pretty crappy... but Kiki was right! TOO MUCH SITTING! OMG! SITTING! *drools*))

((Sounds like a plan indeed, my Canadian friend! *writes*))
"You guys are all crazy," Ava laughed and too stood from her seat. "I suppose I oughta get ready then... Let the good parentals know of my plans. And then thwart their attempts to stop me." She rolled her eyes behind her sunglasses. "See you chaps later... And Peter? Don't get those nasty shrink wrapped fish things again. Those were just NASTY."
She gave Rachel a wave as the girl left, "Call me to arrange that shopping thing, alright? Alright!"
"And Peter, if your dad decides he's throwing you out tonight, you can always stay at my place. That guest room in the basement's free for the taking." Her offer given, she too headed toward her car, "See y'all later!"
((haha, kinda useless... *Squints*))

"I worked hard. I studied. I took the ACT, the SAT, and every prep class I could find. I sent applications to the best schools, and was rejected all around. You sat on your pale a**. I have every right to bite your head off." He huffed and downed another fry. "I like my worry stick just fine, Ava. Leave it alone." "And judging by your slackjaw agreement, Peter, it's hard to believe your little friend isn't standing at attention." He shrugged and gave Nada a look as well. "Hell, you people talk about it enough, it's hard to differentiate."
His shoulders hunched and he sipped a Sprite. Sure. Stick him with the work. Not much of a surprise there. He didn't mind doing it, no, just the fact that they didn't bother to even try too hard themselves. He sighed. "All right, then. If I let you people do it, lord knows we'll end up dead."
Ah, but Nada jumped in as well. He raised a brow. "Alright, if you want." He thought back. "Shreiking children everywhere, terrible food, and taunting an already miserable man in a horrifying suit.... Yeah, you're a brilliant strategist." Of course he wouldn't admit that it had been amusing in a way he couldn't quite describe. "Well, fine, we'll meet up later."
"Rach!" He called after her as she marched off carelessly. "I'm gonna need the address of the place to figure the route, okay? Anything about the area your parents might know'd be good."
He glanced to the others. "If you all're just going to discuss shopping or whatever, I might as well head off. Nada, I'll meet up with you later to figure things out." He considered her driving comment. "We'll meet at your place. I don't want to explain to the neighbors why some girl crashed a car into my living room."
((Haha... Only the a** part is coming out, thus far... perhaps once we get past the planning stage, he'll get a little more in depth.))

Nada watched Peter with a strange face and nodded. "You know I always bring the fun sugar lips. Ooooh if you buy her a tamborine could you get me those rattles so I can go around making snake noises and rattling it. And biting people! That'd be the funnest thing ever!" she wiggled her butt and then returned to look at Wally, a devilish smile on her dark skinned face.
"Oooooh Wally, don't act like you didn't like it! You know it was the funnest thing ever!" She tugged at her loose scarf falling from her shoulders and nodded. "But I think my 2nd grade party was the best the world ever saw right Wally? Remember that?" she laughed and let go of him and skipped a few feet and twirling on her sneakers. "We played spin the bottle because of that movie we saw my older sister watching and wanted to try it. And you ended up landing on my little brother. HAHA! That was great. Good times." she stuck out her tongue and then skipped another few feet.
"Aight homie! You pick me up and we go plan something over lunch or something...Now I've gotta get home and explain to my sisters, brothers, mom, and dad that I'll be gone for a long time...They'll understand...not..." she sighed heavily and pulled at her corkscrewed hair. The frustration and stress finally showing through as she left. She never did anything to ruin any fun...she'd get over it eventually...
Getting into her Taurus she drove off, the squeel of her tires and the smell of burnt rubber staying behind her...as well as the blasting jazz.
((ALRIGHT off we go!...))

((I'm going to post the LONGEST REPLY YET!.. Cos I can... and Wally said some VERY HURTFUL THINGS! VEEERY HUUUURTFUL. I hope he's proud of himself *sniffs*))
As Peter had been trailing off to his car in the not so distant parking lot, he managed to catch Wally's words and as he stepped into his car (a thing that looked to be made out of scrap metal) he slammed his cardoor shut with an angry force and tore out of the parking lot. The young man was steeled with a sort of cool rage, but not so much was he angry with Wally, he said those kinds of things all the time, he was more angry with the fact that he had been right. He had just sat around in school, sleeping through his classes like he could have cared less. And he could have cared less... but now he wondered if having done all that, or having done nothing at all, meant he completely threw his life away... and now he was going to blow the little money he had for school on some trip.
"Way to go, Peter." He muttered to himself, while tugging at a handful of dirty blonde hair. "Genius as always."
As Peter turned hard into his driveway, he slammed on the breaks, pulled the keys out of the ignition, and leapt out of his car with a sort of burnt out rage. His sister, whom was sat upon the front porch, titled her head to one side and focused her attention onto him instead of the compact mirror she had open an inch from her face.
"Something wrong there, Petey?" She lilted from the steps, and uncrossed her legs. She raised a thin eyebrow.
Peter sort of half jumped and then scowled at her. "Why noooo, Jackie. There's NOTHING WRONG. What gave you THAT idea?" He spat out and stomped across the yellowing front lawn to plop down beside her on the porch steps. He rested his chin broodingly in his open palms.
Jackie raised her dark brows and closed her mirror. "Hooookay." She exhaled. "Glad to hear that, but anyways, my friends and I are meeting at the mall and guess who needs a ride?"
"Drive yourself." He replied without hesitation.
His sister half rolled her eyes and flicked her straightened hair over her small shoulder. "Well, you know, I WOULD, but I'm kinda only 14 and I don't think that's LEGAL."
"You got LEGS don't ya? WALK. Maybe you should hitch hike. I hear truckers love little 14 year olds. Especially helpless ones in mini skirts."
Jackie made a little scream of frustration and smacked her older brother with her tiny purse. Peter rolled his eyes and blew away the hair in his face. "You're not FUNNY, Peter!" She snapped back.
"Does it LOOK like I'm trying to be funny?" Peter asked of her, looking at her seriously for a moment. Then he shook his head and turned away. "Forget it. Ask dad to drive you or something."
"He's not HOME." She whined in earnest, and then slumped a little. "What's wrong, Pete?"
Peter gave her a look, but deciding he had nothing to lose he shrugged and asked her: "Do you think I threw my life away?"
Jackie fixed him a look with her dark eyes. "Threw your... life away?"
"Yeah!" Peter half shouted in an exasperated manner, throwing his hands out. "I... you know. You're the one who helped me make excuses about not applying for colleges remember...? Becuase I couldn't pick a major... because I wasn't very good at anything...?"
Jackie fell very quiet.
"Yeah." He breathed after a moment. "And I totally blew the ACT, remember? I got so nervous the night before that I didn't sleep... and then I fell asleep during the test..."
Jackie shifted about and snapped the heels of her flip fops. After a bit she responded quite simply: "No."
"No?" Peter asked of her with a slight smile.
"No!" She repeated. "You're only 18, Peter. Don't be so melodramatic." She huffed. "Gosh, you got the rest of your life... and you'll find something you're good at. You aren't a COMPLETE loser." She finished and crossed her arms against her chest.
Peter looked thoughtful for a moment, but then he grinned and kissed his sister atop her blonde head. "Thanks, kid." He stood up and walked through the front door. "But you can still drive yourself."
"PETER!" She shrieked in a hight pitched trill after him.
((Hahahaha, I love his sister for absolutely no reason.... and is Kiki gonna do that whole time skip thing?...? *just finishes up her post* I'M SURE SHE WILL, ZOMG! *drool*))
Eventually, after a lot of annoying persistence from his younger sister, Peter drove said annoyance to the mall, and returned home saying if she wanted a ride back, it wasn't going to be from him. Then Peter mulled about his home for a bit until his dad came home from work, and without beating around the bush he announced he was going on a road trip with the lot of friends he had hung out with in highschool. His father had seemed against the idea for awhile, and tried to convince him otherwise, but seeing his son's mind was set he shrugged his shoulders and had said: "It's your money and your life now, Petey. Just don't tell your mother."
And so Peter retreated to his room to decide what he needed to pack.
((THE END! And check out my long post. OH YEAH, BUDDY! *slinks off to do other things*))

"Mhmm, see you," he murmured to Nada absentmindedly. There was a double squeal of rubber on cement as both she and Peter headed off, as though they were practicing for the Indy-500. Wally waved a distracted farewell to Anna and headed to his car. It was a bit of a junker, but he'd bought it with his own money, and it got him around. That was all that really mattered.
He drove home, trying to wrap his brain about what, exactly, this whole thing was going to entail. It really felt like the whole thing could go awry, if anyone ended up in an argument with another. No privacy, no time to cool off... it could be a real friendship-wrecker. He wasn't fooled by the great stories they boasted in movies. This was dangerous territory to walk on, for inexperienced teens.
As he approached his home, he blinked. There was a car in the driveway. His mother's car. Hrrm.
He pulled in behind her and went in through the back door, into the kitchen. She was sitting at the table, sipping coffee and reading the paper.
He paused, and waited at the door a moment. A few seconds of silence passed before he decided to say something. "...Hi, Mom."
She blinked, and looked up from the paper, eyes half-lidded. "Oh, Wallace, you're home," she acknowledged idly, and returned to her paper.
Wally waited another moment, then left the room. It was a bit odd to see her home this time of day, but nothing to get excited over. They'd weaned him off of his attatchment to them shortly after he'd started high school.
He made his way up to his room, looked around, and pulled his suitcase out of his closet. Opening it, he made a face and shooed the spider living within off. He glanced around the room. He'd leave packing until later...
Back downstairs, Wally found his laptop on the coffee table. Booting it up, he sat back. Were the guys really up for this? It really just felt more like a gamble to head that far out, with no real motive but to hide from their issues. Maybe he shouldn't have done it... He should be prepping for Spring Semester applications...
He brought up Google Earth and looked over the area. Okay, so if they were heading up to the mountains, they'd need to take the highway up to...
"Wallace." He glanced up to his mother, at the living room door. "Where is it you decided on, again?" Her expression was blank, but he saw the sharpness of expectancy in her eyes. "I'm not sure if you ever told your father or I."
"Mm," he said simply, eyes reverting to the screen. He his heart quicken unsurely. He had barely even exchanged hellos with his parents for the last month... and hardly more than that since sophomore year. And even previous to that... well... "I... I d'no, I was thinking--"
She made a tight noise. "You don't know?" she repeated, a scandalized tone in her voice. "Wallace, I was sure you were actually planning to do something with your life. Don't tell me you're planning on just 'I-don't-knowing' your life away."
He closed his computer. "No, I know where I'm going. Don't worry." He stood.
She sniffed. "All right, then. So long as you're not planning on wasting any more of your time."
"Of course not."
She looked him over. He steadily kept his gaze on her. She sniffed again, and went back to the kitchen.
Wally stood a moment, then walked back to his room. For some reason, he suddenly felt as though he should pack now.
((Haha... it's hard to convey that he's scared of his parents, but he's not entirely aware of it. He's thick like that. *hug*))

((Haha Bob, Imma make Wally and Nada. "neighbors" Because I said so...not like next door though...so don't worry! :3 *grins* They can have known eachother for quite some time or whatever I suppose...Yes...not if you care though.))
Nada was parked in the drive for a long time. A few houses down the road she saw Wally pull in. Sighing heavily she looked back to her small, two story house. It wasn't the richest house, but not a dump either. JUST enough for six children and two parents. even if they did have to share rooms. Each room supplies three children.
She worried about dissappointing them. All her life she did what they wanted, let the load of work slide off their shoulders. They always had so much stuff to worry about. She guessed she was like the second mom of the house. Her siblings looked up to her and her parents depended on her. WHY oh WHY did she ever agree to going on with this thing? There were people who NEEDED her.
"Let's just get the disappointment over with..." she whispered to herself. After she saw Wally walk into his house down the street she quickly got out of the car and shut it, quietly, her mind dreading the guilt that she was about to go through.
She walked into the house and instantly there were three younger kids buzzing around her, two were of grade school age and one was Junior High.
"I need you to do my hair Nada!"
"Naaada! Come see mah paintin'!"
"Sis! Sis! I'm hungry!"
"Okay okay okay." Nada muttered and went into the kitchen. She got Preston a sandwich, with which he ran off into the living room and watched Power Rangers, she took Sandra's painting and hung it on the Fridge and then braided Chrissy's hair and allowed her to run off to play with their Neighbor's daughter.
That whole thing had taken thirty minutes from her time, and when she was about to get in the bathtub to try to relax, Billy came into the room wanting her to go drive him over to the skate park. Being the sister she was she took him over and drove back, another 1 hour and thirty minutes from her time.
Once again when she was about to get into the bath tub her mom came into the door and called for her.
"Nada! Sugar! Can you help me make some dinner? And where is Billy?"
"At the skate park." Nada said in the least excited voice possible for her...something hardly anyone heard except her siblings and parents. "Mom...there's something I want to ask you."
"What is it hun? You know you can talk to me about anything." her mom pulled out a large crock pot and some vegetables, which Nada began chopping.
"I want to go on a long trip with Rachel and everybody."
"How long?"
"...Pretty long..."
Her mother paused and turned off the water that was filling the pot. "Nada...I need you here, you take care of all the children, I depend on you so much. You know your father works late and all. You can't go, not now, not with all the children in school and needing attention with their homework and going places."
"I know Ma. But I need a break. I've gotten no time for my art, no time to try to apply to colleges or scholarships. What am I supposed to do with my life?"
"Help me. Your other friends aren't going to college."
"That's cause they don't NEED to or don't WANT to! I CAN'T!" her voice raised a bit, another awkward thing for her to do.
"Okay I understand but-"
"It's your fault I didn't get to go to college for my art career! You knew that was my dream and you ruined it by making me stay home!" She wasn't paying attention to the knife and cut her finger slightly, causing her to curse and shove it into her mouth.
"Nada...please...you know it's hard enough for us to worry about the others, but you?"
"Joseph and Myles got to go to college! WHY CAN'T I?!"
"We've already been through this. We don't have enough to-"
"I GOT SCHOLARSHIPS! THOSE COLLEGES WANT ME! MOM! THEY WANT ME! I DON'T NEED TO PAY!"
"Nada!"
"No mom...No...I'm going no matter what you say. Get Billy to watch over them, he's already 16." Nada stormed out the room, slammed her door shut and fell onto her bed, tears rolling down her cheeks. Her heart already felt heavy from the guilt and sadness that she saw her mom's eyes hold. She felt she had to do this though...if she didn't have college what DID she have?
Nothing but this full, stressful house. "I'm sorry Mom..." she whispered to the door, knowing her mom was still in the kitchen probably trying to quietly let go of the anger. She saw Sandra starring at her. Her little sister jumped onto the bed and hugged her tightly.
"Sissy...are you leaving?"
"Yeah Baby..." she mumured and rested her chin on her sister's head, silent tears from her eyes falling onto her sister's hair. "But I'll be back...and I'll call every day, I promise..."
"I think you'll be happy going..."
"What?"
"You need to leave. I don't think you be happy here anymore like you were before."
"Sandra..." Nada leaned back with a soft smile on her face. "You always know how to make a girl feel better. Want to help me pack and pick out clothes? How about you put some of your paintings in there too so I can show all the people I meet how great of an artist you are."
Sandra seemed thrilled by this and ran into their closet, pulling out loads of Nada's clothes and nada shoved them into her suitcase.
((Woo...okay...so that wasn't really exciting...but it gave you a look as to what she is really like underneath the caffinne and sugar highs...and natural highs...XD Only her close friends really know her like that...*nod nod*))

((I just watched Blazing Saddles the other night, and yar, man, thass gotta be THE best Mel Brooks film out there. THE BEST, man, the BEST. "My name is Jim, but most people call me... Jim." xD
Whew, time to type up an uber spiffeh post for Anna's big feet!))
"Tambourine!" Anna cried, giving Peter a thumbs-up. "See ya tomorrow, Petey-boy!" She waved as he left, and while she was contemplating over how to break the news to her parents, the others had all gotten up and left, leaving her sitting at the table by herself. Wrapping up leftovers for later, she eyed Rachel's money on the table. Fingering the wad of cash in her pocket, she decided she'd pay the girl back some other time.
She headed for the nearest bus stop, as her father had dropped her off since he wanted to after he got off from work. Bouncing on her heels when she stood beside the bench, Anna craned her neck to see if the bus was coming. No one was there, so she sat down, putting her feet up. Lying down, she stared up at the sky, at the lonely clouds floating by. It suddenly occurred to her that she'd need to get more of her pills for the road trip. She'd call the pharmacist when she got home.
Sitting up, she dug through her bag until she found what she was looking for. A slightly wrinkled photo of her and the gang, back in sophomore year. They were all in goofy poses, standing in front of their high school. Wrinkling her nose at her own surprised face, Anna pushed the piece of paper back into her bag. She'd found it last night and had intended to show this others, but it'd slipped her mind.
She hated forgetting things, but with her condition, it really couldn't be helped. The pills she took weren't as effective as they used to be, after her mind had built up some sort of immunity to them.
Everytime she would sit down to do her homework, her concentration would slip away from her in about ten minutes, and there was usually no one around to keep her in check, to remind her that her assignments were waiting patiently at her desk for her to finish them up. Her teachers understood- sort of- and would pardon her when her homework wasn't finished. Of course, it really didn't help when she was taking tests either. Anna's mind would begin to wander and she couldn't get it back to what she was supposed to be focusing on.
Attention Deficit Disorder, the doctor had told her parents when she was six or seven. She might have to suffer through it her whole life. Suffer.
The city bus pulled to a squeaky groan before her, the doors opening. Getting up, Anna inserted her ninety-five cents into the slot and went to sit in the back. Staring out the dirty window, she let her mind wander, blinking on and off to the idea of the road trip she would be soon be embarking off on.
((I'm not sure I used to word embark right... And I just made up what I could about ADD. I really know almost nothing about it.))

Work had moved by at a crawl the whole day, he blamed it on his sister. If only she had mentioned that Rachel had called about all of them meeting up that afternoon the night before. Or even after work. Knowing that everyone else was meeting up while he was working just made time go slower, especially when work was so slow.
Corey couldn't keep from glancing at the clock now and again as the day wore on, it was a shame to miss seeing those guys. When his shift at the bookstore ended he was out as fast as possible. It seemed as though the day was forcing him to wait, he had to wait for the nearest bus to come. Impatiently he shifted from one foot to the other, glancing at the watch on his large skinny wrists from time to time.
The bus ride was like every other- tedious and boring. Not truly very long, but long enough to be boring. As he exited the bus, Corey spared a grin for his anxiousness. It was a rather amusing event, but he let himself jog the block or so to his house. It was a small two story house. Two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and living room downstairs, and one bedroom and bathroom were shoved upstairs. Cramped, with seven of them, his parents and four younger siblings, but it was home.
It was relieving to find the house empty. His parents at work, his siblings all out at various places. Where, he didn't quite know, but there was no reason for them to be around home on a summer's day. Corey blinked in surprise as he caught sight of the flashing light on the answering machine. Someone had tried calling recently. With a slight frown, he shoved his glasses back up his nose, and peered at it, as though he was imagining things. Pushing the playback button, he wandered to the kitchen, listening as the machine spewed its crap before leaving the message.
Corey nearly hit his head on the roof of the refidgerator when Rachel's familiar voice filtered through the speakers. She had tried calling? Listening intently, he poured himself a glass of juice, drinking slowly. The others had decided to buy a cabin on the other side of the country and take a round trip there. Of course, Corey was coming along. The way she said it booked no argument that it would be otherwise, and it was crazy, but Corey saw no reason not to work. As the recording finished he spoke out loud, "It's so insane, it just might work."
Pacing, he drank his juice slowly, running a hand through his brown hair in thought. As was his habit when no one was around and, even when others were around, he spoke aloud. "To go or not to go, that is the question," he muttered, sparing himself a wry grin. "Of course, I've always wanted to travel across country. See what the ocean looks like on the other side of the United States. Maybe it'll be some other color..like purple, wouldn't that be amusing? What to do...one less mouth to feed and school, won't have to worry about not having my income at home. Freak out the parents, something every self respecting teenager should do at least once in their lives."
With a definite nod, Corey gulped down the rest of his juice, setting it on the counter with a nice clank. "I guess I'm sold on leaving in three days. Now what is to be done, yes...that is the question..." upon making his decision, he trailed off, blue eyes fixed outside the window for a moment. With a toss of his head, he sauntered to the room he and his brother shared. He'd have to see if there was anything worth bringing besides clothes...and then there was always that thing called discussion with parental units. And he'd have to delete that message from Rachel before anyone else heard it before they could talk to him...
((Hehe...if it's bad...yes...I played MESSIAH! And then I watched an hour of Lost...and then...yeah...OMG IT'S THE WEEKEND. And it's soooo busy. crying Sorry I kind of used your character Kiyura...if it's bad I can always edit it...yes yes, the power of the edit button...I need sleep...))

((Ahhh I have to post... BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO WRITE! *gurgles* Time to pull stuff out of my BUTT.))
Ava had only caught bits and pieces (mostly the end) of Wally's rant. SHe'd only realized he was worked up near the end of his speaking, and had to turn the radio down. A lot. But what she did catch wasn't exactly something to brighten the day. Wally was doing one of his 'reality throws' as Avalon had taken to calling them. And when he threw reality in their faces, it had a tendancy to sting... If not downright hurt. But, they all knew they needed that once in a while, and Wally was always there to provide.
Though, she had to admit, what she heard she didn't like. As true as most of it was, it still didn't change the fact she'd been avoiding hearing it for as long as physically possible. So, the short ride home was a little depressing (it didn't help that the radio seemingly decided it was emo band day), and it seemed the excitement of the whole thing was starting to wear off. Wally was right... Was this really what they planned on doing?
With a sigh, she pulled into the driveway behind her mother's SUV and ran a hand through her dark hair, taking a deep breath. She wasn't exactly sure how her parents would take it... And she really was in no mood to find out. Nevertheless, she HAD to find out one way or another, and decided that now was better than never. It was no use trying to hide anything from her mom anyway... THe woman was always into her business, whether she liked it or not. And the past few years, it was worry about this, wonder about that, and wish she could go back to being the little angel her mother was trying to raise.
When she walked into the house, she heard her mother and father talking in the living room, though when the door snapped shut, the conversation stopped and a chimey voice called out to her. Avy dear, are you home?"
"Yeah mom... Just got back..." With a sigh, she trod into the living room where her usually smiling mother and tired looking father were sitting, simply talking. They always made sure they had a few minutes of just talking every day. They said it kept their marriage going or something stupid like that.
"Good, did you have fun? You went to that restaurant down the street, right?" Avalon nodded. "Oh good. What was it Rachel wanted to see you guys about? She sounded quite excited... Such a cute girl."
Well, this was it. Avalon took a deep breath, let it out slowly, and said, "Yeah, her parents have this cabin up in the mountains they're selling. Rach got me and the old gang together to take a road trip down there, buy the cabin, and live there for a while." Her words fell on a silent room.
Though, the expressions on her parents faces were NOT what she had expected. Her father was grinning like an idiot and it looked like her mom might burst out into high-school-girl giggles at any moment. "Umm..."
"A road trip, Avalon?" Her father piped in, leaning forward, elbows resting on his knees. "I have always wanted to do something like that, but then life got in the way. In fact, your mother and I had planned one what was it hon, twenty years ago?"
"Twenty three, actually."
"Twenty-three years ago, and never got to go. I think that'd be a wonderful thing for you to do. Get out there, see the world... You're going to make a few bad choices, but hey, that's the best way to learn. We've done what we can for you, and actually we were just discussing how we should let you spread your wings a little. Get to know what the world's like."
Avalon could do nothing but stare stupidly at the two that had brought her into the world. Her mother gave a kind smile, "I know we've been strict with you, but I think this will be good for all three of us. Go on your trip." She gave a knowing smile. Obviously, they'd known about this thing before hand. "Maybe your father and I will take that trip we've always wanted too."
"Uhh... Okay..." Avalon muttered, gave each of them a distracted hug, and headed upstairs. She pulled a suitcase out of her messy closet, set it on the bed, grabbed her keys, and did a zombified walk out of the house, down the street, and across the neighborhood.
She hardly realized she'd made it to Peter's house. She'd been walking for a good hour, in complete shock. Her parents were supposed to have said no, were to be completely against it, not actually ENCOURAGE the idea. THere was something wrong with the world at the moment, and quite unsure what to feel, she'd ended up at her best friend's house and was knocking on the door. By the time she'd arrived, the sun was setting, and the warmth of the summer sun was retreating, leaving behind a calm, soft cool of a summer's night.
Why was she there? No idea. But she needed to talk to someone about that, and with what Wally had mentioned before Peter left, she had a gut feeling Petey needed to talk too. So, she waited a little impatiently for the door to open. She was second-guessing wanting to go at all, and needed to... She just needed to talk. And Petey listened. It always worked out.
((hahahaha NO IDEA WHERE THAT CAME FROM. But there it is. Woosh. *shrugs helplessly*))

((Hahaha, I swear to drunk I'm not God... *laughs at that everytime she sees it*... Just thought I'd mention o.o.))
Peter had been tormenting his little sister when the knock on the door sounded. Jackie had just returned from the mall only to find that her brother and father had ordered take out, and they had already eaten most of it... and by they, she meant Peter had eaten most of it.
"LET ME HAVE IT YOU BIG FAT LOSER!" She cried and leapt around her brother's feet. Her sparkly pink finger nails scratched at his arms and face and he batted her hands away and ran for the living room, a pizza box held high above his head.
"Maybe if you pay me for the gas you wasted on your trip to the mall!" He called back at her, leaping on the couch and holding her back with a foot on her forehead.
She shrieked in rage, still trying to get at her evil elder sibling. Their father remained in the kitchen, and hardly seemed bothered at all by their argument. Instead he pushed away from the counter and went to answer the door. When he pulled open the door he smiled at the familliar person standing there.
"Hey Avalon. Getting taller everyday." He remarked off handedly as an explosion of noise sounded behind him: little screams of rage and howling laughter, then a thunder clap as something hit the floor. "You want to come in?" He asked in a sort of distant voice and glanced over his shoulder. "PETER! AVALON'S HERE!"
There was another scurry of movement and next moment Peter was at the door, breathless and covered in little red welts. "Hey!" He said with a little laugh, and leaned aginst the doorframe. He tried to flatten his mussed hair as discreetly as possible.
HIs father shook his head, patted his son on the shoulder, and drifted back inside. Jackie's voice sounded from somewhere inside, complaining loudly to her dad that Peter should be punished.
Peter rolled his eyes a little and stepped outside, closing the door behind him. "What's up?" He questioned breezily, but then his eyes darkened and he looked a little more concerned. "You alright there, Ava?"
((hahaha, WOW. His sister and him act like... like... 4 year olds XD; ))

((Hahahhahaa, you're silly.))
Avalon barely heard the noise Peter and Jackie were creating. She was completely zoning out, halfway lost in her own thoughts, the other half completely not thinking at all.
When it was Peter's dad that answered, she gave him a distracted smile in return. "Yep, growin' like a weed, I'll tell ya what..." She blinked away her blank look and actually focused on the man standing in front of her, "Uhh, actually..." But Peter was called to the door, and that seemed about all the attention his dad was going to give.
"Hey." Avalon responded, taking it upon herself to plop down on the stoop. "Haha, no, I'm not alright... But you're looking a little confused yourself..." An opening to talk if he wanted to too. "My parents actually ENCOURAGED me to go. I think Hell might have frozen over... And with them wanting me to go, at the expense of sounding like a certain orange-haired, specticaled baby, I don't think it's such a good idea."
She gave a slightly insane sounding laugh and buried her head in her arms, which rested lightly on her bare knees. "IT all sounds too unreal... But enough about that. You seemed only a LOT upset when Wally went off on you... You doin' alright?"

((MWEEEEEE HEHEHEHE! I haff work in teh morning! WOOORKSESSSESESESSSS!))
Peter took it upon himself to settle beside his friend on the stoop, a slightly titled smile on his face with his dark eyes averted. "I'm over it." He responded in an even voice, a sort of well practiced expression on his face that would have told any of his closets friends that he was still bothered, but wouldn't mention it again.
"I... I just had one of those momentary lapses into actual reality, ya know?" He laughed, mostly at himself and swiped a hand through his mussed hair. "Nothing that can be fixed, only faced, right? When you're a loser, you're a loser. And BAH! Wally is just a big softie, I never take him seriously! But enough about me." He said changing the subject easily and fixing his eyes onto his slumped over friend. He bent at his middle to get to her level, a brow slightly raised.
"Your parents actually said YES? Now that... that is the funniest thing I've heard all day... and that includes what I said this morning about how hott you'd look in a bikini." He said in his best sarcastic voice. Peter's smile fell a little bit and in an easy movement he placed an arm around his friend's shoulders and shook her gently.
"Hey, listen here." He started, and pushed her back so that she sat up straight. "You may have beat me up in second grade, but you still gotta listen to what this big mouth of mine has to say." He stated in a mock serious voice, though his expression was quite uncharacteristically serious. "Wally may be right... maybe this is a bad idea. Hell! Every instinct I have is telling me to bust my a** here this summer and try to get into college next semester, but instincts... I never really trusted them. There is something else that is telling me this is the RIGHT thing to do. It's grabbing me right by my guts, and Ava, when you get something that grabs you right by your guts? You don't ignore that kind of thing... I don't want to be sitting somewhere else years from now wondering what if I have gone... I could FIND myself out there! Because I sure as hell don't know who the heck I am or where I am going in life. I WANT to make this mistake, if this is a mistake. Maybe this is what I have waited for. Something to wake me up."
He smiled that tilted smile again. "And if there is anyone I want to make this kinda mistake with, it's gotta be you guys." Peter then sunk down onto the ground before Ava so he could look her straight in the eye. "Avalon! What do you say? I know this sounds stupid... but I'm an idiot, alright?" He placed his hands on either of her shoulders. "Will you make the biggest mistake of your life with me?"
((Hhahahaha, he;s INSANE! INSANE! But I think the boy is desperate to find something he can do right XD; poor little man.))
