What I don't get is, if he runs the british guild, why did he separate english and scottish when trying to criticize Iain? The fact of the matter is that britain is in fact the island (s) consisting of england, scotland and wales. Now, personally I classify british people as people from britain, not people from england.
On the subject of pseudo-intellectual elitism, it's something that was a major trait of what used to be called 'middle class'. The people who believed themselves to be better than the working classes and so tried to separate themselves from them. In truth I despise people like this, because they try and represent the 'english attitude' or in other words 'keep a stiff upper lip'. This is in fact why people occasionally discriminate against the english, because people like you act like stuck-up bastards to them and so they generalize things and assume that all english people are like you.
