I actually hated Fullmetal Alchemist for some time because of the hype about it. I mean, it couldn't have been all that good, and I was a pretty elitist p***k. But I watched the first episode, and was so totally in love. I watched the whole series, cosplayed Riza Hawkeye, and even still love it.
The movie, Conquerer of Shamballa, I think wasn't as good as the series and missed the magic that made the television series what it is today. I'm glad that it tied a few loose ends, but it sadly left us guess. The OVAs were nice too.

hah. I had a similar reaction to FMA. I didn't want anything to do with it at first, then I was hooked the moment I watched that fateful episode...
I cosplay as Marda right now. on a different site, though. and you should really try watching the movie in a huge room with about 5000 screaming fans. (ahh...anicons are so much fun...)

@_@ Ew no, I'd rather watch the movie alone on the big screen in the family room. ^^ Easier to add myself to the adventure...bwa ha ha ha ha!! Not to mention horrid fangirls aren't talking about scene and characters left and right....

...it was actually dead silent until there was cheering for characters and laughter at appropriate times. amazing, isn't it? -w- but whatever works for you.
"put yourself in it"? huh? like...a fanfic?! ^o^ ooh, that's cool!! (I happen to do that anyways, no matter where I am...)

Yeah, I add my OC to the show. ^^ It makes it more excited, especially when you're favourite character isn't in the episode...helps you get through it (with the boring characters *coughKambeicough*).
D : Anyway, I haven't seen the movie...Maybe I should do that.

I hash the movie on my comp. in Japanese (Paku Romi does Edo's voice! Yays! Vic in English, and he rules too!!)
well, personally, I really liked the movie, but others hated it.

It was pretty good, the dubbing wasn't that bad

My friend got me completely hooked on FMA when she lent me her mangas. then i just had to watch all the episodes twisted

Sunrage be glad you read the magnas first I actually had some spoilers through that. I first saw the final dozen or so episodes and have only read vol. 3 of the magnas.
