The two-legger standing next to her bowed and as she studied the intricate carvings that decorated the room, she heard him mention a few words about studying and magic.
Was it possible to join if you had not been picked? She wondered. She listened half-heartedly as he went on explaining his achievements and so on and she wondered if she should just go. After all this Raia seemed to be intently absorbed in conversation with Megamickel, was it?
Well, no use hanging around she thought and turned around before a sheet of paper came flying into her hand. Raia caught her eye once before turning back to the other speaker.
Slipping out of the door Lykaios looked down at the sheet of paper. A schedule, along with her room number and location. Her fingers touched the her room number and suddenly the piece of paper began to glow. Stepping back startled, the sliver glow absorb her completely. She let out a frightened howl, what was happening and closed her eyes.
When she dared to open her eyes, the buzzing sensation was gone and she appeared to be in a room. She heaved a sigh of relief. It must have been a spell or something that would immediately transport her to the needed location.
But there was something else that still nagged at her. The spell, she'd been completely startled. More than anything else, she had been scared. That was a sign of weakness. She immediately made up her mind then and there, she would learn sorcery. She would master her fear and then it would no longer be there.
Taking a breath to settle herself she looked back down on the sheet of paper. The other locations were also glowing and she would experiment. Choosing the first one on her list of classes and she closed her eyes and steadied herself for the spell.
Phew, that was long... sweatdrop

He looks at Carley with a blank stare. "Are you speeking to me young miss?" he asks while leaning on the staff "Yes I am lost, though I am more a teacher than a student, I am looking for the Raia." He looks around" but it seams I have been at this very spot several times"

Raia nodded.
"I have no doubt that you will do well here, Megamickel. You will be at a disadvantage, being older, as you are, but age hardly matters when you are working with magic." She said.
You should know. Shriukans wicked humor broke into Raias train of thought.
I'm speaking with a student, Shriukan! Please! Raia thought furiously. Shriukan didn't answer, but she fell respectfully silent.
"As for weaponry, have you knowledge of any form of combat?" Raia asked, grabbing an empty schedule from inside her desk, and quickly scrawling a few words onto the empty boxes.

Tashi led Ariel through the continuous path of twists and turns. It was rather awkward. That is, the silence between them. Only their footsteps could be heard. Not quite sure what to say next, she began to simply babble on. "I'm sure you'll like it here, Ariel. That is a pretty name by the way... I had a map of the place a while back when I came here. I'm sure I could dig it up for you and bring it to your room; would you like it?" They began to clime a series of steps. "Watch your step..." A slender door could be seen at the top of the stairwell. "Not much farther now."

Ariel was at a complete loss as to how Tashi could find her way around these identical corridors. She could tell she made the older girl uncomfortable, but Tashi was still very nice. "Thank you." She said quietly, meaning the remark for all three of Tashies comments. "Any form of map of this place would be welcome. I don't think I will ever be able to find my way around here on my own."

This girl, child really, continued to amaze her. She had to realize how nervous Tashi was yet she didn't appear nervous herself. Tashi remembered the wreck she had been for the first full year she had been at Motar Gurr; she was absolutely sure this girl would adjust much more quickly judging by her attitude now. She nodded as the girl spoke, "It is confusing at first. But you figure it out" She grinned mischivously "Even it is only through trial and error" She pushed open the light door, stepping through and holding it open for Ariel. "Her office is just down this way." Her ears picked up the sound of two persons talking. She peeked around the corner, still holding the door, and saw the door of Raia's office open. "It looks like somebody is already here."

((FYI: My name is Ariel... It is kind of strange for me to be rping in a forum where someone's character shares my name... Eh. *shrugs* I suppose there is a first time for everything...))
A flash of silver is seen from the heights of Motar Gurr. A woman walks forward from a little-used forest pathway. The pathway is coming from the Eastern direction. The flash happened when Valencia first walked out of the cover of the trees. Her reflective silver hair reflects the sun just as well as the more metallic-appearing parts of her ensemble. So this is the school I have heard so much about... Valencia looks up at the magnificent spires and works of magnificent architecture, and she smiles. She appreciates the work put into the aesthetics of the building while still keeping it serviceable, but she is by no means awed by the place. A breeze picks up her hair, and she smiles, turning her head into the breeze. In doing so she looks directly towards the dragon hold, where the occasional slender scaled neck, or wing-tip will appear above the walls. A place where humanoids train each other to fly upon the backs of dragons. I may be of some use here. To help or to hinder I am as yet unsure...
Valencia walks forward with purposeful steps. She heads towards the dragon pens. No one stops her as she enters the hold. She seems to belong there, certainly not because of her appearance or attire, but because of her confidence. Someone coming to do harm would not enter so boldly. She walks through the 'halls' of the dragon hold, peeking into the dragon pens as she passes them. All the dragons seem to be in good health. Perhaps I should find the leader of this establishment. Valencia moves back out of the dragon hold, and as she leaves she walks up to one of the guards. She smiles kindly at him. "Hello! You wouldn't by any chance be able to direct me to the leader's office?"
The guard looks at her strangely, but not unkindly. He chuckles at her supposed naiveté, and at her strange clothing. "You are not from around here are you?" "No, I am not. I arrived to try to get a job teaching." The guard shakes his head as if he can not believe Valencia would teach here. What would she have to teach. Valencia waits patiently. "You will be looking for the head mistress then..." He then describes where to find Raia. "Thank you."
She smiles and waves at the kind guard as she makes her way to the school, and heads straight for the head mistress' office. She has immaculate short-term memory, and selective long-term memory. She gets it from her parents...
Valencia walks into the head mistress' office without knocking. She stands at the side of Raia's desk, waiting patiently for Raia to acknowledge her...

Megamickel nodded. "Ah... I do have some experience in swordsmanship, but it never was my field, and I'm not very strong in it... I do have this sword, though, forged by the mountain-dwelling elves of my home... It's saved me many times," he said, and unsheathed Anguriel, gently turning it around and offering it to Raia for her inspection.

Valencia smiles. Her hair lays over the pale skin of her shoulders, a veritable mirror of metallic strands. Her silver-grey eyes look over Megamickel's sword appraisingly. He seems to have taken good care of it. She smiles and watches patiently. Once Raia has finished with the student perhaps Valencia will be granted an audience, if not, Valencia can wait for a more opportune time.

Raia examined Megamickels sword with intrest.
"This is a fine sword, master Megamickel." Raia said at last, almost grinning as she looked over the sword. It was the unmistakable work of her own kin. She handed it back to is master hilt first.
Scribbling a few more tidy notes onto the empty scedual, she handed it to him.
"I will trust our swordsmasters judgement as to your level, and class placement." She said, handing the paper over to Megamickel.
As Megamickel left, Raia turned her attention to the silvery haired woman who had entered her office while she had been speaking with Megamickel.
"What can I do for you?" She asked politely, folding her hands under her chin.

"Well, my aunt is a teacher and so I came here early. I know every inch of this place. Come with me I'll take you to her office. If you don't mind, I will take you through some secret passages to cut down the time it takes." And with that, not waiting for a reply, she walked off, with grace unfitting of her age. She leads him off, around a few corners, then through a painting. Down a tight spiral staircase she lead him down into complete darkness. " You will want to watch it down here. The ceiling is very low. If you need to find your way, just hold onto the wall. I'll tell you where we must turn." They walked for a long while, until she called out of the darkness " Turn left." They came out into the light again, right in front of Raia's office. "Good bye." Carley said, and then glided off. cheese_whine

Myarra walked down the grand stairs. This castle had once belonged to her ancestors. Maps had been passed down through the family and she had studied and memorized the whole place, as had har neice, Carley. She rounded the corner as Carley left Raia's door. " Now don't you bother her. She is working. If you need somthing to do, Gwen's stall is dirty. You could clean it." Myarra scolded.
"I wasn't bothering her. I was escorting a teacher here. He was lost by the path that leads to the pond." was her response.

Valencia steps forward, so that she is standing next to Megamickel in front of Raia. She faces Raia and bows her head with a gesture of respect. Her silver hair falls forward in a stream of metallic sheen. As she moves her head back to its previous position she looks directly into Raia's eyes. "I have come because I am curious about this school. I wish to stay here for a time, but I have no use of the schooling. Do not misunderstand me, I am not commenting on the level of teaching here, It is only that I know much about dragons." After all I am one. "To pay for my board and living expenses I would teach. I am sure you would find me an adequate teacher for a variety of subjects. If you should choose to take advantage of my knowledge I would like to teach either Mechanics of Flight, or Draconic Special Abilities and How to Cultivate Them. I am well versed in Draconic History, but I would prefer not to teach that class unless you absolutely need me." That topic 'hits a little too close to home' as the saying goes... Valencia pauses for a moment and her expression becomes rather sombre. She is remembering a few reasons why history is not her favorite subject... After the slight pause she looks down, her silver hair falling into her face once more. "I can teach more than one subject if that is required..."

Carley skips up to Raia's door and knocks. Without waiting for Raia to tell her to come in, she opens the door. "Oops. Sory. I just wanted to chat." cheese_whine

He blasphemes his great hearing and follows the voices and shortly walks to Raia's door and waits. "Well for once my hearing came in handy." He stands there in the hall waiting for his turn to get info on his stay.
