Even as she felt Alec's comforting hand on the spikes running down the middle of her back she couldn't stop from just sitting there and crying. It was a good few moments before she finally said something. It was shakey and hard to make out between her sobs and quiet voice.
"I hate them... I hate them so much." She shook her large head with another sob. "I thought when I came here that at least I'd have a family now. People to watch over me and people to care for. People that would love me as much as I love them." She sniffed and took a deep breath, no tears in her yellow reptilian eyes.
"Yet they still take even that from me. The only thing I ever wanted. I thought that as long as I had a family, turning into a... LIZARD would be okay... Because I wouldn't be doing it alone." She choked out another sob, her head pressing up against the cold headstone that had her friend's name carved into it.

Alec looked on sadly as Amaya let her emotions boil over, not knowing what to say. Words were inadequate at this point, there was no point in trying. This realization made him cringe with the overwhelming pang of helpless that constantly tormented him after his recent change. Leaning over as far as he could in his wheelchair with as much determination as he could muster, he tried his hardest to curl his arms around as much of Amaya as he could reach. Albeit, the gesture had less impact than what he would've liked. With more motility he would've been less of a useless being.

"I hate them." She pounded her fist on the headstone. "I hate them." Amaya hissed, though calmed down when she felt Alec attempt to hug her. She didn't turn around to hug him back though, sobbing tearlessly into the headstone for a few more moments.
Though eventually she pulled away from it and turned her huge head to look back at Alec. Despite the fact not a single tear left her eyes, it was evident on how they looked she had been crying.

The edges of his toothy mouth wrinkled with concern as he looked back at her, still holding onto her sides as she turned herself around. For a moment he stared directly into her eyes, pools of glossy yellow tints that held much more emotion, much more meaning than a simple animal could ever hope to have. For a moment he was lost in them, unawares of their surroundings as his mouth slowly parted as if he meant to say something.
He abruptly broke the gaze, deliberately glancing over her shoulder as if something pertanent had caught his attention instead. His chest was tight, pulse quickened. It was time to leave. "Come on... le's go." His hands slipped away and he already began wheeling himself backwards.

The same thing happened to Amaya. She stared back at him, but instead of the normal shy girl one would expect her to be while staring down her crush's eyes, the world seemed too heavy around her - like it was closing in. When he finally pulled away she blinked and nodded.
"... Yeah." She looked down at her scaley legs for a moment before standing up and slowly following behind him, one last gaze looking at The Dude's headstone.

Alec focused on the patch ahead as he pushed his wheelchair through the forest, slightly disoriented still. He could hear that Amaya was following shortly behind so he didn't have to worry, and as usual the travel was in silence. He almost felt like telling her 'I told you so' with how many times he'd tried, subtly or not, to deter her from seeing the graveyard. Then again deep down he knew she had the right to know. Perhaps seeing it for herself now would give her somesort of closure?
Hopefully it wouldn't haunt her as much as it had him.
As they continued on back to the Village the sharkboy was suddenly reminded that he hadn't even spoken a word to Nathan while he was there, so as if the bull-man could hear if he thought hard enough, he resolved to come back another time.

As they drew closer to her duplex the girl thought about breaking the silence. Her muzzle opened as if she was about to say something... but then it closed. No point in saying anything right now, was there?
When they got to her duplex she walked up to her door and sighed. Yellow gaze looked back at him again... and she finally said what she meant to earlier. "Thanks... for showing me."
She opened her door, a clawed foot automatically blocking the way for a turkey as it tried to get out in a mess of gobbling and feathers.

Alec nodded silently, arms still poised to go into action as he sat outside her duplex. "Ye." He breathed, generally unfazed by the fowl ruccus(lawl pun). For a moment he looked as if he wa going to say something else but eventually gave in to the silence as his eyes drifted away from the doorway. "See ye." He meekly added and pivotted himself around to return to his own duplex.

"See ya." The lizard girl said before vanishing inside her duplex.
