I have written some, and no I haven't forgotten the guild. I've written about half of the next chapter. sweatdrop
It takes a long time for me to get chapters done because I don't want them to be some fangirly slosh just thrown together for the 'OMG' factor. I actually like taking the time to make this sound as far from a fanfic as possible.
In regards to your questions, I tried to combine the three most traumatic events of the story (one of which has yet to happen) into it. They are: the surgery (present), the death of Helena (past), and the other event (future). I wasn't really thinking about the flash on their site when I made it... it was kinda just happening as I was writing it...
The only thing I really did steal was the "If you feel you need to go, her image will keep you grounded" thing... because it does.
