"Nnnope. Sorry buddy. You bring it up you got to lead the song. It the simple law of Birthday Parties." Marshall said with a shrug, as if he had read The Great Big Book of Birthday Laws.

Seth casually walked over to the table, his wariness gone now.
"Heh, this isn't really a haircut anyway, but at least I still HAVE hair." He grinned. He glanced over at Gaius as Liamh motioned to him, and stared at him, his expression confused. Despite the fact he himself was a changed islander, he still could not get used to all the strange looking people here. He doubted he ever would...
Once Liamh had cut and diced up some cake to serve, he grabbed a plate and took some, retreating back away from the crowd a bit, heading for the collection of DVDs on the wall. He genuinely was happy for Liamh and wanted to wish him well for his birthday, but he also hadn't forgotten his original reason for coming to the Entertainment Room. With a grin, he began to check the wall, mulling over the titles, pondering which ones would be good to take first. He bit into the cake, immediately revelling in the intensified sweet flavour. Okay, maybe there were some good things about having been altered, sugar tasted stronger than ever.
His ears pricked up as people mentioned singing though. His tail drooped and he inched back towards the wall.
"Oh god, no." He protested. "Please, for the love of God. Don't sing."

Liamh smirked at Seth. "Yes, there shall be singing!" Digging up some extra crete paper and wrapping it turban-like around his head, he pulled up a chair in front of the table and sat backwards in it. "Okay then. Gaius! You brought the curse upon yourself. Better warm us up, man." he turned and jabbed a thumb at Marshall. "and you! You get to add in the extra lines. You know, smells like a monkey and all that. I shall have no less!" He struck an imperious pose, which looked markedly sillier with his lack of eyebrows.
If he cared, it really didn't show.

Gaius groaned, rolling his eyes. Whyyyyy? Oh well, at least it was only a silly birthday song. There were far worse things he could be forced to sing...
Clearing his throat, Gaius began...
"Happy Birthday to you..."
It wasn't a poor voice that made him hesitant. Quite the opposite. He was embarassed by the fact that, as a strong, macho, testosterone-filled man...
He had a beautiful tenor singing voice. Untrained, true, but his guilty pleasure was singing in the shower, or when he got caught up in his work... In private, it was fine. But in front of other people? Gaius' face flushed as he sang, hoping people wouldn't tease him for it.

Damn it, and just when Charlie thought he was out of the clear. Ah well, it would be fine. He could just mouth the words. There were enough people here so that no one could tell if he dropped out or not. Besides, him singing would just ruin it? Where was the good in that?
He didn't want to ruin Liamh's birthday. The man seemed to be having just to much fun. This place was depressing enough and those who stopped the merriment be damned.
Luckily the dark haired man who had been flatted to the ground earlier, by that eccentric little fellow was the one who would be starting them off. Oh, not bad...he was actually quite good and loud…
"....Happy birthday to you." Ok, maybe Charlie could sing just this once. If only for the spirit of it all.

Liamh leaned on the chair with his head tilted back a bit. He closed his eyes and listened, almost as if savoring it, however offkey the entire ensemble might be together.
It sounded.... good.
He opened his eyes again and actually joined in some of the choruses, directing with his fingers like a conductor, since he figured no one would throw him out for singing along at his own birthday.
"... aaaand i loooook like ooooone tooooo!...."
((Going to step out of RP for the night so i can shower before bed and work, but I'll be back tomorrow night. People can continue or not, however they like. biggrin Either way, love ya all! heart ))

Seth became rather still and rigid as Liamh wrapped the crepe paper around his head to make a sort-of mock turban. He felt rather silly after it was on his head, but he decided to leave it on. He was at a party afterall.
"No, no singing..." He grumbled, immediately noting now nice of a voice that the tall man with the long neck had. He gave up and joined in with his own version. His singing voice was quite lousy and off key, but he didn't care.
"Happy birthday to you; You belong in a zoo; 'Cause you look like a monkey; and you smell like one too!"
"Whew..." He sighed. "If that's the only singing, then that's alright then. For a second there, I thought you guys were going to sing karaoke or some crap like that." He shook his head for a moment. "I swear if I didn't know better, I'd say that 'karaoke' means 'I can't sing' in Japanese."
