Regardless of wether Magic is "Black or White," Wicca dose have a few rules that state that Wicca do not attack others, but can defend themselvs. Wicca do practice Witchcraft as part of thier path but they don't activly set out to harm others, its agenst thier code. So if some one says they practice "Dark Wicca," they aren't really Wicca. (unless of corse they are refering to crone magic and not "Harmfull Magic" Because as Starlock said "Black=/=Evil")

Magic to me is nether black nor white, it depends what the person using it dose with it that makes it good or bad.

Does this actually exist? are there actual spells that can harm people? ive been curious about this for a while because one of my friends has said she wanted to get into this type of wicca. so i guess my question is is it real and what does it consist of thats different to normal wicca?

Yes, it does exist and it is any magic that goes against the laws set forth in the book of shadows. It is magic with the intent to harm or destroy and it's verry serious. When I was younger and more wreckless I dabbled in it and what I have found is that all of my workings haunted me in later life in the form of a consciencce. I recomend that you warn your friend against this with all of your heart and soul.

I believe that you cant really use Magick for dark purposes and call yourself a wiccan. However you can use your magick for dark purposes and call yourself a Witch. Withes dont have to believe in the Reed and they dont have to believe in Karma. Therefore why not?

Excuse me? Witches do have a Rede and they believe in Karma. How can you say that? I know plenty of witches, just as I know plenty of wiccan witches. Would you like the Witches Rede.
Quote:
Hear now the word of the Witch,
the secrets once hid in the night,
When darkness was for protection,
We now bring forth in the light.

Mysteries of the Water and Fire,
The Earth and the wide-ranging Air,
By hidden Quintessence we know them,
and we bring honor in silence and fair.

The birth and rebirth of all Nature,
the passing of Winter and Spring,
We share with the life Universal,
rejoicing in the never-ending Ring

Four times in the year we give homage,
come forth the Witches are seen,
At Lammas and Candelas we're dancing,
so too on May Eve and old Halloween

When daytime and nighttime are equal,
when sun is at it's greatest and least,
The four lesser Sabbats are summoned,
again the Witches gather in feast.

Thirteen silver moons in a year,
thirteen to be the magikal array,
Thirteen times at Esbat we make merry,
for the work of the night and the day.

The knowledge has passed down the ages,
each time between woman and man
Each century unto the other,
old times since the ages began.

When drawn in the Magikal circle,
by sword or athame of light,
It's compass between two worlds opens,
in honor and love for this night.

Our world has no right to know it,
and the world beyond will tell naught,
The oldest of Gods are invoked there,
the great work of light's Magik is wrought.

For two are the mystical pillars,
that stand at the gate of the shrine,
And two are the powers of Nature,
the forms and the forces divine.

Do what thou wilt be the challenge,
so be it in love that harms none,
For this is the only commandment,
By wisdom of faith so let it be done.

Actually, not all Witches follow the rede, and not all of them believe in karma. You don't have to have any particular religious beliefs in order to practise witchcraft, as it is only a system not a religion.

That depends on who you talk to. In the early stages of the Wicca movment it was just refered to as Witchcraft with only a few people calling it Wicca. So to some people Witchcraft is a religion, it is mine. (although you are corect in saying that you don't have to have a particular religion.) To me a Witch is more then just someone who dose spells. A Witch is someone who is conected with nature and works tword harmany. Of corse, I could just think this because that is how I am. The only reason I don't call myself Wicca is becasue I've not been initiated by Wicca, there for I am a Witch. (although all Wiccans are witches too) In my experence people who get into witchcraft to hurt others will grow out of it and turn to something elts. In the meen time they do rack up a lot of bad Karma though.

magic is magic, pure and simple, what people do with it is another story however

If it supposedly 'exists,' it definitely isn't Wicca. I may not be a very good Wiccan in practice, but i do know that no harm should be done to anyone. by trying to harm someone, whether through magic or whatever, it definitely violates what Wicca stands for..

Not all witches necessarily know about/believe in this rede. Site your source for this please.

I consider myself a witch, and follow no rede. However, I do believe in Karma and analyze every situation before I consider using magic.

It really goes from person to person on how they do things. As people have said... magic is magic. How the person uses it (no matter their acclaimed religion) makes it "good" or "bad."

I totally agree, but magick in general can be used both ways to protect and destory and then you must enter the whole balance thing 2

I have discovered, when I became a Satanist, from the practice of Wicca, there are many dark spells, and the three fold law, exists if you expect it in your spell, you simply have to put, 'and no harm shall come to me' in it
