I think you're going abit too far with that statement Chibi. I think it's more the issue of not allowing people to realise they don't have to think a certain way, and that they need to be aware of everything around them, including their own thoughts.
Most people don't even know what their own thoughts travel like. It's sad and silly.
How else are you supposed to know where that plot bunny came from?

I still say the media is at least partially to blame. Have you seen all those movies where women are barely clothed? Also, the ones that portray groups differently?
Chibi's a pessimist when it comes to the government and the general population.

Chibi, you need to talk to a Montessorian. Maybe that'll help.
But I agree there are some media types which I don't agree with. Like I don't like Fruits Basket or Ouran for how they place the female main character.
Sure I can appreciate each character separate from the storyline, but I still don't like the story.

A wha?
I like Fruits Basket though not for the lead female character. ^^U I like the male characters and their curse. Yeah... As for Ouran, I've heard about it, but I've only read bits and pieces from the manga.

Montessorian, someone who believes in the teachings of Maria Montessori. Full of interesting stuff.
Especially about how one can develop further.
Ehh.. Google shows up all the associations... And I can't be botered to check if they include philosophy.. Read Wiki.
I feel kinda proud reading that article. Makes me feel special that I understand it and that I know it and I attend a Montessori highschool. But now you understand why I give concrit the way I do.

The odd thing is that I went to one of those for grade school, but I don't think they taught any of that. In fact, I can't remember much of what they taught us except how to read, math, Spanish, and science. Oh yeah, literature too.

Sorry, I can't be online as much as I would like to. I'm taking art lessons now, and trying to get stuff done at my house.

That sounds... weird Chibi.
But then again, there are all sorts of factions in Montessori. And there isn't a test for Montessori-ness so pretty much any school can call themselves Montessori.
They should have a binary bead chain.... That'd be interesting.

Bead chains are a Montessori piece of equipment. They're a chain of beads arranged in ten groups of 4 or whatever number the chain is supposed to be. They teach multiplication and they come with little tags you're supposed to put at 1, 4, 8, etc. There are also lengths, the number of beads on a wire (teaching tens), a square with the sides equaling the number (teaching hundreds), and a cube with the width, height, and depth equaling the number (teaching thousands). Those materials also teach measurement.
So don't you think a binary chain, with groups that represent binary numbers (1, 2, 4, 8, 16,) would be interesting? And then the tags would either be in binary or ordinary numbers.
Yes, I know I'm a nerd.

Ooooh, we had something like that, but we didn't use chains. They were something similar to an abicus. I can't spell that word, but the ancient calculator.

The bead frame/abacus? With 1's, 10's, 100's, 1000's, 10000's, 100000's?
I think I know what you're talking about.
