My school (Spring-Ford) played it last year Marching before I joined, they won Atlantic Coast Championships with it, which we successfully defended this year too with Armenian Dances Part 1 and part 2 (Ballad) by Mr. Reed this year, all of it rearranged but still pretty bad

We'd played it this year in my college Wind Ensemble, and we attempted to play it my junior year in high school, but everyone was still worn out from VMEA and we didn't do very much for that concert, and Russian Christmas music was one of the pieces that we dropped. The English Horn solo is so pretty, and it makes me want to learn how to play the English Horn. However, this song also made me realize how much I dislike my section--the top three chairs cannot count at all! stare

Ah, Russian Christmas Music! So beautiful! Makes me feel like I'm in a cathedral! I played it last year for our Winter concert! Too bad I sucked at playing it... ^^; Gah those 16th notes drove me crazy! It was fun to play though... It's a good thing to listen to on a cold night too... ^^

I've played this piece twice in the last two years - once for our Fall Concert and again about a year later for our Winter Concert (my university is split up into four quarters - Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer). Anyway, this piece isn't tooooo hard. It's got some difficult parts but nothing I couldn't handle. It's also got some good parts but overall, I hate this piece stressed

well...i thought it sounded like christmas died...not that that's a bad thing, just that it was so slow and funeral-like sounding.
