Play Date #7: Tail Envy (Simon)Fleur Fleur yawned and idly kicked his feet where he sat on the sidewalk bench outside the bakery, a box of donuts in his lap just begging to be eaten, but Fleur was a good skunk and would not lay a paw on them until he was allowed. Or at least until Chrysler returned so he could give her big doe eyes.
Chrysler had been gone for several minutes now, apparently picking up an order of parts for Stevie, but Fleur was not worried. He was used to her leaving him for up to an hour at a time. Stevie would balk if she ever found out, but Fleur saw no harm in it. No one ever bothered him, and he knew Chrysler did not like him getting underfoot even if it was accidental.
Fleur yawned once more and eyed the box of donuts in his lap. Maybe they would not miss one...

He's started growing his hair out, and right now it's about shoulder-length with his bangs framing his face, and his favorite outfit is now...incredibly girly (let's pretend that's a skunk tail). He seriously looks like a girl when he wears it. He went shopping and came home wearing that. The sandals are actually really cute with his furry paws, but the rest is taking some getting used to. Thankfully, he's stopped spraying perfume everywhere and so heavily thanks to one of the teachers helping him learn how to control his natural odor. Now it's just a spray or two a day which is much more bearable.
He was hospitalized for a few days following some sort of attack in the city while Chrysler was picking up some parts for me. He refuses to tell us exactly what happened or who did it (my only guess is he was mugged) which still infuriates me, but I'm not pushing it since I suspect he just wants to forget about it. He's more or less recovered physically now, but his left eye is still bandaged until some more of the swelling goes down. Before the mugging, he started wearing purple eye shadow for some reason, and he's still putting it on the eye that's not bandaged. Why, I have no idea, but he's feeling so crappy I'm not going to argue about that nor his taste in clothing. He's been a lot more pensive and nervous since it happened, and I'm hoping he wasn't completely traumatized and that he'll start behaving normally again soon.
He knitted a sweater for his dragon. It's really big, so I have no idea how well it will fit, but he's so excited to give it to his dragon I don't think it'll matter. He also bought an emerald pendant for her, refusing to listen to me when I tell him purple and green don't go together.

Dragon Informational Class (Silver)Perilas Coleman On the chalkboard he'd written: 'nonviolent', 'likes mountains and clouds', and 'hate injustice and cruelty'. Fleur Fleur paused in front of the door to his next class to catch his breath. After this class, he promised himself he was going to take a break to recover more. The ankle in its cast was really beginning to bother him from walking so much lately though it was apparently healing just fine as was his wrist. His eye was another story - he was told he might need glasses permanently depending on how extensive the damage was. For now, it was still bandaged shut, leaving him with only one eye to work with for at least another week.
Aube en Argent looked up at him worriedly and nuzzled his leg, chirping her concern. Fleur smiled down at her and scratched her chin. "I'm okay," he reassured her. She had only hatched a few days ago, but he already adored her. She was plain silver, a mix of his own black and white, but he thought she was gorgeous.
Having taken a moment to regain his composure, Fleur gave Argent one last stroke and opened the door a little ways to make sure this was even the right room.
Valens When a kid got a dragon normally they would end up exhausted with all that it took to take care of one of them, same with the parents. No so when it came to Valens instead it would seem it was the exact opposite... Poor Ellie was being driven to keep up with her boy, was being pushed to help keep him on track since he seemed to be unable to figure out his directions so they were always going on 'adventures' as Valens had started to call the times he was getting lost. Today was no different, Ellie had found the place first, listened in, sniffed at the door before going back to find Valens who trailed behind then ended up going down the wrong hall way. She caught hold of his hand in her mouth, not hard enough to hurt him just to lead him, and brought him to where the class was being held. Valens lifted a hand up to open the door and walked in, looking around before waving, "Hello!" Greeting the tall boy, Valens was already showing sights of his 'draft breed' size, almost five foot already and still growing.... he almost looked like one of the other kids were he not matched with a younger dragon who had sat down at his side, sighing in relief. They had made it Ellie thought to herself, then looked around. Ahh! Another dragon!? And not just another dragon but one that was a mirror image of her?! She pushed up from sitting down to walked over to look at Argent, then bowed her head in polite greeting. Valens of course was about the opposite, "Wait... PHIL! Is that you?!" He asked, excited, forgetting for a moment why he'd come here when he saw his friend from the candy shop and clip-clopped over to him. Perilas Coleman Peri smiled as the skunk boy entered. "Hello..." He greeted Fleur, noticing the boy's condition. But then another dragonet led in a rather large and older looking boy. But the dragon appeared the right age for his class and when he glanced at his notes, he saw that Valens was about the same age as his own son. Just much, much taller.
"Okay, then. We can go ahead and get started." Peri was rather used to these small class sizes, seeing how most of time this class was a solo one. This was one of those few classes where there were actually two kids. "We'll start off with any questions you might have..." Fleur Argent chirped at the new dragon and sniffed at her, surprised and delighted at seeing another dragon, especially one of her same species. She had not expected that at all. Fleur gave Valens a tired, one-eyed smile in greeting.
"Hi..." Fleur awkwardly reached into the messenger bag he always carried with him, reminded of something. He had been carrying it around with him ever since he finished it in the hopes that he would run into Valens again. "I finished your hat!" He held up a green and blue ski cap with a pompom of yarn on the top and ear flaps down the side, a bright red apple intricately knitted into the forehead of the cap. He had improved greatly in his knitting though not in time to spare Argent the humiliation of her purple sweater which was dragging along the floor and tripping her.
At Peri's question, Fleur drew his attention back to the instructor and asked the question which had been nagging at him ever since he first learned of his dragon's species, "Wh-What all can she do...? Can she breathe fire like in the books?"
Valens Valens' eyes widened a bit as he took in Fleur, he looked a bit beat up... he wondered what had happened but he was horribly distracted by the hat that the skunk boy took out of the bag. He looked it over then gave a happy sound, "Awesome!" He said instantly pulling it on. This was the coolest hat ever! It even had an apple on it, "Your the best Phil." He then turned to look over at the teacher when he asked about if they had any questions and he looked over at Fleur when he asked his, this only made the horse boy get horribly excited over the idea, "They can spit fire?" He asked, looking over at his dragon, "Ellie! Spit fire!" She blinked at him a couple of time, thinking on it... inhaled deeply then breathed out... nothing. Nope, no luck in making fire it would seem. Perilas_Coleman Peri chuckled at Ellie's attempt to breathe fire. "No, silvers don't breathe fire. They can use a frost attack instead." With a smile at Valens, Peri continued. "And they won't be able to use it until they get a bit older. They're still babies right now." Okay, so big babies with large teeth and claws, but still babies. Fleur "Oh..." Fleur drawled, trying to picture Argent coughing up ice cubes. "Is that all she'll be able to do? And what kinds of things do they usually like?" He desperately wanted to get Argent some presents other than the horrible sweater he knitted, but he had no idea what dragons were interested in.
Argent, meanwhile, was occupying herself smoothing out the fur of Fleur's broad tail, running her claws through it though she kept having to push up the sleeves of her sweater to keep it out of her way. She was rather aloof and did not see much point in learning about her species. She figured if she could do it, she would learn it by herself.
Valens "Frost attack." Valens mused looking over at Ellie who was sitting there half listening to what was being said and half watching the other silver dragon, tail swishing, "I heard that they like all kinds of food, will try anything given the chance. Does that mean should I learn to cook for her then?" A very odd question but he figured since he was supposed to be learning to take care of her it meant taking up odd jobs as well. Already Ellie was best friends with his mother who was Betty Crocker in disguise as a Mommy or so his father was always telling him. The Silver loved her cooking and his mother could cook a variety of things, maybe he could learn from her? Perilas Coleman "Well, silvers can also produce a paralyzing gas," Peri told the boys, looking at Fleur. "And, like most dragons, they like jewels, though silvers prefer jewelry over loose stones. Silvers can also learn to take the form of a human or elf as they get older. And they like the cold.""
The man's attention shifted over towards the horse boy and he grinned. "Yes, silvers love to try different types of foods and are always excited to try something new." Fleur That got Argent's attention. She could shapeshift?
Mirroring her enthusiasm despite his exhaustion, Fleur squeaked, "She can shapeshift? Can she turn into animals too, or just people?" Argent squeezed her eyes shut and tried to shift though she ended up just looking constipated. "And can she have chocolate? Bah says dogs shouldn't have chocolate, but I don't know about dragons...Argent, you look like you need a laxative."
Argent snapped her eyes back open and balked at that accusation, sulking.
Valens Valens filed the answer away as 'Yes, he should in fact learn to cook' before his mind was moving on to other things. Woah! Shapeshifting! Ellie was gonna be able to turn into other stuff when she got older for reals? He looked over at his Silver dragon with excitement in his eyes. Silver dragons were the coolest dragons ever he decided... even know he knew very little if anything about any other dragon. He was being biased he was sure but... it didn't matter. He could be since Ellie was his right? "What about the thing with the Red Dragons? Heard that Silver can't stand them. Should Phil and I not take classes with students that have Reds in them?" He asked of his teacher. Perilas Coleman Peri tried not to laugh at Argent's expression. "Just humanoid forms, I believe. They mostly stick to humans and elves, though the bronze dragon can shapeshift into small animals." He grinned and almost laughed, managing to stay in control. "And she can have chocolate. And most any other sweet." Heck, some dragons ate gemstones, so chocolate surely couldn't do any harm!
The man turned more serious at Valens' question. "While it's true that they don't like one another, it's usually because they're fighting for the same type of territory. Though some of that grudge could carry over genetically, I suppose." Okay, so Peri wasn't much into the science, but that could happen, right? "But, I don't think problems would arise much in the classroom. And I'm sure that if you told her that you frowned upon being mean towards other dragons, she'd listen." Fleur "Aw," Fleur drooped a little. He had been hoping Argent could learn to shift into brightly colored birds and other animals, but just because she was limited to humans did not mean he adored her any less. He perked up again at the assurance about chocolate though, looking down at his dragon. "Donuts on the way home?"
Argent beamed up at him and nodded vigorously, wiggling her rump in anticipation. She had gotten hold of a plain glazed one not too long ago, so she had been allowed to have those every so often, but now that Fleur knew she could have chocolate, he wanted to get her a chocolate-covered or filled one as a treat.
Fleur tilted his ears back when he registered Valens' question and Peri's response to it, and he asked, "What about leviathans?" He knew that shark boy's dragon was a leviathan just from asking around and wondered if he would have to hold Argent back from extracting revenge should they ever run into him. Argent rumbled in her throat, knowing why he asked that. As far as she, Stevie, and Chrysler were concerned, Simon needed to be taught a lesson though Fleur was content to just avoid ever seeing him again.
Valens Valens wondered if apples counted in the sweet catergory, they were sweet to him. Did that mean that Ellie would appreciate an apple as much as he did? He gave a bit of a grin, that sounded great! Maybe he could get them some after class was over? "I will keep an eye on her then." He told the teacher, while he would like to say he would stop her the dragon was rather strong for a little one. He could only hope that she didn't get it into her head that red dragons were bad and she needed to deal with them, what if they were bigger? What if Ellie got hurt because she was messing with one? He looked a little worried about that but he figured he could do his best to keep that from happening, good thing he was on the strong side he could maybe hold her back? Hrm... He looked over at Fleur, confused. He'd not read anything about Silvers not liking Leviathans, maybe Fleur had seen some books that he had missed? So he turned to look at the teacher to await his anwser. Perilas Coleman Peri was a bit puzzled at Fleur's question, but just passed it off as the boy being worried that maybe his dragon wouldn't like his friend's dragon. "Silvers and leviathans get along well, as far as I know. Their habitats don't overlap much in nature, as silvers prefer mountains and leviathans live in oceans, so there's no competition over territory." The man shrugged. Fleur "Oh..." It was not quite the answer he was hoping for, but then again, he was not sure what he was hoping for anyway. Instead, he reached down to scratch Argent's scales on one side of her mohawk-like fin to soothe her. He only had one more question, and he felt a little guilty for hogging the teacher's attention and not giving Valens a chance to ask any of his own, but Fleur was very curious and finally regaining a little of his self-confidence. "When will she be able to fly with me?" He asked in a way that made it seem as if he was anticipating it when, in fact, he was dreading it. He only recently discovered he had a terrible fear of heights and was not at all looking forward to having to fly with her.
Valens "Fly." Valens murmured then snapped his fingers, "Ah! Is it true that they make their lairs in clouds? Don't clouds float away how do they keep them from doing that? Or do they float off with them? They won't leave right?" A large rush of questions for the horse boy that made up for any time that Fleur might have hogged not that Valens had even seemed to noticed. He had a sudden worry that Ellie was going to leave and he didn't want that! Ellie looked over at her horse then leaned over to catch hold of his hand, gently of course to tug at it. She wanted to assure him that she wasn't going anywhere even if she couldn't yet tell him. After all without her who would keep him from getting lost? Perilas Coleman "Well, first you'll have to wait until she gets large enough to handle your weight. It'll be a while before you'll be able to, for she's rather young right now." The problem with that question was that the dragons seemed to grow at different rates and he couldn't just give a number.
Peri took Valens' question as a great opportunity to change the subject. "In a way, yes. Silvers can do something called cloud-walking, where they use magic to support themselves on clouds. I suppose they would drift away with the clouds, but they usually make their lairs on mountains so that they can store their treasure more easily." Fleur "Cloud walking?" Fleur repeated, blinking his unbandaged eye curiously. That sounded so neat, but...clouds were high in the sky which meant she would have to fly to get to them which meant Fleur would have to ride her. He looked ill at the thought but stiffly knelt down to scratch Argent's mohawk again, making her melt. He did not know if that was supposed to be a pleasure point for silver dragons the way belly scratching made dogs' legs kick, but it definitely did the trick for her, and she gained a blissful expression, leaning into his touch. At this point, Fleur was out of questions, so he let Valens take over with any other questions he might think of, content at this point to just listen and learn while loving on his new reptilian friend.
Valens Valens glanced over at Ellie again before he wrapped his arms aorund her, he wasn't going to let her go floating off on any silly clouds! Not that she would be able anytime soon since she would have to first fly to get to where the clouds were... none the less he didn't like the idea. Wait... mountains? "Ohh... so she would rather have a mountain lair." He mused. Ok, that was a little bit better at least that was something that he could get to right? He gave a happy sound and released Ellie who went to sitting back down and observing, "So! Anything else we need to worry about?" He asked of the teacher, curious about any other odd habits the dragon might have or things she may want to do. Perilas Coleman Peri thought for a moment. "No, not really..." He'd pretty much covered everything plus some. "Unless you two have any more questions, then I'm done," he added. Fleur "Okay," Fleur chirped, smiling up at Peri. "Thank you!" He was very pleased he had learned so much as was Argent, and he could not wait to get started in all of his classes learning more and more.
Valens Valens' ears flicked forwards and backwards as he thought on it, no... nothing that came to his mind, no more pressing questions or things that he thought that he needed to know. Maybe something more would come to him later? Maybe, maybe not one never knew with the way that his thoughts flittered around, "I've got nothing else." He said finally, grinning a bit. Ellie pushed up to her feet, stretching out all all over. It was sounding as if they were going to be getting ready to go so that meant taking her boy by the hand so that he would keep from wandering off and getting lost.

Play Date #8: Many Wonders to See (Chath)Chath Chath has paused outside a ...unmentionables shop. He blinked once and then twice wondering what kind of store this could be for? In the window display there were very high heeled shoes...or boots...and a manikin wearing a tight corsette. He never understood why women would want to wear such things, but there were many posters of women wearing them so they must be popular. He looked and noticed the sign saying open, but then noticed he was being watched.
Stepping back the clerk inside the store glared at him, apparently they didn't like window shoppers... But despite his nativity he was curious. What is the basis of this shop? just clothing for women? cosplay perhaps? He had wanted to find a gift for Ligeia...but ..he somehow doubted she would want a whip... a corsette...maybe she would want one of those? They looked so uncomfortable...and this shop did seemed aimed towards women... Fleur Fleur squealed as he hopped out of the shop two doors down, twirling happily in his new clothes. They were roomy and comfortable and definitely pretty. They were blue and purple, after all! The two best colors in the world! Aube en Argent, his silver dragon, was less than convinced, giving him an exasperated and rather unnerved look over as she exited the store after him.
The store was a women's clothing store - everything on this block was. Argent was beginning to debate the skunk boy's sanity even if he did look oddly good in this new outfit. What had the label said the tunic was? A "girl's gung xi top"? Whatever it was, it looked vaguely Japanese or Chinese, purple with gold trim and long, belled-out sleeves which extended to the tips of Fleur's black-furred fingers. A deep blue sarong wrapped around his waist and flowed with each step and twirl he took. The tag said it was a sarong - it looked more like a long, flowing skirt to Argent, especially combined with the winged "gift of the goddess" sandals he had bought to complete the ensemble.
The whole ensemble was horrendously expensive not that Stevie would care - she was grotesquely rich, after all. Argent's only problem was the overall look. It was, indeed, very pretty on Fleur, making his black and white face stand out as well as his white hair, but the colors, sarong/skirt, Fleur's orange-scented perfume, and the fact that the skunk boy was beginning to let his white hair grow out all combined to form only one impression.
...he looks like a girl, she grumbled inwardly.
Chath Chath tried not to stare into the shop again and instead distracted himself by looking the pair walking down the street and towards him. A silver dragon trailed in their wake, which reminded him....
He looked around and then spotted Kier chewing on the corner of a wooden bench and was quickly turning the thing into toothpicks.
"Kier! Stop that!" he hissed at the black who only stopped becuase he smelt another dragon nearby. Spitting out the larger chunks of wood that was in his jaws teh black rose stretched and let out a flap of his wings before moving to Chath's side.
Chath looked to the bench a look of horror written across his face. He was too honest to just leave it like that...but what could he do? Forcing himself to think of something else he would come back to the bench later.
"Excuse me!" He held a hand up to wave down the trio coming towards them. "Um I just have a question." he continued trying not to be too rude. Fleur Fleur perked his ears up, coming out of his girlish twirling when he heard a voice calling someone. Since he saw no one else but the boy two doors down, he assumed he was the one calling and Fleur was the one he was addressing. "Yes?" the skunk replied, merrily skipping closer so he would not have to raise his voice, tail swaying up and down as he did so.
Argent sighed and trotted after him, worn out already. It was so strange the way her boy became excited over silly things such as clothing, but she supposed she could not fault him too much. As a silver, her interest lay in jewelry if the large emerald pendant around her neck was any indication. To anyone who did not already know Fleur, they looked like a pair of girls in the middle of a day of shopping, so Argent decided to quit sighing and just go with it for now. If only the bandage over Fleur's eye was ready to come off, then he really would be quite pretty.
Argent distracted herself by blinking at what was left of the bench, only then noticing the black dragon with the other boy. She frowned at the behavior but supposed not all dragons could be as perfect as she. Fleur was completely oblivious, his attention focused on the other boy who had called him.
Chath Um. Chath couldn't believe his luck. A girl! Great, cause now he really could get the help he needed.
"Er...thanks for stopping, I was wondering...it may be a bit of an awkward question, maybe even a strange one, but ..I was wondering if you could help me pick out a gift. I am a bit lost.." Chat explained feeling a bit embaressed about the subject.
Kier fixed his deep gaze on the silver Dragon who was with the skunk child. Kier never understood the point of carrying your horde with you. he had his stashed away in a secret place at home...why trudge it around? It was like dragons were asking for the precious jems and jewels to be stolen.
The black being a bit older than the silver was still small though approximately close to the silver's size. He stopped just a few paces from her, staring, a toothy grin escaping a moment before he sat down and looked rather serious and ....all knowing. Fleur "Oh!" Fleur smiled, his tail perking up. "Sure - what did you have in mind?" Fleur loved picking out gifts. His taste in them was questionable since he still saw no difference between appropriate gifts for boys and appropriate gifts for girls (if his current choice in clothing was any indication), but he loved it nonetheless. After all, picking out gifts meant shopping!
Argent frowned at the black dragon's expression and turned her nose up haughtily. She had no idea why he was looking at her like that, but she was not about to let him know it bothered her. Instead, she glanced up at Fleur, exasperated once more. More shopping?
Chath Chath looked relieved that the girl didn't seem offended or weirded out by his request. "Well you see i am trying to pick a gift out for a girl I know fairly well. . ." he trailed off and then waved a hand in dismissal. "Well...she is a good friend of mine. and she has helped me out a lot so i want to get her a thank you present. But I really have no idea what to get her." he concluded with a muffled cough of embarassment.
Kier looked amused as he was now being ignored. He stood and then moved to sit inches away from her. Nearly nose to nose. Why did he seem to want to be a pest today? No that raelly wasn't it. He didn't like being ignored, he was far more important than this lil silver. Fleur "Ohh," Fleur drawled, thinking about that. "Well, the first question is how much you can spend." Fleur twitched his black ears, reminding himself that not everyone could spend as much as they liked unlike himself. "Girls love jewelry if you can afford that! Flowers are always nice too." He smiled sweetly, quietly hoping the boy asked him to come along to shop.
Argent looked back away from Fleur only to yip slightly when she noticed the black dragon was so close. She narrowed her eyes and nipped at his nose, not aiming to actually connect, only to show she was not at all happy with his close proximity but too stubborn to move.
Chath Chath thought on that...how much did he want to spend on Ligeia? "Umm...i could probably get her a necklace..." he murmured thinking to his wallet and how Kier nearly emptied it wanting treats. But a necklace should be doable.
"your the same colors as her, so maybe we can get something that will match?" he asked having no idea if girls liked to have their jewlery match or not. He had only recently gotten to be good friends with Ligeia, so he wasn't too sure what she would like.
Kier nearly gave a laugh at the n** and raised a clawd paw and pawed the air in front of himself like a dog trying to push something invisible out of the way. He never touched the silver, but he could tell he was annoying her. Perfect. Fleur "The same colors as me?" Fleur repeated, surprised. Who could that be? Not that it mattered. "If she's anything like me, she'll like bright colors. Black and white can be so boring." Granted, that was his opinion, but Chath, unfortunately, was victim to his reasoning for now. "I know a good place a block that way with nice necklaces at good prices!" Fleur beamed, happy to both be able to help and to be able to shop some more.
Argent puffed up and let out a long hiss, sounding not unlike an enraged tea kettle, a fact which did not go unnoticed by her boy, much to her dismay.
"You sound like Chrysler's tea kettle," Fleur needlessly pointed out, making Argent puff up again, now not only being antagonized by the other dragon but embarrassed in front of it by her boy.
Chath Chath nodded his head and wondered if this was true. He...never really noticed Ligeia wearing bright colors...but then again..maybe she needed some?
"..Ok.ay..bright colors. got it." he confirmed with a nod of his head, before looking down the street to where Fleur was talking about. "right...my name is Chath!" he hastily introduced himself, "and this is my black dragon Kier." he continued with a general wave in the black's direction.
He gave Kier a glare when he noticed he was bugging the poor silver. but knew it useless to lecture at this point.
Kier gave a dragon like laugh, that sounded more like a wet hiss and he puffed up his chest to imitate the silver, flapping his wings he stood and his tail lashed from side to side, like a cat who couldn't wait to pounce. Fleur "I'm Fleur!" the skunk replied, much more sociable nowadays than he used to be. "This is Aube en Argent - it's French for Silver Dawn." Fleur was proud of himself for coming up with such a pretty name even if it was just a tad redundant calling a silver Silver. "Do you know what color her eyes are?" Fleur asked, having gotten introductions out of the way. "Something that matches her eyes would probably be really nice!"
Trying her absolute best to ignore the black dragon, Argent looked away from him with a roll of her eyes and stuck her nose in the air again. She hoped they started moving soon so she could put her boy between herself and the offending dragon. If all dragons were this annoying, she hoped she did not meet many of them.
Chath Fleur? Pretty name. He followed the skunk girl and nodded his head to the silver dragon's name. He attempted to remembver Keir's name. It was long...his mother had come up with it.
"Keir's full name is Keir' Tabansi, I believe it means dark-skinned the one who endures." he continued thinking he was pretty close to the original meaning anyway.
Eyes? Color? Now that he thought about it...he wasn't sure. "Um...I think her eyes are really dark...like almost black." he continued keeping in pace with Fleur.
Kier trotted ahead to make sure he was a step ahead of everyone, including the silver.
Losing patience darling? Keir asked with a smug expression on his dragonic face. Fleur "Ooh, that's neat!" the skunk responded. He had hoped he was not the only one who thought so hard about a name for his dragon, and it was a relief to hear of another with a meaningful name.
"Black? Oh," Fleur thought about that. If they wanted to get something bright, black simply would not do. "Blue is a good color to go with black. So's green." Fleur frowned as he thought about that. "Actually, anything goes with black except brown...but I think blue, purple, and green look best." He was completely ignoring his poor dragon at this point, too wrapped up in trying to figure out the perfect gift for Chath's friend. "Ohh! Scarves are nice too!" he squeaked, remembering that the store they were going to also sold decorative scarves which could be worn all year round, not just in the winter. "And they're cheaper than necklaces, so you can look at those too!"
Hmph! Argent once again stuck her nose in the air and did her best to put Fleur between herself and Keir. Darling? How dare he! Even Fleur did not call her that. Sure, he called her many other embarrassing nicknames like Aubey, Dawnie, and Wiggle Butt, but that was different!
Chath Chath just listened, since he was not an expert on the topic he was sure glad he found someone who seemed to know these sort of things.
"Ah! She does wear a lot of blues and whites." He commented thinking about the last time he had met with her, " She is an....bird type d-corp chlid, you think a scarf would get in her way while she flew?" Chath asked but then recalled old fashion pilots use to wear long scarves while they flew in their planes....maybe it would be ok.
Keir was having a fun time. This was much more interesting than destroying that bench. Tell me silver jewel, how does the sun shine when you are not around? he asked using flattery to throw her off guard. Fleur Fleur shook his head. "I don't think so - decorative scarves are short and shouldn't get in the way of her wings," he assured Chath. "And this place has a lot of pretty blue ones~" Fleur beamed and looked up when they reached the store. "Here we are!" The scarves he mentioned were the first things they saw when they entered, made of silk, satin, cotton, and many other materials, some see-through and some not. With the scarves were some pretty hats, a few with broad, decorative feathers adorning them. The jewelry was further in, but Fleur stopped to look at the scarves first, estimating these were more in Chath's price range.
Argent turned with Fleur to enter the store, her nose still in the air. She liked to think she was smarter than to fall for a little flattery after he had been so rude already. I don't know about when I'm not around, but it's certainly brighter when you're not, she huffed, not caring that she was being rude too - as childish an excuse as it was, he started it.
Chath He nodded his head again, still feeling out of place in this store though he tried to remain attentive while they looked at the scarves. There were so many styles and colors...his head spun. How was he suppose to narrow it down?
"um...so, do you think she might like a see through one? or perhaps this one with..beads on it?" he asked picking up a scarf that was a bit heavier, and gradiated from a light blue to dark, small iridescent beads threaded through the bottom. He really had no idea..
Keir was not in the least offended in fact he took her comment as a compliment. I am a black dragon, I drain the sun raise turning the world into a dark and dreary place, and will turn the world to ash someday. He boasted with a flare of his wings. Fleur Fleur's deep blue eyes lit up when Chath picked out the scarf, and he squealed, "That one's gorgeous! I'm sure she'd love that one!" He held up a pale lavender, solid scarf which was woven with intricate silver and gold thread in the designs of flowers and butterflies, the wings of the butterflies studded with iridescent sequins. "This one's pretty too, but if she wears a lot of blue, that one you picked out might look better." Fleur nodded, debating buying the purple one for himself if Chath did not get it.
Argent's eye twitched faintly when she realized her mistake before huffing, trying to counter the unwitting compliment. And what would happen to your boy with no sunlight and nothing but ash all around him? Or do you not care for him at all?
Chath Chath couldn't believe his luck as Fleur praised the scarf he picked out. He felt a bit embarrassed and yet kept the scarf close to him. "You really think she would like it?" he asked knowing full well this was an unfair question to ask since Fleur had never met the snowy owl girl.
He looked to the purple scarf that Fleur seemed to be gawking over and shook his head, no that one didn't suit Ligeia.
"That would look nice on you." He chimed trying to keep the shopping pleasant. It was really nice of her to help him.
Keir puffed his chest up in pride and for the first time in history complimented Chath.
He adapts easily to most situations, so as long as there is water he will be great. He boasted, knowing full well that if Chath could put up with him he could adapt to anything. Fleur Fleur nodded, beaming. "It's pretty!" he agreed. "I can't imagine why she wouldn't like it." Fleur blushed under his black fur at Chath's compliment though it was only visible under the white V on his face. "You think so?" he asked, wrapping the purple scarf around his neck to compare it to his new clothes. A scarf or even a bag would be perfect to compliment it...but he was getting ahead of himself - he was here to help Chath!
"How much is that?" he asked, looking for a price tag on the blue scarf. "Maybe you can get a purse or a pretty bracelet to go with it!"
Argent rolled her eyes. And how will there be water with the world turned into ash? She shook her head and gave Fleur an exasperated look at his constant squeaks of excitement. She sometimes wondered if he got excited over anything purple and made a mental note to try it with a purple beetle sometime.
Chath Chath looked over the scarf and finally found the price tag. It was more expensive that he had originally thought, but then again he had no idea if this ws a good or bad price for a scarf. He could afford it though. A bracelet would be a good idea as well.
"Um it isn't too expensive, I think a bracelet is a good idea too." He stated with a nod of his head. He calculated he should have enough for both items. He watched as Fleur put in the scarf and wondered if all girls...wait no..he already knew the answer to that question. Z didn't care much about clothes at all...
The black dragon snorted at her comment as if thinking she was stupid. You can't turn water to ash darling, I cannot breath fire so water would be perfectly fine in my new world. he continued with swish of his tail. Fleur "There are some really pretty bracelets over here with the necklaces," Fleur stated, going over to the jewelry counter to look at the bracelets and compare them to the scarf. He found a very pretty silver tennis bracelet with a large blue topaz in the center and flanked by peridots, but it was very expensive, so he looked for others similar as well as necklaces, determined to help Chath find the perfect one.
Argent shook her head. And if you can't breathe fire, then how do you expect to turn the world to ash in the first place? She yawned and slid down over the floor lazily, using her front claws as a cushion for her head as if bored with the conversation though she never let Fleur out of her sight.
Chath Chath followed Fleur like a duckling. He really had no idea what was best, and just pretended to know what he was looking for while he shopped with Fleur. he was relying on Fleur's girlish instincts to help him out on this one.
"That is pretty." he commented on the expensive looking bracelet Fleur had been gazing at. One look at the price though and his head swam.
"Though maybe a bit too much." He added hastily.
Keir looked at the Silver again like she was moronic. Acid burns things and thus will turns things to ash eventually my dear. he commented smugly. Fleur Fleur tilted his head and twitched his ears before offering, "I could pay for it!" He smiled. He was sorely tempted to get himself something to go with the purple scarf anyway, and Stevie honestly did not care what he spent his money on as long as it was not candy or anything else bad for him. He had plenty of money to spend and certainly did not mind paying for things for other people. "Then you could get some pretty flowers or something too!"
Acid melts everything and leaves nothing but smoke, and your boy would still need food even if he has water. Argent gave an exaggerated yawn and forced herself to stand back up to keep up with her own bouncing boy/girl-wannabe.
Chath Eh??? The surprised look on Chath gave away his calmish manner. "Uh no no you don't need to offer!" he quickly added, " I can afford it, I am just..." Er...he stopped for a moment and then looked back at the bracelet. It was really pretty. And would look really nice on Ligeia.
"She isn't my girlfriend.." He added unneedingly. It was like he was trying to come up with a reason to not buy it. "I don't want...her..to mistake.." he continued with a stutter. Ah...how did he feel about Ligeia? She was older than him....was that okay? He hadn't really hadn't thought much about girls in that way.
He then sighed and seemed to wilt a bit. "I will take the bracelet." he instructed to the clerk behind the jewelry counter.
Keir got up to follow behind Argent, before taking a couple strides to come up beside her. I guess I could leave part of the world un-ashed. He commented as if not wanting common sense to come into his dream. Fleur Fleur beamed, happy. "It's okay - I love shopping, and if I can buy stuff for other people, that's even better!" he stated with a nod then put his purple scarf on the counter as well. "I'm paying for the bracelet and this and this hair clip for me." He pointed to a silver, butterfly-shaped hair clip studded with sapphires and got out Stevie's credit card. Thankfully, this store was used to him and knew he had full consent from his guardian to use the card, else they might have been leery of a 12-year-old paying that way.
I should hope so. Argent hid an amused look, satisfied she had won the argument, and hopped up on her back feet to see what else her boy was wasting his money on. She looked crestfallen at the hair clip and began wondering just how far Fleur was going to go to look like a girl...or if he even realized what he was doing. She knew Chath must think he was a she.
Chath Chath was embarrassed he couldn't let this girl pay for him! he just met her!
"No no it isn't a problem. I can pay for my items myself." he explained hastily trying to move his items aside so that Fleur didn't end up charing the items to the visa card.
"Cause ..it would be like you were getting the gift for her instead of me." he continued trying not to hurt the poor skunks feelings but he certainly wanted to get his point across.
As if picking up on the silver's thoughts the black gave a snickering half laugh. My boy is fairly oblivious...the gift he is buying is for a boy as well. Though he thinks the boy is a girl.... Fleur "Aww." Fleur drooped a little, but he supposed he should not be pushy about it. If Chath really did not want him to pay for it, that was his right, and he did have a point. "Okay." He made sure to get himself the scarf and hair clip though, perking up again when he thought of how pretty the butterflies would be in his white hair. "Did you need to pick out anything else?" he asked. He could think of many things to go with the ensemble - flowers, chocolate...but that was up to Chath, and the bracelet was expensive. Maybe he would let Fleur at least pay for some flowers if he wanted to get some?
Argent let out an exasperated sigh, actually thankful the black dragon was not as easily fooled as his boy. She was beginning to wonder if Fleur's appearance really was that convincing. It can be very frustrating, she admitted. I honestly don't know why he's dressing this way lately. Sure, she was high on looks and vanity and certainly appreciated how pretty the things he picked out were, but...he was a he, and as far as she was concerned, he should act and dress like a he too!
Chath Chath smiled at Fleur feeling a bit mean, but was glad that she didn't insist.
"Uh? anything else? I guess I could get it wrapped.." he stated looking at his purchase and knowing his allowance was going to be mighty thin for a while.
"Why don't we go for a treat instead? I will treat you to a strawberry tart, since you were so great in helping me." he offered trying to get them out of the store, having a sneaky feeling if they stayed any longer Fleur would keep buying things.
The black gave a draconic laugh. Imagine having to deal with a child who is so oblivious to the obvious it hurts to watch him... He sighed, he needed to to learn human faster...but then it only served his boy right. If he couldn't figure it out on his own then he deserved to be deceived. Fleur "Oh, that would be good too!" Fleur squeaked, spirits instantly lifted again. He was actually thinking of going to the donut shop nearby after shopping anyway, so this was just perfect. He paused quickly to thank the cashier and put his pretty new hair clip in his hair just next to one ear before beaming at Chath, assuming he had a place in particular in mind.
Argent sighed again. I sometimes wonder if Fleur is like that. No common sense at all. She shook her head. And he's starting to develop this very strange obsession with other people's tails... She was afraid he was going to be slapped for it one day, but she could not very well warn him when she still could not speak his language yet.
Chath Chath gave a smile, pure and simple. "That looks really cute on you." He commented as he then purchased his own two items, twitching only slightly at the cost before paying up.
"I know a great little cafe that sells these really big tarts. You want to go?" He asked reconfirming that Fleur did actually want to go. He turned picking up his plastic bag with the gifts he bought for Ligeia and started out of the shop. His long newt like tail swaying as he moved, he looked over his shoulder and to Fleur. "Coming?"
Keir sighed, I am surprised your lil one hasn't tried anything with my red skin's tail... And it was odd but for some reason now finding a common ground with Argent he didn't feel like teasing her anymore...it was like they had more in common that he would of liked to admit. Fleur Fleur melted a little at the compliment, blushing again under his white-striped fur. "Thank you," he responded with a smile, his ears twitching. "Yes, I'd love to go!" Sweets were just the thing to top off a great day of shopping, and he waited for Chath to lead the way before merrily following him. He was not oblivious to what was swaying between them though, and his eyes glazed over a little as he batted at it like a cat as they walked, hypnotized.
Argent hid her face in her claws upon seeing this and shook her head with defeat. Apparently he was too distracted by pretty things at first... She had actually hoped Fleur had not noticed the other boy's tail, but she was not so lucky. I give him another month before he starts playing grabass with Chrysler's...and she'll burn his own off if he tries.
Chath Chath oblivious to Fleur's tail obsession continued moving forward in the direction of the cafe. It served all sorts of treats, not just bakery items. though that was the best aspect of it.
Quickly going through how much money he had spent he gathered he would only be able to buy the tart for Fleur. But that was enough right? The cafe came into view, a cute Italian looking place and since the weather was nice outside had tables and chairs ready and waiting for customers to sit down.
The sweet smell of pastry wafted through the air as they neared. "Here we are."
Keir had to hold back a draconic laugh. He was liking Argent more, at least she could understand his problem as well he cuold understand hers. Fleur Fleur let out a squeak when they got closer to the cafe, finally tearing his gaze from Chath's tail and looking around with immense curiosity. He had never been here before, and he quickly made a mental note of its location so he could come back another day. He always loved finding new places to either shop or treat himself or Argent, and maybe this place had some goodies he could take back to Chrysler and Stevie. "It smells great!" he purred. "Can we sit outside?"
I don't know what he loves more...sweets, bright colors, or tails. Argent rolled her eyes with a sigh. Frustrating as her boy was though, she still adored him. She could just do without some of his habits.
Chath Chath nodded his head. "Sure why don't you go pick out a table while I go get the treats?" He said as he was already on his way into the store. One strawberry tart would fit the bill. Unfortunately he couldn't get anything for the dragons as well. Which was too bad.
"You did say you liked strawberry tarts right?" he inquired once more before entering the establishment.
Keir gave a draconic smile and once they had arrived at the cafe sat down. He wanted shade, sun shine made him more grouchy. I never understood why the male species want to dress like the females...would one be proud of their gender? he inquired staring at Fleur and being reminded of the snowy owl boy. Fleur "Oh yes!" Fleur answered with a smile. He did not like strawberry as much as some things, pineapple being his absolute favorite, but he was not about to say that when Chath was offering - that would be very rude. He busied himself finding the perfect table and finally decided on one near the middle with a large parasol shielding it from the worst of the sunlight. His black fur made the summer sun a plague, so he avoided it when he could even if he liked sitting outside.
I really have no idea, Argent admitted, agreeing with Keir about that. He's been like this and getting progressively worse about it since... She looked down, not certain about sharing such an intimate secret with another dragon. Even Stevie did not know what truly happened that day...
Chath Chath smiled before he went in. Going up to the counter making a quiet cash check before ordering. It took only a moment before the tart arrived on a small white plate, taking a napkin and a fork he thanked the cashier and then went back outside.
He found Fleur had chosen a nice shady spot under a parasol and went to join him. Putting the plate in front of the young skunk his smile still ever present. "there you go! One tart in exchange for helping me out."
Keir looked to Argent his arrogance seeming to have melted away during their conversation. He cocked his head to the left a bit, more in a curious manner than anything. Did something bad happen? he inquired his tone more thoughtful than before. Fleur Fleur smiled up at him, twitching his ears. "Thank you - I'm more than happy to help!" He happily ate the tart, trying not to be messy with it which was a very hard thing with his fur. No matter the food, it always got gummed up in his furry fingers. "It's not every day someone actually wants to go shopping with me," he admitted.
Argent frowned at him, considering. Can I trust you not to tell anyone else? she had to ask. Not even his guardian truly knows what happened...he doesn't want her to worry.
Chath Chath sat down and watched Fleur eat the tart. It was cute watching her. Yes he did have a bad time at trying to distinguish boys from girls it seemed. "Glad you like it." he replied and then gave a smile at Fleur's comment about shopping. he didn't really enjoy shoping, but he wasn't about ti hurt the poor girls feelings.
"It wasn't a problem. If anything I was the one who requested you for help." he said with a smile and nod. He..tried to very subtle pass Fleur the nakpin he had picked up at the counter.
Keir nodded his head. If anything though he was arrogant, annoying and, well, numerous other things he prided himself over his honor. On dragon's honor I would not even tell my partner. he vowed solemnly. It must have been pretty dreadful. Fleur Fleur grinned at how subtle he was trying to be with the napkin, knowing full well he badly needed it. "Thanks," he laughed. "I hate having fur sometimes - everything gums up in it from chocolate to cheetos." He neatly wiped his fingers then used another napkin to try to hold the tart so he could finish it without making a mess all over again. "I hope your girlfriend likes the presents!"
Argent sighed and drooped, resting her head on her folded claws as she looked up at her boy, her expression one of pity. That bandage over his eye - he got that from another child from D-Corp. A shark back right before I hatched... He beat him until he was nearly comatose for a week - from what I heard, he was in the hospital for several days. He was limping for a month. She heaved another sigh. He has nightmares about it every night...it's just so frustrating because I don't know how to help him. That was what she hated most - she wanted so badly to help Fleur, but all she could do was give him something to hug when he woke up.
Chath Chath blushed very embaressed and coughed and laughed. "Well she isn't my girlfriend..." he stated in protest though inwardly he had wondered about asking her to be. "I don't think she likes me in that way anyway." he continued on hasitly.
Keir listened and tilted his head, he looked to Fleur again and shook his head. Even if he was demonic in his own way...to do that to someone who was obviously much weaker than themselves... He huffed up his chest looking a bit angry.
That is very cowardly..why would one take on and do such a thing to those weaker? he growled in annoyance. True he was being a bit of a hypocrite. But he only ever beat on his partner. His partner had to be as strong as he was right? he made a mental note to attack this 'shark boy' if he ever came across him. Fleur "Well...do you want her to be?" Fleur asked, resting his chin in his hands after finishing the tart. "You'll never know if she does or not unless you ask, right?" He smiled, very matter-of-fact in his way of thinking.
Argent nodded in agreement. She felt the exact same way. I'm going to bite his tail off if I ever see him, she huffed. She did not want her boy to continue hurting the way he was.
Chath Er...she was right. He needed to let Ligeia know his feelings if he was to know whether or not she would be interested in being his girlfriend.
"Er...I would...like her to ..be..." he responded slowly very embarrassed by this point. "er...do you have anyone special to you?" He asked trying to somehow switch the subject.
Keir gave a slow sigh and went to lay down as well. This was getting a tad boring, but he could be patient. He thought back to what Argent had said about the shark boy. He couldn't recall ever meeting the kid, but then again Chath could of met him before he had been around. Fleur Fleur shook his head, folding an extra napkin into a paper airplane as he talked. "No...I sort of wish I did though," he admitted. "Bah and Chrysler love me, I know, and I love shopping, but it would be nice sometimes to have someone to enjoy it with." He shrugged and smiled again. "Maybe there's somebody waiting for me somewhere like she is for you!" It was a nice thought at least.
Argent closed her eyes to snooze while Fleur was still busy, unconsciously curling her tail around Keir's.

Play Date #9: Queer Eye For the Straight Guy...s? (Cody/Taren/Ligeia)Cody It wasn't like he was allowed to go out on his own, but it wasn't like Winter specifically said that he couldn't go to the mall. Edan was at work and it wasn't like his brother wouldn't mind Cody having borrowed a bit of the money that he hid in his sock drawer. Too predictable the both of them. Besides- neither would be back from work for a few hours so that left Cody alone with nothing to do but watch old westerns that he'd eventually had memorized.
Tex hadn't been out in public yet either. There was some faint hope that Cody might bump into either Keanu or Paxton at the mall. It was a slim chance but they'd talked about going. He and Paxton knew it was a great spot to hook up with girls. They often traveled in hordes to go shopping and spent hours there. At the end of the day they were so tired and spaced from shopping that they'd not have the wit to turn down guys like himself and Paxton...
Not so much Paxton. Guy looked like he had a fight with a paintball machene and lost.
The bull snorted in amusement, stretching his arms up over his head as he clopped through the main doors of the mall, Tex close at his heels. The little copper was almost like a puppy going on its first walk. Now and then it would jump on someone in welcome- half the time greeted in a scream or a startled jump back.
"Ya gotta behave here!" Cody glanced down to the little dragon. Small enough still to fit into the mall but too young to leave alone...he was breaking so many rules. "If I get my hide tanned it'll be yer a** that'll pay." Fleur Fleur skipped merrily through the glass doorways of the mall, squeaking with delight. It was the first time he had been able to go since the "incident" with a certain shark boy because Stevie did not want him to go out by himself to such a crowded place, but today, he had finally managed to get permission, and he was going to take advantage of it! Have credit card, will shop, and all that.
He was still wearing his incredibly feminine outfit he bought the day he met Chath. It was comfortable, pretty, and very cool on hot days like today where he especially hated having black fur. Stevie and Chrysler both had finally enlightened him to the fact that he looked like a girl wearing it, but frankly, Fleur did not care. It was pretty, and he liked it, and as far as he was concerned, that was all that mattered.
Aube en Argent was trying to keep up with her skipping skunk, stumbling over her own feet on the slick tile of the mall's floor. She simply had to learn English, and soon, simply so she could yell at him to slow down and wait for her. Taren Taren did not normally go out on his own, even through he was forever growing he was still quite the shy one, nervous of new people and crowded places but on days like today he didn't have much choice. His mother was working so he had been sent out with Flint who had of course dumped him at the first chance he had gotten, but this was an old and well rehearsed routine and Taren just had to wait till his mother found out then she'd give the rat anthro a good tongue lashing and come pick him up for now.
Luckily he had some money and was able to buy himself and ice cream and sit one one of the benches by the small collection of fake plants. Holding the sweet treat in his claws delicately as he wrapped his tongue round the strawberry flavored (currently melting) icecream. It was such a hot day, having dark fur covering most of his body was not a good thing luckily he was dressed in flip flop sandals, a long sleeveless tank top that was far to lose on him and pale green shorts. All the softest airest cotton of course.
Taren's eyes flickered out to the people passing by every now and then a little nervous but the icecream made him feel better and slightly more confident while the knowledge that his mother would be here soon kept him from panicking, plus the people didn't seem to bothered with him. Ligeia Vorel touched down in their normal landing pad that was the courtyard of the mall and his partner hopped down off of his back, stretching out before looking back at the dragon, "Thank you for the ride." He said, brushing himself off, shifting back and forth then gave a grumbling sound. "How do people wear these constantly? I don't get it." He asked of his dragon. Pants were just... uncomfortable but he'd decided he would attempt to wear them when he went out into public places to make sure that nobody else would get confused as much as Chath had. He didn't want to risk that again... he'd wear the stuff he liked to wear when he was at home or around D-corp. Not that what he was wearing could be consider wholely boyish. Aside from the pants which he figured had to be a sign of being a guy he was wearing a tanktop that showed off his middrift that had a star with a smiley face on it. His hair was tied back with a yellow ribbon the same color as the happy star. It was about as close as he was going to get until he got more clothing like the stuff Zyanya helped him to pick out. Half why he was here actually the other half was just him wanting to get out and about. The owl boy stretched out then started towards the door that would allow him access into the mall leaving behind Vorel who was to big to get around inside easily to lounge next to the fountain as he loved to do. He would make friends with the little kids that always seemed to swarm him while they were here and that would leave him to having fun while his partner was away. Cody Cody glanced around shortly, scratching a bit under the strap of his eyepatch. It was still something quite new to him. Irritable at the very least. Seemed to be a good crowd there, no sign of spots or pink fluffs, but that was just a minor set-back. There had to be some nice ladies around- and if not... he could get something to attract them. He heard the ladies like a guy that smelled good, maybe a new vest or something.
Tex rumbled beside him, turning his head around to look out the glass doors again. "Well well...." Cody chuckled a bit, slowly sliding himself behind one of the doors. Tex blinked in confusion, glancing between the older dragon then over to Cody.
"Jus' watch an' learn Tex..." His tail snapped from side to side. It was tradition- don't mess with tradition. Fleur Fleur admired himself in the mirror-like glass of the doors in a moment of distraction, using his hands to fluff the fur of his cheeks before reaching up to adjust his butterfly hair clip and sniff at his wrist to make sure his apple perfume was still noticable. He recently discovered he very much liked to primp in front of a mirror and liked even more to play dress-up in front of one which brought to mind another thing he could look for here - costumes! Maybe, he should have made a list of what all he wanted to buy while he was here...new perfume, new jewelry for Argent, costumes...he knew there was something else, but he supposed he would remember it as he browsed.
Finally tearing his gaze from the glass, Fleur dusted off his skirt sarong and turned to look up at the many floors of the mall, his tail waving up and down with anticipation. It was so big - maybe he would bump into some of his friends here. He would love to meet Valens again. "Where should we go first, Dawnie?" he asked.
"Home" is what Argent wanted to say, but lack of knowledge of English prevented her from doing so, so she instead just shrugged as best she could before she was quickly placated with a vigorous scratch against her mohawk-like fin, the feeling making her melt for a moment as it always did. She was snapped from her bliss when one of the glass doors bumped her tail, and she bounced out of the way with a squeak, not wanting to be run over.
"Mm?" Fleur glanced over his shoulder out of curiosity to see who else was entering the mall.
Taren Taren was succeeding in getting the icecream all over his fur and whiskers, ever a spot on his pink nose which he licked off happily, squirming in delight at the slight sugar rush that it brought to his system, crunching the last of the cone between sharp little canine he started to lick the long claws free of any trickle that had melted and manged to escape to his hands. He loved anything sweet, and not just candy and junkfod, but sweet fruit as well, which is why hs nose twitched and his head lifted at the smell of sweet apple, mixed with something else he didn't really recognize.
Hmm he could do with an apple now, the little mole boy being a bit of a glutton if truth be told he pushed himself up from the bench and padded round the side of the pillar, following nose and eyes in search of apples but they lead him to a girl...no a boy wearing girls clothing. How very odd. He blinked...but ohhhh he had such a fluffy tail, he pet t was soft and...he wanted to touch it but still to nervous to approach he hung back. The boy also had a dragon following him, so he was from D-corp? Taren was meant to have one soon to but it was late in hatching.
He followed the boy with his eyes still standing against the pillar and was also drawn to look over at the doors where another D-corper was entering, made obvious by the fact that he had just landed on a dragon. He looked soft to, Those feathers. He sighed dreamily, he'd love to pet them. Ligeia Ligeia almost, almost caught it this time. He heard the sound of hooves coming towards him and he felt a moment of de ja vu. He was able to even get himself turned... and then he was getting flattened by a very exuberant greeting that he only got from one of his friends, "Cody!" He said, happy despite getting a bit squished. He was used to such a greeting so he wasn't at all bothered by it. He then gave him a happy and excited hug despite the fact that he was sure he'd get a punch in the arm for it. It was a worthwhile trade if you asked the owl since it had been a while since he had see his bull friend. Cody "Aww damnit." Cody groaned at the hug, delivering the already well-expected club to the boy's arm as he stepped back and got himself to his hooves again. "Ya gotta stop doin' that. Men don't hug."
Dispite the scolding, Cody was grinning ear to ear and snapping his tail from one side to the other. He was a bit taller than he'd been last time Geia had seen him at the park, a bit more toned and...well his belly was a bit lacking from the months he'd been stuck in the hospital bed.
Tex watched curiously from behind his rider. Watch and learn... and learn... The dragon smirked a bit and hunched back, swishing his long tail behind him. Soon as Legeia started to get himself up he'd face a blur of copper stomping towards him with a loud, enthusiastic coo.
"TRANATION TEX!" Cody reached out unsuccessfully to catch the dragon- well that's not what he meant! Fleur Fleur flipped his ears curiously at what was going on just outside the doors, blinking his blue eyes in confusion. He vaguely recognized the one with the wings but could not place a name to the face. It had been a very long time since he had seen him - or was it a her? Not that he could say anything since he could easily pass for a girl right now as well. He debated drawing attention to himself by calling a greeting before his attention was completely thrown off-kilter when he noticed the bull boy's tail snapping back and forth. The skunk was immediately hypnotized and beaming in wonderment at such a strange tail. It almost looked like Valens' but not quite.
Argent, meanwhile, scuttled behind her boy to make sure she was not tackled in the same way, staring at the people outside with trepidation.
Taren Taren watched the whole things enfold with wide eyes magnified with those bottle nose glasses sniffing still, his pink nose twitching at the smell of apples which emanated from the black and white...boy...girl? He couldn't really tell nor could he with the white feathered teen but it didn't matter a jot because that tail and those feathers looked so dreamily soft, plus they all had dragons which was instantly cool.
He edged out nervously and leaned forward to get a better look. Giggling slightly as the poor bird boy was tackled by the dragon, even as a baby he was a little big for that sort of greeting. The mole boy jolted the giggling to a stop clapping claws over his mouth as he realized how mean laughing at someone else like that was. Glancing around he quickly half walked half jogged over to the doorway of one of the nearby shops so he could watch them more clearly, they all looked interesting but that bull boy scared him and was so awfully loud, it made his small ears press down hard against his head. Ligeia Ligeia did well, didn't even wince this time from the whap to the arm. He pushed up to his feet, "I know they aren't but I couldn't resist anyways." He said in reference to the hug. He just... he was a very huggy person adding to that his excitement it just wasn't all going to end with him being able to resist. The owl was just starting to brush himself off when suddenly he was on the ground again getting tackled by a dragon this time, he was a little dazed as the dragon was a bit heavier then Cody, "Ahh... Yours I'm guessing?" He asked of Cody when his wits returned to him. From where he was laying when he looked back he saw someone familiar though upside down from this angle, "Fleur!" He called, giving a wave not quite ready to rise even if he could with a dragon on top of him. He then heard a laugh and looked over to where Taren was, giving the new boy a little wave. Cody "Dang nabbit, Tex!" cody stomped over and grabbed at the horns of the little dragon, yanking him up off of the poor owl boy. The dragon lifted himself up off Legeia with a friendly coo, glad to comply with Cody for the moment, "Yeah 'e's mine. A bit of a late bloomer. Sorry 'bout that. Hadn't had time tah train 'em up right jus' yet. Didn't see 'em goin' at'cha till it was too late." He smiled sheepishly, making a mental note to keep Tex on his left from now on.
An ear rotated sharply behind him as Legia greeted someone else. Cody turned perhaps a bit too sharply, almost suspiciously. He often looked more critical than he meant. A single chocolate eye instantly pinged onto the skunk kid...then slowly moved to the mole kid. "...well looks like we got ourselves a couple o' peekers... girlfriend?" He glanced back to Geia and gerked a thumb towards Fleur. Fleur Fleur beamed, pleased he did not have to butt in to get their attention. "Hi," he spoke as he dared to step a little closer, wracking his brain for the owl's name. He remembered he was the babysitter a long time ago when Stevie left him there...the one with the huge, scary ice dragon. But what was his naaaame?
Regardless, he gave Cody a friendly smile even if he could barely understand his accent, introducing himself, "I'm Fleur." He actually hoped the owl would not blow his "cover". In a moment of mischief, he rather wanted to play being a girl for a while and see just how convincing he could be just for the heck of things.
Fleur blinked and looked over his shoulder when he saw the owl waving elsewhere and waved as well to the little one trying to hide. He had no idea what he was or how long he had been there, but he needed to at least greet him.
Argent slowly snaked her long neck back around from behind Fleur so she could peer curiously at the copper dragon, marveling at his horns. She had never seen a copper before, so maybe this trip to the mall would not be quite as boring for her as she originally thought.
Taren Taren flinched when he was spotted expected to be yelled at but when he only got a wave he brightened and waved back. The white bird seemed nice maybe he'd let him pat those soft looking feathers,he squirmed in delight at the very thought. Then the bull spoke and he did seem to yell or at least he had a very loud and boomy voice in Taren's option. He puffed up defensively "I was not peeking..I was just..." Hmmm what had he been doing. "I was just looking at your dragons." he said quickly. It didn't seem fair. the black and white creature didn't seem much older than him and he had his dragon. Al through he did look by far the youngest of the bunch with his rounded boyish features and wide brown eyes so enhanced by his lenses.
He edged closed and deflated almost instantly, the bull boy was scary, just look at those horns! Plus he was well muscled. He waved a little back at the black and white kid to,smiling shyly, maybe he'd let him pet his tail? If he asked politely...well he could try it. He swallowed deeply. "You..ahh..have a very nice tail.." he attempted stammering a little. Ligeia Ligeia shook his head again when he was once more back of on his feet and stretched out all over before giving the dragon a smile, "Your very much like your partner." He told him, believing that to be a good thing even if it left one a little sore with how they greeted him. He turned to looked over at Fleur then laughed at Cody's question, "Not my girlfriend but a friend, I watched Fleur a while back along with some other kids to give their parents a break." The owl then turned to Taren and gave him a smile, "You can come over and hang out with us if you like." He assured him, motioning him over with a hand. He didn't see why not the more the merrier after all. Then there was a 'thump' followed by a sort of 'screeeeeech' sound that drew the owl's attention as Vorel plastered himself to the glass doors. There were other dragons in there! He wanted in too! "Let in, Ligeia! Me too!" He called throught he door in draconic at his partner. If the other dragons could go in he wanted to go in too, "Will becareful." Even his draconic was simplified as he wasn't among the smartest of the dragons, he was sweet and very loyal though. Ligeia seemed to debate it a moment before opening the door and Vorel slipped in happily and sat next to Geia, his tail swishing happily. Yes! Success! He knew that his owl couldn't tell him no when he asked nicely. Cody "Friend eh?" Cody smirked a bit, his single eye narrowing on the small skunk kid as he gave 'her' a look over. Something wasn't right though, he couldn't put his finger on it just yet... Looked like a girl, acted like a girl... the voice was a bit odd though. And the smell was just too thick of apples. So far none of the girls he'd talked to had put anything on that noticeable. Maybe he was still a bit light-headed.
"Hmmm...Fleur eh? Babysittin' by Legia?" He slapped his knee and gave a bit of a hooting laugh, "That's a good one." He glanced back to the owl boy, "Boy you need a hobby. Why don't'cha come brawlin' and drinkin' with Keanu an' me? We jus' get root beer right now. Nice an' cold tah help take care of any bruisin' ya get from a few lesser friendly punches." He sent another rough jab into the owl's shoulder, "It'll make a decent man outta ya."
He glanced over to the little mole kid....he....was looking at tails? "....decent man outta any fella I reckon'. 'cher name there bugeyes?"
Cody folded his arms over his thick chest and gave the mole the same critical look-over. Sizing him up almost. It was just instinct for him at this point. Just about any new kid he met among the first questions on his mind was whether or not he might be able to get a decent fight out of them. The kid didn't seem the type to play rough though, kind of a shame. Those claws looked wicked.
Tex distracted himself with Vorel, craning his head back to flash the larger dragon a toothy grin. Not too unlike Cody's more friendly grins either. Fleur Fleur was not quite so sure what the bull found so funny, but he smiled in response anyway, assuming that was the right thing to do. The fact that he was, indeed, a skunk probably explained the strength of the perfume though it was still not nearly as strong as he used to wear it now that he had learned how to control his natural odor.
Fleur turned to the little one behind him to give him a more proper greeting now that he was closer, then lit up at his question, blue eyes sparkling. Someone else who appreciated tails? "Thank you!" he squeaked in response, waving his tail up and down happily.
Argent, however, was less than thrilled, looking crestfallen. Another one obsessed with tails? Maybe her boy was not quite as much of a freak as she thought...
Argent yelped and scrambled back in shock when the huge frost dragon pressed against the glass, staring up at it in a mixture of horror and intrigue. Was she going to get that big...?
Taren Taren smiled in a more genuine manner towards Geia as he invited him to join them, he was starting to like him indeed. He edged for more and then and came to a halt as Cody's question. Keeping an eye on those pretty pretty and silky looking feathers, esspicaly those wings. His claws even twitched again with his desire to touch and pet.
Buggyeyes?!? His cheeks puffed up a little in indignation. He maybe timid but he disliked being called names just as much as the next guy. Well because it was just plane mean. Still he was nice and so he answered him plainly enough, after all the boy still scared him, didn't want to make him made, plus the fact that he was the smallest one here didn't help his confidence hugely. "Me?" he asked Cody shyly. "ahhh...I'm Taren...NOT buggyeyes." he said firmly.
Luckily his thoughts were quickly distracted by Fleur talking to him, his name meant flower didn't it? He had heard that somewhere and he had a very sharp memory so he often retained such scraps of information in his mind. He brighten as he detected the approval for his comment in the boys voice. His gaze following that tail as he waved, slowly starting to reach for it when he jumped about a foot in the air when the glass doors vibrated violently with the force the ice dragon applied, his eyes grew wide with awe now he was seeing him close up. He was so big. Ligeia "Brawling and drinking?" The owl asked before he started to laugh, "I don't know, you and Keanu would make short work of me in a brawl, it would be a bit like cheating don't you think?" He teased the cow boy before turning to look over at Fleur and Taren as he leaned back against his dragon. "Its nice to see you again Fleur, how have you been?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest then gave a smile. On his wrist was a pretty, silver bracelet that he'd not taken off for a while, one he'd gotten as a gift from his friend. Geia looked over to Cody, "Bugeyes? Thats not very nice." He said, turning to give Taren a smile, "Cody isn't nearly as scary as he seems. Hes actually very nice." An assurance for both Fleur and Taren, while Geia know what it was like to get tackled by the guy it wasn't bad adn Cody wasn't bad. Vorel looked over at Tex first then over to Argent giving both dragons and smile and a greeting in draconic, a smile: "Hello there." He said, two rather interesting sorts of dragons from the looks of them, metallic dragons both a copper and a silver. Cody "Didn't mean nothin' by it." Cody rolled his eye, giving a loud snort. "I didn't know 'is name or nothin' so I 'ad to go with I got." He looked the little mole kid over again, tipping his head slightly. "Just what in tarnation are ya anyway, kid?"
Cody, quite frankly, was as far from bookwise as a bird was to being a fish. He hardly read if he could avoid it. He'd missed out on quite a few lessons by his own fault and many more through his weeks of recovery. There'd been books and magizenes provided but he was beside himself with embarassment, he didn't dare try to read in front of Paxton and Keanu. So it was pretty reasonable that he'd never seen of or heard of a mole before. The nature channels hardly focused on the underground creatures. Owls and 'polecats' sure... owls were the creepy things that flew around at night time-which puzzled Cody...why wasn't Legiea more badass?-and polecats were the things that made cartoons scatter while they hopped about their merry way after a horrified female cat.
He never intended on being rude, though it was easily seen as being otherwise. He just had a hard time keeping what was on his mind in his mind. Rather, he was known for blurting out the first thing that came to mind...what little of one he had to call his.
In the meantime, Tex greeted the other dragon with the same wide grin as he'd displayed for Vorel. Didn't seem like Tex shared the amazing people skills of his future rider... Fleur Fleur's attention was lacking to the extreme today, especially with so many people and dragons around him. It was very hard to concentrate on each person. One thing did catch his eye though - Ligeia's bracelet. He squeaked when he recognized it and beamed. "Chath gave that to you, right?" he squeaked again, beaming and happy Chath had found the courage to do so. He also wondered if Chath had asked Ligeia to be his girlfriend, but he knew that would be rude out in public.
Waitaminute - girlfriend? Ligeia was a boy! Fleur frowned, thinking about that. He hoped Chath knew that...while he wanted to have fun fooling other boys into thinking he was a girl just for fun, he certainly would not want someone to want to be his boyfriend thinking he was a girl!
Argent numbly raised a claw to wave up to the huge dragon, her claws twitching faintly. She knew she was going to grow, but she had no idea how big she could potentially get. She was both scared and amazed.
After a brief moment, she managed to tear her gaze back down to the copper, once again admiring his horns. It was only then that she realized she was being very rude, not only with the open-mouthed staring at the big dragon but with not introducing herself!
M-M-My n-name's...A-Argent, she stammered, shuffling her claws on the floor nervously.
Taren "not very nice.! Taren repeated looking at Cody but after the small explanation from Geia and the sort of appolgy from the bull boy he nodded slowly in acknowledgement. "okay, I forgive you." His mother always said he should forgive people unless they were backstabbing bastards that didn't deserve it, yea they had been her exact words and he didn't think that Cody fell into that category.
He blinked again and frowned at the boy, he thought it was rather obvious what he was actually but so many people seemed confused by it, yet he knew what everyone else was, could tell after a few minutes of looking and inhaling each individual sent, that was a bull like how they had in cartoons always chasing down red sheets in cartoons. He wondered if Cody would chase him and quickly checked he wasn't wearing any red, no that was good.Geia was a snowy owl. He'd seen one at the zoo and Fleur was a sunk like in his book, but he was only confused because skunks were meant to smell bad yet he only smelled so pleasantly of apples.
"I'm a mole." he told him holding up his sharp claws as evidence. Before using them o scratch behind his ears. "Mole's live underground in clever tunnels but my tunnels collapse sometimes so I don't." he told him frowning a little. He was working on that at least. Ligeia Ligeia nodded his head looking down at the bracelet before he gave a nod of his head, "Yeah, it was a gift from him." The owl said as he lifted his gaze to Fleur and then asked, "How did you know?" It couldn't have just been a guess unless the skunk boy was psychic or something? Naw, couldn't be. He looked over to Taren as he spoke, "Mole? Oh! I know you. Well... not know you but know of you. You took a class with my Dad." He said, wings giving a little flutter. Was always nice to put a face with the notes that his father had laying around all over the house. Vorel looked over at the silver as she introduced herself, "Argent. Nice to meet." he then lifted a clawed hand to his chest, "Vorel." He said, giving his name then looked over to the copper dragon to see if he would give his name as well. Cody "Mole's what'cha get on yer skin sometimes I thought...", Cody reached up to scratch at his head, moving the hat around a bit. He still carried one of Legia's feathers in the strap- his trophie from way back when he first met the owl boy and managed to plow him right to the ground. He'd let him keep it and either Cody forgot that it was there entirely or still felt very proud of the little accomplishment of his youth, "Ah whatever." He shrugged a bit. It wasn't a big deal if he didn't know what everyone was in his opinion- though with Winter working with animals he very likely should have been less oblivious.
"So 'Geia what'cha doin' at the mall?" He smirked a bit, folding his arms, "Gettin' yer nails done?" It was just a joke though sadly it might have been true, "Ya should come an' we can show mole kid here how tah pick up some chicks. CHICKS." He grinned a bit more, snapping his tail sharply. "This place is always crawlin' with 'em. Shoppin' an' they come 'ere in groups. One for you, me, and mole..." He looked over to the skunk kid, "Ya got some friends?"
The copper dragon glanced between the two, Silver and Vorel? He could remember that, He called me Tex. He offered, Hatched not too long ago. Fleur Fleur giggled girlishly remembering how he had met Chath. "He was looking for a present for you and wanted my opinion," he explained. "Good thing I came along - he was about to go into a lingerie store." Even he knew that would have been a bad idea, especially after he later found out that Chath had not yet confessed his feelings to Ligeia and especially now that he knew exactly who Chath had been buying it for. Female lingerie for a boy? Although...picturing it, it would look good on Geia...
The skunk blinked as he was distracted by Cody's question. "Oh...no, not really," he admitted, his tail lowering a little as he was reminded of that upsetting truth. Sure, he had many acquaintances from around D-Corp, but...friends? "Just Dawnie - that's what I call her 'cause her name means Silver Dawn."
Argent was torn from her shock when she heard Fleur blurt this out, and she whined and flopped melodramatically behind him. She hated her name so much - it was redundant! A silver dragon named "Silver"? Why, why, WHY could she not have been given an original name? Vorel was original! Keir was original! Even Tex sounded better!
"Dawnie, you look like a wet noodle," Fleur stated plainly, only adding to his poor dragon's chagrin.
Taren Taren brightened and nodded at Geia's estimation. "yes, yes the man with bright red hair." Well since that was the only male teacher he had had any lessons with he assumed that must be correct. Geia's father was nice so no wonder the owl boy was pleasant to.
Still he wasn't sure if he liked Cody over much, no matter what Geia said. He just didn't seem to watch what he was saying to well. He absently scratched his arm with long claws. Chicks? Why would he want a baby chicken unless he meant...girls?!? taren curled his nose up a little. He had a few girls he knew as friends bt he guessed he really didn't look at anyone in that way yet. He knew Tyven, she was scary bt nice to him. And Alora the dove girl, very sweet and quite. Still he didn't look at any of them like that.
He glanced over at the dragons and felt a small longing and a little jealousy, he wished his egg would hatch, but it was just taking a while that was all just had to be patient right? Ligeia Ligeia couldn't help but give a bit of a laugh, "Naw, I wouldn't force my crazy nails on anyone else that wouldn't be at all nice of me." He said, he could only imagine the look of a persons face if he went in for something like that and presented the person with his talons. No doubt they would have a heart attack... His train of thought sort of derailed at what Fleur said next nearly choking, "H-He was w-where now?" He studdered out, lignerie store? Now why in the world would Chath check there for a gift? He had to admit that he was much happier with the bracelet then with anything that could have been gotten in a place like that, "Well... thank you for helping him out." He tried to force down his blush and turned to Taren, "Ahh... I saw the notes he had from your class and was kinda hoping to meet you. Always nice to put names together with faces and stuff." He was glad to talk about his father isntead of the lingerie thing. How embaressing, at least Fleur was there to steer him in the right direction. "Tex." Vorel said as if committing the name to memory then gave a smile to the Silver dragon, "Name is nice." He told her, "Vorel good but... not very strong a name." After all what male wanted a name that simply meant 'beautiful'? Cody "Well that's alright." Cody shrugged a bit at Fleur, "Was hopin' ya could hook us up with some o' yer girly friends. These boys-" he jerked a thumb towards Geia and Taeren, "They need some guidance in gettin' some girls. Put some hair on their chests ya know." He grinned, reaching forward to thud both guys on their backs, "There's a food court 'ere too. Nuff free refills tah start up a half decent burpin' contest."
Tex chuckled a bit. He knew Fleur was a male, dispite the perfume there was a distinct smell between a male and a female. However, the dragon had no way to communicate that and even if he could- it was amusing. Cody didn't seem to have any interst in the skunk child, didn't have the right figure, wasn't old enough. A few factors. "Vorel good name." He nodded a bit, "Both good names. Fits well."
Cody paused a bit, looking a bit between Legia and Fleur, "....Th' girly underpant store?" He looked to the side, his one eye narrowing as he slowly trailed his gaze back to the owl boy. "....YA ALREADY GOT A GIRL! Yew dog, havin' yer buddy go an' get sexy clothin' on." He offered another hearty thump to the owl's back, "Good fer you! An' I was startin' to worry." Fleur Fleur snrked at Cody's first comment. "The only 'girly' friend I have is a firebreathing fox robot," he stated. He blushed at the other comment though. "N-No, I wasn't trying it on...neither was Chath." That made him wonder though, his thoughts drifting off. "I wonder how it would look though..." Maybe it was cute enough to be worth buying today?
Vorel's a good name... Argent sighed. Mine's stupid. She looked back up at Vorel, desperate for another topic. Will I get as big as you? The thought still stunned her.
Unfinished. Awaiting reply from Taren.

Play Date #10: Either Way, It's Still Fruity (Revon)Revon Revon instinctively flinched as the rather pissy new partner of his decided to try and flatten his foot again. Thank god for some reaction skills, he'd managed to avoid it. "Flower... can't you be nicer?" A bit of a plea as the less than masculine bird let his wings droop a bit as he watched the muzzled dragon beside him. A gruff hiss was his only answer as the thing continued to stalk along beside him.
Honestly, he wasn't quite sure why Flower actually followed him, perhaps it was just that he was supposed to be his partner. Or that the dragon wanted to bite him the moment he could. Both seemed fairly plausible with the way the newly hatched black behaved.
A sigh as he paused to push open the door to the smoothie shop he usually chose when he was left to his own devices. Haruki was off running errands in town so he was on his own with Flower until later. That and a bit of spending money for the day. This wasn't the first day of course, so as usual he went about his routine. First a smoothie, strawberry today, then a walk through the park. A stop by the arcade later to show just how much he'd been practicing at DDR, and then whatever he felt like until it was time to meet Haru again. Yep, same as usual.
Allowing the black to squeeze in through the door behind him, Revon made his way to the count and easily slid onto a stool, smiling at the familiar face as he did. "Strawberry today!" He called in singsong voice as he reached into his pocket to grab some money. And so the routine began again.
Fleur Fleur frowned up at the smoothie shop's sign, debating whether or not he wanted to go in. He was not in a particularly cheerful mood and had not been for the last week, nightmares plaguing him every time he closed his eyes though he had no idea why they were so prominent lately when they had not bothered him for a while now. Maybe he just needed some comfort food since shopping had not alleviated the stress as it usually did.
Aube en Argent, however, was secretly glad shopping was not working even though she was immensely concerned about her boy's troubled mind. She was so sick of being dragged to and from different shopping centers and malls and even now had a bag filled with knitting supplies stuck in her mouth.
"Thirsty, Dawnie?" Fleur asked his dragon who nodded if only because going inside would mean she would not have to carry his shopping bag for a while. Letting her make up his mind for him, Fleur opened the door to the smoothie shop so she could go ahead of him, following close behind her.
Revon The raven didn't have to wait long for the smoothie to arrive. If there was one really good thing about the shop it was that they were speedy. Partially due to a smaller atmosphere so it wasn't always busy.
As soon as he was given the smoothie he turned to glance at the dragon beside him. Looking as if the world had wronged him horribly as usual. "You know, Ha wouldn't insist on the muzzle if you stopped biting." He didn't particularly like the rule, since if did upset Flower, but it was as good a solution as he could think of to stop the dragon from trying to rip off someones arm. What could he do?
Flower peered up a moment at the bird, giving it a low hiss as a reply before shifting to purposefully stare anywhere, but at him. This directed his gaze briefly to the door where it seemed another dragon was making it's way in. A silver to be exactly. The dragon tilted it's head momentarily before letting out a second grumble. Not worth his time obviously, serving those beings as such. What a joke, all for what? A snack?
Revon could only sigh at the response and slump down in his chair a bit. So Flower didn't want to compromise at all then? He took a sip of the smoothie he'd been handed while trying to figure out a new way to try and at least get the dragon to get along with him, following the trail of the black's vision as he grumbled again. What was it this time? Though he quickly realized the thing causing the ruckus was something he recognized. Sort of.
He hadn't seen the dragon before, but that was certainly Fleur, right? That boy he'd met in the park. "Fleur?" It was a bit louder to test if he responded, nothing that should get too much attention, but it should have been heard.
Fleur Fleur's ears perked up when he heard his name, and he waved to the raven already sitting, wracking his memory for his name. He remembered meeting a raven and being fascinated with his wings when he was very little, but what was his name? "Hi!" he called in response, still trying to remember. Since the raven remembered his name, it would be very rude to not return it. He vaguely remembered it sounded a lot like "raven". "Revon?" he tried, hoping he got it right.
Now that they were inside, Argent spat out the shopping bag and stuck her tongue out to rest it, shaking herself and making the silver and emerald pendant around her neck jingle before she blinked when she noticed the exchange between her boy and the other one sitting already. She had never met this one before, but Fleur seemed to know him, so she could only assume they had met before she hatched. She frowned when she noticed the dragon next to the new boy though.
Why a black? She could only hope this one had better manners than Keir, but given the fact that it was wearing a muzzle, her hopes were not particularly high.
Revon The raven beamed at the reply. He'd taken to making sure he memorized the name of everyone he met, mainly due to the fact Haruki would dissaprove of anything less. And god knew he didn't want to upset Haru. "How have you been?" It was asked after Fleur said his name, which did confirm the guess to have been correct. Certainly he would have been confused if it had been wrong. "And I've never seen you in here before." This was certainly different from his regular schedule.
Flower hissed in annoyance at the silver. Shifting his wings as he shoved himself up from where he'd been laying. Carrying around bags like some sort of animal. What a disgrace. He huffed before glancing up at the bird beside him, grumbling something that came out too garbled to understand due to his muzzle. It was in draconic anyway, only Argent might have had a chance at guessing what he said. As if Flower would disgrace himself with speaking the tongue of those useless beings.
Still, there was work to be done. Mainly, letting the little silver know it wasn't in charge here. Oh no, if it wanted to serve humans it could certainly serve him as well.
Oh god... not again. Revon might not have been with the dragon for very long, but he knew what was going on. He knew that posture, something between haughty and ready to try and fight. "F-flower... don't." Not that the dragon ever listened. "That's not helping."
Fleur Fleur relaxed in relief when he realized he remembered the name right. "I've been okay," he lied. One of the first things he learned under Bah was to never push one's problems onto someone else - that was reserved for family and best friends only. "I've never been here before," the skunk continued as he stepped closer so as not to have to raise his voice over the space between them, grabbing his shopping bag as well. He knew when his dragon had had enough. "I was just in the neighborhood shopping. How have you been?" The black dragon's growling tore Fleur's attention down to it, and he had to ask, "Why is it muzzled?"
Argent frowned and sighed at the black dragon's behavior. Uncivilized just like the last one. She found herself wondering if all black dragons were so uncivilized. She was determined, however, to not let this one get to her as she had Keir, ignoring him as she followed her skunk.
Revon That was good. Not everyone had quite as much stress to deal with. He did recognize things as stress lately. When it involved his brother there seemed to be more than a little of the stuff too. "I've been well." Lying as well. He wasn't fond of fibbing, but he'd learned a similar lesson to the skunk. Shoving your business upon everyone wasn't proper behavior and should be avoided. "You know, this is actually a nice shop. I usually come here once ore twice a week." It depended on if Haru wanted him to watch Phace or not durring the outings. If Phace was to be watched he was usually left at the house. If not, then he had a day out.
"Eh... well..." The boy paused at the last question, trying to decide how best to word it. "He doesn't really like people very much. And sometimes bites." Not sometimes, quite often. "So we're trying to explain that biting isn't good and doesn't solve things..." Trying was the key word.
Flower glared at being ignored before returning to his previous area and huffing as he was spoken about. It solved lots of problems. For one it shut the kid up when he started talking about that blasted game.
Fleur "Ohh," Fleur muttered at the explanation. "Argent's just kind of prissy." He earned a glare at that remark but did not care - it was the truth. "I think she's only bitten me once." And frankly, he was glad she had. That had been during a particularly bad nightmare, and it was the only way she could wake him. Fleur looked up at the menu to try to find something else to talk about. "What do you recommend here?"
Argent could not help but grin to herself, glad she had deflated the upstart at least somewhat. She looked up to her boy though when he asked about the smoothies, wondering what he was going to get her.

Play Date #11: Donuts and Lobster? (Azoc)Fleur Fleur pressed his face to the glass casing separating him from the delicious-looking donuts just a few inches away, his wet nose leaving a print on the smooth surface. Glazed, chocolate-iced, apple fritter, chocolate-filled, raspberry-filled, tiger tail...it was so hard to decide what to get! It was incredibly tempting to just grab one of everything, and Fleur would not hesitate normally to do just that if it were not for the fact that the last time he did so, he tried to eat all of the pastries in one night which only succeeded in making him sick and Stevie annoyed.
Still...surely he learned his lesson and would maintain some self control this time, right?
Aube en Argent had her nose pressed to the glass as well, eyeing a chocolate-filled donut with intense interest. Ever since she learned chocolate was not dangerous for her as it was for dogs and cats, she had been eagerly anticipating their next trip to the bakery so she could try it. She had eaten plain glazed donuts before, but one with chocolate? She could not wait!
Azoc Azoc clicked her claws as she stared at the other before her, a bag full of goodies she had gotten from another store. Mostly an array of clothing, really. But her antennae perked up as she stared, shifting her weight to one foot.
"... yer gonna get the glass all dirty." She knew, kind of, what it was like for kiddies to smudge up the glass and stare at the critters inside. Of course, when she moved to see what they were looking at, she really couldn't blame them. She could smell it, and oh, did it ever smell good... Fleur Fleur blushed and used his sleeve to wipe away the smudges left behind by his wet nose, his ears pressing back in embarrassment. He always forgot that his nose was wet like a dog's, and he did not like it. "Sorry!" he squeaked then looked over his shoulder to see who had said that, blinking at the girl behind him. "Oh, sorry!" The skunk stepped aside so the girl could see into the case more, giving her an embarrassed smile. "You can go ahead if you want - we're still deciding what we want to get."
Argent snorted at her boy, slapping her tail on the floor. He should speak for himself! She knew what she wanted the second she heard they were going to the bakery - chocolate!

Play Date #12: For the Love of Shopping! (Kale)Fleur Maybe he really did shop too much...
"Naaaah..." Fleur murmured as he tried to decide what store to go to next. He was already carrying two shopping bags - what was another? Argent could carry that one. Besides, he had only been to clothing stores so far. It had been a long time since he had been to a video game store, and he was already standing right in front of one. Maybe he could find something in here for Stevie and Chrysler! He loved buying presents as much as he loved shopping for himself, after all.
Now with a mission, the skunk skipped into the video game store with his exasperated and shopping-tired silver dragon right behind him.
Kale As he entrted into the shop he saw a fairly tall boy that looked amzingly alot like a girraife, playing one of the sample games. His thumbs moving quickly over the puttons making the character on the screen kill tons of people at once. He grinned as the character moved to the next area on the map. Fleur Fleur tilted his head and and stopped where he stood so he could watch the other boy, intrigued. He had a few video games of his own, but they were pretty simplified, and most were RPGs, nothing like what this boy was playing, so it was definitely something new.
Aube en Argent was less than impressed and yawned impressively to show her lack of interest only to be ignored by her skunk boy which only annoyed her. She tugged at his skirt in an attempt to get his attention and sighed when she was further ignored. Maybe biting his butt would work.
Kale When he finally was killed he sighed and shrugged letting go of the controler. He looked at the titel of the game and then checked his pocket and grinned. Running up to counter getting the clerks attion. "Hey, can I get a copy of that ROmance of the Three kingdoms game?" he asked as he pointed to the monitoer that still held the image of his defated character. When he turned to leave he stopped seeing the skunk boy, "Oh, hi." He grinned as he waved at the other obvioues D-Corp child. Fleur Fleur snapped out of his trance and gave the other boy a smile. "Hi," he greeted him. "You're really good at that." Fleur liked to think he was okay at his RPGs, but he played them for the stories not to see if he was any good at them.
Kale Kale grinned, "Thanks. But there are alot of people better then me. There is a whole list of names before mine." Kale loved all kinds of games, normally getting the one to catch his eye for that day. Fleur Fleur did not quite understand what that meant, but he had a feeling saying so would be embarrassing, so he said nothing, instead smiling and introducing himself, "I'm Fleur - I'm a spotted skunk." That probably explained the perfume though maybe not the fact that it smelled of oranges. "This is Argent," Fleur said, introducing his deflated dragon who had slumped around his feet in tragic remorse at being totally ignored previously.
Kale Kale smiled, "Nice to meet you," That is what his mom told him to say after someone introduced themselves to him. "I'm Kale, I'm a gareffie. Argent is great looking. He is so cool!" He spoke excitedly, his tail whiping back and forth. Fleur Fleur smiled and was quick to defend his dragon's easily offended pride as she puffed up behind him. "Argent's a girl," he stated. "It's hard to tell though - I only figured it out because I wrote down 'boy' and 'girl' on a piece of paper and made her point to which one she was." Argent looked even more offended as he stated this, knowing full well it was true. How dare he tell a stranger about that!
Kale "Oh!" His eyes went huge as he relized his mistake. He looked over at Argent. "I'm really sorry Argent. I hope your not to mad at me." He hoped she wasn't as easy to upset as Ter's Baroness. He looked back at Fluer, "She isn't going to be mad for long is she?" Fleur "Nah," Fleur assured Kale with a smile. "She'll just sulk for a bit then get over it." He reached down to scratch Argent's mohawk like fin, the dragon doing just that - sulking though more from embarrassment at Fleur telling that embarrassing story than at the gender confusion.
"Um..." Fleur drawled, a little nervous now. "Since you seem to play games a lot...do you know of any I could try?" he asked, a little embarrassed at his cluelessness about games. "I only play RPGs, and the ones I have now are kinda old...I don't know what's new or good."
Kale Kale grinned and nodded as he turned back around to go back into the store. "Sure, no problem. What kind of RPG's do you like? There are a ton of them. There are silly ones and scary ones and epic ones. " His tail swished back and forth happily. Fleur "Um..." Fleur drawled, looking quite embarrassed and feeling very dumb right now. "I'm not sure what the difference is...I like the last one I played - it's like it takes place in the Old West..." Fleur really had no experience with anything other than shopping, and he was beginning to realize that was a grave problem. How was he to make friends if he had nothing to talk about but pretty clothes? And, from his experience, no other boys shared his enthusiasm about shopping. Kale Kale didn't seem to care that the older boy didn't know what the differance was in the types he named off. He tapped his chin as he looked over the hundereds of games on display in the store. His ears suddenly standing striaght up and forwared. "I know. How about you start with telling me the ones you have played and liked. Then we can go from there." Kale grinned proud he had thought of a way to help remidie the situation. Fleur Fleur's little ears perked up at Kale's suggestion. He could do that! "Oh...the Old West game I loved was Wild ARMs. I really liked Suikoden too." He thought for a brief moment before remembering something. "Oh, and I really liked the Mega Man games Bah got me! She makes robots just like in those games!"
