why take up room in ur sideboard when u need land in the deq? they still produce mana and u can use it to pay for ur colorless parts. when he sides in, all he has to do is fetch them instead of forests or get both...

The general consensus is "Why waste sideboard space when you can just pop in a certain colored land in a green deck and easily fetch it". Sideboarding lands in is a bad idea, in that you need your metagame slots. I'd actually only run 1 swamp, since you're using birds (or should be) so getting black is no biggie. The beacon decks I've seen run 2-3 Jitte and 3-4 Sword of Fire/Ice. for instance: Artifacts 4 Sword Of Fire And Ice Creatures 4 Birds Of Paradise 3 Eternal Witness 1 Fangren Firstborn 4 Sakura-tribe Elder 4 Troll Ascetic 4 Viridian Zealot Legendary Artifacts 4 Umezawa's Jitte Legendary Creatures 1 Dosan The Falling Leaf 2 Iwamori Of The Open Fist Sorceries 4 Beacon Of Creation 2 Kodama's Reach 1 Rude Awakening Basic Lands 20 Forest 1 Swamp Legendary Lands 1 Okina, Temple To The Grandfathers Sideboard: 3 Aether Vial 3 Engineered Explosives 2 Sword Of Light And Shadow 4 Cranial Extraction 3 Plow Under The 2 Kodama's Reach, random Fangren Firstborn, random Dosan, and Iwamori over Karstoderm (now, it would be replaced with Stampeding Serow) is a bit wierd. This is from the France Regionals (1st place), and honestly, some of the card choices are a little wierd. But hey, whatever. I would've taken out the Fangren for another Kodama's Reach, not run Engineered Explosives, and up the numbers on Sword of Light/Shadow and Plow Under (but I'd have to test it.). Beacon Green's an alright deck, but I"m not sure I'm liking it too much. Personally, I'm playing 4 color control at regionals, now that I've finally aquired some Cranial Extractions. I modified the Hana Kami/Gifts Ungiven/Utility deck to be more competitive and controlish that it's block constructed counterpart. It's fun, but I had a bad night tonight testing it, and changed it's construction a very large amount. smile Hopefully it'll stand and actually win a few games, I'm hoping.

1313.EXE -fair enough. see i'm plannin' on buildin' a decent black- cemetary rock deq. can u like hook me up on your vision. see i won't mind spendin' 200 tix. to built it. 3nodding hmm..like..old school rock or the newer rock? Newer rock would be Pernicious deeds, but older rock would use Phyrexian Plaguelord. You'd need some sort of really kick-a** token generator if you used Plaguelords (Beacon of Creation, definitely). You NEED duress, possibly distress (I'm assuming you're using MTGO, since you referenced Tickets), you need to see ifyou can get some Chainer's Edicts, the Cemetaries, Living Wish (if you can afford it), and Ravenous Baloth. Here's my idea of how it'd look....budgeted, of course. Land: 12 Swamp 11 Forest Creatures: 4 Sakura-Tribe Elder 4 Phyrexian Plaguelord 4 Troll Ascetic 4 Ravenous Baloth 2 Kodama of the North Tree Spells: 4 Duress 4 Chainer's Edict 4 Beacon of Creation 3 Kodama's Reach 2-3 Sensei's Divining Top 3 ??? 3 Oversold Cemetary that'd be my decklist, but I don't know what cards you have at your disposal. Sorry I just sorta jumped in, but I'm a big rock enthusiast. I've build all 3 different versions of the deck (Pyrexian Plaguelord, Pernicious Deed, Death Cloud), so I'm really familiar with it.

1313.EXE -well i'm plannin' on buildin' the ol' skoo' roc' deq. 3nodding Good God, man..your abbreviations rae killing me! USE A ******** G, FOR CHRISTS SAKE!.. lol xd anyway, well, you need at least 8-12 slots of creature kill (maybe more), token generator, land accel (8-12 slots), lots of utility creatures (Plaguelord, Baloth, Withered Wretch, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Haru-Onna, etc etc), and some draw (if you can get it, Night's Whisper, or something like that). If you're worried about equiptment (like Jitte and Swords) or other annoying artifacts, run Molder Slug (I'd run 3 in the sideboard). The build above is very rough, but it could work with some tweaking. I've never really spent a whole lot of time with the Plaguelord Rock (I much prefer to play Deed-Rock..but you have to sell your left testical/breast on MTGO to get a Pernicious Deed). Anything specific you want to do with the deck?
