Syam scratched the youngling behind the ear affectionately, "So what are you doing here, in the training area?" He asked. He hadn't noticed any scars on her, so this woman wasn't a warrior like himself, plus her only full grown gryphon was one that she had just acquired.
Circe suddenly reared up a bit, playfully, turning and cantering out away from the humans. Looking back she reared and screeched, spreading her wings with a "Want to play?" type attitude.

" I was hoping someone would help me to train Nanaki, " Starry said in a kind tone of voice, making a gesture to the large fire coloured gryffin. "..But I haven't met alot of nice people here in town. Most of the men that DO pay attention to me only pay attention to...." Starry stopped herself. She shook her head lightly. " I'm sorry I started to rant..." Zef chirped and made a purring type noise to indicate his pleasure. He flapped his wings cutely.
Nanaki observed the females' playfulness. He replied to the females' screech with a well placed squawk. Nanaki reared up, and had a face that said " bring-it ". He flapped his large wings playfully.

He raised a brow, "He won't be the only one that needs training you know." A lot of people didn't realize that a lot of the fighting was between the humans, Gryphons were usually just the gravy, "You'll need to train too." He glanced at her muscular legs and grinned a bit, "Who could blame them darling, with so much skin showing." Chuckling a bit he decided he'd be willing to help out a bit, "Well, I could do some training with you and Nanaki, if you like." He suggested lightly, shrugging. He had never taken on an apprentice, and many people would be disappointed that he had made such a decision.
Circe cantered toward him again, wings spread just a little to add her her aerodynamic-ness ((not a word I know xd )) Reaching Nanaki, she reared up, holding her wings out for balance and placing a paw on his head in a dominating manner.

Starry sighed quietly. " You'd really do that for me? " She couldn't believe her luck. She'd met a guy that was actually NICE. She glanced quickly at Syam upon hearing his last comment. Starry scrunched her face cutely, " Well, then tell Mother Nature to stop making the weather so darn warm. While you're at it you might as well tell my genetics to stop making my body so appealing..." She chickled to herself lightly.
Nanaki swiveled his peirced ears back. He didn't take lightly to the female trying to make him submit. Playfully or not. He stood there for alittle bit, his flame engulfed tail swaying. Nanaki started making a purring type noise and POUNCED upon the domineering female.

Syam gave her an mock horrified exression, "Why would I want her to do that, when you're so deliciously exposed for the world to enjoy." He teased and winked at her, then stood suddenly, glancing over to the Gryphons, "Yeah, I suppose a few training sessions to get you started couldn't hurt, however our partners look preoccupied," He was happy Circe had found a male that wouldn't back down, "So we'll start with your training. Any background in fighting?" He asked nonchalantly.
Circe squawked and allowed herself to be pushed back by the male, liking his dominant attitude. Not many males wanted to try to dominate her, despite it being something she liked. She locked her front claws onto his shoulders and chewed at his neck feathers, flapping her wings a bit to keep with balance.

Starry made a face and laughed. " I hope you know, I don't usually dress like this. Normally I dress somewhat baggy clothes. I'm pretty self-consciouss about my body.." She stood up in one fluid motion. Starry looked at the two gryffins playing and smiled. She looked back to Syam, " Fighting? " Starry pointed to her long, well muscled legs; " You think that good legs just run in the family..? " Starry smirked. Zef squawked. He wanted more attention.
Nanaki flicked his ears forward and squawked. His tail wagging furiously again, the flame upon the end of which seemed to dance. He held out his wings alittle further for some more balance, and pushed some more.

He smiled, "I see nothing for you to not want to flaunt." He eyed her long braid. If she wanted to compete eventually she would have to cut it, it would be too much of a hindrance in the field, but he supposed he wouldn't say that just yet. It was just training afterall. He cleared his throat, "No offense meant, Starry, but as impressive as those legs are, we're going to have to do real fighting, not just toning and training." He offered a half smile, then turned and headed toward the gear, "Got a preferred weapon?"
Circe saw her owner leading the human female away, then squawked indignantly, pulling off Nanaki and flicking her tail in annoyance. He was -her- partner! No female could possibly replace HER in his life! She seemed to forget all about Nanaki as she started to trot toward the duo.

Starry smiled abit, but noticed that Syam was eyeing her braid. She sighed. " I suppose I'll have to trim my hair sometime, won't I? " Starry asked with an inquisitive tone. She looked down at the ground momentarily. " No offense taken Syam, " Starry turned at looked the gear nearby. " Weapons...Hmmmmmm...." Zef chirped. He wanted to know what was going on.
Nanaki was perplexed. Why had the black female stopped playing. He watched curiously as the female started trotting over to his Mistress. His feathers ruffled. Nanaki trotted over to the two humans as well.

Syam nodded, "Yes, a weapon. You can use anything that isn't designed for throwing, throwing stars, throwing daggers. They make it less interesting. It's best to train with many different weapons and styles, but to specialize in one. I personally use the broadsword, but it's very heavy. Women tend to be faster." He turned and looked back at Starry, "Maybe a rapier, or sie?" He brainstormed.
Circe stopped short, bristling. She spread her wings and screeched loudly at the woman that was talking with her partner, still forgetting about Nanaki until he came up behind her.

Starry was about to open her mouth to answer Syam, when she had to suddenly cover her ears. She looked torwards the Gryffin that had emmited the screech. Starry looked at Circe, whom; had her wings spread out and had bristled her feathers. Circe had taken a threatening stance torwards her. The only thought that was reaching her mind, oh scratch that she wasn't thinking anything.
Nanaki took direct notice of what the large female was doing. He didn't like it at all. Nanaki marched in front of the black female and took a stance in front of her. He didn't look happy at all. He didn't like the threatening attitude the gryffin was taking to his owner. Nanaki's ears swiveled back, he fluffed himself out. He also spread his wings. Nanaki emmited a low growling hiss. His tail flame burned quite brightly.

Before Circe could do anything else, Syam strode past Starry, past Nanaki without even glancing at him and stopped right in front of Circe. He took her beak in his hand and guided her head toward him, "Calm down girl." He stroked her head feathers, calming the bristling so she smoothed out, "Easy, we're just training, it's ok." He said soothingly. She drooped her head and butted against him, as though apologizing. She didn't fully understand what he said, but she understood the tone and felt silly for jumping to conclusions. "It's ok girl, go back to playing, nothing's wrong."
Circe looked visibly smaller as she smooched up to her owner, like a chick. Eventually she pulled away from him and turned to go sit in the shade, embarrassed that she had overreacted. She still didn't like the female, but her partner never lied to her, so she figured she could live with that. Looking melancholy she rested her head on her paws. Nanaki probably hated her for threatening his owner, and she didn't blame him. She sighed loudly, a puff of dust billowing out in front of her.
"Sorry about that." Syam said, turning to Starry, "She gets really protective of me. Come across too many Gryphons that have been abandonned because the owner got married and the spouse didn't approve of the warrior lifestyle." He offered a half-smile, "You ok? You look shaken up." He said, stepping closer to her.

Starry stood there for a minute until Nanaki nudged her lightly. She heaved a heavy sigh, and aomewhat slouched upon the fire coloured gryffin. Starry looked to Syam, " I..I'm fine. I've just..never had a Gryffin confront me like that. " She swallowed lightly and straightened up. She looked at the gear again, trying to decide what weapon she preferred better. She looked back to Syam, " I couldn't imagine abadoning my boys..." Zef huddled by Starry's legs. He didn't like what had just transpired. He chirped and clawed at his owners feet. Starry took notice of Zef and lifted him up and kinda cradled him. She calmed him down with soft pettings, and a soothing tone to her voice as she spoke to him helped as well. Starry knew Zef couldn't really understand her, but she knew he understood tones.
Once Nanaki was sure his owner was alright, he looked over at the female gryffin. His ears twitched in aggitated manner. He didn't know wheather to trust the female again or not. Nanaki walked over to the gryffin slowly, giving her one last chance.

He frowned as well, "Circe is the best thing that's ever happened to me. I'd never leave her. But she's seen so much heartbreak... I guess even gryphons have problems." He watched Nanaki head over, hoping that he would understand, "Ah... any idea's on weapons?" He asked for the third time. He didn't sound impatient, but he wanted to try and continue as though nothing had happened. Sometimes, dwelling on an event caused it to worsen, not get better.
Circe looked up to see Nanaki coming toward her. She lowered her head and pressed her ears back, feeling bad. She couldn't help but look away as she was thoroughly embarrassed by what had transpired. She had no right to act up like that. With a deep, regretful whuff, and another puff of sand dust, she rested her large head back on her paws.

Starry placed Zef down onto the sandy floor. She looked back to Syam, " Any Katars? Or any other Claw weapons...? " Starry inquired. She quickly glanced at Nanaki whom was heading over to Circe. She sighed. " If a spouse can't take the lifestyle, then they don't understand there partner. I suppose Gryffins can have troubles too, they have thoughts and emotions just like any other creature within this world..."
As Nanaki got close he saw that Circe had noticed his approached. He could tell in her behaivour that she was sorry. He glanced back at his owner, and then looked back to Circe. Nanaki twitched his ears. He huffed to himself. After a few moments he resumed his walk over to the large female. He could forgive her for acting so rashly, but he would NEVER forget. Once he got close to Circe, he just kinda stood there; staring at her. His tail swished slightly, and he clawed at the ground beside her. As if to say, ' may-I-lay-beside-you? '.

Syam stepped away from Starry, she seemed to not notice the close proximity. Instead, he nodded to her question, "Yeah, this is a private training area, so they have everything available to borrow for training purposes. You'll have to eventually get your own though." He headed toward a large shed and opened it, "Ah-hah!" He disappeared inside, then came out holding two medium well-used katars, "Do you go double or single?" He asked, hefting them. They seemed slightly off balance, and one was loose... they'd have to do for now though. It was just forms practice anyway.
Circe whuffed again, as though saying it was ok to lay next to her, but she couldn't bring herself to look at him. She played in the sand with one claw to avoid having to look at the other Gryphon, and readjusted her wings nervously. He still had an angry vibe about him that just made her feel worse.
