Greg noticed the staring that Tycho was doing, but didn’t say anything. If Dante wanted him to stop he would tell him to stop. It wasn’t Greg’s place to police who watched him. Besides they all stared when they first met Elves. He had certainly done so. Although he had stared at Dante more so than the others, for reasons that he wasn’t going to be yelling to the students any time soon. When Tycho looked at him, however, he smiled at the boy, who promptly looked back to Dante. Oh well. Greg looked back at the other student for a moment.
“If you really want a look at a crow, and I mean the ones with feathers, not the one with the robes, just get some bread and feed them. They won’t leave you alone after that. Believe me.” He smiled. Nathaniel had said that he wanted to look at the birds, right? Well Greg didn’t think that grabbing one out of midair would be a good thing so he might as well tell him how to catch one another way. He looked back at Dante as the other mentioned Elven and couldn’t help but take a crack at that comment.
“So that was what it meant.” Greg said, a smirk on his lips. He fairly whispered the last part to Dante alone. “I was wondering why you where yelling it last ni-”
“It can mean many things.” Irame said as she came up to the group. She had been relived to find that the student that she had bumped into had been one of her more advanced ones. After a brief explanation he said that it was fine and whished her sons a happy begetting day. Then she had seen Gregs red hair above the rest of the crowd. She smiled at Greg, who smiled down at her as well. She wasn’t short, it was just that he was really very very tall. She then looked over at Dante and bowed her head. “Mae govanne, heru toren.” She said smiling. “I trust that the opening ceremony went well with out me?”

Dante gave Greg an icy glare before smiling at his Irame and ruffling her hair--the only signs of true affection he gave. It was funny how much more gentle he looked without a permenant scowl or flat, vapid stare on his face.
"As well as it can go, what with Norman's tendency to be so long-winded," he joked, then chuckled shyly.

Irame smiled brightly at Dante as she let her hair be ruffled. “He does seem to have longer speeches each year, I would fear to listen to one in Elven. It would take hours. I simply hope that he did not notice that I was gone.” She shrugged. “But if he did then there is not much that I can do about it.” She looked over at the students that Dante and Greg were talking to.
“Ah, Tycho, a new student in our magic department, correct?” She said smiling. “Elen sila lumenn omentilmo.” She looked over at Nathaniel. “I’m sorry I don’t know you. Saesa omentien lle.” She said bowing her head. “It is a pleasure to meet you. Both of you.”

Tycho's mind eagerly tucked that little bit of information about elves away for later inspection. Heru. So elves had their own language. Recalling that the elves had been sealed away until just recently, he wondered how they'd learned English so quickly. Perhaps they just could, or maybe today's English wasn't all that different from what the humans had been speaking before the Elves had been sealed.
The human teacher, whose name he didn't know, whispered something that Tycho didn't catch, but it elicited an icy look from the elf.
Tycho quieted all this thought as another elf (a female!) entered the conversation. To his surprise, Professor Dante ruffled her hair. It was such a familiar, human motion, that Tycho immediately guessed that they were related. She was very beautiful, and Tycho noticed with some surprise that her eyes were mismatched. One was blue, the other red. He felt a kind of kinship there, considering that he also had a rather odd eye color.
When she turned to him, and greeted both Nathaniel and himself in something elven, Tycho immediately returned the bow, but at the waist.
"Nice to meet you, too!" he replied, completely heartfelt. "Will you be one of my... 'heru's?"

Nathaniel backed himself out of the elfin conversation for he had no stomach for it honestly. His interest had been peaked in the birds and heightened by his need to be polite and honorable. Clearly Tycho had a weakness, and this thing was his fascination with the elf people. It was with a smirk that he watched the tough grudging boy from before turn into an awe-struck child whose wide-eyes were on the biggest present under the Christmas tree. The affect was startling to say the very least.
"Ah yes." He smiled at the other professor. "I'm not sure the other crows are as interesting as Professor Araquenosse's birds though. Do all the crows upon this island speak, Professor Larine?" He was certainly the epitome of manners and did not have to seek out lessons in his mind when they were already features and habits ingrained into his soul. Slightly resentful of them would not be an understatement, however the whole nobility act certainly got old after a while.

Dante's lips thinned at Nathaniel's question. "No. Although I doubt that is something for Professor Larine to be proud of. I certainly hope you'll take your time to...reprogram them," he said.
He sent a pointed glare in Greg's direction. Of course, it was a silent affirmation that 'I luv Teytey,' 'Yo mama,' and 'Bedroom now," were NOT acceptable phrases.

(Oh I wanted to mention that Too-chan and I had a little miscommunication. Irame is a Heterochromia but she’s got one blue eye and one brown eye, not red. ^^; But if want to keep thinking of it as red the go right ahead.
@Aisha: too bad her eye color's gonna stay that way. D< I never said top change it, I just mentioned it. ^^ )
Irame smiled at Tycho. He seemed to be a nice boy and very energetic too. She felt a brief stab of remorse as she looked at him. She missed her own children, last year while she was away at the school the two had started to speak and she had missed it. But this was more important, she told herself, she could spend time with Gildhros and Glorlanthir after the aliens had been dealt with…. She forced the thoughts from her mind as Tycho asked about her being one of his ‘heru’s’.
“Professor Javelin is actually your going to be your heru as, if I remember correctly you’re in the magic research department. I’m actually the head of the magic department, so I will probably be seeing you a bit anyway, and if you ever want to talk to me please do for I’m sure that this must be hard for many first year students.” She was talking a bit much, but she supposed that it was okay. After all Tycho didn’t look like he was too upset or annoyed at talking to her.
Greg grimaced slightly at the mention of how Dante’s birds could speak. The other professor hadn’t been too happy when Greg had shown him that he had taught his birds to talk. He had been so ‘not happy’ that he had thrown a leather scroll holder after Greg, resulting with a very satisfied Dante and Greg having a large Elven crest imprinted on his forehead for a day. All he had taught the birds to do was say a few phrases.
Although looking back ‘I luv teytey’, ‘Yo mama’, and ‘Bedroom now’ probably hadn’t been the best choices to teach the crows. Oh well, what was done was done.
“None of the other birds on the island that I know speak.” He said as he restrained himself from touching his forehead where the scroll holder had hit. “Althought I don’t think that his crows are much different from other crows. They might live a bit longer, what with them being a gift from another Elf, but I’m not really sure. But anyway if you want to see them for your self just do what I said, or, if no one’s around, I suppose that you could grab them out of the air and run off with one.” He smiled a little at that one. Ah Dante had been surprised when his 'crownapped' crows had all been returned with little blue bows around their necks and little flowers in the bows.

Rylenn tried to keep to himself.. to see all the sights. He didn't know what to do nor what to think. It was.. all becoming too much. There were too many people and he knew not a one. He wondered if this was a good idea. He didn't regret his actions, but he just wished he had talked someone into sneaking on board and posing as a student.
His eyes flicked around from left to right. It seemed everyone was grabbing someone to talk to now that the headmaster was done speaking. That was fine for him. He slipped to the back of the crowd and looked around. It was a beautiful place. He wanted to explore, find the hiding spots, and just.. take it in. He knew that it would be difficult to do this since he was expected to stay here.
He began wandering around hearing snippets of conversation and trying to stop himself from laughing. These people... were amusing to say the least. He might be able to loosen up and relax here. Maybe. He looked around and found himself at the food table. He picked up a few things and stuffed them into his pockets before grabbing more and some tea. He found himself a niche and curled up. He nibbled on his food. He watched the others, always an outsider. He was used to the feeling though. He was never really wanted. It was obvious from his past.

The mention of the Loud One managed to make Ty wince. He wasn't looking forward to taking lessons from her, though he knew that the things worth learning usually had some sort of difficulty involved. If it meant that he would have a chance to meet other races, then he would deal with the Loud One, he decided.
The open invitation of Ty being able to seek Irame out was received politely with another bow. "Thank you." he said, and added. "What should I call you then?" Tycho had realized that he hadn't heard the female elf's name, and if he was going to find her later on, it would be easier if he had her name.

Nathaniel listened with a polite intensity. He had no intention of being rude but he had begun to realize that it would be futile to find another bird like Dante's and so thus grew disinterested. If it was undoable then he wasn't going to waste time on research that would do no good. He needed practicality. It was his only chance of survival in a world such as this.
He nodded appropriately and then found the conversations turning silly, or drifting and fading. His eyes half-closed but with a horrified small sound he brought himself to attention and bowed low to those he was surrounded by. "Forgive me, but I'm rather tired and I think I should like to get settled into my dormitory. It was quite a pleasure to talk with all of you." His emerald eyes were lifted and shown brightly at the others, at which point he straightened up and turned to leave. It didn't take him but a second to reach the door. He paused though, wondering if perhaps he should try to make friends and then deciding against it.
Friends were burdens that got in his way. They didn't belong and they never did him a lick of good ... and somehow... they always let you down. Like family. Trust could never be earned and with that evergrand smile he looked back at the room. Ah what a sweet life he'd entered.

Dante gave Nathaniel a rather scrutinizing look before nodding. "All right. But be sure to at least introduce yourself to the other new students. Friends or no, they will be the ones you'll be working with--and it is always nice to get along with one's acquaintences, lest solitude cause the entire company to fall apart. I learned that the hard way."
With a final nod, he turned and thought he caught a flash of brownish-green. So...another new recruit. He jerked his head at the student--he wasn't particularly sure if he had reviewed this one or not, but he'd recognize--before turning and moving on. It was not particularly good to force those who did not want socialization into such.

He guessed that he was caught. He padded over and looked them all over. "Uh.. hi.. I'm.. Rylenn MeGreggors..." He grinned sheepishly as he pushed a fallen hair from his eyes. He looked.. nervous. Then he realized... His eyes widened and he poked Dante's ear. "You're... you're..." His eyes widened more. "YOU ARE AN ELF!" He seemed.. so amazed. He couldn't.. He poked the ear again and again. "It's not fake? I mean.. you're really an elf??" He had so many questions.. but where to begin...
(( And Rylenn's first fangirl moment happens.. >>;; ))

Irame smiled at Tycho as she answered. “My name is Irame Ameanosse. You can call me which ever you prefer or professor or some such thing. I don’t mind either way.” She shrugged a little. It really didn‘t bother her either way so she didn‘t mind. “You wouldn’t be upset if I called you penneth sometimes do you?” She asked. “It means little one in Elven, and I sometimes call the newer students it. If you would rather I didn’t then I would like know so that I can make a note of it.”
Meanwhile Greg had wandered off after Dante, and he chuckled at the reaction that the new student had. “Ah, Dante.” He said pinching patting Dantes cheek. “It seems that you get this reaction everywhere. You should just have some other Elf go ahead of you to take the fans.” He smiled and leaned onto Dantes shoulder “Then again you’re so cute that people might still make a big fuss over you” He smiled and resisted the urge to pinch Dantes cheek.

Dante felt something inside him snap and he grabbed Greg's wrist with almost lightning speed and strength. And held it. HARD.
"Yes, they are real. They are called my ears. And I am Professor Araquenosse. Rylenn...hmmm." Dante frowned thoughtfully as he tried to think. Was that the student who...dammit. He had made it a point to at least retain the name of every student that came across his desk, but perhaps it would have helped if he'd had a more photographic memory as well. It made it difficult to distinguish just which student was interested in pursuing what career.
"....I'm sorry," he said slowly, releasing Greg's hand and shooting him a warning glance. "I...recognize your name, at least. I'm afraid I don't recall your area of interest, though. Pray tell, would you remind me?"

Rylenn jumped and blushed brightly. "I'm so sorry.. please forgive me. I didn't mean to offend you Professor. I just.." He blushed and murmured. He blushed more at the mention of his interest. "I... don't know, sir, truthfully. I'm here to find myself and find stability. I hope to find my intrest. I know.. I am in the Magic school... I.. I like.." He paused. "I was raised Catholic.. strict Catholic. I was always interested in angels and demons.. I wasn't allowed much as a kid. My father felt such things were frivilous.."
