Matsuko let out a small, inaudible sigh of relief as the gun disappeared. Okay, maybe we're getting somewhere now. She thought, leaning against the wall of the alley. But then again... she says she doesn't know anything. This is turning out to be a waste of my time. My bounty's getting further and further away. Either way, the hunter found this woman more interesting anyways. "So what were you doing down this alley in the first place?" she questioned slowly. Matsuko didnt really expect an answer considering how grudging the woman had been to give up even her name. Still, she was obviously familiar with the surroundings. If she was local, she might know of any vampiric activity Matsuko could check out. ------------------------------------------------- "So how many do you need?" Zak questioned, pulling out a handheld PC from under the counter and acessing the company's order form. It was an honest question but there were also other motives behind it. A number would give him a better idea of what kind of 'demonstration' the pacifists might be organizing. Then, he could either decide to get in on the action or sell his information to the council. He saw her pick the wig up and gently took it from her hand before placing it on the counter. "I'm serious, you really look better without it." he said with a laugh and a grin.

Sitting in the corner of one of the inns above ground at this moment she looks down into the class of water she was holding between her hands. A very thin smooth layer of ice came on the water as she then poked it making little ice cubs "that will keep my water cold" she said softly to herself.
Watching the icecubs softly going in circles in the glass she then takes a slight sip of the cold water, feeling the cold water going down her throat, through her body as then the cold feeling dissapeared at the moment her body had heaten the water to the same temprature as her body. Giving a slight sigh she takes one of the icecubs and chews on it silently as she then finishes her drink.
Getting on her feet and swinging her little bag on her back she walks to the inn's bar and puts down the glass there, saying bye to the inn owner while she stepped outside through the door, looking around in the silent alley. "Wonder what will happen this evening. You never know what the bloodthursted vampires have in mind this time" with this she wandered off.

Bender carried his victem off into the shadows, he didnt want her feet to drag. HE walked for quite a while, untill he was sure they were out of earshot, even if she did scream. Bender threw the girl hard against a wall.
"Would you stop your incesant squirming!!"
He took a faew steps tword the weakened girl and snached up her blades.
"What were you going to do with these? Give me a good shave?"
A hushed but evil laugh echoed on the cold concrete walls. He stuck the daggers inside his coat, on special sheathes that looked like they had been made for just such an ocasion.
"Now that you are harmless again, what is your name and purpose for being here?, he says as he moves to inches from your face.

One light eyebrow rose slightly on the pale face as Vena thought to herself, I could ask the same of you... She had absolutely no intention of disclosing her real purpose in that alley. I mean, honestly, she thought to herself. You don't walk up to a bounty hunter and say,'Hi, I'm a vampire and I'm on my way to go hide with my friends, a bunch of thieves, gangsters, cutthroats, and other illegal types, who just happen to be vampire-sympathizers.' Great way to get yourself killed real fast. Her face was as immutable as an alabaster carving, displaying none of the thoughts that danced in her head, nor the ironic smile that formed only on the inside. However, before she could frame a suitable excuse, she suddenly realized that something was very wrong...
"That other girl," she snapped out, tensing, her gun dropping into her hand. "She's gone."

Dragging herself through the silent alleys she suddenly hears a kind of semi fight. Should I go or not? She thought to herself, wondering a little what was happening "hell why not" she muttered to herself as she turned on her heel and walked towards were the sound was.
Reaching the beginning of the alley were she now heard voices she looked around the corner and leaned against the building wall while she watched what was happening. Watching the vampire having fun around with the young woman "You vampires are all the same" she said coldly, knowing that he would be able to sense that she's a vampire herself as well.

Matsuko glanced back, more than a little alarmed. "Damn, she'd better not have run off. She can't handle herself out here, she's too inexperienced." The hunter was about to run straight down the alley in search of the girl but she quickly stopped, peering down a side alley. The dim, flickering light strip overhead just barely lit up two deep grooves in the ground. The girl hadn't run away, she'd been dragged off. Probably by that murderer. She thought with a sick feeling. For some reason, Matsuko was beginning to feel responsible for the young hunter. Without another thought, she began running silently down the narrow alley, hoping the murderer hadn't had the chance to finish her off yet.

Not only did she hate vampires, but he stole her daggers. Nobody steels her daggers. Devi stood up using the wall for support and stared back at the vampire with burning hatred. It looked as if she was glowing with an inner fire that seemed to complement her stare. Devi took a step away from the wall and towards the vampire, then flung a fireball at him as he was distracted by a voice of to the side. Using the confusion as an opportunity to dart past the vampire, snatching up her daggers as she ran by.

Vena moved to follow Matsuko, silent as ever, but just before she reached the alleyway, the beggar boy she had sent on an errand minutes ago was at her side, whispering something in her ear. As she listened, her green eyes narrowed and she tensed. Nodding to the boy, she stepped back from the alley, not even looking in. If Timmy said there was a vampiric vampire hunter in there, she was going to trust him and make a break for it.
Her hand ached from the nearness of the silver bullets in her handgun as she silently stepped backward into the alley the others had found her in. Quietly she thanked the boy, and, slipping a little money into his hand and giving him a small push off toward the streets where food-vendors and low-end bakeries could be found, she checked that no one is watching, opened the door she had been leaning against minutes before, and disappeared.
When the door eased shut, there was no trace that Vena had ever been there, and on the other side of the dark, dingy little alley, the old homeless man, who had returned to his usual spot, rolled over in his sleep and began to snore.

Matsuko had just begun to make out two forms in the darkened alley when there was a burst of flame. With a yell of surprise, she ducked behind a pile of rubble. She peered over it again in time to see the young hunter running in her direction. She waited until the girl passed befroe darting out behind her and following, not wanting to call out to her in case she gave away their position to the man.

She could hear the foots steps right behind her. Devi snuck a glance over her shoulder thinking the vampire was giving chase and was about to fling another fireball when she saw it was Matsuko. Oh...Now they finally notice I was gone. Pft. Well she couldn't really complain though so she just kept running.

Many doors and tunnels later, Vena had managed to get far away from the little alley. Irrationally, one would expect it to be darker in the tunnels below the "streets" of the Tenth District, but underground is, well... underground. In fact, the earth and rock over, under, and around the Tenth District -- all of the districts, really -- was riddled with little maintenance and storage tunnels, accessways, and bolt-holes, many of which had not been used in ages. Well, not for their original uses, anyway; the "underground," the parts of society no longer this side of the law, had found them very useful... as did fugitives such as Vena herself.
As she inched through a particularly small open space in an old cave-in, she grinned to herself, remembering the first time she had found her way into the underworld of the Underworld. A short chuckle escaped her at that little turn of phrase. underworld of the Underworld... I like that. She exhaled completely, flattening her body to fit through the last tight stretch. For a heart-stopping moment, she was caught, pinned deep under the Tenth District in a tunnel few knew existed any more. Then, with a bit of wriggling, she was free again.
Dang... she thought to herself as she brushed the little shards of rock from her hoodie and pants, then sat down on a flat bit of the rockslide to take off her boot and shake out a rock. I may have to stop using this one. I'm not as tiny as I was last time I was in Tenth... As she sat back up from retieing her boot, she shoved the deep hood back off her head, running her fingers through the sweat-damp curls. Under the sweat and grime, glints of bright gold could be seen, but there was no one to see them in that lonely maintenance tunnel, for it lead to the bowels of a power plant that had been abandoned like a sinking ship when what was declared "geological activity" made it unsafe to work there. Vena bared her lips in a feral grin. Ice formed in underwater aquifers could cause a lot of havoc when it started biting the rock in the right place... But there was still quite a bit left of the place, and she had a bit of a safe flop set up there.
With the abandoned, derelict power plant as her goal, she stood up, brushed off her pants, and set off along the tunnel, choosing the next downward fork instead of the upward path that lead to her original destination.

((Oh yes, that's right....I did it...lol Not exactly sure WHAT ..but I did it))
Landing without so much as a sound of rushing fabric from the second storey balcony a grimace quickly spread across her face when she saw that she had landed in complete darkness. These are the hunts that she had enjoyed the most. Her opponent would leave her in the dark thinking that she was completely helpless and she would find the best place for a defensive attack while she waited on the other to think that she hadn't the slightest clue as to where they were hiding. There was the odd occasion when they would land and abandon the alley way to leave her to think that they were in the dark, but this had only happened a handful of times and she was not about to make that mistake again. Crouching in the darkness she waited for their attack as she watched the vampire with her sensors; her mechanical eye showing her a computed and accurate image which her human eye could not; displaying the constant stance of her enemy and any and all changes that they made while she waited, watching by the use of high frequency electrical impulses which were specially designed to fight against vampires. The pitch was high enough that they would not notice and it gave her an almost flawless image of the creature she hunted. Her breathing shallow, she held the bulk of her mass on her enhanced left leg, still crouching and waited for it to move. Finally it stirred like the shadows of fabric caught in the vicious winds which howled above their heads and came up behind her, baring fangs and daggers. Launching herself into the air several feet above its head, her feet easily flying through the air, spinning over her head as her arms reached out for the startled and seemingly frightened vampire while her hands tightly grasped its chin and the back of its head. When she landed she brought his head back down towards her now bent knee as she resumed her earlier crouch. The sudden change of direction sprained its neck until her hands could finish the job and turn it the rest of the way, shattering the vertebrae. Still alive, she reached down and took its own knives to decapitate the head and removed its heart through a cavity also formed by its own weapons. Once finished, she reached into the single breast pocket just over her heart within her black leather trench coat and withdrew a small steel flask, slowly untwisting the top as she starred down into its now almost completely lifeless eyes. Holding the top in one hand and the flask in another, she slowly spilled its contents into the cavity formed from the removal of its heart and watched as the silver slowly flowed through its veins. In somewhat of a hurry, she picked up the head and put it inside a backpack lined with a removal plastic lining along with the heart before Kae'ri moved the body to rest against the wall behind one of the old dumpsters, slinging the backpack over her shoulders and made her way down the alley way to meet her current employer with a successful grin on her face.
~~ Flash back ~~
Sitting at the small seemingly rundown cafe and in plain sight of anyone who decided to pass her by, Kae'ri waited for her subject to enter the dimly lit pit of filth that she had to stir in until his arrival. It had taken at least forty-five minutes to get there and the men waiting for him had been anxious, thinking that he wouldn't show. She had been told that she couldn't act until he was away from these men as he had need to make contact and initiate the first stages of the small rebellion's attack on the larger, stronger affiliates higher up in the hierarchy. The meeting took a good hour and she had left shortly after she heard what was necessary to confirm her future actions and her earned bounty. Waiting just outside of the back doors, she waited for him to come out and followed him until he took to the back alleyways; just as she had been instructed he would. Following him for a solid half hour before she made him notice her she began her chase, heading deeper and deeper into the shadows.

Matsuko let the girl continue running for a few minutes, vaguely wondering if she had any idea of where she was going. It couldn't hurt as long as Matsuko knew where they were. The dark walls of the tunnel-like alleys were simply a blur as they ran, every place seeming the same as the last. Luckily, every so often the alleys would meet a main street Matsuko recognized so she kept running silently behind the young hunter. Once they reached a part of the district she didn't know however, the hunter dropped a weary arm on the girls shoulder to stop her from running. "Are we going anywere? Or are we just going away?" she questioned, wating to know if the girl had anything in mind. She struggled to slow her breathing as she waited for the girls respone.

Devi kept on running. She really had no idea where she was going but she didn't let that stop her. Devi had no idea how far she had gone or where she currently was when Matsuko finally stopped her. Devi tensed at first, havinng completly forgotten that Matsuko had followed her. But she quickly loosened up and shrugged her arm off. "Of course I know where I'm going!" Devi lied, for it was obvious she didn't. after regaining her breath she turned a full circle trying to get some idea as to where they were. "I just must have...taken a wrong turn someplace..."
