I thought it was funny! (Especially the my real name is Gerry part... people are so DUMB!) blaugh Will Ferrel rocks my socks off. Trust me, I love POTO as much (perhaps more) than all of you here. I'm okay with poking fun at it. As long as it doesn't cut too deep.

I didn't find it funny at all.
I found the part where he said "I don't know the name of it," kind of insulting.
As if he were above such music.
But meh, I take everything Phantom related seriously.

Dude. It was a friggin' parody. Not finding it funny is one thing. But finding it insulting is a bit...extreme?
I dunno, people will have their opinions, but still, it wasn't meant to insult PotO, it was meant to make fun of Gerik. There's a difference.
And anyway, PotO is not real, so it seems a bit strange that people would find a take on it insulting.

I don't find this insulting, and I too take poto seriously. Some of it was actually funny but I did find parts stupid. It wasn't hilarious in my opinion though, it wasn't quite that funny, but still funny.

I found that it was totally lame...I'm just not very amused by Will Ferrell
But I do admit that I liked the part where he said, "Man, this mask it killing me!" right in the middle of the song.
Otherwise, nope. Just not side-splitting in my opinion. I'm really surprised Will Ferrell had the guts to even do that though, considering he didn't even know the song very well...

I think his "not knowing the song" was part of it. The man may not be that funny, but he does have a set on him. Not many would dare tread on Webber like that.

Kiss_by_a_Rose rofl I love Will Ferrell. He's so funny. Ever seen Anchorman? SO FUNNY. I pretty much swore that after seeing the part in the commercial where he says, "Scotch, scotch, scotch" and so on that I would never see that movie. I had an urge to smash the TV in when I saw that. And I agree, I liked how he actually had the guts to do a spoof like that.

And seriously guys, lighten up. Phantom gets mocked in Pinky & The Brain, as well as Family Guy, too.

Okay, I watched it... He needs to keep his comedy to the movies... Not bring it to the Phantom... Phantom of the Opera is a serious and sad story for most of us... Please no one yell at me, but in the video he gives the great Phantoms a bad name, like Michael Crawford, Hugh Panaro, ect... I was really hoping that he wasn't the Phantom... But I guess he is... I've seen the broadway twice, and I'm not going again until he's off the tour

Howard McGillin and John Cudia are the two current US Phantoms.

And anyway, he's doing a take on Gerard Butler's portrayal, not anyone else's. And I wouldn't be inclined to refer to Butler as one of the "great" Phantoms.
