Farlest would probably have readily agreed with Wei on the subject of Latin. He wasn't bad at languages, he just didn't really like studying ones that were no longer actively in use.
Unconsciously mimicking the other boy's actions and fiddling with his own hair, he tilted his head, listening intently. "Oooh. What style of Tai Chi? And are you acquainted with the sword forms?" Tai Chi was something that Farlest had been interested in at one time, but he'd been ushered off to Tae Kwan Do and jujitsu classes instead...the preferences of his mother and later...his father.

Wei looked back to the screen and his notepad idly taking notes. Gods it's been so long since he's indulged in a proper lesson of tai chi. He promptly leaned onto one hand, gazing at the words and saying the roots in his head. Latin was so complicated. "Wu Tai Chi. The sword techniques? No, my parents though I was too young...and even when I got older my American blood did not please any Sword Masters to even want to train me." Thus why he had many private lessons. The private teachers tended to not hold any prejudice against Americans, it was almost like all of China knew that he wasn't a pure bred.
He scowled at the thought of how his true father had cursed him, forcing the anger into angry strokes of his characters while taking more notes.

Farlest frowned, moving to take a few notes as well, and then writing out a single word that he thought he'd rather like to remember for later: 'Desiderium'. "Ah, that really is a shame..." He murmured, "I always thought that that would be something worth pursuing...the sword styles are so very beautiful." Not to mention it was good exercise as well, and Far liked to keep himself in shape...just a mite.
Noting the other boy's shift of emotion, Far bit his lip, concern creeping into green eyes. "Are you quite alright?" A gentle inquiry.

Wei stopped in his note taking, looking towards the other fellow. "A-ah. Just...sorry, thinking about how my lineage has effected my life angers me sometimes." It did. To be discriminated in his home town so much just because of a father he never knew. All because of the American stereotype. Wei sighed. His country could be full of a**l retentive jerks most of the time. He returned studying the Latin in front of him.
"I'm sure if you really wanted to learn the sword techniques you could. Though best to find a master in the US, many of the Asian masters are picky about their students. Unless your elite in the US." One day he might just do that. If he ever really got the chance. The states certainly held more opportunity for him that his home town.

Farlest smiled sympathetically, "Well...I can't say that my...lineage, per say, has affected my life, but my parents and the way they brought me up certainly has." The dark-haired young man reached over to touch the other's hand. Touch was a powerful conveyor of emotions and feelings, and Far tended to use it without thinking about it.
"And I suppose I could, though at the moment, I think I should concentrate on my studies, I struggle enough with those as it is." He smiled wryly, brushing hair back behind his ears that had fallen into his eyes. It always seemed to be doing that, and bar putting it up somehow (which made him look more girly still), it would continue to do so.

Wei's eyes followed the other's hand, slowly moving his own back. He wasn't very fond of touch, especially when it was from someone he didn't know.
Wei nodded, going back to his own studies. "Latin is indeed a rather complicated language. But understanding it is essential for my chosen path."

Farlest noted this, and slowly withdrew his fingers, biting his lip slightly. He hadn't meant to offend...this was just, the way he was. "Sorry..." He murmured, eyes flitting from hand to face.
Writing up a few more words, he then turned back with another question. "Complicated in an interesting way...it's fascinating how it relates to the romance languages. Uhm...what is your chosen path, by the by?" Curious as always and definitely not afraid to ask.

The brunette sighed, eyes flitting away for a moment. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes, the other currently reminded him of some of the girls in his old school. The ones who were brave enough to actually attempt to talk to him, but then they'd try to touch him. They always got that disappointed and hurt look on his face.
Blatantly he thought that his attitude would convey his beliefs. It wasn't as if that just because someone was interacting he'd do a complete 180 and become this wonderful nice person. Wei just wasn't that type of guy.
He focused back on the irritating subject known as Latin until the other's question caught his ear. "Science. More specifically I aim to go into the medical system."

Farlest, however, was not flirting, and he was not so easily put off. Wei wasn't the only one in all his young years that had rejected his touch, and Far had come to accept that some people were just like that. With an odd little smile, he tilted his head, brushing unruly bangs from his eyes.
"Ah, Science...so...you want to be a doctor? Or something else to do with the medical profession. I think that's a very good course of study to pursue. The medical field needs more who would work it." He said quietly, making it quite clear that though he was disappointed that the other wasn't welcome to touch didn't mean that Far crossed Wei off his possible friends list.

Wei set his work down, expertly stretching and massaging his hands for a moment. He turned ever so slightly towards the longed-haired male. "Yes, I plan to follow the same path of my father. He had always said that the best things that have happened in his life was because he was a doctor and researcher. I also plan on dabble into medical research."

Far smiled wistfully at the other's words, shifting slightly to meet Wei's gaze. "Ah. So your father was an admirable man then..." He trailed off, green eyes going distant.
There was envy there, for Farlest did not wish to emulate his father in any way, shape, or form, and yet there was that striking resemblance between the two, tying Far to him inextricably.

The brunette stopped in his massaging, looking down a bit. "Was...Yes, he was. It's only a shame that we weren't blood related." He shook his head out of it, he did not want to reveal his emotions to another. Especially when he had just spoken to him before. Grey eyes looked to the other, spying the other's emotion. Hate? He -somewhat, but still not quite- understood the other's feelings. He didn't think of his paternal father too much but he, at times, was angry at him.

(RP continued in AIM) Farlest "Ah, I see..." Though he really didn't, he only got the gist of it and realized that prying might not be the wisest tactic. Farlest liked to talk, true, but he also usually knew when he should shut up, as it were. With a quiet sigh, he settled further into his chair. "I almost wish I could say that mine wasn't related to me..." A half-hearted grumble, though that was the truth of the matter. At least...at least Farlest was happy here...happier than he could remember being. The other turned back to his work, there was an awkward tension and Wei could tell that, though civilized enough, the two really didn't mesh well together. Far was far more likely to get along with Rui then himself. But he did attempt, Ry would be proud in knowing that he didn't quite exactly just brush off the other half-blood. He turned to the works, a wave of relief washing over him as he saw he was near a good stopping point. He glanced over to the other. "So...how far are you?"

Farlest "Ah, almost about to put this away." He turned to Wei with a smile. In truth, Far knew that he and Wei didn't exactly click, but that didn't at all mean that Far was going to give up. Not remotely. The other might make a good friend...eventually... "You?" Wiggling a bit in his seat, he moved to face the other once more. Farlest didn't like to sit still for very long...
With a click Wei ended his little session. As useful as learning Latin was, it was feeling far too restless to continue. This tension honestly bothered him. "I'm done now. I don't think I could handle much more Latin." The male got up up, neatly putting his things away whilst pondering what exactly he was going to do now. He felt like he brain would fizz if he attempted more schoolwork and not doing anything just wasn't Weiyuan. "What now?"

Farlest Farlest laughed softly, a quiet amusement flitting through green eyes. "Latin is all right for a time, but it quickly gets tedious doesn't it?" Sliding to his feet, Farlest stretched his arms out in front of him, extending fingertips. "I think that something of a snack should be in order...what's your quick fix of choice?" Perhaps they could share, get to know one another a mite more. Farlest was persistent, yes he was. The brunette glanced between his seat and the other boy. He supposed he could...'chill'. Better than nothing he supposed. He shrugged his shoulders at the first point, tedious but somewhat necessary. He turned to the other, forcing himself to relax just a bit more. "Anything spicy." ---end
