The Quest

Wow, this week has been....terribly, terribly eventful. We've only been home from the party a couple of days, and already something has happened. I can't decide if it was good or bad. I mean, the cause was bad, but the trip itself was exciting. 'Course, my shoulder still hurts, but it was worth it... Oh, sorry, I should probably explain.

Yesterday I found a note from Nayati on the door; he'd delivered it earlier that morning. I don't remember the exact wording, but basically he needed our help as soon as possible. I knew Acia would give me no peace until we went, plus I was curious to see what had him so worried, so we immediately left for the Toychest.

Upon arrival, we met up with D and Sidney. Apparently they had received the same note as us, and had arrived a few minutes earlier. They hadn't found Nayati yet, though. We were about to go looking for him when he found us and explained what was wrong. Iris was sick, and the cure could only be found within his door, but he couldn't go get it because he wouldn't be able to get back out. He wanted us to go and get it while he held the door so we could get out afterwards. We all agreed. How could we not? We had to help Iris.

Nayati led us to the door and unlocked it, then gave us a few final instructions before we left. He said the path we would take was something of a maze, and we would find the herbs for Iris at the end of said maze. The sooner we started the better, so he opened the door, and me and Acia and D and Sidney all stepped into the first room.

It was dark and cool, I remember, and looked more like an old, dusty tomb than anything. The only light came from forty-odd candles, twenty or so on either side of the path that led through the room. At the end of the path was a door, which was, not surprisingly, locked. There was no keyhole, nor was there anything else of any importance whatsoever in the room. Despite this, we weren't in there long.

D tried blowing out a candle, but it only relit after a few seconds. So, I had the brilliant idea that there was a clue as to how to get through somewhere in the room, but it could only be seen in the dark. The problem was, how were we going to get all of the candles out is they just relit? …Doi. Acia obliged us with a gust, and within seconds all of the candles were out. It turns out there was no clue, but with all of the candles out the door opened, so it worked out better for us. We moved on.

The next room was COLD. It was, like, solid ice! Except for the door at the end, which was also locked, but this time there was a keyhole. The key was easy enough to find; it was encased in a huge block of ice in the middle of the room. I admit, I had no idea how we were supposed to get it out. But, thankfully, D did. Apparently Sid has some kind of temperature control ability. In any case, she set him on the ice, and he melted the key free. The door unlocked easily, and we continued on.

The third room was made almost completely of marble. The only part that wasn’t was the door, which was another kind of stone—limestone or sandstone, I think. There was a long crack running down the center of the stone, but otherwise it was a solid slab. It didn’t even resemble a door. We spent a while trying to figure out how to get through, and finally decided to just ram it. It was only a thin sheet, and a soft stone, so…it was worth a try, right? ‘Course it was, because it worked. We broke a big hole out of the center and climbed through.

The fourth room resembled swiss cheese. The walls were dotter with holes of different sizes, everywhere save for the door…which was locked. The key was no where to be seen, so we assumed it was in one of the holes. We actually got very lucky… Sid found the key after only a few minutes of searching. It could have taken hours… So many holes… We unlocked the door, and stepped into the next room.

The final room was a dead end, as far as we could tell. There was no door, and when we looked back, the door we had come through had vanished. The walls were bright white, and the room had no ceiling; a clear blue sky was seen where it should have been. In the middle of the room grew a patch of herbs; the herbs we needed for Iris. Once I’d picked a few, we settled down to figuring out how we would leave.

The only way out was the ceiling, but none of us could fly…except Acia. We gave her the two keys we had, she summoned a gust, and within a few minutes she had vanished into the ‘ceiling’. And we waited. After a short while the door reappeared and opened, Acia clinging onto the doorknob for dear life. She held on until we’d all stepped through, and then jumped to my shoulder. I’m not sure how she made it through the other rooms… I have a few theories, but I haven’t managed to get her to explain just yet. She was far too excited at the time, and...I never really thought about it afterwards. I’ll ask her later.

We got out easily enough and gave the herbs to Nayati, who gave them to Iris. Almost immediately she started feeling better. I wonder what she had… Poor thing, she looked terrible. I’m no doctor, but…eck… Eee, I hope no one else catches it. Of course, now that we know how to get the herbs, it’d be a lot quicker… But maybe the maze changes every time? Well, we’ll wait to find out. More as it develops. Until then, toodle pip.

She GREW! She just grew! Right out of the blue, no warning whatsoever! Why did she grow!?!? We didn't do a quest!...or...did we? I've heard rumors that Sidhas grown...but I assumed he'd just received a quest of his own. But maybe... Maybe we did? When we got the herbs for Iris... a delayed reaction? It wasn't Acia's door, so that would make sense. Curious...but.... GREAT! She grew!!!

It happened this morning during breakfast. We actually had some guests over; one of Isto's friends and his owner, they'd stayed over the night before and were hanging out for breakfast. Anywho, Isto and Slush had left the room for some reason... Meh, I can't remember. It's not important. Acia, X, who is Slush's owner, and I were in the kitchen eating muffins. Acia's muffins, might I add. Her own recipe. (Normally Acia despises cooking, but she came up with the recipe a while back... It's been such a huge success that she makes them as often as possible.)

So, the three of us were sitting around the kitchen table, eating, when Acia suddenly started talking. A stared at her, I fell out of my chair, and she squeaked and fell silent. None of us had noticed that she had grown, not even Acia herself, I think. She took a moment to regain her thoughts, then hopped onto the table to show off her 'new form', already asking a dozen questions about how and why she had grown. She calmed down after a few minutes. She doesn't talk nearly as much as I'd thought she would, thankfully, but otherwise she hasn't changed except for appearance.

She's spent most of the day in the lab. True, the vials and flasks and whatnot still give her a bit of trouble, but, as she put it, 'It's a lot easier with hands!' I'm thinking about setting up a lab for her. There's an empty room adjoining my lab, so it wouldn't be much trouble. Find her some tools and containers her own size...scales and whatnot. It shouldn't be too hard to do. Actually, I'll try to find a mini-toolset while I'm at it. See if I can angle her back towards mechanics. I really don't know much about chemistry, and I'm nervous about her advancing futher than me. Of course, she'll need more math skills... Well, maybe not. It's all formulas... Eck, we'll see. More later, mayhaps. Acia's calling from the lab... Toodle pip.

A bomb. She wants to build a FREAKING bomb. What does Acia need a bomb for!? According to her, nothing. She just wants to see if she can make one... The sad thing is, I believe her. Maybe one day in the future Acia will fit the mad scientist role, but for now she's just curious. Even if she had someone to use the bomb on, I doubt she would... Sadly, that hasn't stopped her from making it. Or, attempting to make it.

It's a simple concept, really. Completely original, not at all a typical bomb...Not that I've made a bomb before. Anywho... this bomb is mroe her style. You see, Acia's chemistry revolves strictly around the different elements. Almost everything she does involves finding the result of different combinations. She got the idea from a recent experiment involving some of the alkali metals and water. Lithium, sodium, and potassium to be exact. (My lab is well stocked when it comes to elements.)

So, the experiment. Basically, she just dropped little pieces of each element into the water, one at a time, of course. She moved down the ground, so, understandably, lithium was first. It bubbled a bit...darted around the container. I'd seen it before, so I wasn't extremely impressed, but Acia was ecstatic. In a separate container, she dropped sodium. The reaction was much the same, though more energetic, and the metal actually burst into flame. She tried potassium...it exploded. Burst of flame, puff of smoke, the whole deal. So, correctly, Acia theorized that the next two elements in that group would have even more violent reactions. And she thinks we could set a timer to those reactions, and thus have a bomb. So there ya go.

I wish she wasn't so smart. She seems so innocent at times...

Yes, well, she wanted to use francium, but I refused. It's radioactive. I will NOT allow ANY of my family near radioactive substances... Maybe when she's older. So the next best thing was cesium. I'm still trying to think up a substitute for it...to prevent the reaction, you know? Right now Acia's taking apart an alarm clock. Trying to build some kind of time release container, I think. That should take at least a few days... She doesn't have the knowledge or equipment for that just yet.

Hmm...what else... Nothing's really happened otherwise. Acia is still obsessing over chemistry, as you can see, but she's mixing her mechanic skills with it. That's about the only thing I like about thise bomb project. She has to build the time-release thingummy itself before she can add in the 'explosives'.

Eh, yay for long technical rambles. I'ma go find a substitute for cesium now. Toodle pip!

Double click. The light flickers, then stays on, but no voice is heard. Only some slight static, faint echoes of tools on metal in the background. A hesitant shuffling of feet, and a voice speaks.

"...Is it on? Oh, yah, the little light's on. Umm... Hi, logthing! This is Acia talking. I'm really supposed to be typing, but I don't like to type. It's tiring, 'cause I have to jump from key to key. But I wanted to do another entry, and I an talk now, so I got Isto to set this recorder thing up for me. He's taking apart an air conditioned over there. Say hi, Isto!"

No response.

"Pleeeeeeease?!"

A sigh. "Hi."

"Isn't he nice? Isto's helping me build my bomb, 'cause Moo won't help anymore. She doesn't want us to get arr..." A pause.

"Arrested."

"Yeah, that! Arrested for blowing up anything. I don't think we'll get arrested, though. I don't even want to blow anything up, really. I just want to see what happens when you drop a big piece of cesium into a bunch of water without getting killed. If I get my bomb right, I can set it out in the clearing where it won't hurt anything, then have time to get away before the timer goes off.

"It makes sense, right? Isto says I'm crazy." (At this point, Ist can be heard chuckling in the background. However, this is shortly replaced by muffled curses as he drops a hammer on his foot.) "I don't think I'm crazy. I think Erae might, though... But Ana doesn't, at least! I got to see them yesterday, but only for a little while.

"Erae gave me a funny look when I told him about my bomb. Ana was real excited, though! She says she wants a bomb, but she would use it to blow things up and KILL people! Why would she want to do that? I would never kill anyone with my bomb... Maybe Erae thinks I would? Is that why he looked at me funny? Oh, I hope not... I wonder if Sid would think I'm crazy...? I haven't seen him in a while, 'cause the one time he came to the shop, we left before we could talk. I hope I can see him again soon. Maybe he'll be at the Toychest this weekend.

"There are a lot of Velvets I still haven't met. Moo's mentioned some of them, but that's not how I know. There's a big stack of notebooks at the Toychest, behind the counter, and every time we go, Moo takes one and puts a piece of paper in it. She says it's a copy of her latest log entry. So if one of the notebooks is mine, the others must be for other Velvets! I'll have to meet them! ...Once I finish my bomb.

"Actually, I think I'll go work on that now. Good bye, logthing!....Err... How do you turn it off? ...Isto!?"
Footsteps, a click, the recording ends.

Well, Acia's finally given up the whole bomb thing. About time, too. I was starting to think she'd never drop it. Of course, she could pick it up again any day now, knowing Acia. She never just drops something that easily.

Technically, she did complete her bomb. Or, Isto completed her bomb. He rigged up a little machine with a remote to control the reaction, and let Acia take it from there. It was simple enough; two compartments seperated by a thin sheet of metal, which would pull away at the press of a button. Water in one compartment, 'cesium' in the other. Or, she thought it was cesium. Really it was just some lithium and sodium mixed together to give it a different look.

So when the bomb 'exploded', there was hardly any reaction. Nothing nearly as spectacular as Acia had hoped, anyway. So she gave up... It was kinda sad, really. She seemed more confused than upset. The entire day following was spent rerunning the experiments that led to this bomb, trying to figure out why the 'cesium' hadn't reacted as it, according to its place on the chart, should have.

But, she got over it quickly. Acia has a tendancy to do that. Now that she has more free time, I've been trying to get her to read again. I know she can, but she doesn't seem to like it much. It bores her, I think. But it's hard to find a book for Acia. She's all 'make the world perfect for everyone', 'make people happy!', but at the same time she's extremely curious and adventurous, and enjoys things with some risk involved.

Soo....where can I find a book like that that won't be so dark as to depress her? I went and dug through my book shelf and found a possibility... The Long Patrol, by Brian Jacques. A novel of the Redwall series, I doubt many have heard of it. Though, Jacques books are extremely popular, but they're more youth/young adult books. I began reading them quite some time ago, and I still love them. Guess they grow on you.

Anywho, out of the entire series, The Long Patrol was my particular favorite, so why shouldn't Acia like it? She's just a highly exagerated me, kinda. I gave her the book this morning. She didn't seem at all interested at first, but then she realized that all of the characters are animals...and that got her curious. Last I saw her, she was half way through the third chapter. Success! Or so I hope. We'll haveta see.... More as it happens, toodles.

It's safe to say that Acia loves Redwall. She finished The Long Patrol this morning, an impressive feat considering it's around 400 pages long and she's only a few months old. She didn't read nonstop, Acia's far to hyper for that, but she did read for hours each day. I'm so proud n_n I didn't know she could sit still that long.

There's good news and bad news on this subject. The good news is, Acia absolutely adores the book, and wants to read the rest of the series. The bad news is, she's decided our house needs it's own Long Patrol. She now constantly carries around a toothpick 'pace stick', and can often be heard trying to turn the other tiny members of the household into a private army. A defensive army, of course. But all the same!

....First bombs, now armies. This kid is starting to scare me. She does it all in good heart, though, which is the one thing reassuring me. Acia built a bomb to learn more about the elements; she's building an army to defend our house. Against what? Gnomes, probably. Long story.

In an effort to get her mind off the Long Patrol, I've given her another of the Redwall books; Mossflower. 'Course, it still has wars and battles and whatnot, but all of the Redwall books do. And this one doesn't have the big military Patrol that Acia's been mimicing. Acia's not much of a fighter. I doubt she would ever attack anything. Maybe fight in defense, but I'm not sure even that.

Aside from Acia's reading, not much has happened. Yup, life's been pretty dull.... We haven't been to the shop in a while, I'm sorry to say. We'll have to go again soon... Especially now that I don't have to worry about Acia blabbing about bombs. Everyone's used to Ana, so I doubt Acia ranting about armies'll bug 'em much...aye? Hopefully? Gaaah, that glider's nuts. Over and out.

Mole day, mole day! Well, actually, that was yesterday. And what a day it was! I had never heard of Mole Day. Who would make a holiday out of a chemistry term? ...Acia, for one. Apparently she found mention of Avagadro's number in some book or other, and decided it would be perfect for a holiday... My glider is a nerd.

But, she is not the only nerd on Gaia! In our search for Mole Day supplies, we discovered that the Mendel Labs were actually having a celebration. (Menels crack me up. They try to act all scientific and inconspicuous, while almost everyone I know has at least heard of them. I've been trying to convince Puchiko to let me raise one for ages. Sadly, no go.) We were promptly invited, and gladly accepted, then immediately rushed home to make treats.

I have come to the conclusion that muffins are the absolute only thing Acia can cook. Not that I can complain, I'm not much better. But between us, we could cook absolutely nothing edible for the celebration. So we gave up cooking, and simply created. Gumdrop moles! I have to say, we did a good job. We made a bunch just for snackes, and the Acia got creative and made personalized ones for individual Mendels. (We found some pictures in the labs and 'borrowed' copies >.>)

So, the party was great. Acia got a few odd looks, but no one commented. THese were Mendel people, remember. Some time during the day there was a raffle. I lost v.v I'm not too upset. I always lose raffles, dontcha know. Acia has decided we have to keep watching the Mendels for Cesium so she can ask it why her bomb didn't work. Poor kid.

On the bright side, all this science stuff has gotten her mind off her books. Oh, she still reads. I think she's finishing Salamandastron now. But she's not trying to turn the household into an army anymore. Fiction is fiction, and Acia thinks of it as such once more.

Ummm, hmmm.... Not much else to say. More as it happens. Toodles!

-----or maybe the 2nd.

I really shouldn't be up...as the nurses have been telling me all day. But I wanted to write while it was still fresh in my mind. I've been trying to all day, but every time I reach for pencil and paper, someone stops me. However, its late now, and they've stopped checking up on me every ten minutes, so I'm free to write.

Now, where to begin... Last night was Halloween, (unless it is in fact the morning of the 2nd, in which case Halloween was two days ago.) so I was going to take Acia trick-or-treating. Corr too, because the three of us had a joint costume.

My costume was nothing. No, I wasn't naked. I just dressed normally, sweater and blue jeans. But I was supposed to look normal. It worked with the costume. For, you see, Acia was dressed as an angel: white satin robe, wings, halo, the whole deal; and Corr was dressed as a devil: red silk pants and vest, horns, he'd even painted his tail red. Corr's a bit shorter than Acia, but that didn't matter. I had shoulder angels.

So, the costume was great. We were about to go trick-or-treating when I got a phone call from Kanth. She and Erae were going to a Halloween party, would we like to come? I said sure, she gave me the address, and we planned to meet in the front hallway. Corr decided not to go. He doesn't much like crowds, that one. But Acia was looking forward to seeing Erae again. So we left.

Gambino's! Kanth must be richer than I thought, 'cause she invited us to a party at GAMBINO'S mansion. THE Gambino! I though I'd gone to the wrong place at first, but there was Kanth when we arrived. DAAAANG, that house was HUGE! And packed! I doubt half the people there were actually invited. Now I understand why Corr doesn't like crowds.

We didn't stay in the crowd long, though. This was Gambino's house. We were going to explore! And where better to start than the attic? ...It was a big attic. Gambino had a lot of junk. If he had a garage sale, I bet he'd double his fortune. Of course, the majority was just junk. Nothing remotely interesting.

Then the night took a turn for the worst. It quickly changed to something that will likely be the plot for a bad horror movie sooner or later. We were up in the attic, exploring, when LP arrived from downstairs. (She and Kanth had met up before I arrived, and Kanth had told her where we'd likely be.) LP said that there were zombies--yes, zombies--downstairs attacking the guests. (I later discovered that this 'zombie'ness was actually some sort of mutant virus.)

Kanth and I were skeptical at first, and Acia and Erae were downright confused. But then we heard screams and crashes from below, and knew she must be telling the truth. Figures. Being the brave, idiotic souls that we are, we decided to attack them before they attacked us. Acia and Erae hid in the corner with LP's plush, Willow, under some shadow thing that Erae conjured up. LP, Kanth and I went downstairs.

And there -were- zombies! Attacking people, biting people, ripping chunks of flesh off people... it was disgusting. But we didn't have time to worry about that, because we had to help them! And we did. Very well, might I add. With the help of the healthy, we managed to drive most of the zombies down another floor, and then went down after them.

Biggest mistake ever. Almost everyone on that floor was a zombie. We fought for a bit, but they surroundned us and... I honestly can't remember anything after that. My next real memory is of someone (I didn't know the person) pinning me to the wall and forcing an antidote down my throat. Once I reassured him that I was back to normal, he gave me a shotgun and shoved me off to shoot zombies. SHOOT. But apparently the shots just stunned the zombies, and any wounds healed when the antidote was given. (I'd been shot a few times myself.)

I did shoot every once in a while, but... I don't like guns. So I didn't shoot often. Instead, I worked my way back up to the attic to check on the Velvets. Gone, all three. I didn't even have time to worry, because the bomb hit. Yes, the bomb. Gambino had his house under lockdown to keep the zombies in. He himself escaped, and a missle was sent to destroy the house and everyone in it. Everyone! When every one of the people within were either healthy or could become so with the proper effort! Bloody coward...

THhe bomb hit, the house exploded. I am SO glad I wa in the attic. Stupid, maybe but the force of the explosion actually knocked me out into the ocean, rather then destroying the house and burying me in a pile of rubble. Not much information after that. I was unconscious for the most part. I can only remember little snatches here and there.

I remember why I didn't drown. There was a lot of debris floating around, so I just grabbed onto a few boards. I remember waking up on a beach, and half walking, half crawling up to a cave, where I fell asleep. I remember Naraka and Acia waking me up, but I went back to sleep almost immediately. How they found me, I still don't know, but I'm thankful they did. It was cold.

And...that's about it. I woke up in the hospital. Acia said I was too cold, and my head wouldn't stop bleeding, so Naraka brought me here. Did I mention that? I have a big gash on my head. Hadn't noticed it. I probably got it during the actual explosion... bunch of stiches. They cut my hair without asking. But when Jack and Isto came to check on me, they promised to fix it. I'm scared.

That's about it. I'll be home in a couple of days... Acia said everyone else is fine. LP, Kanth, and Erae, I mean. Though I think she was hiding something... I don't know anything else about the explosion. Isto promised he'd find out all he could and tell me tomorrow. Tomorrow...may be today. I'm tired. Good night.

"Hallo logthing! Boy, I haven't talked to you in a while. Guess what! I figured out how to set ya so you write down everything I say, too. Then I can print it an' put it in the written log. Saves me a lot of time, I can tell ya. Now, lessee... I know I haven't talking in a while, but if I toldja everything that's happened, this'd be reeeeeeeal long. It'll prolly be long anyway. This week has been sooo exciting, log! Exciting an' scary an' dangerous an'... wow, it was great! Well, great once I knew it'd be okay. When it happened, I was scared...

"Moo's already written about the party--I saw it, but didn't read. I'muna assume she toldja how we got there, an' how she went to fight the zombies, so I'll skip to the part where she left. Me an' Erae were hidin' with LP's tiger plush, Willow, in a corner of the attic. Erae had made a little shadow dome so no one would see us. It was sooo cool, logthing! I didn't know he'd gotten so good! 'Cause last time I saw him, he hadn't been able to show me his trick. But this time he did! Very well, might I add.

"Anywho, we were hidin' and talkin'. Willow wasn't sayin' anything, but she's still a plush, so we understood. We talked for a while, an' everything was fine, but then I couldn't feel Moo anymore! It was so weird, logthing. I've always been able to feel Moo, and then she was just...gone! So, of course, I had to go find her. Erae didn't protest like I thought he would... I guess he understood, 'cause of Kanth. That's good.

"I had to glide while I was searching. It was sooo crowded, and there were zombes everywhere! I don't like zombies, but they're not really scary. Those zombies were just people who were sick, so don't think they were actually dangerous. ....Well, the were. But they couldn't reach me, at any rate, so I was fine. But the people... erg, it was gross, logthing. Everyone was bleedin', and the zombies were bitin' 'em... I didn't like that.

"Anyway, I searched an' searched an' searched, but STILL couldn't find Moo! I didn't know where to look, you know? 'Cause I couldn't feel her. So I searched EVERYWHERE! But still couldn't find her... So, I thought, maybe, that she was outside. But how could she get outside? Everything was locked over with metal!

"I decided to check anyway. The only thing not locked up was the chimney, so I flew up that. It was really dirty and smelled funny. And there was a bat near the top, but I scared it away. It was much nicer outside. True, I could still hear screams and such from the house, but they were sorta muffled, an' it was a lot less hectic sittin' on the roof.

"I didn't sit long. I glided over to the dock to search there. Nothin'. As I was turnin' back to the house, I head this high whistlin' sound, and there was this big boom and the house exploded! I fell off the dock. But it exploded! The whole house was just....just gone! An' you know why? 'Cause a bomb hit it! A BOMB! It was....was terrible! But...but that's the point of bombs, isn't it? I can't believe I wanted to make one... No more, even though I still wanna retest cesium. I coulda blown us all up..."

A long pause... and then: "But...anyway...I fell off the dock. The explosion faded, the dust settled, an' I climbed back on the shore. The house was GONE. An'... I still couldn't find Moo. But now Erae an' Kanth an' Lp an' Willow were gone too! It was....scary...

"I went back to the shop. Flew as FAST as I could. Naraka was there talkin' to LP, who was safe. So was Willow. An' Erae arrived not long after I got there. He said he could feel Kanth, but couldn't find her on his own. LP headed back to Gambino's to see what she could find ouot, an' Nar said he'd help me an' Erae find Moo an' Kanth.

"We took a but to get back to the island. It doesn't seem like it was that far away...but I guess it was. When we got to the house, we found LP, then split up again. Me an' Nar went to find Moo, Erae an' LP went to find Kanth.

"I think we got lucky findin' her. I could feel her, but I couldn't, you know? Like, I knew which direction she was in, but she wasn't awake. She was cold, I knewthat much. Before we split up, Erae pointed out an island a distance from the one we were on. It was in the right direction, so that's where Nar an' I started lookin'."

Another long pause, followed by a giggle. "I sure do talk a lot, huh log? But if I don't finish now, I never will! I have a long way to go, though... Oh well! Where was I...? Ah, yes.

"Nar borrowed a boat, an' I supplied thewind. We saild to the island... It was a creepy island. One whole side of it was cliff, so we had to sail until we found the beach. There were caves EVERYWHERE. It reminded me of the cheese room behind Nayati's door. There was one big cave on the beach, an' we could see drag marks leadin' up to it, so that's where we went.

"We found Moo there. She was curled up on the ground, asleep, an' had a big cut on her head. I went to get firewood while Nar made sure she was alright an' tried to warm her up. She was soooo cold, log! It reminded me of Isto's arm. 'Twas scary... I was scared she wouldn't warm up. Isto's arm never does...

"We didn't stay on the island long. Once Nar thought Moo was alright enough to move, we returned to the boat and went back to shore, where we asked some creepy biker guys where the hospital was. The pointed it out, and we started for it, and...I'ma pause here. I'm reeeeally hungry, logthing, an' this is long. I'll haveta do a part two or summat 'cause there's lots more to say. Back after dinner! Buh-bye!"

A soft click, and the recording ends.

"I'm back, logthing! Sorry about the wait. Dinner was reeeeeeal good. Umm...lessee....where was I? Oh, right. We'd asked for directions, and headed off to the hospital.

"An' then everythin' started goin' wrong. We were attacked by zombies, log! Me an' Nar an' Moo! They attacked Nar, an' he tripped an' dropped Moo, an' I fell off his shoulder. I was okay, 'cause the zombies were too busy fightin' Nar to notice me, but he was gettin' hurt! An' Moo was hurt! So I had to do somethin'!....

"So...I called the wind. And it came, but...there was waaay too much of it. It made this big pillar of wind an' cloud an' such--I think they're called tor-nay-does--an' I got really, really tired. But the pillw was gonna land on Nar an' the zombies, so I had to call another wind to get him away.

"Now that I think back, Naraka was pretty mad... Maybe the whole situation was just makin' him grumpy, but he kept yellin'...at me... Oh, I hope he's not still mad, log! Naraka's nice! Even though her tried to choke me when I was younger... But that was my own fault, 'cause I knocked over those boxes. Maybe he's still mad at me for that...?"
A sigh, "I hope not... I'll haveta make it up to him somehow. I wonder if he likes muffins..."

A short pause, and then, once again cheerful, "Anywho, to continue, me an' Moo flew, an' Nar ran, an' the tor-nay-doe tore t he zombies apart an' threw 'em around. I was really tired... so Nar went back to carryin' Moo, an' soon we reached the hospital. By then the tor...tornado had gone away, which was good. We reached the hospital, checked Moo is, an' went to find Kanth.

"Nar an' I split up. I searched from the sky, he from the ground. We found LP after a little while. The zombies that got thrown by the tornado wre attackin' her! I couldn't risk callin' another wind. Another tornado would be BAD! So instead I went an' got Nar, an' he came to help.

"Umm... I can't say much of the fight. I didn't do much but distract zombies. Led a few off the roof, accidently made one blow up by sendin' a wind down it's throat... That made me REAL tired. I think I fell asleep on a ceilin' fan, but I don't really remember. LP an' Nar found me, we jumped out of a window an' ran away. When we neared the house, we split up again, me an' LP headin' to the hospital, Nar leadin' the zombies to the feds. I haven't seen him since. I hope he's alright...

"Erae had found Kanth ealier an' brought her home. He left a letter with LP... So they were safe, which was good. When me an' LP got to the hospital, we found Moo's room an' I went to sleep. Don't know what happened after that, but when I woke up LP was gone, an' Moo was sleepin'. So I guess everythin' was okay."

A yawn. "Well, um...I still have a bit to talk about, but it can wait 'til tomorrow. It's a different subject, anyway. I'ma go play with Jax for now. Bye logthing!"

"Hallo logthing! It's me again. I never really finished, so I will today. Moo's too busy to write. Why? 'Cause of Isto's baby!! Well, it's really Mauli's baby...but Isto's the dad, so it's his baby too! I'm an aunt, logthing! Kinda sorta. The baby's so cute, log. Isto was so proud, an' Mauli was cryin' half the time from happiness. She just came home today, even though the baby was born a couple days ago. Mauli's named her Kailee, an' Isto likes that name, so it's fine. I like it too! Slush didn't like the baby though... I'm not sure why.

"But that's not the point of this entry! I finished my car, log, the remote control one, a few days ago. Ana helped me so it'd be finished faster, an' then we took it out for a drive. We could do that, see, 'cause we built the remote into the car.

"Once it was finished, we took it for a test drive around the shop, an' then snuck outside to drive down the sidewalk. It was fun!! The car worked really well, log. But we wanted to see how fast it could go, so....well.... we did! It was great!! We were goin' sooooo fast, log!! Dodgin' around people an' whatnot. 'Twas wonderful!

"But we both wanted to go even faster. I called a wind to push us, an' when we drove over a puddle, Ana controlled the water to stick on the wheels. Reduced friction. Those are Ana's...umm... powers, log. Water control. Anywho, by this time we were goin' really, really, really fast. It was great! But there was an alley up ahead, an' we couldn't turn, log! We wrecked into the wall... I hit my head an' blacked out.

"Ana woke me up a little later. She had to fight off an alley cat while I was un...con... unconscious? Yeah, unconscious. I'm not sure how she did it, but she did, 'cause she was alright. I had a cut on my head from the bump, but was otherwise fine. It's funny, 'cause now I match Moo.

"Anywho, the car was completely wrecked. It's sad... the car was a lot of fun. We were more worried with gettin' back to the shop right then, though. I could just call a wind an' fly back, but Ana couldn't, so I didn't. Well, not right then, anyway.

"See, eventually we decided the shop was too far to walk. So I used a piece of the car an' some yarn from a trash can to make Ana a parachute. Then when I called the wind, it picked up the parachute an' lifted her too! So then we flew back to the shop. Ana was a bit scared at first; I wasn't surprised, 'cause Moo doesn't like heights either.

"We reached the shop soon, found Moo an' Ar, an' headed home. An' now I'm grounded, log, which is why I have all this time to talk to you! Moo had a hard time groundin' me, 'cause she said pretty much everythin' I do is educational, an' she doesn't want me to stop learnin'. She finally just decided we won't go to the shop for a while. It could be worse...

"I do miss my friends, though... I haven't seen Sidney or Nayati since my quest, an' me an' Erae didn't get to play much on Halloween 'cause of the zombies. An' even Ana! I hope Ar's not too hard on her. I was my car, after all. An' there are so many Velvets who I haven't met yet, log... Well... maybe once I'm ungrounded I can invite some friends over.

"For now, I'd better go. I have a few more project ideas in mind, an' I'd like to get started on 'em. Buh-bye, log!"
