((Owle poofed again, huh? ninja ))

"I'm afraid I don't understand..." Jade murmured to Lenne, looking to her. "But your charge there certainly is clingy like a gecko is. Just watch out when she starts clinging to the ceiling." She'd made a joke in hopes of feeling better, but the idea of what would happen to her with Nikolai came to mind. Maybe the next thing he'd inhale like that would be the moon?!

((Yeah, I did. Sorry guys. sweatdrop ))

"I can take a look, but I don't know what good I'll do..." Owle was an apprentice healer, but when it came to recently fallen angels she was stumped.

Lenne's murmured words caught her ears; ever since becoming part pangolin Owle had found her already sharp hearing augmented. It didn't often come in handy, and more often got her into trouble. Like now, for instance. "Reaping? You make it sound like she's a servant of Death or something."

She tried to make the comment sound offhand, casual, like she just wanted to know, and failed. Maybe it was cause she said the name 'Death' like she was spitting it, or maybe it was the undertone of prejudice and suspicion in her voice that gave it away.

Rand knew his mom was acting weird again, and decided to ignore it. He had more important things on his mind, like Miyon.

Well, she wasn't clinging anymore, this was an improvement. But what was he going to do with her?

"Do you want me to help you back down, so you can crawl around summore? I'll come crawl around with you, it'll be fun!"

After all, crawling real fast wasn't running, and Mom may have forbidden running but she hadn't said a thing about crawling.

Jade paid little attention to what was said of reaping- after all, there were a lot of farmers around the imediate area, and she assumed it had something to do with corn, or wheat.
"I would really appreciate you having a look at him. I've beeen calling him Nikolai, but I don't quite know if it's a boy or a girl." She looked embaressed, but not enough to blush; after all, she'd found him naked, and it still didn't look like a boy.

"She is....unfortunantly." Lenne murmured quietly, looking back to Jade with a smile. "She is very clingy. I don't think she'll cling to walls though. I know she's tried. She bumped her head several times trying." She gave a small laugh, "It might be best to have 'Nikolai' looked at."

Miyon looked up at him and nodded, "Uh huh..." She liked crawling around better anyway, she wanted to crawl on everything, the couch, the tablet, the walls....Well, she couldn't crawl all over the walls, the walls weren't allowing that.

Managing a smile, Jade chuckled at the thought of Miyon hitting her head on the ceiling. "Was it wrong to have given him a name?" She asked after the laughter, and her smile faded a bit. "Surely he already had a name before...? But he's never said a word. Maybe he's mute?"

"Okay..." Gently, like he was afraid to break her, Rand lowered her back down to the floor, ending up on his knees along with her. "That better?" he asked with a grin.

"Well, Rand doesn't seem to remember anything about the time before he met me...or when he looked like Nikolai did...I remember...when I called him Rand, it seemed like that had always been his name."

Miyon nodded her head swiflty once he placed her back down. She peeked around at everything with her bright blue eyes till she noticed a particularly shiney book and bolted off for it. "Mnn!!" She squeaked once she arrived there, struggleing to rip the book from it's place on the bookshelf.

"I don't think it was wrong, giving it a name...It's better to have one, than go without one." Lenne stated. Her wings twitched underneath her cloak as she turned her head back to watch Miyon.

"Please be careful with that!" Having caught the sight of Miyon from the corner of her eye, Jade didn't wish to see one of her books to end up ruined by the over zealous youngster. Sighing softly, she turned back to Owle. "I'm glad to hear you say that... Would you still come to see him? I would feel better knowing he was healthy or not..."

"Of course," Owle nodded, her voice comforting. "I have time right now, if you'd like. Or just tell me when you want me to come find you, I don't really have set hours for work."

When your brother owned a bar and grill and let you stay and eat there for free without asking anything in return, well...work was more on a whenever you feel guilty about it basis than anything. Though she'd started enjoying her role as a bartender, she did have a tendency to run off when there weren't any customers around for a while instead of sticking to the place like she should.

Wow, she was fast, Rand thought, as he struggled to keep up with her on all fours. He wasn't used to moving like this, it was a lot easier to just run, after all. She could be faster than Loki.

When he got to her side, he reached up and helped her pull the book she was grabbing at down.

Sighing softly, Jade smiled happily at the thought that someone would be able to look into Nikolai's wellbeing. "Today's a Monday, there won't be anyone else coming in except you four I'm sure. If your friend there has what she wants to purchase I can close up shop. My house is just outside of town."

Owle nodded, then smiled as she looked back up at Jade. She turned to call to Rand.

"Rand! Come on! We're going to visit Nikolai!"

Rand, puzzled, looked up from his playing with Miyon. "Whozzat?"

"Someone who's a lot like you and Alexei," Owle answered, knowing this would spark the child's curiosity. She waited for Lenne to either buy a book for Miyon or decline to do so, then she would follow Jade back to the woman's home.

Pointing to a round window on the right hand wall of the shop, Jade smiled. "That's my house just up that hill. It's a quick drive, but at least an hour's walking." Smiling warmly, the woman leaned forwards on the counter to look at Rand. "He's absolutely adorable. What's your name little guy?" Jade asked, holding out a hand to shake Rand's.

Lenne swiftly made her way over to Miyon and Rand whilst the two adults talked further upon the one known as Nikolai. She smiled as Miyon took the book from Rand with big bright eyes at how pretty it was. "That what you want, Miyon?" She murmured quietly.

Miyon looked up at her and clutched the shiny object towards her breast. "Mnn!!" She insisted, than holding the book out to Lenne.

"Alright, alright..." She smiled, taking the book and heading up to the counter. Placing it at the register. "I hope for the best for your Nikolai. I would come look at him as well, but I have someone waiting for me at home...And I shouldn't keep him waiting." She smiled apologetically.

"I'm sorry to hear that." Jade said quietly, retracting her hand she'd offered to Rand in order to take the book and ring it up. "I wish you could come to visit, it was a pleasure meeting you." She smiled, placing the book in a paper bag and handing it back to Lenne. "Ten seventy for the book, thank you for your business. Please do come visit again." her last statement didn't seem to be from a business woman's point of view, but rather, asking the woman to visit her home as a guest rather than a client.
