Guardian Strafe

PostPosted: Wed Jun 06, 2007 5:44 pm

The shadows of the hallway followed the Hybrid, bringing a feeling of anger to the Hybrid as she walked. It was not anger at her condition as she had feared, but anger at what she had down to her master's temple. His statue and Alter had been defiled, and he was very displeased.

The Shadows would follow her until she stopped in the basin room. Then they would hold steady, alearting her of her master's anger all the more keenly.

The hybrid took to washing off the muck with a sponge. 'She' had neither the patience nor the will to draw water into the bath. Closing 'her' eyes, Branwen in unision enjoyed the hot water. Only a crash of thunder brought 'her' back to reality.

"Ugh," Wen winced as she noticed the shadows. "We'll clean it up, ok? She shook the sponge at them menacingly, tossing soapy water throught the air. "See already off to a good start!" Great, just great. Strafe would be angry with them; there was nothing the demon could do about it in the long run but apologize and hope for her master's mercy.

"Are we in trouble again?" The angel giggled; for her, any attention from Strafe was a good thing. "Eww no! Wen just volunteered to clean it up. I'll sleep instead." She chuckled as the red hand balled into a fist. Shrugging in her usual "innocent" manner, Bran continued to scrub off the mud.

The hybrid was an interesting site, half of her lip was curled into a smile while the other side was drawn into a scowl; sometimes when both were in complete opposition of mood the halfs looked even more oddly fused than usual.

"The Master wants you... Do not delay any longer..." The Shadows hissed before sliding out of the room and up the steps, heading back to their usual roosting places in the dark corners and cavernous roof.

Strafe stood by his alter now, running his hand along it, moving it above the muck were he found it, scowling. He was not happy at all, though, his mood would change when he got down to business.

Snapping his fingers, the candles set in their holders around the alter and statue flickered quickly to life, burning as he commanded them. He smiled, then and pulling out a list of things he needed done from the shadows that flickered about, he looked over the lists and things he desired Branwen to do.

His anger was quick to return however, as he waited for Branwen. "Where is she..."

"Hurry up, you ninny. Move that leg faster. We're already in trouble as it is!" Wen was not in a playing mood and ran her hand through their hair to smooth it out.

"I aaaaaaaaam," Bran responded in a most annoyingly whiny manner. She liked being the bossy one, and lagged a little in spite.

Branwen finally reached the top of the stairs and headed swiftly toward the altar. As 'she' neared the Guardian, she bowed in reverence.

"Forgive us, patient and wise master. We will clean up this mess..." the demon started before being interupted by the other half.

A loud squeal erupted from the hybrid's mouth. "HI, Luffypoo! Yeah what she said it was all icky with the rain and the mud and the KABOOOM!"

Strafe looked up, his eyes narrowed in displeasure at his servant, waving his hand to silence her, he spoke. "I have things for you to do," Very much in a mood to talk business and now deal with teh angel's side inssenant cooing.

"I want a status report on the list of Pae'il you were supposed to be keeping an eye on. Victor, Kane, Alturius, Ducilla... That list..." He eyed her sideways from where he stood. "You have been following them yes? As well as Drizelda?"

Tapping his fingers on the Alter that seperated the two of them.

Wen flipped through a notepad that she had luckily thought to take upstairs with her. "Let's see.

Kane: I witnessed him play fighting with a female. He didn't seem nearly as feral as we were informed.

Victor, Momoiro, Drucilla, Letha, and Morena: Sadly, they seem to be almost boring. We cased them for days and all we got was normal Pae life. The only thing noticeable is that they all seem to like visiting Dragnid.

Zephyros: This guy is a loner it seems. He spends a lot of time wandering through both of the forests. He was recently seen near another on the list, Alturius, though they parted ways at some point.

Calaelan, Tamrin, and Alturius were spotted recently on the beach. They seem to all have potential.

Dagen is pregnant, assumedly by Warslik. They seem like a volatile couple. They could prove useful once she is without child once again as they are both a little feral.

Adriel seems pretty normal, mainly hanging out on the beach.

Amara is bitter and shrewish, so I'm sure she'd be of use to you also, Master.

Sebastian and Starry are both raising young, though not together, I might add.

Amandil, Melanion, and Rath Tir are somewhat familial via a mutual female as far as we have gathered. We are still trying to get more information for these three.

We have unfortunately been unable to locate Bellatrix, Voldemort, Camthalion, Shayne, Fre, or Amras."

Having finally finished reading her notes, the demon took a deep breath.

"Boooooooring!" The angel yawned. "All you need to know is that no one is really up to any sort of good old fashioned evil. But ya know what? I found them...well most of them... well Wen helped." The angel giggled.

Ignoring Bran, Strafe let his fingers drum on the alter for a few more seconds while he let the information sink in. Nodding his head slowly, he smiled. "Good, good, keep an eye on them, all of then, and keep me abreast of any changes."

Pulling out one of the pages he let his eyes skim over it briefly.

"It has come to my attention, that there are five... Teens... Who have recently shown up on the isle... This is the work of my... Compatriots..." The last word dripped with a heavy distaste.

"You will be able to find out who they are, because they will claim that they were once the Spirit Protectors of Telrunya, and that the Guardians created them, gace them their bodies..." He held the paper in his hand over the nearest candle so it burned.

"I want them... Eliminated..."

"Yes master," Wen bowed her head. She was ready to go, especially since she had made Strafe mad earlier. By her reasoning the sooner she found these little punks and dispatched of them, the sooner she could redeem herself. "I'll go get my dagger."

Bran in a moment of unusual clarity looked to Strafe before Wen could move their body away. "Do you have any more information on them? Because there are a loooooooooooooooot of pae out there. It may take awhile to ask them all if they have delusion of grandeur."

Strafe looked at Bran, his eyes showing the evident displeasure at her questioning him. "I already told you how to find them, they will tell you who they are, and then you will eliminate them, it's not that difficult..."

Flipping through a few more of the papers in his hands he looked them over with little care. "Also... When you are done with my Alter and Statue, you can do the entire room as well... It seems you've gotten a bit lax in your cleaning..."

"We will when we get back!" Bran replied with the sweet smile of a girl who had no intention of touching a mop anytime soon.

With one final bow, Wen took their body to the weapons case. Taking a dagger in its sheath, she slid it onto a belt and secured it around her waste. Always good to be prepared for bloodshed.

The hybrid slowly sank into the mud as 'she' left the temple; luckily she had an umbrella this time. The rain was pouring down now and the last thing Branwen needed was a cold.

Locien, having hidden himself in a very dark corner of the temple behind a pillar, had overheard the entired converstation between the Guardian and his minion. Shuddering with fear at the realization that he Guardian wanted HIM dead, he knew he had to get out of there. So he crept along the side wall, and slowly slid out of the temple's door, trying to make it down the stairs and into the forest as quickly as possible.

He did not want to get caught!

What he did not notice, was his footsteps left in the muck.

Wen cursed loudly; she had no idea why the mission could not wait until the storm blew over. The rain was coming down in a torrent, the visability so low that when lightening streaked across the night sky, the demon could only see a curtain of rain with ambiguous shadows dancing behind. Luckily most of the animals, crazed though they had become, were taking shelter from the storm. Animals, she reflected, could be a lot smarter than pae at times.

The angel jumped in fright, much to her other half's dismay, at a particularly loud crash of thunder. "Sounds like it knocked a tree over for sure. I think I need a hat... we need a hat. It's coooooold," Bran whined, turning back toward the temple.

The hybrid paused; there was a shadow running from the temple. An intruder! Intruders must suffer for their transgressions; the temple was a holy place, not for just any pae to walk into. What would Strafe say? 'She' began to run toward the figure, or as much running as one could do through almost knee high muck. A hand when toward the dagger as the hybrid struggled; on a sunny day, flying would have been optimal. With the rain Branwen would have belly flopped into the mud.

Locien did not see the other Pae'il coming after him, and if he had, he would have quickened his pace more than he already had. He wanted to be away from this place, and badly, it gave him the chills to know there was someone out for his blood, someone that to his knowledge he'd done no harm too...

Suddenly a thought crept unbidden into his mind. But they're all out to get you remember? It caused Locien to shudder more and hug himself, the taint was strong in him... And it came as a voice, a warning voice, Trust no one,

"HEY! YOU STOP!" Bran cried out, flailing frantically. Whether she thought this would work or not was anyone's guess. The angel was flighty at best and tended to make rash decisions rarely based on logic.

Damn, the demon thought to herself in annoyance. She hoped against hope that the thunder had drowned out the sound of her other half. It was sure that later Wen would give the stupid angel a stern lecture, but for now the chase was on as the fusion continued to pursue the shadowy figure.

"STOP!"

Locien almost did, but upon hearing the shout, his paranoia kicked in full, and he started to sprint through the muck, getting his legs stuck in the mud and silt as he tried to get away from whoever had shouted.

He feared the worst... He feared the Guardian was after him to kill him... Or perhaps his Minion, he didn't know... Nor cared to find out.
