"Have you ever seen them? Have they ever actually made their presence known done anything of consequence?" Alturius was a selfimposed skeptical agnostic. "I mean seriously, they have done nothing, probably because they're either too lazy or powerless, or just a ruse by the Fae, and elaborate illusion thought up by Iris..." He made a face, he'd had a long talk with his father a few days ago, and he was beginning to have second thoughts about that Fae.
"The Fae have powers, but so do we... and I think we're stronger, and that scares them."

"If you say so," Zeph responded with a generally happy expression. It was better, in the mixed demon's opinion, to feign agreement than to argue about philosophical issues that blurred from black and white into that grey area where right and wrong were skewed.
Looking ahead the adult could see patches of light; they were approaching the end of the forest. Beyond the grass stretched up toward the next hilltop. Zephyros supposed this was better than dodging trees and watching for prickly things in the underbrush.
"You seem to be very sure of yourself."

"Confidence has many uses. The main one is letting others know that you are strong, so that they will not doubt following your leadership," Alturius chuckled. "Even if you aren't sure of something, act like you are, and people will be more inclined to believe what you say, that is where the power of kings come from."

"Day-ht....Daaaaayyyyyhhhhhtttt!" Niday called, walking into the forest. Leave it to her sister to wander off from HQ's. Smart and quick, her sister was still nothing but a child. Now an adult, but she never matured. Which ment wasn't a good idea to let her walk around the island alone. "Dayht~!" She hopped over a fallen trunk. Where was she?

The mixed demon slinked through the forest, glad to be rid of the crazed teen. All he needed was more trouble, and there was no way that kid wouldn't become trouble. Latching the claws of his wings, he created the illusion of a cape about his shoulders. The shade was a little chilly to Zephyros' shoulders.
The adult paused as the sounds of a female shouting echoed through the trees, causing the birds to rustle in the leafy canopy overhead. Wincing, he grumbled and headed in that direction. There was no way he could be bother by that shrieking nonsense all day.

The dark female was this close to just abandoning her sibling. This was rediculous! "Dayht~!" A rustling up ahead made her lightly smile. Niday shook her head ruefully. "Dayht, Tara is going to hurt you-oh." She cut off, watching the male emerge. Well. He certainly was no dayht. In an instant her smile was gone, golden eyes becoming cold once more. "I do not suppose you have seen a bouncy teen...or adult...around here have you? Female...blue feet, yellow splotch in the center of her chest."

"No," the male responded in a lilting but equally cold tone. "I have only seen you, or moreso heard you." Leaning up against a tree, the mixed demon, who indeed looked like an actual demon save the ring of light that followed him around, crossed his arms over his chest and tilted his head so that his hair fell just to the side of his normally covered eye, allowing him to eye the faery in curiosity. He didn't say any more; frankly, he didn't really care that she was looking for someone. Parties weren't his thing.

"Thought as much." She spoke flatly, scooting her hand a little bit farther up her new brown staff. Interesting...She had heard about mixes besides nymphs and the like, where pae showed the traits of both demon and angel. Never thought she'd see one though. Ah well, back to her search. The male probably didn't want to talk to her as much as she didn't care. Niday started to walk again, silver armgaurds glinting dully in the faint light the forest allowed in.

"Hmph," the mixed demon watched in disdain with a soft frown. "Have fun getting lost."
Though Loki Nei was the calmer of the two forests, it was still a maze of trees that took time and experience to learn. He had never seen her before and was sure then that she hadn't grown up playing in them as he had.
Oh well, he thought to himself, at least she stopped that repulsive screeching.

She stopped, tasting the acrid taste of bile rise in the back of her throat. Come to think of it...she pretty much so was already lost. She'd have to...ask for help. Niday softly sighed and turned around, looking a touch skeptically at him. "And you know your way around?"

"Maybe," Zephyros responded rather singsongy, his frown having turned up into a devious halfsmile. The mixed demon began to inspect his cuticles, breathing once on his nails before buffing them against a wing. He could tell she was lost and was considering his help, but he was going to make her grovel.

"you do or you don't." Oy...he probably was expecting her to beg for this now because of her earlier cold attitude. Or possibly just because he got his jollies up degrading other pae'il. "There is no inbetween." and he wasn't going to make it easy.

The mixed demon tossed his hair back, looking rather like a shampoo commercial. "These woods are my playground, missy." Zephyros still remained where he was, moving only to inspect the nails of his other hand. His red eyes cut toward the faery curiously, and he wondered who would be the first to give. Well technically she had not as of yet asked for help so it still wasn't his problem. The adult's tail twitched rather like a cats, not really in agitation but just because it felt like it.

A slender eyebrow rose. "Playground? Well, that explains the childish behavior." Instantly she wished those words back. It wasn't often that she did, but it wasn't wise to insult your potencial help. No matter how much she wanted to. Her brother raken would be so dissapointed in her. "But I could use a companion" no she couldn't, she generally hated company "care to come with?"

"Hmph, rather a cheeky tart, aren't we?" The adult frowned. "You decide to use me, then insult me, then try to flatter me to make it all better."
The mixed demon paused a moment, a stern look in his brow. "HAHAHA! You're pretty funny, you know? My name, insolent dame, is Zephyros. And you are?" With that introdution, he ran a hand through his hair and stood up straight.
He would follow this chick, if only to be amused anymore. Finally someone had a backbone.
