A frog croaked from the counter, and a face popped up, the tiniest bit. "Hello!" Rayel said joyously, standing up entirely and, placing his hands on the counter. "I'm Rayel, the owner here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, okay?" Rayel flashed a smile, reaching over with one hand to the computer and changing the song playing in the background, before petting the frog. "Guard frog. Always telling me when someone comes in..."

Marchello jumped a bit, and turned to look at him. "Oh, ah... Hi..! I'm Marchello. I'm not at all entirely familiar with, er, technology. Thats generally my sisters area of expertise... Heh." He rubbed the back of his head, slightly embarrassed. "But I was thinking of getting a portable music player of some sort, I think... So... I don't even know where to begin looking."

"No time like the present!" Rayel grinned, then hopped over the counter. "You watch the counter," he said to the frog, who just ribbeted in reply. "So, portable, eh? As in a tiny MP3 player, or a CD player? Or some sort of portable radio, perhaps? I think anything like that would be with the larger electronics by the games." He waved a hand towards them, then bowed. "I am here to serve and answer any questions that I can!" He said dramatically.

"Ah... I have a ton of CD's that I technically inherited. But nothing to play them on." He replied. "So, a small CD player of some sort, I think." He was very embarrassed. Lionel had left him an entire archive of music all in compact disk format, but because he was always on the water, he'd never had anything to play it all on. Silphy generally kept her electronics away from him, because the last time he'd tried to use her computer, he'd caused the 'blue screen of death.' Whatever that way. "I'm not so good with electronics, to tell the truth."

"Ah, it comes with time." Rayel grinned, and motioned towards the section where the CD players would be found. "Most of them are over here. Along with headphones, and batteries and the like...There are a few different kinds." He grinned again, before walked towards it, and running his finger over the edge of one of them. "They're all basicly the same. Just variations in size, somewhat, color, style, volume...ect ect."

"Ooh." Marchello followed him over, and looked at the different models. "I see. Well, I, er, work on a ship, so I'm not sure what I would do for batteries most of the time..." He thought about it for a moment. "Come to think of it, I don't know how my sister keeps her laptop alive most of the time, either."

"Depends on the ship, I suppose...either many many batteries, or if you have electricty, rechargables, I think." Rayel nodded, smiling. "This bramd lives a fairly long time." He said, reaching over and pulled out a small pack.

"We have electricity." He replied. "Its modeled after a Mediterranean Caraque ship from about the fifteenth century, but its been modernized. I know we have electricity, because of Silphy working on the generator all the time, and the lights, and our kitchen..." He paused a moment. "Rechargables?" He asked, and then looked at the batteries Rayel had pulled out. "Ahh... Hmm. Thats neat."

Rayel grinned, then pulled out a different one, of the same brand. "Recharagables. Very handy. When they die, you just plug them in. Works well if you do it before you sleep. Then you wake up and they're fine." He nodded and looked around, then spotted a charger. "And this is the charger!"

Marchello looked at the little batteries, and then the charger. "Before I sleep? But only if they die, right?" He blinked, and smiled. "That solves the power problem. Now, what to play the CD's in?"
(( I'm going to sleep now... I'll reply in the morning, alright? ))

Rayel nodded, then took a step back, holding his hands out at all the CD players in their cases. "They're a bit...unorganized. My apologies." He grinned. "I'm pretty sure most are the same, just different shapes and colors, like I said before." He nodded.

Marchello nodded, and looked them over. There were terms and symbols on them that he wasn't quite sure he understood at all. He recognized the stop, play, and pause symbols. But anything after that he wasn't sure. "Eh..." He thought for a moment. "What kind do you think would be good for working out with?" He asked, after some consideration. That would, after all, be when he'd be using it the most. Power-walks, weight-lifting, riding the stationary bike, doing push- and pull-ups...

"For working out? Probably something that won't skip easily. Let's see....Something like this one." Rayel said, looking aroud, before picking one up. "Some skip more than others. Depending on how you're working and all." He nodded./color]

"I do a lot of sit-ups, push-ups, chin-ups..." He thought for a second. "I do stationary biking, and power-walking. Weightlifting, and kick-boxing, though I'd probably only wear the music when I was practicing on the punching bags, because I wouldn't want to damage it."

"So maybe something lightweight?" Rayel pondered, tapping his chin.
(I apologize for the short post. X3)
