Baolin chuckled and proceeded to describe Amayen in full biased detail as he led her through the blooming gardens, hardly paying attention to where they were going.
"And sometimes the trees grow so fast that overnight I'll have something up to my window I can climb out on..."
He described their food, which was far more flavorful and diverse than theirs, thanks to the trpocial soil, and of the seasons, the people he lived with, the plants and wildlife, and their culture.
"I suppose it can only be described as more formal than here. Sort of like the fire nation court, so I'm told, but everywhere. It's said that, in Amayen, we have polite, more polite, and superbly polite. I used to be terrible about it before I took to traveling for a time. I met the most peculiar girl with no shame at all. After that, I sort of relaxed and treated everyone as was typically normal for a close friend. Many of the people have become uncomfortable by it."
He grinned down at her.
"But tell me, now. What's your home like? And what of your own journeys?"

Mako slowed down and ducked into an alleyway, pressing himself against the wall and exhaling. He wiped his forehead and grinned to himself, having finaly lost the raging beard guy.
"Aahhh....now I'm hungry. No money means one thing though....and I have no idea what that is."
Mako fell flat on his face, his stomach rumbling as he turned his head to pull it from the dirt road.

"So this is Ba Sing Se?" Xaio thought to him self as he walked through the lower circle of the largest earth city. But why everyone was kept in diffrent sections was beyond him. His father had once told him how things worked in the city, but Xaio had never believed him. Now he was begining to wish he had listened. Either way Xaio was stuck in the shady part of the lower ring, crooked deals were being delt as Xaio made his way to the middle section, where he could atleast find some decent food.
What possessed Xaio to come to this city was starting to look like a futile effort. He couldn't find a dojo anywheres. He was seriously starting to think about going to the North Pole in pursuit of Jonah. At least he stood a chance of convincing him to keep his end of the deal and teach him for awhile.

Tsuzuki smiled as she commented, "It sounds lovely there. Not so much the formality but the foliage. I'd prob'ly be just as bad as you in their eyes."
She followed him blindly because she felt that there was something about him she could trust. She then began to tell him of her home, "My home's a small port town. But it's the center of the Fire Nation's fish supply. Of coarse, most all of the fish don't come from there but we ship it to the Fire Nation capital along with certain. . . other items."
"Anywho, my dad's the lord of a large portion of land and sea around there so, along with the exporting position, my family's very well liked by the Fire Lord. It's nice except I couldn't have very many friends because of my 'high position'."
"The land's beautiful but not as furtile as yours. It's also somewhat mountainous. In the summer, early fall, and late spring, it's beautiful with palm trees and tropical flowers. The dolphin-seals and whale-turtles come and play with the kids. In the winter, late fall, and early spring, it snows a lot. So, I guess I had the best of both worlds there."
"But, after an incident that I'd prefer not to talk about, I ended up leaving with a small pouch of money and traveling to a famous port to try to master fire bending. That's where I met Kazuki. And the rest, you basically know."
She smiled happily as if she were content with what she had just said while her eyes shown with a distinct sadness of memory. Tsuzuki casually glanced over at a house and blinked hard to get the expression out before turning back and asking Baolin, "So, where's this house of yours?"

Lee had just left his apartment and was on his way to work, The Jasmine Dragon. Lee worked at a local tea shop in the poor district of Ba Sing Se. He makes very little money since all he does is wash tables. So he is some what worried about how he is going to pay his rent.

"Just this way," Baolin replied, leading her off the bridge and pointing to a large, if simple one-story house. A thin path of stones wound down from the porch, framed by blooming foliage of all colors.
"Sorry if I wandered around a bit," he confessed. "I have a tendency to do that if I'm not entirely focused."

Tsuzuki shrugged, completely uncaring of the wandering, "Don't worry about it. I probably would've done the same thing. Gotta figure out your guests before you let them stay in your home. It'd be safer for you that way seeing as you'd be somewhat uneasy around me."
The stones felt great on her feet, pressing softly into the parts of her feet that the flat ground didn't normally touch. She could feel them through her boots and liked it. When she came to the door she turned to Baolin and asked, "Should I knock or should I just go inside?"

"Just follow me in," Baolin replied with a shrug. "The only other people here are a few guards. They hate it when I barge in without warning, but they've gotten used to it."
He slid open the paper door, kicking off his shoes as he wandered inside.
"Oh," he called back to her. "And watch out for Shuro, my messenger."

Tsuzuki did as he said and, as soon as she got inside, she pulled off her boots. The house was very nice. At least, it was nicer than the lower ward shops which could serve for a competent home. As she got up off of the floor, she commented, "This is a really nice place. Nice and quiet for at least a moment."

"For the moment," Baolin agreed. THe words had hardly left his lips when a loud voice tore suddenly through the air.
A rather dusty, rugged blond man ambled through the halls, grinning ear to ear. Everything about his demeanor announced he was not from Amayen, though he traveled with them. Baolin grinned back at his friend, Shuro.
"Yer folks sent a letter today, Lin," he barked. "Little watercress got back from the south pole. They say hurry up and get home before she practices herself to death. Bored as nothing else without you, you know."
Shuro paused, seeing the young lady with him. Baolin smirked.
"Shuro, this is Tsuzuki, a firebender I met down in the lower level. She'll be with us for a while."
"Well well," Shuro chirped, leaning in and reaching out for a strand of her hair. "Little lady's rather pretty, isn't she?"

He makes very little money since all he does is wash tables. So he is some what worried about how he is going to pay his rent. Lee stopped for a brief moment and gave some thought about not going to work. "screw work", he said to himself and then turned around and walked in the direction of the Uyz river. He decided that improving his earth bending skills were more important.

Tsuzuki grinned and blushed as she told him, "Take a bath and then we'll talk. Although, I don't think that you can stand the heat."
She then turned to Baolin and said confidently, "I think I'll like it here."

Shuro grinned and chuckled.
"Oh, you'll like it here. I like her, Baolin."
"Yeah, yeah," Baolin sighed, rolling his eyes. "Though I must agree with her. You need a bath, and since we don't have Zayiya here to force it on you, I'm going to have to use my Dukely authority."
"I think I liked it better when you had to hide behind your waterbender for your battles," he complained. "Elsewise you took to your fists." But he turned dutifully down the left hall. Baolin shook his head, still amused, and returned attention to Tsuzuki.
"Down the right hall there, you ought to find a guest bedroom to suit your needs. It's the smaller half of the house, but none of my men go there so your privacy should be in safe hands."

Tsuzuki nodded as she began to walk backwards to the room, her front still facing Baolin, "Alright, sounds good."
She then stopped in her tracks and her grin widened as she went over the conversation that he and Shuro had just had, "So, Duke, huh?"

"Um, yeah," he stumbled. "I was going to tell you eventually."
