Thelxiope couldn't help but give a humn as the other one paled and humbled when Vara commanded it so. Or so he figured, as he watched the other with his silverine gaze, which was elegant and light, unlike the scowl that was plastered on his face not-to-long ago. For Vara. he thought internally as he soothed himself down next to Vara and murred in a fake happy chord - so that she didn't think something was amiss in her man-siren friend's ways.
"That is allright, lad, I've sene the dead - but your face sure did startle me, Pascifist if you know what I mean." he sung out in a normal tone to the other as he sat protectively near his best friend - he couldn't figure out why, but he felt odd near both of them. Almost anxious about something. "The pleasure is all mine, a friend of Vara's can be a friend of mine, yes." he hummed out, as he looked down to her. He couldn't shake this odd feeling.

Vara laughed hysterically at Thelx's comment. She doubted he had meant for the 'face' comment to sound so mean, but it sure did make her laugh. She snorted out a little more laughter then looked up at Thelx, cocking her head to the side. "Hmm?" She turned to see Nanaki looking in a different direction. Obviously, this was one of those awkward moments that she heard so much about. She cleared her throat then looked from one male to the other.
Pippin had made his way to the other side of Thelx and pokd him. "Hey!" He whispered to him. "Are you sure you're not a girl? You're too pretty to be a boy."

The male mentally muttered under his breath at Thelx's comment, though he wasn't sure whether it was meant to sound so rude. Almost silently, he too started shifting towards Vara, in what was almost the same, protective manner.
Awkward was probably an understatement. Something was bothering him. Something that made him a bit nervous around Thelx, and extra catious about Vara. Coughing, he glanced around a bit absentmindedly.
Then, as Pippin approached Thelx, the male's ears pricked up, and Red XIII frowned. Though there was indeed something about the Siren Feli he felt odd of, he still prevently rudeness when he could. Padding towards the kit, he put a large paw on Pippin's head.
"Hey, that's not a nice thing to ask. If he says he's a boy, then he's a boy."

Thelx couldn't help but smile a little when he had gotten his reaction from Vara, her infectious giggle couldn't help but lighten the mood, especially when he didn't mean for the statement to come off nasty, it really was just a little joke~ he mused as he noticed the other red furred male make his way closer to his best friend, before fixtating his attention to the young lass.
But sadly that didn't last too long as his attention broke when Pippin shimmed over and poked the siren on the side, giving his own paw a shimmery purple glow for the moment. "Alas, I am male - I was the only son of four children. But I do like to make people guess" He answered, winking an eye down to Pippin. "I was just born pretty. Genetics I suppose - My mother was a singer and my father is a poltergeist, so.. Siren." He finished, as his tail flickered softly beside him.

Pippin let out a soft 'oof' as his head was smushed under Red XIII's large paw. "I thought maybe he was confused. Plus, he didn't mind!!" Pippin threw off the large paw then smiled. "Hey! He's prettier than Vara! Maybe you should date him instead, Red XIII." He giggled at his own joke.
Vara snickered at the smushy face that Pippin had. She could always count on that kit to lighten the mood a little, though he did tend to talk a lot. She swatted at Pippin, and pinned him on his side with her paw.
"Hey! He's not THAT much prettier." She paused and playfully drooped her ears. "Alright I lied. He is."

Red XIII looked at Pippin sharply at his comment, but instead of speaking, he replaced his large paw on the kit's head.
He then blinked in surprise as Pippin was pinned on his side by Vara. With a blink, he instead put his paw on her head instead, snickering a bit at her comment now. "Hhn. Everyone is beautiful in their own way..." He said, matter of factly.
Waitwait...
He just said something corny, didn't he? ...Guh.
"Except for me." He finally added after a moment, snorting. As a matter of fact, he was probably far from 'lovely', as compared to Thelx and Vara, especially with his scarred, blind eye.

Alas. There it was again - that cold feeling in the bottom of his heart, the kind that he'd get when he was the most alone - even when the spirits of the damned were even avoiding him. He had figured awhile ago that there was something odd going on in this glade - regretfully, Pippin had hit his heart with his fears, mallet, spike and all.
Attempting to keep face, he just took a deep breath and kept his eyes to the ground, admiring the grass, before the words of the one who had Vara's attention of a sorts piped up. Lifting his silverine gaze, he gave a frown and shook his head. "Everyone is beautiful in their own way - it just take someone to realize the beauty. I'm sure even you're wonderful.. I suppose." he said sternly, the song in his voice almost completely absent for the statement. Realizing this, he lowered his eyes again, and studied the grass more. "Truely it is I, who is the lack one here - only the dead care for me." he murmured more to himself, the song returning in a solumn sound.

Vara tickled Pippin's side gently, then looked up at Nakai. "Don't be silly. You're beautiful too silly." She half smiled then looked at her friend. This time, she could tell that something was wrong. "Thelx?" She playfully poked his side. "But..." She looked at him sadly. "You're my bestest friend. And I care for you. AND I'm not dead."

Seeming surprised, he turned his head abruptly as a redness was spreading across his face. "I am no beautiful..." He muttered, shifting a bit.
At Thelx's voice however, he turned to look at the siren, raising a brow at the 'I suppose'. Looking a tad annoyed, the fire tipped tail Feli opened his maw to reply. At his next sentence, however, the half-blind Feli could feel himself close his mouth, and instead, a frown spread across it.
"You have friends and family who care for you." He muttered, after Vara spoke. "They are all alive, breathing, warm, and real. With others like this by your side, what makes you say such things?" He blinked his eyes, his golden eye focusing on the Feli before him. Even the pale, white eye seemed to be looking at him, though they all knew that it was impossible for him to see through it.

Frowning softly, Thelx shook his head at the firepelted one and his best friend, his mood not changing ever the slightly at their words of encouragement as his posture dropped somewhat more, the grass was definitally much more interesting than anything at this time. "That... that is not what I meant, it's more complicated that that." he hymned unhappily as the cogs in his head moved more - almost agreeing with his songs that he should have just kept pretending he didn't feel. Would have made life easier.
Throwing his gaze away from both of them, he took their words and mentally beat himself with them, before answering the firepelt. "Alas, they are by my side.. I love them all for that, and .. a very small few I love more than anything for their attention.. but at the same time, they too, will find someone they cherish more, and find their routes in life. I am only bound to the dead, a fate where one only delights those who will, in the end, leave them. Sirens are always alone at the end of a story." he mused. The idea had been in his head since childhood - always the strange one, he was.

Vara stared at one male, then the other. She had never seen her friend so down before. It was a little unnerving to be honest. "Don't be so silly Thelx." She gave him a reasurring nudge with her shoulder. "I promise, I'm not going anywhere. So we can always be bestest friends." She had a feeling that she wasn't helping much, but couldn't put a paw on why. Maybe she had done something wrong? She shuffled over to Nanaki and whispered to him. "Hey. Did I make Thelxy all upset? 'Cuz I didn't mean to." Her ears drooped and flattened against her head.
Pippin stayed next to Thelx and cocked his head to the side. "Why are you only bound to the dead Mr. Thelx?" He paused and gave him a suspicious glare. "Who else would you rather be bound to? HMM?!"

Quietly, he listened to the Siren's words for a moment, and everything seemed to hit him at once. He opened his mouth to speak, and glanced towards Vara, but closed his mouth again. He didn't know.
"It's not your fault..." He murmured in response to Vara's questioning, giving her light, gentle nudge. "But perhaps...it was mine...?" Red XIII glanced back up at Thelx, his amber eye silently asking him the question.

Lifting his gaze only slightly - so that it could catch the one eyed gaze with his own, not breaking it - it was apparent that atleast the males in this storyline were on the same page.. shaking his head, he just simply answered him with a "I've never been the fastest horse in the race." with a bit of a saddened smile about the joke. It was almost like a silent conversation between two who shared the same red string of fate by accident.
When he had finally mumbled that, he couldn't help but feeling the tugging presense of the little'un, and lowered his gaze to Pippin before he gave a tight little chuckle, shaking his head to the little one. "Is it not as evident as I would suppose it had been? I believe my acquaintance has caught wind of my soul." was the only answer he could give.. a story in a question.

Vara shook her head in responce. "No. It was definately me." She looked over at Thelx, her ears perky a bit with slight determination. She wasn't going to let her best friend sit there all gloomy, while a perfectly, sun shiny day passed them by. She bounced over to Thelx and pushed his side and smiled. "Stop being so glum! It's such a nice day. We should enjoy it!" She started prodding at him playfully and tugging on his ears.
Pippin gave them a weird look. "Vara, I think you should give Thelx his soul back so he can cheer up."
Vara looked at Pippin then curiously back at Thelx. "What?" She cocked her head to the side and looked back at Nanaki, as if he would have some answers.

"I'm sorry..." He murmured as a reply to the other male. He really did care about Vara, as she was the first one to really understand, and accept him, but even so he wouldn't feel right if...well...
He didn't want to give Vara up. Perhaps he was stubborn, perhaps he was selfish, but it was hard for him to bear with the idea, but a question wandered in his mind. Would she have chosen Thelx over him, if Thelx has admitted first?
Though he really didn't want it to happen, he wouldn't feel right until Vara knew, and Thelx had a right to tell her. Quietly, ears flattening, he glanced at Vara, and murmured softly, "Perhaps Thelx has something to tell you himself?" Then, glancing up at the male, he gave a small nod.
