Depending on how serious you are about it, the programs get more advanced. I've never used anything past Photoshop 7.0, though I have Photoshop CS too. I can't use Illustrator, and I haven't used Flash in ages...

SecretAgentX You guys must have awesome computer programs... All I have is Paint, yes the good old paint... stare Yeah me too.. *sigh*

Don't underestimate MS Paint, the first image I posted was coloured in MS Paint, and the other day, I visited this website where some guy with too much time on his hands drew awsome pictures on Paint.
Many of my earlier pictures were coloured either using pencils or MS Paint because I didn't have Photoshop at the time. It took alot of patience and a good eye.
But in the end, Photoshop is just so much easier to use, so I'll proably never go back to using Paint to colour things. But the program will still have it's other uses.

After it's apparently been brought to my attention that doujinshi covers, and not fanart was posted, I've removed the images and moved them to the regular pictures section for now. As for related posts, I've removed those as well. If anyone wants to argue either way, then send me some proof (ie send me proof that it's a doujinshi cover, or that you actually did it yourself).
Remember, plagerism is bad people. xp
