Abbey caught up to the two figures, perplexed at the snippets conversation which had drifted down to her ears. She blinked owlishly, "Quest?"

She scratched her head and smiled meekly, "Well, if you're headed to the Lodge, I'll tag along."

"Another FUN FUN QUESTER!"

Jizzy jumped for joy. The more the merrier. She kept repeating the phrase 'Fun Fun Questing' in a low tone as she bounced softly in place. She seemed slightly, or extremely, hyperactive, like a 5 year old who foud the packet of sugar.

Living in a semi-inhabited village was still creepy. Wyvern came to this conclusion as she shambled from her front porch off into the direction of Chao's house. Or at least, she thought it was this way. Due to her rush to depart the island last time, she hadn't really paid attention. The quiet of the morning was getting to her.

But it was a good kinda creepy, she decided, far superior to the overpopulation of cities with the hustle and bustle causing them to burst at the seems and costing four FRIGGIN' dollars for a tiny-a** cup of coffee...

Hmm. Okay, so the quiet wasn't really that bad. Oh yeah, after her week from Hell, Ar'Idil was definately feeling more like home. With a slow smile spreading across her face, and not quite a spring in her step, the green-haired woman made her way to (what she hoped was) her neighbor's house.

With out much hesitation, she knocked on the door. This was either the right house or not, worst case it being empty. Or a shotgun wielding maniac could suddenly appear and gun her down, but Wyv figured the chances of that were slim.

Sunday morning's were always vaguely slow for the teen. Chao's mind was built for sleeping in late on these days so close to the beginning of the normal week. Alternatively there were days she instictively got up at the crack of dawn.

Today has been a crack of dawn day. Almost unnoticable a pair of pant covered legs and bare feet hung over the edge of the roof, a sleeping Sanar was in her lap, Loki was still asleep inside and her bag, holding Wyvern's jars inside was on a stable shelf in her room, safely out of reach of the sunchild.

At the knock she gently manuved Sanar out of her lap and poked her head down to see who it was.

"Ah! G'morning Wyvern," she greeted warmly, amazingly enough not waking the sleeping gryphon at her side.

"Oh, hey!" Wyv called, with a wave of the hand and tiltled her head upwards, so she wasn't talking to the door. "Didn't see ya up there." She grinned. "Well, I was gonna to start off conversation with an 'I hope I didn't wake you' but I see that's not the case."

She gave a brief, furtive glance around for a ladder or something, curious as to how her fellow resident came to be upon the roof. "Should I come up? I'm gettin' a crick in my neck," she said, placidly. "I'd like to chit-chat a bit, if y'don' mind, before relieving you of my burden."

"Yeah, been up for hours," early rising sun and all that. "The roof makes for an excellent ambush spot, but no, not a very good conversation place if the other is on the ground."

Her head suddenly dissapeared for a moment as she looked up and over her shoulder, feeling a hoof on her back, "ah, g'morning Sanar," the gryphon clicked and ruffled her feathers, still waking up, bad loudthings...

The head came back into sight. "Yes, come on up. The ladder's inside and the larger of the windows in my room is open, just climb through there. There's room enough for all of us to chat."

Us? Who was us? Wyv didn't see anybody up there, but that ment little given her low vantage point. She gave a mental shrug and decided to go along with it.

"Righto," she said, snapping of a brisk salute and heading inside. She hurried as much as her laid-back manner would allow, following Chao's directions implicitly. There was an obvious discomfort at meandering through another's home while the owner was not present. It just struck her as discerning, even though she had permission and the owner was nearby.

Stepping through the window to the rooftop, she greeted, "Hey- Oh, neat." All other thoughts drained away- Wyv had seen Sanar. Grinning fit to burst, she beamed at Chao. "Wow, congrats. I'd heard your jar had burst, but damn- this is my first sighting of an Aerandir Gryphon."

Chao had attempted to roll back into a sitting posistion when Wyv had dissapeared inside but by then Sanar was sitting on her back and didn't seem to be in any mood to move.

"Nnnn..." Chao groaned and attempted to shuffle back a bit so that at least her head would no longer be dangling off the roof.

Sanar's ears flickered as Wvy climbed up the ladded and stepped through the window. Aha, no wonder the steps were so heavy it was another big thing! A new one as well.

Quickly the gryphon abandoned her post on Chao's back she bounded off towards Wyv, stopping when she had a good view of the girl and taking in her features for later with her keen dark eyes.

Chao took the oppertunity to roll over into a better sitting posistion and grinned. "Thank you. Yes, her jar burst at the festival, which was, wow, that's where I saw my first gryphons, and a child Aerandir as well, I think. But then there she was! Jizzy and Abbey's gryphons arrived at the festival as well, I'm sure you'll run into them sometime soon. The village seems a little less dead with them here."

"That's good then. I mean, I like the quiet and all, but so many empty houses, it's like something out of a cheesy b-movie. I can almost hear the screaming violins in the background," she responded, not taking her eyes of Sanar. She was inwardly proud at being able to divide her attention between speaking and gawking.

"Hey, there," Wyv told the gryphon, voice soft and crouching so as to get a better look at the Aerandir. She extended a hand slowly, open palmed, as a sort of greeting. "Pretty little bit, aincha? You can call me Wyv, even if you can't speak yet. I hope you and my not-yet a gryphon will be friends."

Chao chuckled at the mental image that conjured, "screaming violins, hrm? Yes, that seems about right." Smiling she merely reclined, putting her weight on her hands, watching the interaction curiously.

Sanar watched keenly as the bigthing crouched down, going tense for a moment just incase it harbored any misimpressions about grabing her.

When Wyv continued to speak softly and merely extended a hand she stepped forward, poking at in with her beak before arcing her head against the palm and clicking.

Wyv gave a little chuckle at Sanar's caution. Smart little bird, that one. Not that she would've attempted to touch her if the gryphon had made her disinterest in contact clear, but still. It was something to think about for the day when her own gryphlet came into this world.

She gave a gentle caress of the head with her thumb, still enraptured in the joy of seeing an example of what she'd come to this island for. That alone made the stress of the past week melt away and she almost looked forward to finishing off the little necessities that would finally claim the house she lived in as hers.

"Heh," directing her comment at Chao, "Maybe we should see if we should organize a Horror filmfest at the lodge or something? I mean, the mood setting is perfect. Make a cook-out of it or something. Of course, with such young eyes and ears about," her gaze wandered back to the gryphon, "maybe we should stick to a PG-fest."

Reluctantly, she gave Sanar a final pat, then stood and straightened, groaning and stretching. "Ack, much to young for backpain," she observed with a grimace.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 24, 2005 9:28 am

"Mmm, horror film fest would be cool, though we'd probably have to keep the rating down, lest we tramatize easily influenced gryphon minds. Maybe couple it with a cookout and a massive water fight, zombies vs. humans?" She looked around, considering the possibilities, "or just a free for all."

Why had it stopped? Sanar had been enjoying the petting, and looking over Wyv's palm, the lines were different than those on her mother's.

With a ruffle of her feathers she quickly about faced and, before Chao could fully stand, hopped onto the teen's shoulder.

Chao stepped back, and put up a hand to steady Sanar as the gryphon adjusted to sitting on her shoulder. "Happy now San?" A click and a nuzzel was her reply, Chao merely rolled her eyes and looked back to Wyv, "backpacking is kind of evil, espically if you have 40 pounds of weight on your back and no water," oh the horror stories she'd heard at school.

"Anyway, shall we retrieve your jars then? They're just inside."

"Heh, yeah. Maybe we could bust out the big-guns late night, once the young'uns are all asleep. Have to talk to Anthony about that. Either way, the waterfight sounds like fun on a hot summer's day." She grinned wolfishly and then nodded to answer Chao's question.

"Yep, should probably grab 'em and head on home soon. I hadn't finished unpacking before I had to scurry off like that." Her face was unreadable for a moment, but the moment quickly passed. She was forcing herself not to dwell on it and ruin her encounter with Sanar. "Sorry for dumping 'em on you so abruptly and thank'ee much, so very, very much, for watching 'em." She was upset with herself, asking someone else to watch the object of her guardianship was too much like shirking her duties and it bother Wyv. Neglecting herself was one thing, but when neglect impacted someone else, well, she didn't like impinging on other's freedom like that.

"It'd be a lot of fun, not sure how'd we involve the gryphons, as they lack opposable thumbs, but I'm sure we could all think of something," her eyes scanned the village, thoughts of hiding places and ambush spots rising forward before she pushed them back.

At Wyv's thanks she merely waved a hand and headed for the window, "I think Sanar liked the company, when she was a jar and into gryphonhood. She seems rather attached to them. But really, I can symathsize and it was no bother at all. Things happen, the mainland calls, it's not like our lives there suddenly snapped short and we all killed all past relations when we came here after all."

"Yeah, but still..." Wyv shrugged, a gave a guilty little smile. "I'll probably be tripping over myself to repay you- it's just how am I. So if you ever need anything, well, within reason, just lemme know."

Following Chao and Sanar back inside, she added, "I'm glad Sanar enjoyed the company. If she ever wants to, she can come over when ever she'd like." she puncuated her statement with a fierce nod.
