Bing shrugged, "Just saying."

Well, he got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Duke was one of those kind of people that he can tolerate, if they want to act high and mighty to get something off their chest, go on right ahead. Bing has dealt with a lot of people like that, usually the boss, best thing to do was to let them talk. All you have to do is just plug them out.

He got up and looked down on Chris, still on the ground, they were going to have to drag him around judging by the size of him.

"I'd help, but I can't do it by myself, I can barely lift a piece of wood without anything breaking." And with that, he glanced at Duke.

Duke bristled at the laughter, ears laying back against his skull, a low growl emitting from his throat as he watched the wolf-man roll on the floor laughing. The urge to kick the great lump of fluff was so overwhelming, Duke had difficulty keeping his paws on the ground, though the claws extended. Folding his arms again, gazing out the window, obviously not accepting Chris's apology, though Chris should have seen enough now to know that.

"Sciocco!" Duke grumbled, silver eyes glaring at the wolf-man. "Insultate, quindi prevedete la carità?" Duke made loud 'tsk'ing noises with his tongue and moved away, opening the door, letting a blast of cold air seep into the hallway. Glaring out at the puddles and soggy ground, Duke 'tsk'ed a few more times, prodding the ground just outside with a long clawed paw, before hissing and retracting the paw close to his body, shaking it, though no water had touched him. "Pioggia sanguinante..." Duke glared over his shoulder at Chris and Bing, one ear swinging forward.

"Sono spiacente, sto fingendo non capire. Pozzo dell'oh!" Duke grinned and leant against the door, silver eyes glinting menacingly.

"Oh come on now Duke!" Christopher tried to reason. "You need to calm down a little, loosen up."

Chris attempted to stand on his feet once more and this time succeeded, but howling out in pain during the process. Once on his feet, he let out a sigh of relief knowing he had some mobility now. He turned his attention to Bing and asked, "Want to crash at my duplex a bit?"

At the moment, Christopher just wanted some company so that way he wasn't spending the rest of his day alone in his duplex with knowing to do. He tried to present a more welcome nature in his canine features in an attempt to put Bing at ease for now.

The cat person was kind of funny to watch, living, breathing... Talking proof that cats really didn't like water. He grinned a little, but kept it to himself.

"Yeah, that would work." Bing said to Chris, taking his offer, sitting down near his feet, paws, whatever...

"So how did you get on this island?" he asked, grabbing his backpack nearby and unzipping it.

"Let's see," Christopher announced as he recalled the false pretentions he was lured here under. "I'm an independent filmmaker and was touring the film festival circuit at the time. Some investor approached me and offered me a chance to shoot a documentary on wolves. He then gave me a card to set up an appointment to meet the rest of the investors who were flying me to an island resort so I could meet them and discuss the plans. That was my hook and bait."

He followed Bing to the door, his tail swishing slightly as he walked. Christopher looked to Duke and wondered if they should be leaving the taur alone or invite him along. Before they walked outside, Chris turned back to Duke and inquired, "You want to come along? My duplex isn't far from here and if you need to, you can use my shoes or something. That way your feet aren't getting all wet."

"From studying to being studied, that's irony for you." Bing said lightly and let out a big sigh. It never occured to him that people were getting tricked to get here too, till now he thought that everyone just happened to crash onto the island with a boat or something, and boom, instant guinea pig. How many people were here? Chris said something about a hundred people or so... He could be exhagerating, but still, one hundred people don't disappear quietly, he wondered how many were searching for those hundred, and wondered how would they react if they ever did find them, he was shocked at Chris, he would have had a heart attack if that sort of thing happened to a cousin, aunt or uncle of his! Bing pinched himself, dazing off again...

He got up and pressed his feet on the outside ground. The surface was mush, the water soaked soil stuck to his sandals. Now he wasn't blaming Duke as much, after listening to him talk, he probably didn't want to get his paws dirty. Not like he could understand a word he was saying half the time, but still. He looked at Duke's feet-paw-things and said simply,

"We're going to need more shoes."

Duke shrugged, a simple lift of the shoulder, before gazing out at the rain soaked ground, a shiver running down his spine at the thought of that clod mud in between his toes! Erk! Not good! Sighing, knowing it would be boring to be stuck on his own any longer then necessary, Duke looked to the other side of the open space, guessing Chris's duplex was over there somewhere. Taking a deep breath, holding it, exhaling it, Duke nodded and frowned a little.

"Ok. I'll come with you." He looked down at Chris's split and ruined shoes. "I may as well run, ragazzo. Those shoes will do little to stop water getting to my paws, and anyway, my feet are too feline to fit in those!" Rolling his eyes a little, Duke looked back out to the water and took his first tentative step down onto the gravelly mud. He screwed his face up into a grimace as his padded paws started to soak up the muddy water. Prancing out, trying not to put his feet into really wet areas, he dashed across the courtyard, taking a flying leap up onto an area of raised pavement and skidding to a hault just outside the door to the next set of duplexes.

"FRETTA! Rapidamente!!!" Duke yeowled, the words only just discernable from his feline call.

Bing was giggling madly to himself as he zipped up and picked up his pack. It's amazing what people, even when they have four legs and look more like a cat, freak out about. He started to run up and behind the cat person. The guy looked like he was going to be sick. Suddenly, his own feet slipped on the slick mud and he went flying, body and all, and he went back first, pack and all, into the brown goo.

"Ow..." He muttered as if in afterthought, the ground was soft, no harm done. Bing picked his pack and himself up and walked the rest of the way down. He went over and asked Duke, "So these quacks gave you guys a nice place to stay, huh?" He looked at the duplexes around the land, Bing figured, if you want the mice to cooperate, you give them a nice cage. Probably get food and drink too, or do they hunt? Bing shivered, he hoped he wasn't going to be some kind of rabbit or something. The thought made him feel as helpless as the prey you see in those animal documentaries. Course, he could make friends with these guys now and save the trouble of being the main dish... That'd work. Hopefully. Speaking of eating and drinking though...

"Is there any coffee?"

Christopher stuck his tongue out and wrinkled his nose in disgust when Bing asked about coffee. He replied, "Not in my duplex, you won't. I hate coffee. But I have other things to drink and eat."

He hurried along and soon reached the duplex. Opening the door, he revealed the layout of his place to his new guests. The duplex was kept clean but throughout most of it, the walls were collaged with a variety of pictures; of movie posters, random pictures representing particular areas of Chris's past, favorite bands, wolves, and some custom t-shirt designs.

They would also notice the shrine like area in the corner near his bed. There was a shelf adorned with wolf paraphernalia, DVDs of his favorite movies and shows, some of his film equipment, and a huge plain looking music box on top.

As Chris inspected Duke and Bing, he figured he should get them something to dry themselves with. He quickly entered the bathroom and grabbed many towels. He tossed both his guests a towel and said, while rubbing down his fur to absorb the water, "Go ahead and dry off. And Bing, the shower is open to you. Looks like you could use one after slipping in the mud."

"Awww...." Bing moaned. It was one thing to be stranded on an island, it was another to be stranded without coffee.... Maybe he can ask one of the doctors for a swig when they were experimenting on him. Oh, he could just imagine it now, he'd be on some sort of cold, metallic lab table and all he'd ask for is a cup of coffee after getting poked and prodded on and he'd get it. Then the doctor would ask how would he feel and put it on his clipboard for future reference.

"Nice place." As they went into the room, wiping himself with the towel he was given.

Duke squealed as Bing went flying into the mud, rearing onto his hind legs in an attempt to get away. The mud was flinged up onto his feline back and human shoulders, which made Duke squeal again. Trying to worm his way out from beneath the mud that was cold and wet in his fur, Duke squirmed and twitched, eyes glinting with purely murderous thoughts as he caught Bing in his glare. Racing after Chris, leaping through the door once it was opened, Duke shivered as he was welcomed by a warm and cosy duplex.

Accepting the towel he was given, though his nose did wrinkle at the distinctly dog smell of the place and item. Scrubbing at the mud in his shoulder fur, Duke sighed and watched the fur poof out from being wet. His human half turned almost 180 degrees as he turned to dry and clean the feline back that had mud caked onto it. He caught his own ticklish spot just below his spine on his left side and almost fell over as his hind leg kicked out and a purr erupted from his throat. Blushing beneath his fur, Duke coughed and scratched just below his ear in an embarrassed gesture.

"Heh heh... Si... Dell'oh, thank you for the towel." Passing the towel back, Duke looked around, eyes lingering for a moment on a running wolf poster. Walking over, he tapped it with a clawed finger and looked over his shoulder with a smirk. "A wolf's version of porn?" He laughed and moved on, inspecting some of the film posters.

"Well, he has more stuff then I do." Bing said, sliding his backpack with his foot, moving it next to the door.

"I'm going to take a long, hot shower...." He muttered, throwing the towel behind his back as he went into the bathroom.

The hot water ran down Bing's back as he mulled over the day. He had to admit, this was a lot better then staying around the office all day doing nothing, but there were a lot more things he would rather be doing than getting mutated into some kind of freak for a bunch of crazy doctors to study... He leaned his head against the wall of the shower. He made a note to ask Chris or Duke if there was any booze on the island. Bing was going to need it.

He breathed in a mouthful of steam, and exhaled. His friends and family still think he's in the Caribbean, and those snobby rich people would act like he didn't exist, as they always did. Even if his friends asked around, they wouldn't get any answers. Damn, winning the lottery is a mixed blessing. You're on a freaking thirty thousand dollar luxury boat the first minute and you're a test subject on a not-so civilized but not-so deserted island the next.

Wonderful... Simply ******** wonderful.

Bing let out a breath as he got out of the shower, and started to dry off. At least he didn't feel like the outcast around here... At least, not for long anyway.

He called from the bathroom, "Do ethier of you guys know if there's any beer or something around this island?"

Chuckling some at Duke's comment about wolf porn, Christopher replied back, "No, I'm actually quite hormonally balanced and taken as well. Besides, my girlfriend use to be in a modelling career so if I wanted to look at anything erotic at all I'll just look at this one."

Chris points to a pinup on the wall with Minna, still human, on it where she is draped in a cloth of blue velvet. He glances over at it whild pointing and then grinned, his tail wagging slightly. Then he glances back to the wolf poster and comments in jest, "But that's a pretty good pinup too, isn't it?"

Christopher approached the wolf poster and started to rub his leathery black palm against it, making mock erotic and pleasurable moans but stops after a few seconds. He let out another laugh and flopped down on his bed, letting out a relaxing sigh. Despite the fact he didn't want to be cooped up in his duplex today, it felt good to be resting in his bed after the changes. Besides, he at least was sharing the company of others.

"Shower's up if you want it next," Christopher told Duke when he could hear Bing finishing up in the bathroom and turning off the water. "By the way, I've got plenty of stuff here entertainment wise so feel free to help yourself but don't break anything otherwise I'll be a pissed off wolf."

When Bing exited the bathroom and made his inquiry, Christopher wrinkled his nose again. Ugh, alcohol was such a nasty thing. He didn't understand how people could drink the stuff. It tasted terrible and not to mention the side effects if you have one too many. "Ok, ok... I'll make a call to the labs for you since this will prove to be an urgency in your case."

Chris rolled over in his bed and pushed the intercom button, announcing, "Excuse me but could you please have some coffee grounds and beer delivered to my duplex state? One of my guests seems to be in urgent need. Thank you."

Bing got out of the shower as he heard Chris' comment about alcohol.

"When things like this happen, something to calm the nerves is just the thing." He said, sitting on the floor and leaned on the bed. He took another deep breath.

"Anyone ever try to escape?" Bobby asked curiously.
