Down by the Riverside

Victor had gone back to his duplex after his time at the beach, and unlocked the door to his duplex before stepping inside. He had set a towel down just inside the door since his change, he couldn't wear shoes anymore so he had to get used to wiping his feet off or he'd track dirt though his duplex. It still felt strange walking around without shoes, but his feet had started to get calluses, and it didn't bother him so much to walk around so much.

with a sigh he went and sat down on the bed, It had been a good day, he was glad he had met Bia, and hoped to see her again, but for now, all he wanted to do was rest. and So he did, falling asleep nearly the same time he set his head down on the pillow

At the Beach Bar

Victor meets Richard at the Bar

Open a Practice?

Victor considers Richard's suggestion of opening a practice
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Victor had gotten back to his duplex after talking to Richard at the Beach bar, he hoped that Richard would be alright sleeping there and would have rather taken the man back to his own duplex than leave him at the bar, but Victor had other things on his mind. The warm buzz of alcohol from his long island ice had him in a pleasent mood, he was still thinking over what Richard suggested.

"Open a Practice? Me?" Victor asked aloud to the empty room as he sat
down at the desk where his laptop was, cringing when he pinched his tail against the chair's back and had to adjust the seat so it didn't hurt anymore. "How I'm suppose to help folks if I don't got a Doctorate in psychology?" He pondered and scratched at his hair with a sigh, opening up his laptop and turning it on, something he hadn't done in a while.
I don't got any of my psych books with me, but I got all the books I had for my classes on my computer! Victor thought to himself while he scrolled though his documents

"Ah here it is..." the lizardman smiled, the alcohol helped drown out the doubts that he had about how well he could help the other islanders, He had at least Richard's support, and for now that was enough. Victor got out a pen and paper and started to write down the following book information:

Psychology for Dummies by Adam Cash

Social Psychology by Sharon S. Brehm

Biological Psychology by James W. Kalat

Essentials of Abnormal Psychology by V. Mark Durand and David H. Barlow

DSM-IV-TR Fourth Edition by American Psychiatric Association

Victor smiled and turned his computer off, taking the paper with him as he went over to the phone and dialed 0, waiting a moment before a labtech finally answered the phone "Hey, I was told I could order some things though the Requisitions department? I have some books that I'd like to order." The lizardman listed off the books that he wanted to have ordered, waiting patiently to spell out the author's last names. Victor tapped his claws on the wall as he thought about other things he might want "Oh and can I get an electric blanket? and a door mat to put outside my duplex? thanks"

Victor hung up the phone as he walked back to his bed and laid down with a sigh, feeling hopeful about how he might be able to help others.

The sickness seems to have returned.... The lengthy hot and cold flashes... going from feeling as if your whole body was afire to feeling as if you are going to freeze to death. You feel horrifically nauseous, unablet o keep anything down for a day and a half during the show of the symptoms.

But as you pass into the second day... things hit the fan. Your whole body writhes and it feels as if every muscle and bone in your body is jumbing around inside... things breaking, things fusing, muscles bunching up around eachother and getting tangled around inside. You watch as your hands and feet change... your hands quickly lose any resemblance to human hands - your thumbs receeding to small dewclaws. Long wicked black claws jut out from the stubby fingers and toes, and black and white speckled scales cover them. Your forearms collapse and merge with your wrists giving you barely flexible appendages.... and then... just as you realize that you will likely never be able to have hadns again... the twining muscles in your chest begin to jut out. Like a horrific flashback to the alien movie, four bulges press agains the skin and then twist outwards into four arms. Begining as indefinate appendages, the bones grow and lengthen as the muscle and flesh is dragged over them at an inconstant rate between the limbs. The ends split into fingers - some more reptilian... some more human. A spattering of scales rises up in places along the arms. Then.... the sensation - the horrifying sensation repeats at your hips as two more legs - one on each side - twist out of your body. Your torso, however, seems to shrink and collapse upon itself as the mass is pulled and needed for your new libs... and tail that lashes about in the pain longer... and longer.

There is a pause... and you hope to heaven above or whatever else you believe in during this brainmelting pain that it's over.... but no one listens.

The scales creep up the back of your head, hair at the back of your head falling out in chunks... and ridges of bone around your eyes begin to develop... and your nose begins to push out further.... but the stranges thing, is that there seems to be an abnormal amount of calcification of bone in your nose.... your nostrils widen.... but don't stop widening. Bone structures begin to deveop in your nose above and below your nostrils.... hardening... hardening. and then you could swear that you feel sharp jags appear in those ever widening nostrils..... and then, in a burst of pain, your nostrils split open - the septum between them ripping open as muscles in a second set of jaws pulls your nose apart - growing and lengthenign into a new mouth. Skin shreds and scales emerge over your front face, and scattering oer your shoulders and around your pelvis. New teeth were indeed the jaged forms in your nose, and your whole face feels as if it is going to burst in the anormal growths. With the stretched skin of your face, large areas under your eyes expose the red muscle-flesh beneath them. Your tongue - your real tongue in your original mouth lengthens and splits at the end - tasting the air around you - and the sweat... and the blood.

Finally, it DOES end... and you are left a monster. Your new mouth functions... sort of. But it feels as if when you try to eat as if you are snorting something through your nose. It connects to the back of your throat where your nose did. But despite the size of your new mouth, it's passageway is much narrower until it opens up into your esophogas - and has the flap of skin that prevents you from swallowing/breathing with both sets of mouths at the same time.

But throughout it all, and even after the fact - the pain aside - your mind remains perfectly intact and human.

Before the Change
Victor feels ill again and runs into Gaius

Gaius Harper
Another day, another set of boards nailed... and fingers hammered. Gaius sucked on his thumb before shaking it out quickly in an attempt to alleviate the stinging pressure pain. Vixen rolled about in the dirt nearby, making a perfect mess of herself and being no help at all. Aside from himself, it was a pretty quiet morning... Gaius absently wondered where some of his helpers were...

Victor Zimmerman

For Victor it had been a very bad night, he had woken up very early in the morning and promptly emptied his stomach out into the toliet. The rest of the early morning hours he spent sitting in the bathroom, wrapped up in a blanket, being wracked by lengthy cold and hot flashes. Eventually the sun had come up and warmed up his duplex, and the feelings of sickness had ebbed a bit. Victor felt he ought to get out, get some fresh air and sun.

It had taken a while for him to get the energy to get out the front door, and had decided to head for the beach but instead found himself walking into a small construction area, and spied an odd looking man and his dog.
"Hey there"

Gaius Harper
Gaius remained in his hunched position, only his neck and head lifting up, a movement that had grown common to him, to spy the approaching stranger. The assortment of scales and odd features seemed to indicate he was already decently along, though it was hard to determine if the guy'd undergone his first or second change.. Gaius caught himself wondering and shook his head. Why was he thinking about that?

Putting on a friendly face, Gaius straightened up a bit, waving with the hand not holding his project in place in greeting. "Hey! What brings you to this neck of the woods? You looking to volunteer?"

Victor Zimmerman
"Volunteer? " at first Victor wasn't sure what Gaius was talking about but after looking around the contruction area a moment he figured it out

"Oh is this the future Theater i've heard about?" Victor sat down on some lumber not far from the horse-man, watching Vixen for a moment before looking back at Gaius. " I don't think I'm up to for working, I was heading to the beach to lay out in the sun for a while, haven't been feeling well"

Gaius Harper
Gaius set aside his tools, figuring it'd be more polite to give the guy his attention, though he was really wanting to work on what he could get done today...

Noticing Victor, Vixen hopped up, shedding a cloud of dust, and bounded over to investigate the new arrival. Her greeting was most certainly friendly... and sloppy... and accompanied with wet nose as she tried to get at the guy's face to lick him.

"Hey! Vixen, give the guy some space!" Gaius protested, getting to his feet as Vixen ignored him, seeming interested in investigating Victor's smell. He gave the scaled guy an apologetic smile. "Yeah, the theater... one and the same!"

"Hm, if you're not feeling well, you should be careful... you don't want to catch sun stroke on top of it all!"

Victor Zimmerman
Victor used his hands to help discourage Vixen from jumping up on him
"Hey, Hey there Vixen, Sit, stay" The lizardman didn't really mind the attention the dog was giving him, but didn't really want Vixen to be licking his face.

"A man named Richard told me about this." Victor studied the other man for a bit while scratching Vixen behind the ears with his hand. "Are you Gaius?" He asked, taking a guess, Richard didn't say anything about Gaius having wings.

Gaius Harper

Vixen reluctantly let up, though she remained sitting beside Victor and took to leaning against his leg, enjoying the attention.

Gaius looked at Victor interestedly, clearly recognizing Richard's name. He nodded slowly. "Yeah... I'm Gaius. What did Richard say about the project? And..." He smiled sheepishly, "I don't think I've gotten your name yet!"

Victor Zimmerman
"I'm Victor" the Lizardman leaned forward to offer his hand to Gaius. "Richard said the theater should be fun, but not much else, we both were having a drink down at the bar by the beach." Victor sighed and leaned back, even with the warm sun on him it did little to really make him feel better.

"Looks like you've been doing a good job on it so far"

Gaius Harper
Gaius snorted. "Not especially... We were making good progress, but then one of my workers changed on the scene. He ended up breaking another guy's arm, and they both had to be taken care of by the labs..." He shook his precarious head, wings twitching in agitation. "I need to get some help to pick up the pace again..."

Shifting topics, Gaius glanced over Victor's face and, more noticeably, the scales on it, and the tail behind him. "So... some kind of lizard?"

Victor Zimmerman
Victor put a hand on Vixen's head, his claws tracing though the dog's fur while he listened to Gaius. "I'm sure things will pick back up...I'd help out if I felt better"

He noticed Gaius glancing over him and nodded his head with a sigh as his tail flicked to the side. "Some type of lizard or reptile yes"

Gaius Harper

Gaius frowned. Poor guy... "Maybe it's the lizard part that's making you feel bad? Or some kind of flu? I hadn't thought there'd be enough people around here to spread that kind of stuff, but maybe if you got it from the food, or the jungle...?" he offered, watching the man with concern.

Victor Zimmerman
Victor stopped petting Vixen for a bit, tapping his claws on his knees instead.
"Probably just something I ate" the Lizard-man said, but didn't sound convinced. he hoped it only was something he ate or the flu, but there was a nagging voice at the back of his head, reminding him that he felt nearly the same, although not as bad, before he changed.

Victor pushed the thought aside, no it couldn't be that he didn't have the hot/cold flashes that he been experiancing since early that morning. He took his gaze off of Gaius and placed his hand back on Vixen's head, scratching the fur. Victor didn't know what was the matter with him and it worried him.

Gaius Harper

"Maybe..." Gaius said, though he didn't sound sure.

Vixen leaned her head into the scratching, leaning harder and harder against Victor's leg that she finally slid off and rolled over onto her back, waving her paws in the air and in obvious position for a proper belly scratch. Gaius smirked, amused by the scene. Well, if Vixen liked him, he was probably a good guy.

"Have you tried getting some kind of medicine from the clinic?"

Victor Zimmerman
Victor shook his head "I don't think I'd be able to keep them down, since last night anything I eat just comes back up" He told Gaius, looking down at Vixen as he took his hand away, not giving the dog the wanted belly scratch. The lizardman rubbed his arms, feeling a bit of a cold chill passing though him.
"I rather wait for right now, just hoping its a twenty four hour sort of thing"

Gaius Harper

Vixen rolled back to her feet, shooting Victor a turty look before marching off in a huff. Gaius watched her go, raising a curious eyebrow. Such a strange dog... Then he looked back at Victor, his expression one of concern. "That bad? Well, maybe the fresh air will help..."

Having been standing against one of the work piles, Gaius went back to the beams he'd been working on nailing together, picking up hammer and nails again, and set about continuing. If they were just chatting, no reason for him to keep from working too!

"So... Victor, huh?" His speech was punctuated with loud hammers as he drove a nail into the wood. "Haven't seen you around before... what do you keep yourself... busy with... here?"

Victor Zimmerman
Victor nodded to Gaius' suggestion of getting fresh air, and quietly watched the man go back to work and ask what he did to keep himself busy.

"I actually talked to Richard a little about that and he helped me get going on something, I was a psychology student and trying to get a doctorate before I came here, and I put a message up on the community board, for people that just want to talk about anything, to try and help them, I even ordered some books"

Gaius Harper

Gaius looked up, rubbing his forehead on the back of his hand, leaving a smear of dirt on it. "Psychology? So, like if I had some problems, I could lie on one of those couch thingies and rattle about my life to you and you'd tell me how it was all the fault of my disturbed childhood?" His mouth perked up in a playful grin. "I hadn't checked the board lately, you got any responses yet?"

Victor Zimmerman
Victor chuckled lightly "Yeah you could lie on the couch and talk all you wanted about any problem you got going" The lizardman smiled "I set it up on the board last night so nobody has come by yet, hope it will be a day or two before anyone does so I can read up on some of my notes"

Gaius Harper

"Yeeeah, probably not a good idea to have to be checking the reference books every five minutes during the therapy session..." Gaius laughed, tapping another nail held between his fingers.

"I think that's a great idea, though, considering how messed up the island is... I don't know if I could handle telling my secrets and feelings to a stranger... but, eh, it should help some people?"

Victor Zimmerman
The Lizardman ignored the comment about checking the reference books
"I wouldn't need to know all of someone's personal life, I like helping people figure out how to help them though the problems they got now, I was an intern at a hospital, talking to patients there"

Victor sighed he knew the island was messed up, and hoped that he could do some good for some of the islanders, it would be better than doing nothing at all

Gaius Harper
Gaius paused in his work, rubbing his chin absently - a bit of a reach he was used to making by now. "Well, I know I've... had some problems. Kinda. Don't know if I want to bring them back up, but... well, if something happens in the future... maybe it'd be good to talk to someone, so I'm not bringing down my friends..."

His eyes drifted back to Victor. The guy was looking kinda sickly... "You sure you want to walk all the way to the beach?"

Victor Zimmerman

"Everyone has problems every once and a while, but don't need to talk about it now, probably be better to wait anyway." Victor didn't really feel like having to solve anyone's problem today, not when he wasn't feeling unwell.

"yeah the beach really isn't that far"

Gaius Harper
"Well, if you're sure..." Gaius sounded unconvinced, but let it slide with a shrug and returned to his hammering.

Returning from the jungle, Vixen came bearing a bit of old fruit she'd found lying on the jungle floor. She carried it gingerly in her teeth, a few bits of pulp oozing out where her teeth had pierced the rotting flesh, and walked right up to Victor...

And dropped the mushy fruit right on his foot. The lumpy thing burst open, over-ripe pulp oozing all over his toes.

Seemed she wasn't one to let a snub go without payback.

Gaius, immersed in his work, was oblivious to the whole scene.

Victor Zimmerman

Victor nodded and watched Gaius resume hammering, not quite noticing Vixen come back with her 'prize' not until it was dropped right on his foot.

The lizardman looked at the mushy fruit and the oozing pulp all over his foot, normally it wouldn't bother him, but since this morning, his stomach had been weak, and almost immedately Victor felt bile rising up in his throat.
"Oh...bad dog" was all Victor got out before spitting out the acidic bile in his mouth, and kicked the bad fruit off of his foot, glaring at Vixen as he stood up, intent on leaving.

Gaius Harper
Gaius looked up at the exclamation, first seeing Victor looking even sicker than before, then the pile of what had once been fruit, and finally Vixen standing a distance away looking very pleased with herself. It took a moment for it all to click. The instant it did, he shot a dark look at his dog. "Vixen!" he scolded.

"Victor... sorry... I don't know why..." he stuttered as he attepted to apologize, not rightly sure what had exactly happened. Finally he just gave up and gave an apologetic shrug.

Victor Zimmerman
Victor shook his foot to try and get the rest of the rotten pulp off of his clawed foot, spitting the remaining bile from his mouth. "Its...alright" He told Gaius, he certainly wasn't that happy with Vixen right at that moment, his tail was twitching behind him. Victor sighed. "Its alright, wasn't your fault, but I guess I ought to be heading to the beach if i'm going to go, kinda have to to get this off my foot" the lizardman gave the theater another look over "Its been nice meeting you Gaius, I hope your theater gets completed"

Gaius Harper
"Thanks, hopefully it'll be soon..."

He watched the poor guy leave, then shot Vixen a dark look. "That was a nasty thing you did... Can't you see the poor guy was already sick? You should be ashamed of yourself..."

The dog hung her head, moving forward in a submissive posture, but Gaius would have none of it and shooed her away to amuse herself elsewhere and he returned to his hammering.

Becoming a Monster

Victor undergoes his second transformation, losing most of his physical humanity in the process

After Victor left the beach and headed towards the cafeteria, he had decided in retrospect that it probably not the best of ideas, he didn’t feel any better, and if anything he was progressively feeling worse, nothing he ate would stay down, even the ginger ale he drank to try and settle his stomach wouldn’t remain in his stomach. On the positive side of things, Victor found the duplex listing there, something that he not noticed before and took down the names and duplex numbers of the few people that he had met, writing them down on a napkin before heading back towards his duplex. Once inside his room, the lizardman felt exhausted, with the terrible nausea building up again but there wasn’t anything in his stomach he could possibly vomit back up. Victor set the napkin on his laptop before stripping most of his clothing off, except for his boxers and the green tee-shirt that he had on, which ironically was the same shirt he was wearing when he first arrived on the island. Hesitantly he had climbed into bed, pulling a blanket over himself as he felt alternating bone-chilling cold spells and skin-burning hot flashes. Victor most certainly regretted not going to the clinic and trying to get some medicine, but it was too late for that, he just didn’t have the energy.

That night was a rough one, with the nausea and the cold-hot flashes and the infrequent trips to the bathroom, Victor was unable to get any peaceful rest for a long time, but at just about 4am, the lizard-man had fallen into an uneasy sleep. He slept for only until 9 o’clock later that morning, much less than what Victor felt he needed, but it wasn’t the sun. Something hurt, and Victor sat up to sit on the edge of his bed, unsure of exactly it was that was bothering him, taking off his shirt to look himself over, but then everything started to go wrong, very wrong, with Victor’s body.

The lizard-man fell back onto the bed, his entire body writhing as Victor cried out, feeling as if all the muscle and bones in his body were shifting around inside of him, bones breaking apart while others fused together, the muscles contracting and becoming tangled. Victor tried to sit back up, only managing to roll onto his side as he watched his hands and feet started to change, his fingers drawing back as his claws grew longer, now like large wicked talons jutting out as his thumbs receded, becoming small dewclaws while black and white scales covered his hands. The changing man was nearly paralyzed in both fear and pain, realizing his hands no longer looking like human hands and that they were becoming less functional, nearly screaming out loud as his forearms collapsed and slowly merged with his wrists, making them barely flexible, and useless as hands.

“N-no, no no no….” Victor stammered, his altered hands looked almost no different than his feet, He tried moving what was left of his fingers, the terrible awareness that he wouldn’t ever be able to ever use them as hands again burning into his mind and breaking him down emotionally, tears starting to swell up in his eyes, just as the pain began to build up again, the twisted muscles in his chest extending and painfully protruding outwards, becoming four defined bulges. Victor gave a sickly moan, his mind trying to feebly understand and grasp what this was, then mentally recoiling as the bulges pressed out against his skin, then twisted outwards into four vaguely defined arms. Victor rolled onto his back, mentally screaming, but only able to let out a whimper as bones grew inside the developing limbs, muscle and flesh being dragged into the growing limbs, the ends of the four arms painfully splitting into small fingers, some more human, the others more reptilian, more scales growing on the arms protruding from his chest.

Victor writhed on the bed, crying as the changes were accompanied by horrific agony, numbing conscious thought, his chest-arms jerking, the small hands clenching as the claws of his former human hands got caught into the sheets, then tearing the fabric as the Lizard-man tried to pull them free, as two more bulges started to expand from beside his legs, his hips changing shape as his reptilian tail pushed out further.

As Victor’s hips distorted and his tail grew, the changing man was almost blissfully unaware that his genitals had been pulled into his body, and then changed to completely match that of reptile’s, the alteration was masked over by pain as two more appendages began to twist out from his hips, tearing his boxers apart into rags, at first only warped lumps of flesh, then quickly grew and developed into an extra set of legs. The lizardman’s tail extended even more, stretching out further behind him, lashing side to side, knocking over the lamp that was next to his bed and breaking it. Victor cried out as he felt his torso altering, seemingly becoming sorter and collapse upon itself as the mass was distributed to his developing limbs and tail, making him feel shorter, his limbs, the original ones, felt too large, the new appendages shook and moved almost on their own, the newly formed nerves triggering as new neural pathways formed between Victor’s pain-stricken brain and the extra limbs.

Then there was a pause, allowing Victor to catch his breath, his chest hitching and heaving as he sobbed, wishing and hoping it was over, what else could happen to him? His body had betrayed him, mutating freakishly to something completely alien, his hands now useless, while other limbs had grown out from him, it felt nearly impossible to move, everything hurt, and his mind didn’t understand yet how to even use these new appendages.

At first Victor wasn’t aware the changes had started again, scales creeping up the back of his head, but became alarmed when he felt his hair starting to fall out in clumps, trying to reach back there to feel what was happening, but the hair loss was quickly forgotten as the ridges of bone around his eyes started to build up, the mind bending pain coming back with a vengeance as Victor’s already enlarged snout was forced out further, his nose growing larger, the nostrils widening, and widening, not stopping as unknown to Victor, an abnormal amount of calcification was growing in his nose, feeling like jabs of pain to the Lizardman as large bone structures formed and grew within his huge nose, both above and below the nostrils, hardening, with sharp jags appearing in his still widening nostrils.

As the changes further progressed, Victor wasn’t prepared for the excruciating pain that was caused as his nostrils split, and the septum between them tearing open, the wound bleeding as the muscles in a second set of jaws pulled his nose apart, which further lengthened, new jagged and sharp teeth growing out from the gums as the extra jaws developed into a full second mouth. The changing man’s tongue in his original mouth lengthens and then splits at the end, able to taste the air around him, the sweat and the blood from his own body. The sensation of the second mouth opening up proves to be too much for Victor, almost like he was a Pez-dispenser the entire top half of his large head opening and closing as he gagged, nausea overwhelming him as he ejected bile from his original mouth, and onto the floor. The altered man’s skin shreds as scales emerged and spread over his front face, shoulders and around his pelvis. Victor’s entire face felt almost like it was going to burst open, the skin stretching further, causing large areas under his eyes to expose the red muscle-flesh beneath them.

Then abruptly, the transformation ends, leaving Victor feeling broken, mentally , emotionally and physically. Unable to move, the lizardman lays out on the bed, probably the most horrible thing of all, his mind remains perfectly intact and human, but still not quite able to fully comprehend the extreme and horrific changes that have occurred to his body. Victor only really aware of one thing, that he was a monster now, an abomination that didn’t match anything found in nature. For the longest time he had been afraid of becoming disfigured or deformed, and now it had happened to him, in the most unimaginable of ways, he had lost nearly all of his physical humanity, reduced to this…ugly thing that lay helpless as a turtle on it’s back on the bed.
Victor let out another bout of choked sobs, letting himself fall into darkness as utter exhaustion set in, and the lizard-man felt the darkness envelop him.

Learning to Crawl

Victor faces a hard new reality

Getting up the next morning was maybe the most difficult thing Victor had ever done, he would have rather never woken up to face this. The events of the previous day were like a bad nightmare that he would never ever wake up from. His body was monsterous and alien to him, His limbs wouldn't and couldn't move as his rational mind wanted them to move.

His face, his head were wrong, his arms wrong, legs: wrong, Hands: wrong, Mouth: wrong, all the extra appendages that had developed on his body: Wrong. Victor could open and close the huge second mouth that had formed almost as easily as he could his own, but the sensation of his head opening up was too terribly real, and made Victor feel nausious.
The lizard man felt loathsome, and he didn't want to be seen, he didn't want others that he had met or had just started to become friends with to see him like this, a freak among freaks. The thought of that alone was enough to make Victor start to cry again. He felt defeated, alone, and afraid, and lay motionless on the bed for some time.

Victor eventually became aware that his body needed food, the hideous transformation having drained his energy, and the sickness before his change and not able to eat had left him feeling starved. He had some food in his duplex, but he would have to get to it first.

Carefully and deliberately, Victor rolled onto his stomach, still on the bed. He had to figure out how to move himself, his legs were different, and what used to be his arms were now more like legs, then from his hips there were another pair of legs, Victor wasn't sure how to use them yet or the arms projecting from his chest, the arms would move when he thought consciously about it, but that was a challange for later. Carefully he used his limbs to pull himself back to the edge of the bed, and then slid himself down to the floor, yelling out a curse as he landed on his tail wrong, bending the sensitive appendage. It lashed to the side and out of the way and Victor looked to his desk where he had three apples from a couple days ago. The lizardman tested his limbs, using his legs to push himself, while using his former arms to pull himself, managing to hold himself just off the floor, but moving forward, just like a giant lizard in a bad horror movie. Bitter tears rolled over the patches below his eyes and down over the sides of his jaws, determindly pulling himself up half in his deskchair as he used his large arm to roll the apples towards him.

Victor had to tilt his head to the side to be able to get a good look at where the apples were, his eyes almost on the sides of his head now. He looked at the apples, then reached for one with his chest arms, using the top two to grasp ahold of one of the apples, then lifting it up towards his mouth, then dropped the apple, which rolled onto the floor. Victor closed his eyes a moment, breathing in deeply before trying again, this time managing to bring the apple to his mouth, the orginal one, which to Victor felt was the 'right' mouth, it had his tongue. Victor bit into the apple and ate it, realizing that he was more hungry that he orginally thought himself to be and ate it, then moving to the second one, his sharp pointed teeth cutting though the apple's flesh. During the entire time he ate, his second mouth would open and close lightly, mimicing the motions of his working jaw.

He knew he would need to get more food, he was still hungry, but he still wasn't ready to go out yet...it was too degrading for Victor to have to nearly crawl to the caferteria, and do it naked, a fact he painfully became aware of, only furthering his depression, everything that made him male was inside of him, a blessing modesty-wise but still just another facet to the horrible changes and emotions that he felt. The lizardman was still thinking over this when he spotted the small duplex listing of folks that he knew, the one he had gotten from the caf... and He silently considered this... if he couldn't go to the caferteria, maybe he could get someone to help him?
It was a good plan to Victor, but he wanted to wait until it was later, and darker before he did anything, to lessen his chances of being seen. He didn't feel he could stand to be seen by anyone, but he needed to eat, and stared at the intercom by the door, thinking of who he should call for help.

Calling for Help
Victor calls Gaius and hopes for the best

Victor had waited till dusk had set in before he struggled over to the intercom, forcing himself to sit up, using his tail to help prop himself up to use the numberpad. It was painful, but so was almost every part of his body, he needed to get food and painkillers, but didn't dare do it himself.
The Lizardman tried to use his new chest arms to press the buttons on the number pad, but had to try several times over as his new arms either got in the way or hit the wrong buttons, but eventually Victor got the combination he needed: #62.
"Gaiussss?" Victor asked, closing his eyes tightly as he realized he had a lisp on top of everything else that had happened to him, he couldn't even talk right anymore with his forked tongue "Are you there?"

Gaius had collapsed face-first on his bed after returning back to his duplex from a long day at work. Every part of him was wonderfully tired with that sense of having been productive.

However, his rest was not to be, for after the sun had set, the little light on his intercom started beeping, and a rough voice sounded over the speaker. One of his ears turned towards the sound. It didn't sound like a lab person...

Pushing himself up, he slid off the bed and over to the intercom, picking up the unit and pushing the answering key. "Yeah?" he asked through a stiffled yawn. "Who's it?"

"Itsss Victor" the voice over the intercom informed Gaius. The Lizardman shifted uneasily on his legs, it was difficult to stay in the position he was in, with that extra set of legs dangling off the ground from his hips. Victor felt guilty for disturbing the horseman, and made the situation even more awkward for Victor.

"Gaiusss..." Victor paused, trying to focus on how he spoke to try and lessen the lisp "I-I need sssome help" He felt like crying all over again, he had never had to ask for help like this.

Something sounded odd in the man's speach, but Gaius wrote it off as interference over the line at first. "Victor?" he answered in a friendly tone, "Hey! Didn't think I'd be hearing from you again so soon..."

His voice quieted as the voice on the other end continued, an odd tightness to it that even the phoneline couldn't be attributed to. Something was off with him, that was clear. "Help? With what?" Gaius asked in a concerned tone. "Are you hurt?"

Tears started to well up in Victor's eyes when he heard Gaius' friendly voice and then concerned tone. The Lizarman kept his eyes screwed right shut, he didn't want to start crying, not yet, not yet. Was he hurt? Yes, in more ways than one.

"I-I, n-need you to get sss-ssome thingss for me, s-sssome f-food, water, and painkillersssss and bring them to my duplexsss" Victor's lisp was getting worse the more he got upset, trying to take deep breaths to calm himself down. "and knock on t-the door b-before you come in"

Gaius listened to the choking words, his stomach dropping out inside him as he listened to the list. Food, water, painkillers. All the necessities of a change, a painful fact he'd learned through more experiences than he'd ever wanted. His heart went out to the poor guy on the other end of the line...

"Don't worry Victor, I'll get you just what you need and we'll get you taken care of, alright? Just hang in there, pal."

With that, he hung up his end of the line. Flinging a scarf over his shoulders against the evening chill, he went out, Vixen his ever-present shadow at his side.

"T-thank you" Victor said before the call was cut off. Now the tears spilled out over the sides of his large face when he finally opened his eyes and let himself slide back down to the floor, he now had a painful cramp in the base of his tail from sitting on it like he did. Now something else bothered him, how could he let Gaius see him like this? he wasn't even remotely human any more, the untouched patches of skin, hair and ears the only things that really showed he could have been human.

Victor crawled on the floor to the far side of the bed and hooked the claws of his forelegs (which used to be his arms) into the blanket and sheets covering his bed and started to pull, dragging the fabric off the bed and onto him. It was difficult with his inflexible forelegs, but eventually he got the bedsheets to cover most of himself, his head, tail and his rear legs still visible and if he bent his head down, and used his chest arms to hold up a strip of fabric, it kept his mouth and chest arms from view, almost. It was just enough to comfort Victor into hoping Gaius wouldn't completely freak out if he saw him
